A huge issue with a shared ntfs partition between Arch and Win8.1

Dear Community,
I've recently had to install 8.1 in order for my CAD/CAM software to work. I've a PC with two drives, a 64G OCZ SSD and a 300G HDD. The motherboard is BIOS based, and both filesystems are MBR. I've had Arch rootfs on the SSD for a long time, thus I've created three partitions on the 300G drive, one for windows, one for ext4-/home and one for ntfs-/dropbox, which is designed to be a ntfs-3g filesystem that is supposed to be shared between the operating systems. I've already done the same thing on my laptop, but the difference is that it was done on a single drive. And now the catch - Windows Explorer does not see the /dropbox partition, however it is visible in the management software (right click on my computer, then manage, and then drives or something alike). Plus, using the drive manager, I cannot assign the drive a name - the option is blacked out. I've noticed that the drives were visible on the first launch of Windows, afterwards I've launched linux in order to set up Dropbox, afterwards the drives were not visible in windows anymore. I shall post screens of the situation and the partition table as soon as I get back home.
I don't really know what logs or info should I post here in order to properly diagnose the issue, so I'd like a helping hand. I've noticed that similair issues are widespread within the ubuntu community, however, none of the resources I've found yielded a working solution. I'd like to methodically get to the bottom of this. The problem is that Linux sees the shared partition, and windows is "blind" to the partition. Blind in the sense that I cannot access or see the partition from Windows Explorer, but the partition is visible but not manageable in the Drive Manager of Windows. As soon as I get back home I'll be able to upload some actual screenshots.
Sorry for the aux info, it's kinda of walk in the dark for me.

Issue with comcast sent email syncing between IPad and MacBook Air

When sending email from comcast account on my iPad the emails don't show up in sent mail on my MacBook mail application, why not? This is a problem when following up on key communications during a consulting project.

That's because Comcast for the majority of account uses POP email, and with POP all sent and downloaded mail is local to the device. Received mail can be set not to be automatically erased from the server and hence downloaded and read on multiple systems, but sent mail is not and can only be viewed in the sending system. Hence you have to sync the email by some other means, such as through iTunes to see it all on multiple devices.
Comcast does have a "beta" of IMAP, where all mail, send and received, is kept on their servers. If you're interested in that, see:

Issue with OBIEE ROW_NUMBER() OVER (PARTITION BY)

I am facing some issue with the ROW_NUMBER() OVER (PARTITION BY function in the query that is being generated. I am currently on version 11.1.1.6. I have 1 FACT and 1 Dimension table. Within the dimension I have create a level based hierarchy namely REGION -> GROUP - DIVISION etc. Now the problem is that the OBIEE automatically applies *"ROW_NUMBER() OVER (PARTITION BY T9.PRODUCT_TYPE_DESC, T130.DIVISION_DESC, T130.REGION_DESC ORDER BY T9.PRODUCT_TYPE_DESC ASC, T130.DIVISION_DESC ASC, T130.REGION_DESC ASC) "

Thanks for replying back. But the ROW_NUMBER thing is inserted with the "WITH SUPPORTED" clause only but that is something which are the default settings. However, I notice that ROW_NUMBER() OVER (PARTITION BY) lines are erratic and are not consistent. So sometimes the drill works properly when no ROW_NUMBER() OVER (PARTITION BY) is generated but other times data is wrong. I am not sure why this behaviour is erratic even though I select the same values.
This is surely a product problem as the condition where c7 = 1 filters the result and does not take into account all values.
Even when I do not use WITH_SUPPORTED clause the stitch does not happen properly. Please advice if this is ever going to be by Oracle or any work around for this?

Issues with Media Sharing to XBOX360/PS3

I'm having a weird issue with media streaming to my XBOX 360 and PS3 in regards to what I can access. I currently have my media sharing setup to share music and videos, including podcasts, regardless of the rating. I usually prefer to stream these items through the XBOX 360 dashboard (not Windows Media Center) or PS3. The problem I am having is that when new things are added to the library (mainly video podcasts in MP4 format in one of my shared folders downloaded via iTunes) I can see them without issue in WMP12 on my computer or Windows Media Center on both my desktop and XBOX 360. However, when I try to access these new items through the XBOX 360 dashboard or PS3 these videos may or may not show up and there seems to be no rhyme or reason as to why this would be. Has anyone encountered this issue or know of a fix (or is there possibly a recent thread that has addressed this issue)?

I noticed this thread has not been updated in a bot and as I just dropped Win7 on my media PC at home after using it for a few months on another laptop like what i saw from release to release. After upgrading my PC (2.3ghz, 4gb RAM, couple terrabytes in drive space...) I had a problem first just streaming media to both my PS3 and my xboxes (x2). After Binging theweb a bit I found relief fro that by deleting and reseting my Homegroup.
Now that I can finally see content on consoles, I was pretty excited until Inoticed I had only half of my folders available for accessing. It seems out of the 10-12 folders I only have 5-6 of them that will actually show up. Again I tried to find some info out there on the intertubes, but no one seems to have any info specifically to this issue.
What I have tried so far:
1) Took a look security settings and verified what was mentioned above regarding the folder security and I was good there.
2) wiped and recreated the WMP12 media library. after this I noticed that not all the media in the My Videos folder are showing in WMP 12, but I defintely have more stuff showing on the Xbox then in WMP12. figurd that was a file compat issue.
3) tried to copy one of the folders that was not visible into one that was. Aside from somehow cause two seasons of episodes to somehow disappear int eh cut-n-paste then cut-n-return to original folder, nothing happened there either.
so far nothing seems to work. thoughts anyone?
Oh yeah... upgraded from Vista64 ultimate to Win 7 ultimate 64 and this worked flawlessly in Vista.

I have been having huge issues with my apple Id and password every time I enter in my apple Id and password it will not accept my password and I tried changing my password and when I go to use it it says it is wrong .I am so tired of having to change a password for all my apple products It is ridiculous. Ever since I went to the apple store and they had me use that darn ICloud everything has been screwed up. I never used I cloud for anything before and now I cannot do any updates on my iPhone or iPad or even my mac laptop. I do not know what to do can any one help?

Reset the iPad and see if that helps. Close all apps first.
Tap the home button once. Then tap the home button twice and the recents tray will appear at the bottom of the screen. Tap and hold down on any app icon until it begins to wiggle. Tap the minus sign in the upper left corner of the app that you want to close. Tap the home button twice.
Reset the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider if it appears on the screen - let go of the buttons. Let the iPad start up.
If that doesn't work, you should probably restore the iOS software. Instructions are in this kb article.

If that fails, you are pretty much out of options and you should take your iPad to an Apple Store. They might be able to use their magic to restore the device for you, or if it is a hardware problem they will explain your options to you at that point.

I did some more checking as I still had my old computer online.
I booted and went into iTunes.
Under DEVICES, the TV was listed, along with MUSIC, PHOTOS, PLAYLISTS, much like an iPod/Touch.
When I went into PREFERENCES->TV DEVICES, the TV was listed and on the site, it stated SYNCING.
On the other computer, it listed STREAMING. I did do a RIGHT CLICK on the device and selected "STOP STREAMING" and it disappeard - must RE-PAIR with the unit I guess.
I'm afraid to perform the following, but if someone out there has the equipment, maybe they can check...
Make sure nothing else is managing the TV.
Pair with the unit so you have all sorts of options under the device and it shows 'syncing'.
Now, create a new account and perform the same thing or use another Mac. I believe it will limit you to STREAMING only.
My thoughts are that ONLY ONE computer can sync (just like other device). I have to disconnect the association with the old computer.
Even though I moved everything over with Migration Assistant, I didn't have any issues with managing the iPhones, but I'm wondering if there is a Computer UUID that the AppleTV is TIED to. Since I'm on a different computer UUID, and it's being managed by another one, I'm limited to STREAMING.
Only other choice is to RESET the unit - now, where did my manual go?

We rebooted and can log into Novell client but the login prompt did not appear for ESM client or the icon was not in the systray. Everything seems to work, besides at times (a couple times today) it terminates his ethernet card/connection. I would re-image his computer but he has several applications and it would take several hours, so I am hoping someone has an idea to fix this issue. So I was trying to figure out why he did not get the prompt to login and why it's not in the systray and it appears to not have completed the install? I checked the add/remove programs, its not listed within their, I also checked the registry and found nothing for endpoint within their, but the files are within c:\program files\novell\zenworks endpoint security.
I have also tried uninstalling it but that fails due to it "not being installed", and it will not reinstall over itself either.

If you are searching the registry, check for the "Senforce" string. It should be at HKLM\Software\Senforce
Try running the install program for the ZSC with the following command line:
setup.exe /V"STUNINSTALL=1"
If you've specified an uninstall password, try this one instead:
setup.exe /V"STUNINSTALL=1 STUIP=password"" (please note the double quote at the end)

Greyed imaged in the Import dialog box mean you have already imported the photos into Lightroom, so there is no need and no benefit to importing them a second time.
Just go to the Library module, search for the desired photos, and resume working on these photos.

Tried following up with the developer's instruction. Didn't help. Developer suggested contacting Apple if their instruction didn't work. Tried the various methods recommended on the Apple site. Same result.

Telling is that you tried most of the things on the net doesn't tell us exactly what you did try, so we are all still left to guess .....
Sign out of your account, restart the iPad and then sign in again.
Settings>Store>Apple ID. Tap your ID and sign out. Restart the iPad by holding down on the sleep button until the red slider appears and then slide to shut off. To power up hold the sleep button until the Apple logo appears and let go of the button.
Go back to Settings>Store>Sign in and then try to update again
If that doesnt work - go to Settings>General>Date and Time - set the date ahead by a few months. Try to update again. If you get an error message of any kind - go back and change the date and time to automatic again. Then try again.
If that doesn't work, restart your router and reboot the iPad.

But I can't find my ntfs partition (/mnt or /media)
So my question, how can i add an ntfs-partition in Arch ?

Do you have "fam" listed in DAEMONS in rc.conf? xfdesktop and thunar use fam to refresh folder views.
