A key wont work on my keyboard

The 1 and 2 keys wont work on my keyboard..Any ideas? Computer is about a year old.

Hi, under the flag icon at top right of the screen, open Keyboard Viewer, does that show the keys not pressed?

The Fn key won't work until somebody writes the corresponding utility for Linux. Don't hold your breath.

Volume and brightness keys not working with new keyboard on imac

I just purchased a new wired keyboard for imac and brightness and volume control keys not working . i have tried adjusting keyboard settings. I have software version 10.5.8. Do I need to upgrade software. Thank you for any help.

Do you have "Automatically Adjust Brightness" check box ticked in System Preferences > Displays > Display ? If so, you can't manually adjust brightness.

Media keys no working on wireless keyboard

Hey guys,
On my wireless keyboard, play/pause, fast ff and previous song keys are not working, however my sound keys are working. I have checked that the 'use all Fn keys' function is not ticked under the keyboard settings and i am using the keyboard that came with my iMac which i purchased 4 months ago. It only seems to have happened since upgrading to Mavericks.
Can anyone help with a solution? It's getting bit annoying having to maunally change the songs all the time!

Try removing the keyboard from the Bluetooth system prefs, then re-add it in the Keyboard (if it doesn't try automatically).

Various keys not working on apple keyboard in 64-bit windows 7

Has anyone ran into an issue with the 64-bit version of windows 7 where the "=" on the numeric keypad of the apple usb keyboard stops working?
I have tested it in OSX and the key still works, and it also even works in the 32-bit version of windows 7. The only thing that stupid "=" key doesn't work on is 64-bit windows 7.
Any ideas to resolve this issue?

I've tried several different versions of the On Screen Display from the Hotkey Features Integration for Windows 7, including 6.60.03, 6.60.01, 6.60.03, 6.42.00, 6.24.00. And every time, it's the same thing. Everyhting works but the brightness control OSD.
What else can I try?

'O' Key Wont Work Sometimes

Yesterday my 'O' key randomly started to go weird; all of my other buttons work perfectly but when I press the 'O' button, sometimes it wont work. I have absolutely no idea what has caused this but any help would be amazing! The phone is 8 days old and uninsured so I need a fix as I can't send it back!

Using shift key not working with bluetooth keyboard

Am I missing something here? Or does the shift key not work with the iphone using a bluetooth keyboard? I'm using the logitech K810 for reference on iphone 6 iOS 8.1

The shift key works just fine on my Bluetooth keyboard. So I would imagine this is an issue with your keyboard.

Ten key not working with wireless keyboard

Does anybody know how to configure the wireless keyboard, so the ten keys will work?? It frezzes my laptop everytime I active any of the these keys...

what kind of keyboard, Apple brand or some other?
also what are "ten keys" - function keys, number keys?
usually no configuration should be required once the keyboard is recognized,
keyboard is not supposed to cause your system to freeze.

Key wont go back on keyboard!

i have a Compaq Presario CQ62 219-WM. my 'M' key was getting sticky, so i removed it to clean it. well, when i try to put it on, it wont click and stay. can someone help.

If you somehow manage to dislodge a key from its place on your keyboard—whether it’s an older Apple or third-party keyboard or a one of the newer aluminum keyboards now shipping with new iMacs and Mac Pros—you may not be able to just pop it back in place. Turn the key over and see if it has a little plastic “scissor” attached. If it does, and it’s not broken, lift the scissor carefully off of the key and reattach it to the keyboard by hooking it under the tab on the right-hand side, and then fastening the two little plastic hooks into the catches on the left side. Now you’ll need to slide the key cap onto the top tabs of the riser; you may want to use a toothpick or other small implement to keep the riser steady while you reattach the key. Note to anyone with a new aluminum keyboard: The non-letter and -number keys on the Apple aluminum keyboards are trickier to reset because the loop that stabilizes them is made of pliable metal that’s easy to bend the wrong way unless you have a very soft touch.
If you break the plastic scissor on a key cap, you’ll almost always be able to find people online who are selling replacement key caps and scissors.

My Delete Key wont work

I dont understand. It was working earlier today and then when I was replying to a message i wanted to delete something and now the Delete < Key dont work. Why is this? My phone is about a month old?
I took out the battery for about 5 min and still nothing.
Any help please?

What happens when you press the delete key? What about if you choose Menu > Delete?

Can't get the かな key to work on Japanese keyboard

I've tried almost everything I could but I can't seem to get the かな or the 英数 keys to work. Can anyone help me get them programmed or tell me how to use them correctly?
I'm using the Apple Japanese keyboard.

Satellite A300-1M1 - cursors keys wont work

Hi everyone.
I have one Satellite A300-1M1, and in this last weekend both "up" and "down" keys just stop working. At the same time which is very strange.
What should i do ? is it dust ? Ive just cleaned the entire keyboard with a bottle of air spray, and problem remains.
The warranty has just expired last November.

I dont know what do you want to hear. If the keys are not working you must exchange the keyboard.
What you can try is to test keys functionality in BIOS settings. If the keys dont work there too I presume it must be some mechanical problem.
You can also try to remove key caps and clean them up.
What else you can do?

Your phone has a problem with the ribbons...so basically thats a hardware problem and needs to be checked by a nokia technician...
Alternatively,if the phone is under warranty then you can return it to where you bought it from...(if its not water damage then they'll replace.)

1 key doesnt work on buetooth keyboard

A few hours ago one of my keys stopped working the one that is missing out of the heading, since I cant write it, it was beeping then it stopped working , have I done something or is it had it, I have ony had it a few months, shantih9

thanks to niel on his answer in 2008,which I bookmarked, his answer was to drop down system preferences choose sound, then make sure you dont have the box ticked that chooses either a key or command for sound ticked as it stops the key from working, works great now, thanks heaps shantih9
