A lack of memory on preload disk c:

I don't know what to do. No matter how many programs I delete from my notebook, I constantly get the messege on my screen about a low memory level on preload. Shoul I buy some memory card, or what should I do?? please help, I can't download almost anything!!

look what hdd configuration you have ...
right click on my computer -->computer management-->disk management-
if you can see disk 0 and disk 1 you have the upper post described model...
...the described way in linked post could help...
or could see only disk 0 --- splitted in 2 parts big preload 144,8 GB
(134 GB free at factory conditions) <----
and service part 4,24GB...
thats the standard S10e ... should enough room free ...

Problem with Photoshop CS5. Memory and Hard disk space Mac OSX

Just got CS5 Master Suite. Whenever I open photoshop it takes a ton of memory 1 gig +. When I open files it takes up more and more until it takes up all my memory and hard disk space. I open a simple multi layered file that is 25 megs in size to work on it. Before I know it photoshop is taking 20gigs+ of my hard disk space along with 3+ gigs of system memory. Is there a memory problem in photoshop cs5?

UPDATE:
So I just opened the 25 meg file in photoshop cs5 and watched my free space on my hard drive go down 8 gigs the instant I opened it. It went from 27 gigs of freespace to 19 instantly. As I open more files and close others it works till my harddrive goes to zero space... stalls the computer big time. Only way to correct it is to quit photoshop cs5 and wait a few minutes for the space to return... and it takes a few minutes for it all to return.
I am running a Macbook Pro with OSX 10.6., 4 gigs of ram on board.

in sql server, you can create a temp table in the memory instead of disk,
then you can do the insert, delete,update and select on it.
after finishing, just release it.

It is true, of course, that since Version 8.0 Oracle has provided the ability to create a Keep Pool in the Buffer Cache, which certainly sounds like it can do the job... especially since that word 'keep' is used again. But a keep pool is merely a segregated part of the buffer cache, into which you direct blocks from particular tables (by creating them, or altering them, with the BUFFER POOL KEEP clause). So you can tuck the blocks from such tables out of the way, into their own part of the buffer cache... but that is not the same thing as guaranteeing they'll stay there. If you over-populate the Keep Pool, then its LRU mechanism will kick in and age its contents out just as efficiently as an unsegregated buffer cache would.
Functionally, therefore, there can be no guarantees. The best you can do is create a sufficiently large Keep Pool, and then choose the tables that will use it with care such that they donâ€™t swamp themselves, and start causing each other to age out back to disk.

I Have always used Itunes for my music and for reasons beyond me Itunes has been freezing up and lately it has bringing a mate that reseambles a normal Windows error message but it's telling me that Itunes has to close and the program can't save anything due to lack of memory ? So I updated the program to Version 10.6 last night and while downloading songs and album artwork Today it froze up an brought his mate the message back. And Yet my Laptop is as tooled up as well as a bovver boy on his way to a riot With 16gb of ddr3 plus 2 x Nvidia Gtx 580m's In Sli. So by rights any type of multimedia should run as smooth as silk and i never thought i would have a program make use of 16gb of ram all by itself. So if anybody has been through it an come out on top instead of passing Itunes over for another program and can give any advice or a hint would be much Appreciated... Thanks to Anybody listening....

Becasue something got corrupted on the iPod. It happens sometimes. Just restore the iPod to factory settings/new iPod and then try restoring from your backup.

C6-00 lack of memory and warnings

hello, i have the last firmware, and only nokia software that came with nokia mobile... My c6-00 have a lack of memory ram, its annoying and unfair that i need to restart the mobile 12 hrs to 12 hours... Cause the mobile losses the ram too fast... The other thing that i think is unfair is when i use the ovi maps after i had restarted the mobile, in few minutes say memory full... Constantly saying then quit the problem. If some software do not work at all mobiles when we update (cause maybe is not prepared for ram of everyone mobiles), in the database would be usefull one server that read the mobile info to avoid this kind of problem. Cause neither mobiles have a good ram memory built in. I dont want to make reset or made format its quite stupid do things like that to see programs only working about 1 month... (i do not use simoultaneos programs when that warning appears)... If i was using other program instead ovi maps something similar appears. Its horrible. Heeeeelllllppppppp meeeeeeeeeeeeee ....

How do I delete apps when I cannot get the red x, I cannot update the iPad because of lack of memory space. I heard it was a bug in the last version of the op.system, any ideas?

I cannot update the iOS because of lack of memory (3.5 GB required). The apps cannot be deleted because I cannot get them red x in memory management or when they shake for reorganization. I heard this was a bug in the last update of the op. system. So what is the process?

DELETING APPS
Touch the app and hold your finger down until all the apps start to jiggle. You will see a circled "x" in the upper left corner. Tap it to delete an app. When done press the Home button.
You cannot delete any pre-installed iOS app.
If there is No 'X' on any apps you have Downloaded... then check in Restrictions...

If the lack of space on your phone is due to pictures, you may want to consider transferring some (or all) to a computer and deleting them from the phone. That is a good practice even if you have space on the phone. Instructions: http://support.apple.com/kb/ht4083

Disk storage issues frequently happen if the hard disc is over 85% full. Make sure your trash can is emptied after backing up any files you want to keep elsewhere.

Okay, so we've eliminated the lack of space since you have plenty.
See the screenshot from my Mac here:
Page ins and page outs - post those (or just post the same type of screenshot). If you have a lot of those, that means that your machine needs to keep swapping RAM around to make the best of what is available which can result in slow responses.
Also post the total amount of RAM you have (in my case, I have 12 GB)
You free RAM of 221 MB is very, very low - I'm guessing you only have a total of 2 GB. If that is the case, I would absolutely max out the machine (if you don't know how much RAM you can put in, post your model number here so we can help with that).

Itunes doesn't sync due to lack of memory

Hi, my iTunes doesn't synch my ipod touch anymore due to the fact that the ipod lacks the memory to import. In the past, it would make a special playlist for my ipod, but iTunes doesn't even give this option anymore.
Does anyone have an idea how i can force itunes to make this playlist again?

Open iTunes and create a playlist to update your iPod from, call it -My iPod for example (the dash will position it at the top of the playlists in Sources). You can make it a smart playlist that picks the songs for you or just a normal one and drag whatever content you want to have into the playlist. If you are making a smart playlist limit it to just less than the size of your iPod. Now connect your iPod and when it appears in the Source list click on the iPod icon to bring up the preference tabs in the main pane. Go to the Music tab and choose Sync Music and the Selected playlists radio button. Choose the playlist you just made from the selection and click Apply. You can also sync from any existing playlists by choosing the same setting, you just need to make sure that the size of the playlists don't exceed the capacity of your iPod:

To make a random playlist you could adapt this example to suit the capacity of your iPod (this one is for a 4GB Model). Go to File>New Smart Playlist.
Uncheck "Match the following rule"
Check "Limit to" put "3700" in the number box, choose "MB" from the first list box, choose "Random" from the next list box. Check "Live Updating"
When you want to change the selection in the smart playlist just delete everything in it and it will add a new selection. When you want to change the normal playlist just delete out what you don't want and drag in a new selection.

Not enough memory on startup disk to run applications with more than 200Gb free!!

I have a MacBook Pro final 2011 with 8 GB RAM and 500 GB disk with Mountain Lion OS X 10.8.5 and I'm using only 56% of my disk (over 276.5 GB). Nevertheless after some time my MAC starts to became slower until it opens a window with the message 'not enough memory on startup disk to run applications' and asking me to choose an application to stop! How can it be that 'not enough memory on startup disk' (espaço insuficiente no disco de inicialização) if I have more than 200 Gb free? Is there anything that can be done to solve that?

CI have a macbook 2.1 with 1GB of memory. What are my options for adding memory s I can upgrade to Lion? (I am running 10.5.8 now) and to icloud. I ve never been able to backup to idisk because of lack of memory also.

I have a macbook 2.1 with 1GB of memory. I have two issues- both related to lack of sufficient memory. Issue#1 is upgrade to LION requires more memory than I have and I d like to upgrade. Issue 2 is that when ever i try to backup to idisk I get a message telling me I need to remove some files from my start up disk to make room. I don t know what I can remove without creating problems. So I think I need to add memory. Is this possible?

You can upgrade to 10.6 with no problems. Any program that runs under 10.5 will run under10.6. You might have to upgrade some drivers for printers, etc.... Once you are at 10.6.8 you can buy Lion for $29 from the App Store if you have at least a model 2,1 MacBook. Lion will require at least 2gb of RAM but really needs 4gb to run smoothly. Also Lion doesn't run any Power PC programs. To see if you have any Power PC programs go to the Apple in the upper left corner and select About This Mac, then click on More Info.
