A LIST OF BB LINK ERRORS / FIXES

I am not a developer, but just a heavy user of contacts and wired synchronisation.
I have gone through a comprehensive exercise of transferring 9000+ contacts from Outlook to Blackberry Q10 (1-way sync), and then doing a 2-way sync (which should ideally have resulted in a message "nohthing to sync; all matching already"). But in stead the following changes occured. I am listing these so you know what to expect, and can come up with your own strategies to minimise BB Link messing around your data in unintended ways.
1) BB Link replaces "%" percent symbols with "%%" double percent symbols in all the WEBSITE and NOTES fields, possibly other fields too. How bizarre! Any explanations anyone?
2) The only other change made to NOTES field was that some non-printing characters were removed: an acceptable clean-up if again a time-waster + mystery creator.  (eg the end of every line used to have 2 characters before u get to the next line; not it just has one).
3) 'Email Type' and 'Email Display Address'
-where orphan values existed in Outlook (eg it had no email address but still showed "SMTP" for type, of showed some old stale 'display address') BB Link cleans this up nicely and removes them.
-where an email address exists, but Type and Display Address are missing, BB Link populates these freshly. Again nicely done.
- But this kind of minutia is probably what causes BB Link to take 1.5hrs to synch (vs few minutes for BB Desktop software before it)!!!
4) PHONE NUMBERS:
- I used to store the phone # of reception or switchboard in "work2" # and only people's direct lines in "work1" #.  Now BB10 devices do not recognise "work1" and "work2" but only has first, 2nd (and third?) instances of "work #", BB Link of MOVING all Work2 #s into Work1# slot of Outlook (if you did not already have a Work1 # saved there).
- Same thing with moving Home2# to Home1#.
- Painful but hopefully a one-time mass problem if you start using the BB convention going forward.
5) STREET ADDRESS:
- Business Street and Home Street fields have generally been shifted about. BB device (or Link) try to clean up the address so that it can be more 'map search friendly' i suspect.  Some parts of address data are lost in this process!!!  Thanks for trying, but no thanks BB!
Now I have 500 addresses to check / correct manually!
OVERALL: because the BB Link interface is SO rubbish and you get lost in BB Link reporting 1000s of instances of "Attachement Hash field" changes you cant detect all of the above without painful checking.
Any tips or comments welcome.

Finally, you should run DiskWarrior if your Mac explicitly warns you of a problem with your disk in the form of an error message. Most of these errors are reported by the built-in Disk Utility whether your Mac OS X version is 10.3 Panther, 10.4 Tiger, 10.5 Leopard, 10.6 Snow Leopard or 10.7 Lion. Here are some of the most common messages:
Disk Repair: The disk was not repairable by this computer. It is being made available to you with limited functionality. You must back up your data and reformat the disk as soon as possible.

Uninstall your existing copy of iTunes. Delete any copies of the iTunesSetup.exe (or iTunes64Setup.exe) installer files from your downloads areas for your web browsers and download a fresh copy of the iTunes installer from the Apple website:
    http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/
(The current build of the 11.1.4.62 installer was changed a few days ago, which fixed the bulk of the reports of MSVCR80.dll/R6034/APSDaemon.exe/Error-7/AMDS-could-not-start trouble ... but the build number on the installer was not changed. So we're trying to make sure you do the reinstall using a "new good" 11.1.4.62 installer instead of an "old bad".)
Does the install with the new copy of the installer go through properly? If so, does that clear up the error message?

  • How do I fix a "Unsatisfied link error"?

ProQuest provides a Java application for auto parts. It did function on my system [10.3.9 with all updates]. After logging in on a web site, a "jnlp" file is loaded to the desktop. Double clicking this file causes another download to load the auto parts database.
But now a, JAVA error Exception reads:
    java.lang.Unsatisfied Link Error: no hpwin32 in java.library.path
    However a similar file "hpwin32.dll" is in: user/Library/caches/JavaWeb Start/cache/http/Depe.startekinfo.com /... /RN client-native.jar/hpwin32.dll
I deleted the "Depe.startekinfo.com " folder, but it reappeared after logging into their site.

  • The broken link error

    Hi,
Please help me with this broken link error in Office Excel 2010. Thank you.
The problem is: a broken link cannot be removed from the file. The link was used in data validation, which refers to a list of values. After the path was corrected, it still shows there’s a broken link. Here are the details:
    I have 4 files named “000TVA_Test – 3”, “000TVA_Test – 4”, “000TVA_Test – 5”, and “000TVA_Test – 6”. The posterior files were developed based on the previous files.
In Test-3, sheet “Template “, cell “L4”, “O4”, “R4”… were built as dropdown list using data validation. The list source is in the “Library” worksheet. There’s no problem so far.
Test-4 was firstly copied from Test-3. In this file I renamed the worksheet from “Library” to “Setting” and the link was broken from here. I can also fix the broken link in this file. (While I didn’t realize there was a broken link.)
In Test-5 I fixed the path, but every time when opening the file, the broken link still shows.
In Test-6 I’ve removed the data validations. The broken link is still there.
I tried to find solutions online. I tried common methods, cannot find anything in the files is still using links. I also tried the “findlink.xla” add-in, but it only worked for Test-4, and couldn’t find the link in other files.
    Please help. Thank you!
    I uploaded files here: https://onedrive.live.com/redir?resid=1A97736E0ABBAA41!113&authkey=!AF5wAd9rwUPnYyE&ithint=folder%2cxlsm
    Thanks again!

    Hi,
Based on my tested the files downloaded, I found that Test-5 & Test-6 included the "A defined name that refers to an external workbook", Test-4 had not. (Please click Formula Tab>Name Manage, you'll see them.)
However, the Break Links command cannot break the following types of links:
A defined name that refers to an external workbook
A ListBox control with an input range that refers to an external workbook.
A DropDown control with an input range that refers to an external workbook.
http://support2.microsoft.com/kb/291984/en-us (It also applies to Excel 2010)
    Thus, we'd better try the workaround: re-build the Test-5 & Test 6.

  • Database Link Error

    Here is the scenario,
    1. Three databases, say DB_1, DB_2 and DB_3 are available in the system.
    2. Two database links are created , say LINK_A and LINK_B where LINK_A is to connect to DB_2 from DB_1 and LINK_B is to connect to DB_3 from DB_2.
    3. There is a table TABLE_1 available in DB_3 and the corresponding synonym DB3_TABLE_1 is created in DB_2. Also, a synonym DB2_DB3_TABLE_1 is created in DB_1 for the above said synonym (and not directly for the table in DB_3).
    4. In SQl*Plus of DB_1 , if use select statement like
    SELECT col_1, col_2...
    FROM DB2_DB3_TABLE_1
works fine and gives me the result without any error but if use this same statement inside a procedure in DB_1 I couldn't compile this procedure and I'm getting the following error:
"ORA-04054: database link LINK_B does not exist"
Why is this difference? Why I'm getting this error in the procedure but not in the SQL*Plus for the same type of statement?.
    Help would be appreciated.
    Thanks

How are the database links created - fixed, current, public?
Your options include to create a view on the DB_2 (and not a synonym).

  • My external hard drive won't mount and shows a 'sibling link error'. I've seached the forums but need a very dumbed down set of tips for the computer illiterate- help?

The forums have suggestions on this topic but I don't understand the lingo used.

Remember card catalogs in libraries?   The computer has its own card catalog that tells it where all the files are.  That's known as the directory.
Sibling link error indicates something is wrong with one of the cards, making the computer lost.  Now the computer will put forth a bunch of gobbledy gook to fix this error, but you can do it.
Since the issue is with the external hard disk, you must select it with Disk Utility's First Aid selected.   There you will repair the disk.   If it can't repair the disk, you will need to use a more powerful tool.  The question is, is your data backed up elsewhere, or is it not?  If it is not, the same symptoms of a bad directory can also implicate a dying hard drive.  You'll want a data recovery tool if you aren't backed up.  If you are backed up, and there is nothing that can't be replaced on that external hard drive, get Alsoft Disk Warrior.  This should fix most bad sibling link errors repair disk can't.  When it can't, you can give up on the external hard disk.
P.S. Permissions has NOTHING to do with the directory.  Do not worry about issues with permissions or attempting to repair it at this stage.

  • Invalid sibling link error

I have a 15" PB which gave an "invalid sibling link error" one month ago and I was not able to even repair it using DiskWarrior. I have Apple Care Protection plan, so I sent it for repairs and the repair guys replaced the motherboard as they suspected it was the reason. On return, I reformatted the HD and installed everything from stratch. Everything was working fine till last Saturday morning, when computer would not boot up. So I checked using Disk Utility from PB DVD, and the dreaded "invalid sibling error" came up again. Since I have a bootable backup of the HD, I formatted the HD and tried to load the system on the HD from the backup copy. But the writing of backup using CCC hung up and I had to quit it. After that I was not able to find the HD using Disk Utility from DVD.
I have sent it for repairs again, but can anyone help me understand the core problem here. Since last time they replaced the motherboard, I think they will replace the HD this time around. Is the logic board, motherboard or the HD that is the root cause of the problem?
    Powerbook G4   Mac OS X (10.4.7)   100GB HDD, 1.5GB RAM

I had never heard of "invalid sibling link error" until you post, and when I ran a search on it the best explanation I could find is that it is a directory-related problem. See the following (assuming it is correct): http://www.computing.net/mac/wwwboard/forum/2584.html The suggestion there, though, is that DIsk Warrior should be able to fix the problem, and you've already told us that you tried using Disk Warrior on it and it did not work.
Very puzzling. Please post back what happens when you get your PB back from being repaired.
    Good luck.

  • Patch linking error

    Hi hussein,
I often encouter patch linking error like the ff:
An error occurred while relinking application programs.
Contunue as if it were successful [No] : YesAnd I always respond to it as "Yes". Is there any bad implications in doing this?
How do I manually relink the programs again.
    Thanks
    msk

    Hi,
I can not keep track anymore which program got relink error, so adadmin relink everything? You can relink any executable file via adadmin or manually. However, I would not recommend you skip the error as the issue could be relevant to main executable files which are used by the application (for example, if the patch fails to relink "f60webmx" executable file, you will not be able to login to the application). Always try to fix the error before proceeding with the patch (unless it can be afforded).

  • JNI Unsatisfied Link Error

    Hello All:
I have some java code that calls a C function in a dll. I have succesfully used the javah utility to generate the header file for my jni native implementation code and have build both the client java code as well as the dll using g++3.0 using Bloodshed Dev C++ (an open source IDE). When I go to execute the java code I get an unsatisfied link error saying my function is not recognized by the jvm. Does anyone have any suggestions on this issue?? I am using Win2k and jdk 1.4.1
Here is what I've already tried:
    1) Have added the directory where the java class file as well as the dll to my PATH variable, I have even put the dll files in the jdk bin directory
    2) My dll loads three other dll's and calls a function in one of those dll's, I am using the loadLibrary function to load these dll's and am using function pointers to reference the actual function in the dll
I was wondering if its a problem if I use g++ to build my dll, does the virtual machine assume by default that gcc is used, please let me know.
    Any help is much appreciated
    Thanks

I've looked through the various postings on this issue and have tried some or all of the suggestions that were made relevant to my problem but I still keep getting this error. As a result I am attaching some code here:
