A list of most played songs for a spesific periode

Hey
I wonder how i can create a playlist that shows a list of the most played songs for a spesific periode. I want to see for ex which songs have been played most in January 09, and how many time that month.
I tried like with the type of playlist that is shown in the picture above, but it only shows my most played songs of all time that has been played in the period,but not the songs that have been played most in that period, and how many times(^^)....
Hope someone understood, and knows how to create this playlist which would be wonderful!

Can't do it. iTunes only keeps track of the last played date, not every date it was played.

First thought: Have you used the same Apple ID for all the purchases you're talking about? If not, that could cause an issue.
Assuming you've used the same Apple ID all the way through everything you're talking about, here's the second set of questions:
When you say you can't play the songs from the iPhone playlist, can you see the playlist on the iPhone? Is the song visible in the playlist? Is it visible under "Songs" in iTunes on your iPhone? Is it visible in "Albums" on your iPhone? Is the song in iCloud?

How to get top 25 most played songs on my iPhone?

There is a smart playlist, "Top 25 Most Played" on both my laptop and my iPhone, and they are in sync. But it appears it is getting this data from iTunes on my laptop rather than my phone. That is, even if I listen to "Smooth Operator" by Sade 1000 times on my PHONE, the number of plays is still set to the number of times I've listened to it on my LAPTOP.
This is completely worthless to me, because I don't listen to music through the weak sauce MacBook Air speakers, I listen to it on headphones or in a dock on my phone.
Please tell me there's a way to get the 25 most played songs on my PHONE rather than my LAPTOP.

In your playlists it has to be listed as one. If not you will never have a Top 25 :C

It sounds like you are using iTunes Radio, and the songs only play for 30 seconds or so. I recommend starting by signing out of the iTunes Store:
Choose Store > Sign In (or Sign Out).
From: iTunes 11 for Mac: Manage your iTunes Store account

Then restart your computer:
Choose Apple menu > Restart.

Wish List - New Feature - Mark Songs for Deletion on iPhone

It'd be very handy if you could mark a song for deletion on the iphone and then when you next sync your iphone, the marked songs will get removed.
You could also have an option in itunes to say whether you want the songs to be deleted from comp too.
There's been plenty of times where I've copied a CD to my iphone but don't get a chance to go through the songs. Then when I'm listening to the album on my iphone, I have to skip some songs and then remember to delete them from my itunes later (which I rarely ever remember to do)

Itunes plays song for 10 seconds then skips to next song and so on....

I recently acquired a macbook (love it). However I have one issue, I imported all my music off my windows formatted ipod, and then formatted my Ipod for Mac. Everything plays fine, however I have one major issue. Some (not all) of the songs in itunes play for about 10 seconds and then jump to the next song. if I skip ahead past this 10 second barrier, the song plays fine . This happens on my itunes as well as my ipod.
Anyhelp would be greatly appreciated

ITunes 7.2 Playing Songs -Won't Stop Playing Songs For About 30 Seconds

Since updating, when playing a song from itunes, will start to play. If I do not stop the song in the first few seconds it plays for at least 20-30 seconds and the spinning beach ball appears. My iPod is malfunctioning and i do not trust to synch with iTunes. This is a brand new library - complete new system install. Welcome to the Digital Age..Any help or similiar experiences??

What are the alternatives for portable music?? I just want something that works and is REALIABLE! All my iPods have needed repair or where replaced by Apple.

Depending upon what country that you are in (music can't be re-downloaded in all countries) then try deleting that track from your iTunes library and redownload it via the Purchased link under Quicklinks on the right-hand side of the iTunes store home page on your computer's iTunes.

hi i have ipod photo when i play a song it works for like 20 sec then just cuts out then trys to goto another song.

For Mac computer
1. Open the disk utility, hope your iPod appears there (left hand side), highlight it
2. Go to Tab “Partition”, click either “Delete” or “Partition”, if fails, skip this step and go to 3
3. Go to Tab “Erase” , choose Volume Format as “MAC OS Extended (Journaled), and click Erase, again if fails, skip it and go to 4
4. Same as step 3, but open the “Security Options....” and choose “Zero Out Data” before click Erase. It will take 1 to 2 hours to complete.
5. Eject your iPod and do a Reset
6. Open the iPod Updater and click “Restore”
For Window computer
Go to folder “My Computer”
Hope you can see your iPod there and right click on the iPod
Choose “Format”. Ensure the settings are at “Default” and that “Quick Format” is not checked
Now select “Format”
Eject your iPod and do a Reset
Open the iPod Updater and click “Restore”
In case you do not manage to do a “Format” on a window computer, try to use some 3rd party disk utility software, e.g.“HP USB Disk Storage Format Tool”.

Songs In My "Most-Played" Playlist That Shouldn't Be

Okay, this is a weird one to try to explain, so please bear with me. On my iPod classic, I have a smart playlist I created called "Top 2000 Most Played Songs," which is, obviously, a playlist of the top 2000 most played songs on my iPod. Being a smart playlist, it always updates as play-counts change. When I look at this playlist in iTunes, it is all perfect and has all the right songs. When I look at this playlist on my iPod, it has about five or six songs at the bottom of the list that should not be there... i.e., they are songs that used to be in the top 2000 most played, but have since been pushed out by other songs. However, the playlist clearly only has 2000 songs on it, so there are five or six songs missing that are supposed to be there. However, the songs that are missing are not the most recent additions, because I have been able to find them in the playlist. So I don't know what is missing. I have tried copying to play order, and it still has those five or six songs at the end of the playlist. I don't want those songs on the playlist. Why is it doing this?

The most likely thing is that your songs that you expect to appear in the bottom of the list, still don't have more play-counts than others.
What you are trying to say is that iTunes does not updates your playlist. So try the experiment. Activate "Plays" column in iTunes. Connect ipod, let it syncronize. Look at the bottom of the list, see what is there. How many counts for the songs you expect in the list? More than for the others? Less or equal? As I see in my library, the songs in the bottom have the same play-counts, some of them will be in the list, some not (alphabetically?)
Then disconnect ipod and check the playlist on the device.
Also you can add new conditions to your smartlist to filter bad songs.

PLEASE HELP | ~ New apple user ~ How to add "most played" list

Hi all.
Ive never bought anything from apple untill the 160 gb ipod classic. Ive been using itunes but now with the iPod I was looking a bit how things work.
Now ive found out I don't seem to have a playlist on my iPod with the most played songs. Ive connected the iPod with itunes and made a smart playlist with played on 25. Now the list is there but there are only 24 songs in it and it isn't showing the ammount of how many times ive played them.
Now ive inspirated this playlist by many other older iPods ive seen but never owned where there is, somehow, a playlist with the most played song.
is this just simply impossible?
Also, I was wondering if itunes updates itself after conntecting (so it would update - for example - the ratings that have changed on my iPod.

Most Played Smart playlist problem

i have a smart playlist that has my 500 most played songs. when i have my ipod hooked up to my computer, it has the playlist in the correct order but when i am using my ipod the playlist shows it in the order that i originally started the playlist in. for example, when i made the list my top five songs went: brand new, jojo, forever in fall, brand new, weezer. and it still shows it in that order on my ipod. but it should now read: brand new, jojo, jojo, weezer, mae.
now here is the weird thing, if i play a song enough it will get added to that playlist. so i can play songs enough to get them on the playlist but it cant get it in the correct order it seems.
any help? BTW i manually update my ipod.

picked a lower song and just played it over and over.
it still stayed in the same place.
i hooked it up to the computer and the most played playlist said that it was the number one most played song.
i then hit copy to play order and sync then unplugged ipod.
looked at playlist and it was right.
BUT, isnt there a way for the playlist to be updated without having to hook it up the my computer and having to do the copy play order and sync?

Is there a way to create a smart playlist that lists my top 25 plays from a specific time period (i.e. - top plays from the last 90 days)?

Is it possible to create an itunes smart playlist that lists my top 25 most played songs in a specific time period (i.e. - the last 90 days)? It seems that any "most played" list I create counts every spin a track has had in it's history of being in my library.

The challenge is is not to determine which of the tracks that have been played in the last X days has been played most since the beginning of time, but which have been played most in the last X days. iTunes can do the first one but it simply doesn't have the power to do the second.

Most Played Playlist Problem

When I create a 50 most played playlist and sync to my ipod it shows the 50 least played. Any fix for this. running 3.1.3 on an 1st gen touch and 10.6.6 on my macbook. iTunes ver. 10.2.2

25 most played

Hi,
New ipod touch for Christmas, is there a way of seeing how many plays each song in the '25 most played' has had and can they be put in order from top played to least? At the moment they are random, the one I figure to be most played is in the middle, all the rest seem to be just randomly placed and there is no way of seeing how many plays each song has had. I know on itunes on my desktop the numbers can be seen.

Once again, thanks for your help, but this has also not solved my issue. The playlist in iTunes shows the least played songs, which copies correctly to my iPod, which also shows the least played songs.
EDIT: My apologies, creating a least played playlist has solved my issue and my iPod now displays the 25 Most Played songs in the Least Played playlist.
Surely there is a fix for this though? I have informed Apple of this issue, but does anyonw know of a fix or why this issue exists?
