A little help for HDMI sound output.

I have an HP Pavilion HPE Series. Pavilion H8-1214 PC
I bought an HDMI cord several months back, to hook up my TV as a second monitor (like for watching movies) and worked fine for some time up until last night when when I tried to update my drivers (like graphics) since it seemed like on certain sites or games it was slow or unresponsive (like facebook games). Now I can't get the audio to work for my TV (the HDMI output) as you can see in the screen shot I took.

I have tried returning to an older restore point - that helped temporarily until I turned my computer on today and realized I still had that problem. I have tried uninstalling that particular driver and reinstalling it - doesn't help, tried disabling and re-enabling - doesn't help.
The only way it seems to work is when I turn the TV on first and then restart my PC, but that is kind of a hassle since when I want to watch a show or movie I have to restart instead of just turning it on and setting TV as "default device" in "Playback Devices" like I did before.
Is there a way to fix this? Please help. Thanks in advance.

Install the HP posted AMD graphics driver for your PC. It's not uncommon for HP to use a propriety graphics driver.

I have two little problems and I think they doesn't deserve their own thread:
1. When I start my laptop with HDMI cable from my external display plugged in, it is recognized as sound output even the display does not have any.

It is also taken as primary sound output for every app - chrome (youtube eg.) or vlc... Is there a way how I can disable this behaving? When I boot without HDMI plugged in and then i connected to laptop, everything works fine (primary is my ALC269VC. Only reboots helps.

When I boot laptop with USB plugged in, mouse is not responding (even it is recognized by lsusb). I have to plug it out and then plug it in. Then it works.

It is flashed? or it is a straight PC card. And while there is support (you probably want to check other threads and sites and wait a day to upgrade to 10.8.3) some PC cards will not act and behave the same as say under Windows.
I would contact MacVidCards (ebay and MacRumors forum) and see if he can flash it or knows more.

I have 3 wire connection Green Line out (front) Black line out 2 (rear) and Orange line out 3 (center subwoofer) These connect from the back of the sound card directly into the subwoofer. Green (front) black (rear) orange (center subwoofer)
My old sound card RealTek`AC97 worked fine and I had sound in all my speakers. Yes I have removed the old card and un-installed the old drivers for it. Support have to go over some things first to make sure you've tried them. If it hasn't helped, just mail them back and let them know. It sounds like like you have the settings correct (CMSS, 5. in speaker selection), so there must be something wrong in the installation or configuration of the software.
The CleanBoot troubleshooting page on Microsoft's Kbase might help, although, it sounds like you covered a clean install aswell so that would normally help.

Registers as HDMI sound output?

Hi, I am using a Macbook Pro 13 in Retina. I have been using an HDMI cord to plug sound in, but after disconnecting the HDMI cord... my Mac still is registering the HDMI cord as the primary sound output?
There is no sound even when I plug the HDMI cord now. I have restarted the computer multiple times. Help!

HDMI sound output problem with gtx670

Hello again!
I have recently purchased a brand new Samsung TA550 LED monitor to use with my Mac Pro desktop. My Pro posesses a GTX 670 graphics card with (obviously) an HDMI output channel. The thing is, when i plug the hdmi cable on the card and on the monitor and configure the monitor for the appropriate video settings, there is no audio. Then I go to the system preferences ----- sound------ output, and there are no options for hdmi or my tv/monitor.

2010 mac mini hdmi sound output

Hi,
i have following audio setup via hdmi of my mac mini:
mac mini -> yamaha rx-v 665 -> philips tv
If only the receiver is turned on i have it as display and hdmi audio output device with 8-ch sound output. But as soon as i turn on my tv, my mac mini switches the sound output to my tv with only 2-ch sound output.
Anyone an idea how to prevent switching my mac mini to the tv sound output?

I am trying to get my Mac Mini (2010) to use the speakers I have connected for my Samsung 40" TV through my Yamaha receiver as well. I connected to the TV to my Mini via HDMI thinking it would take care of video AND audio, but I cannot get the audio to function. Do I need to connect from the headset port to my receiver? If so, into which port?
My dream of making the mini and TV combo is taking a hit.

Please Help! HDMI sound playing from laptop and NOT the TV

Synopsis: Installed Windows 8.1 on new SSD on my Toshiba P75-A7200. I stalled all the drivers from Toshiba website. Everything works except now my HDMI audio does not play on TV play from laptop. I reinstalled the original v. of Intel HD Graphics 4600 and Conexant Smart Audio HD drivers. I also looked in the volume control panel and sound playback options looking for HDMI setting with no luck. Has anyone encountered this? OR have an idea how to get my audio working with HDMI cable to TV?
I checked different HDMI cables to be sure it wasn't a bad cable.

No HDMI sound output to TV

I've tried looking around for help on this, but nothing seems to solve the problem. Long story short...when I bought my Droid Bionic a few days ago, I also bought an HDMI cable for the phone. When I plugged in the phone to my Sony television, I got great video but no sound. I believe I've tried everything to get the sound to work(the tv's HDMI output is used by my PS3 and there's nothing wrong with that sound). Did I perhaps buy a cheap generic cable or am I missing something in the phone's configuration? Any help will be greatly appreciated.

One last thing to note; shortly after my last response, I took my bionic into the other room and plugged it into my 32 inch Samsung flat screen TV(only about a year old). It work on the first try, which leads me to believe that my 5 year old Sony rear projection television may not work with this phone when it comes to sound. That rules out a bad hdmi cable. Too bad, because I'd rather play Angry Birds on a 50 inch screen than a 32 inch screen. Oh well, I'll just have to make the sacrifice for now. Thanks again!!!

Help! No sound output...

I have reached the end of my wits trying to get this stuff working. Please help...
I am using a Lynx Aurora 8 with an LT-FW (firewire 400) interface and have apparently managed to be able to input sound and record audio successfully, but as of yet have not been able to playback ANYTHING so that I can use the outputs on the interface. I made sure I had the right driver as far as I could tell and it seems to work since I can see the wave I recorded, also the sound seems to pass through the system as I can get feedback from the microphone that I am using to record with. I've updated the firmware on the Aurora 8 so it will work with the LT-FW card. Nothing seems to fix the problem. Maybe I'm an idiot who is missing something obvious.
I have used the Aurora 8 with a Lynx AES-16 on my PC for months and it works fine. I would love to be able to use the Logic Pro 7.2 that I've had for almost a year now (waiting to finally get the LT-FW card to use it with). What am I doing wrong? Any ideas?

Well you got it to record, and you see a waveform, and you hear sound with feedback from the mic, right.. This is good! Now, make sure that the I/O is routed properly.
*Chose Input 1 in the 'Input' box under the label I/O on the channel fader strip and Output 1-2 in the 'Output' box just beneath that.*
1-click the 'Rec' button on the fader ('Rec' button flashing red)
2-Talk into the mike. +(If you monitor through the hardware or zero latency software, skip to step 4.)+
3-Now turn up the 'record' fader and you should hear the mike sound that goes through the computer.
*If there's no sound then the 'software monitoring' should be enabled in the Aurora 8's audio driver in the 'Audio Hardware and Drivers' window from the 'Audio' pull down menu at the top of Logics row of windows.*
4-Record, talking into the mic to the track for a few seconds.
5-Press 'Rec' button to deactivate record ('Rec' button not flashing red)
6-Turn up what is now the 'playback' fader.
7-Rewind and press Play and you should hear your track play back.
Be aware of master output faders and make sure they are up.
If you get stuck on something just repost, we'll help you figure it out!

HDMI Sound Output

I am using a Samsung TV as a 2nd monitor connected with HDMI, and my sound will output ONLY through the television even though I have an external device (Apogee Quartet) selected in sound preferences. Any tips?
I am using a mid 2014 13inch Macbook Pro with Yosemite.

Long shot, but...
Open Audio Midi Setup in Applications>Utilities, see the input & output options & KHz setting there, some things will change it for their own use, then not set it back.

Little Help Recording INternal Sounds

See I Just Recently Crossed over to Mac from sshh a (PC)... Well, I used to use a program called Cool Edit to assist me for my Radio show that I run. Now the benifit of CoolEdit that I can Not seem to Get with GargeBand is... RECORDING INTERNAL SOUNDS... like I can record with the built in mic, but I want to Record The sounds Made on my CPU and the CPU Only... EG... If I want a SoundBite from an FINISHED BURNED CD... I WOULD JUST hit record and be able to Record it. I dont want the Mic to Pic up anything OUTSIDE I just want it to Record the noise that goes on in the CPU.... If any one can Help I would Appreciate it...

I can get a subtotal for each Material, batch and GR date combination by using the ALV grid functionality.
This method adds too much clutter to my query and can't be easily manipulated in Excel afterwards for what I want. I want to condense the results down and just keep a cumulated available stock, e.g:

Please try to use STATISTICS in your SAP Query. you can sort and add your value based on condiiton then it will be show you collect value in SQ01.

Little help finding a Sound setting?

Hi there,
Can anyone tell me where I turn off that really LOUD sound my MacPro makes when i turn it on? It sounds like a triumphant "TA-DAH!!!" horn blast and it kills me first thing in the morning.
If i go to Sys. Prefs and click on Sound, I have the following settings:
1. On the "Sound Effects" tab I have selected many different Alert sounds but this wake-up call never changes.
2. I play alerts and sound fx through "selected output device" which is chosen on the "output" tab.
3. All 3 checkboxes are selected below that. (maybe it's the one that says play alerts. i'll try that next)
4. And on the Output tab I've chosen "line out" which is my desktop/standalone speaker set up. With those turned off, the bugle blow still happens when i turn on my computer.

I did the same settings and I can change the volume of the startup sound with the control „Gesamtlautstärke“ (don't know, what it's called in English) – it's the control on the bottom of the „Sound Effects“ tab

Need help for HDMI, USD and Ethernet example SoC for VC707

I'm developin an SoC with HDMI, USB and Ethernet interfaces.
In this USB and Ethernet interfaces are not working.
Can i get any example SoC's for above mentiones IPS.

Am I trying to do something that is not possible with the open source driver ? start a game in wine 32bit?
Or maybe the problem is in one of the libraries ?
I did mess around with the catalyst before, but the 2d was so bad that I decided not to even try the 3D watching a movie was impossible at a decent fps O.o
And I do believe that I removed all and re-installed Open Source libraries + drivers properly. Is there a definitive way to check ?
