A little help please: lost wireless connection days ago

Here's an interesting problem I could really use some help with (I've been working on it for many hours over the past week):
I have a DLink 624 (vC - firmware 2.7) wireless cabled to my iMac G4 (running 10.4.4) that serves as a wireless network in the house. I've got a pc laptop in another room connected to the wirelesss (or anyone else that drops by the house). Its actually all gone very smoothly from installing the wireless router to connecting other laptops to it. I've seen a number of folks mention that the 624 hasn't been a favorite but I haven't had any problems until now.
Over the past few days I've been trying, without any success, to connect my kid's iBook G4 to the wireless network. It had been working ok until I upgraded the iBook to 10.4. Then the connection went toes up.
I've checked the discussion threads and came across a person who had a similar issue with the DL 624 (Oct 24, '05) but there wasn't a solution.
The problems I've encountered with the iBook over the past few days:
- tried using the Apple setup assistant for the internet - no luck
- reset and tried all the network connection options (via system preferences). - when I set it to "Airport" it actually knocks my iMac (with its direct ethernet connection to the router) off the internet! That seems really odd.
- reset all the preferences and tried a direct ethernet connection from the router to the iBook - no change.
- powered down and re-set from scratch the DLink router back to the iMac hoping I'd snag the iBook - no luck there either.
I also trashed the "com.apple.networkConfig.plist" in Library>Preferences but no luck after I reset everything again.

I think it is the last airport up date. I have a bunch that started not to conecton thursday.

Need a little help please.
I am trying to set up a wireless network at my home using Airport Express.
I have a regular phone line running in to I assume the modem. From there, there is an Ethernet cable running from that box to the back of the PC. My question is, I think, which of those do I unplug and plug into the Airport Express, the one on the back of the PC or the one that is in the back of the modem, or is this totally wrong.
Any help would be appreciated…

PS I have the manual but to me it is not very clear…

Your connection sequence would look like this:
Internet > Modem > AirPort Express >>>wireless to your computers.
This means that you would unplug the cable that is now connected at the back of your PC and move that connection to the AirPort Express.
Open Macintosh HD > Applications > Utilities > AirPort Utility
Click Continue to follow the guided setup. On the third page, you will choose the option to "Create a wireless network" and continue the setup.

PB G4 17-inch lost wireless connection!?!

Execute me if my question have existed!
I searched all this box but seem I didn't find a best solution for my problem.
My problem is :
The PB G4 17-inch always lost wireless connection when I don't use for minutes and it goes to sleep mode!
I want to share files with my friend throws wireless connection but I don't need use laptop all times.
Have anyone meet this problem befored? Did you solve it?

Im having the same problem. My Netgear used to connect wirlessly to the network and the inernet, now all it connects to is the network. And comes back with an error saying not connected to the internet.
The only way I can use the internet now is through the Ethernet connection out of the Netgear.

I'm not familiar with HH (I use a third party router) but it looks as though the HH is set to NOT broadcast the SSID. I'm sure that if you go into the HH settings (the address foe the HH should be 192.168.1.254) you should find somewhere a check box or whatever that allows the router to b'cast the SSID or not. Some would argue that you should not b'cast the SSID but IMHO it makes no difference as the SSID is so easy to discover even if it's not being b'cast.
Just another thought is that you might have to set the wireless connection up as a separate connection to the wired connection. I don't know which OS you are using but if Win 7 then go into 'Network and Sharing centre' and then select 'connect to a network' and take it from there. If not on Win 7 then, if I recall correctly, right click on the networking icon in the system tray and there should be an option to connect to a network.
Hope this helps, if not then I'm sure there are other HH users on this forum who will provide advice.

Satellite L500 - Lost wireless connection

My Satellite L500 recently lost wireless connection. I looked up the Realtek wireless device in Device Manager, and it says the device is working properly. I have tried using "ping 192.168.1.1" to reach the router, and I get "Transmit error - general failure".
Any ideas?

You should try a WLAN driver update that you can download on official Toshiba page:
http://aps2.toshiba-tro.de/wlan/
If you still cannot find or connect to WLAN networks disable the WLAN power saving mode in Windows power profiles. You have to set it to maximum performance.

Guys, a little help please before i launch my new toys out of my pram I've got the new apple TV, Ipad2, and IOS5 update. I'm trying to set up mirrorring , however, when i double click the home page and swipe, the only options it gives me are Ipad or Apple TV. The video shows that i should be able to simply click on mirrorring and whazam it appears on my TV... I can't get this option.... I've rebooted them (router, ipad 2 and Apple Tv) numerous times but still can't get it.......Can someone tell me what I'm doing wrong?

Sounds as though the options you're getting are the standard Airplay output icons.
Check current AppleTV software version in Settings>General>About
Latest is 4.4.2 - there's a sticky at the top of the page about updating - if you're on 4.3 or lower just update from Settings.
Maybe someone can confirm the video you mention is actually the correct way to invoke mirroring - link?

Your phone is carrier locked to a carrier other than the one you are trying to use.
It was apparently hacked to unlock it prior to your attempt to update. Updating has re-locked it to the original carrier.
Contact them and find out what their policy is.

Did you solve your printer connection problem? I have the same issue. When I first turn the system on, it is connected. But after a short time (a few minutes?) it loses connection between Mac and printer, even tho both are connected to my WIFI. I have to turn the printer and and off to reconnect it to the Mac. Very frustrating. I have checked Netgear, Printer and Mac settings and can't find any explanation.

Did you power off everything?? Power off printer, power off router. Power on router, wait 2 mins. Power on printer to see it connects to your router.

My WRT610N has lost wireless connectivity. Any sugestions?

This morning I got up and my wireless was not working on my WRT610N. My desktop and printer that are connected with my Ethernet cables are connected but everything else that is wireless will not connect. I have tried unplugging everything and doing restarts but it doesn't help. Any help please. My warranty expired a few weeks ago.

Thanks, but still no luck. Ive tried in both Windows 7 and XP. In W7 i get the "Windows was unable to connect" message. In XP nothing happens it just doesnt connetc. Ive checked the security settings and they are all rigth. Is my router malfunctioning?

For me its definitively not a notebook issue because on the other notebook you have a problem with the wireless connection too.
Its not so easy to say what the reason is for this
In your case I would try the command line the command ipconfig /renew
Does it work?
If it doesnt work you should try to disconnect the router from the AC/DC adaptor for at least 5 minutes. Then connect the AC/DC adaptor again and try it.

Printer lost wireless connection

Photosmart 6510 B211a (Windows 7 64-bit) worked well 3 days ago. Now, error message shows no wireless connection. No changes in OS. Did the recommended troubleshooting. Wireless network test results show "no problems found." Shows wireless on and working, signal excellent; connectivity passed; network name found; printer settings consistent with wireless router seettings (belkin.7bd). Tried uninstalling HP software and reinstalling; still no connection found.
At my wits end. Anything else I should do?

OK, are you using security software that may have a firewall associated with it? If so, disable the firewall temporarily as a test.

For WLAN functionality you must install WLAN driver and be sure WLAN card is listed properly in device manager. Please check this. It must be listed under network adapters.
If you will found unknown device there it can be missing WLAN card. So visit Toshiba WLAN portal and install win7 WLAN driver.
After doing this test the functionality. if you still have problem please let us know.
