A lot of albums in the store that are duplicates...WHY???

I'm on a shopping spree of songs (since I got a number of free song credits) and I was searching through Bob Dylan's albums. A good number of his albums have duplicates. They seem to be exactly the same but are listed twice (Freewheelin' and Nashville Skyline). Same thing with some Madonna albums (True Blue). Why is this happening because I can't decide which one to download. And I am not confusing regular editions with deluxe editions, these are truly the same albums.

Sometimes they are in more than one genre (pop and rock, or folk and rock, etc). But I've recalled a few lately that do seem to be complete duplicates, and not like the above examples. If the track times are the same for the songs you want on these multiple albums, I'd imagine either choice will be okay!

  • ITunes 7.0.2.16 Cannot Find Album In the Store That iTunes 6.0.13 Can Find?

    Hi,
I have iTunes 7.0.2.16 installed on a PC running Windows XP Pro and tried to look for an album called 'Phil Wickham' in the store and it could not find it. It only returned one song sung by the artist Phil Wickham. However I have iTunes 6.0.13 on another PC also running Windows XP Pro and did the same search and it found the entire album in the store. Does anyone have that problem?
    Would apprecate any help.
    Thanks.
      Windows XP Pro

    sojourner,
On the machine that can not find the album, go to the main page of the iTunes Store, and scroll down to the bottom.
Is the country in the pull down correct? If not change it, and that should resolve the issue.
    Hope this helps,
    Nathan C.

  • ITunes Store would not allow me to purchase an album. The store said that I needed to answer a security question.  I had not sent answers to ant security questions previous

I have been using iTunes for almost two years.  I went to purchase an album and the store would not allow me to purchase until I had answered security questions.  I had never given answered to any questions previously.  So i didn't know the correct answer.  What do I need to do?

If you have a rescue email address (which is not the same thing as an alternate email address) set up on your account then go to https://appleid.apple.com/ and click 'Manage your Apple ID' on the right-hand side of that page and log into your account. Then click on 'Password and Security' on the left-hand side of that page and on the right-hand side you should see an option to send security question reset info to your rescue email address.
If you don't have a rescue email address (you won't be able to add one until you can answer 2 of your questions) then you won't get the reset option - you will need to contact iTunes Support or Apple to get them reset.
e.g. you can try contacting iTunes Support : http://www.apple.com/support/itunes/contact/ - click on Contact iTunes Store Support on the right-hand side of the page, then Account Management , and then 'Forgotten Apple ID security questions'
or try ringing Apple in your country and ask to talk to the Accounts Security Team : http://support.apple.com/kb/HE57
When they've been reset (and if you don't already have a rescue email address) you can then use the steps half-way down this page to add a rescue email address for potential future use : http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5312 . Or, if it's available in your country, you could change to 2-step verification : http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5570

  • TS3297 iphone will let me download apps but wont let me update the apps that are already downloaded. I get message saying that my iphone cant connect to itunes store. What should I do?

im trying to fix this and have already synced my phone with itunes and restarted my phone, but nothing is working. does anyone know how to fix this?

If only some of the songs on an album are giving you the authorisation message, that suggests those song files are damaged.
If your country's iTunes Store allows you to redownload purchased tracks, I'd delete your current copies of the dodgy tracks and try redownloading fresh copies. For instructions, see the following document:
Downloading past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store
Otherwise, I'd report the problem to the iTunes Store.
Log in to the Store. Click on "Account" in your Quick Links. When you're in your Account information screen, go down to Purchase History and click "See all".
Find the items that are not playing properly. If you can't see "Report a Problem" next to the items, click the "Report a problem" button. Now click the "Report a Problem" links next to the items.

I have a Mac 10.5.8 op system.  My Contacts do not syn with I cloud.  Trying to get my address book complete on both systems and now I have lots of duplicates on I cloud adress book.  How do I efficiently merge the duplictes that are now on I cloud?

You cannot use iCloud with Leopard 10.5.8. The minimum requirement is Lion 10.7.2. If you have been syncing your contacts with iCloud you can only have been doing it by some sort of unsupported hack, and if it doesn't work it's unlikely to be possible to find an explanation. If you have been using other (compliant) devices by trying to sync using both iTunes and iCloud you are likely to get duplicates.
A computer old enough running Leopard may well not be upgradeable to Lion or Mountain Lion, but if you can do so this is the only way you are going to be able to make proper use of iCloud.
    The requirements for Lion are:
Mac computer with an Intel Core 2 Duo, Core i3, Core i5, Core i7, or Xeon processor
    2GB of memory
    OS X v10.6.6 or later (v10.6.8 recommended)
    7GB of available space
To purchase it you will have to ring Apple at the number given at the bottom left of this page.
The requirements for Mountain Lion are listed here:
    http://www.apple.com/osx/specs/
It is available from the Mac App Store (in Applications). (If you are currently pre-Snow Leopard you will have to upgrade to that to access the Mac App Store: it's available in the online Apple Store.)
You should be aware that PPC programs (such as AppleWorks) will not run on Lion or above; and some other applications may not be compatible - there is a useful compatibility checklist at http://roaringapps.com/apps:table

  • How can I erase a photo album that was uploaded from an old computer that I don't have no more? I have other albums in the Iphone that I don't want to delete.

How can I erase a photo album that was uploaded from an old computer that I don't have no more? I have other albums in the Iphone that I don't want to delete.

If you sync with the new computer it will erase the current content from the iphone and replace with the selected content of the new computer.
The pics that you have taken with the iphone should be imported regularly to your computer as you would with any digital camera.  You can then organize them and sync them back to the iphone if you wish.
If you have had itunes perform a backup on the new computer, you should get the pics taken with the iphone back, but I would import them before trying anything.

  • Apps in the store that have zero reviews, yet 4.5 million downloads

"I see many apps in the store that have zero reviews, yet they are top of the list as displayed by Apple.
One caught my eye as there own website claims 4.5 million unique downloads. Yet the same app has no reviews in the App store?
What gives? I may not be one to dolots of  reviews but after 4.5 million surely a few people would have bothered to send in a review?
No link to software as I do not want to be accused of promoting it.
So whats the point of a review system if you don't publish them?

That's just great, defend the app by insinuating that the purchasers are stupid.  To answer your question of what else one might need --
    1)  The portion of the title that is first presented to the user should make it clear that the app is not Microsoft Word 2010.
    2)  The icon should not contain the W in the blue box.
Here, for example, we have a legitimate book on Microsoft Word, namely "Word 2010 for Dummies."  Notice that the images on the cover are totally different from Microsoft's icon.

It sounds like either your hard drive or the SATA cable that connects it to the motherboard are failing. This could be heat related in your case, which is why you see it after it runs awhile. You can take it to the Genius Bar for a free evaluation. If you decide to test it yourself, I usually suggest moving the hard drive to an external enclosure. If it works there for awhile, the cable is probably the issue.

I have purchased two movies on the store that at the time were unable to download, due to a full start up disc. I have now freed up the space and the remainder of the movies won't download. It gives me the error code 8003. I have a good network connection and the space for the movies, but cant seem to get it to work. Anysuggestions? It doesnt even let me delete the downloads and start again.

    1. iTunes won't offer cloud downloads for songs that it "thinks" are in your library, even if it "knows" the files are missing. If you've exhaustively searched for the missing files and there is no prospect of repair by restoring to them to their original locations, or connecting to new ones, then delete that tracks that display both the missing exclamation mark and are of media kind Purchased/Protected AAC audio file. Don't hide from iTunes in the cloud when asked, close iTunes, then reopen. You can download from the cloud links or iTunes Store > Quicklinks > Purchased > Music > Not on this computer > All songs > Download all.
    2. Why? Not sure, perhaps 3rd party tools or accidental key presses combined with previously hidden warning messages when trying to organize the library. There is a hint that using the feature to downsample media as it is synced to a device may also be involved, though I've not replicated it. Whatever the reason a backup would protect your media.

  • Deleting photos in the Library that are not in an Album

As the subject states, is there a way to delete all and any photos from the library that are not in an album. I now understand how to properly delete photos, but before I would drag the photos from a new roll into an album and then delete the ones I did not want from the album and they would stay in the library. It is too difficult and numerous to go back and try and figure out which photos are in albums and which are not. Thank you for your help in advance.

    Welcome to the Apple Discussions.
Well, to find them, make a smart album (File -> New Smart Album)
Album -> Is Not -> Any
That will gather them together. The select them and go option (or alt) - delete.
This will move them to the iPhoto trash.
    Empty the trash.

I have several songs that I purchased. They show in my library, but won't play on any of my devices - including my computer. I keep getting the "authorize the computer" prompt. My computer is authorized! I have done all the troubleshoots that are available. How do I get my computer and other devices to be able to play these songs? Almost all  my songs play except for about 8 or 9.

If only some of the songs on an album are giving you the authorisation message, that suggests those song files are damaged.

Regarding #5, you shouldn't have to take any kind of tour to use the program.
If there's a problem with your Photoshop.com account, like if it's full, it can cause issues like this with the Welcome screen. Basically, there's an error dialog displaying, which basically "freezes" the Welcome Screen, but the animation is appearing on top of the error so you can't close the error. (In a lot of cases, you can press Space bar and it'll close the error.)
    To get beyond this:
Open Editor (from Program Files\Adobe\Photoshop Elements 8.0\PhotoshopElementsEditor.exe) or Organizer (from Program Files\Adobe\Elements Organizer 8.0\PhotoshopElementsOrganizer.exe).
At the top of the application, you'll see something that says "Welcome Ed" (or just "Welcome" with the name tied to your account after it). Click on this.
When the dialog pops up asking for your password, don't enter it and instead click Sign Out.
You should then be able to start the application in the usual way without having to sit through the animation.
If this works, then it likely means there's an issue with your Photoshop.com account. If you don't use it, then just don't sign back in.
If you do use it, though, then you'll want to find out what problem there is. The most common thing I see is that you're account has filled up. In any case, just log into the Photoshop.com website and you should be able to discover the issue quite readily.
