A lot of artists and albums missing since the last time I used iTunes.

The last time I used iTunes was a while ago, back then I was able to type out bands such as Leaves' Eyes, or Tyr's older album works etc. Now iTunes doesn't have them anymore. What happened? Why can I not find Leaves' Eyes or Three Days Grace: Life Starts Now? And no I did try different country, so don't even bother suggesting.
Now that my PC had to rip tunes from CDs onto iTunes from scratch due to reinstalling xp, it can't find albums for those respective bands.

Now I'm clear on what you're asking.
Dave's right - artists or distributors sometimes pull their content from the iTunes store. Who knows exactly why?

My advice is to contact those artists/labels and see if tey give you any answer why they pulled from Apple.
Also, see if another mp3 download store in Wales has them for sale. They might be on Amazon UK. There are some other music services not available to me in the USA - perhaps they have moved there for distribution. They also might be on emusic UK, although that is a subscription service and eMusic's downloader is clunky.
Most legit online mp3 stores have downloader programs that automatically add tracks to itunes. I really like the Amazon USA store, myself.

As far as the flashing question mark and globe icons are concerned, your computer had lost track of its startup volume and was searching through the possibilities. The globe icon indicates that it is looking for a network to start from and the question mark indicates that it is looking for an OS X volume. To fix this, if you haven't already, go to System Preferences > Startup Disk and reselect your internal HD as the startup volume.
From what you have described, this issue does seem to have corrected itself, and the faster start up is what one would normally expect. I think that you have absolutely no reason to reinstall your system.

FaceTime is not working since the last time I've disconnected it...

Since the last time I've disconnected it, Facetime is not working. At first, I thought it was working with no problems. Then, I realize that I could not make or receive calls, and then I disconnected. Now, I can't connect it. There's a message saying to me try later, but this message has been appearing since last month. I'm sure that this problem is not with my internet conection, because I've tried another conections, and FaceTime still not working, and it is not with my ID Apple either because I could connect it normally in iPod' Facetime and I've tried other account in Mac' FaceTime. What should I do?

SAME as I stated 3 weeks ago I've update to 6.1 IOS onto Iphone 4s it wiped out Wifi & Bluetooth grey out issue
and did all the steps didn't help ,so had to go to Apple store & see if they could do anything ,they stated that if it work for them get a new 1 free ,but if can't be done PAY for REPLACEMENT .It turns out warranty lapsed,said ok

How can I make I-cloud back up only the files created since the last Time-Machine backup?

So, I wish to use time-machine to back up every six weeks or so. This means a whole range of files could be lost if my wonderfully fast but terrifyingly unrecoverable solid state hard drive packs up.
Has anyone any idea how I can make Icloud only backup files created since the last time machine backup?

Automator is not the right solution.
Use a folder action script. Apple has an example here: (Auto-backup Script):

the steps might have been written for 10.3, so the steps may not be 100% right, but this will do what you want.

I recently moved my itunes library. Itunes deleted a lot of artist and album info and album art. Now it won't let me edit the info to correct it. Any advice on to correct this?

You can't use your account's balance for gifting, you can only use a credit card - your balance can only be used to buy content for yourself. Until you pay what you owe iTunes then you won't be able to download any items from the store on that account.

Multiple same artists and albums missing, need some help pleas

I just bought a Creative Zen mp3 player and for some reason, when I edit the name and info of my songs (artist, genre, album...ect...) , my player won't pick it up properly. I can have 2 or 3 different "Beatles" under artist, yet, they are spelled EXACTLY the same way. (capital letter, space, eveything is the same)
Now I used to have the same problem with my Creative Zen V Plus but I was always able to make it work after doing some copy & paste while editing the tracks info. This time, it's not working.
My second problem is the one that really bugs me the most. When I select certain artists on my player, some of the albums are missing. Ex: I select "Beatles" in my artists list and then I'm expecting to find all the albums but there are only 2 showing. Yet, if I go in the albums list,there're all gonna be there. And?as I said, the names & different info are all spelled properly. EVERYTHING IS THE SAME ! I spend alot of time editing my tracks info because I want everything to be organised perfectly on my player and it's getting really frustrating.
Anyone has a solution? thank you so much !

I am having a very similar problem. I had the problem, was told about Media Monkey, organized everything through Media Monkey, deleted all my songs off my Zen X-Fi 6GB and reloaded my songs. Again songs are missing. Here is the interesting thing. Media Monkey shows 273 items in the playlist and my Zen shows 273 songs So where are they?

Does the iPod successfully connect to other networks?

First, try signing out of your account in Settings > iTunes & App Store. Once signed out, force close the iTunes Store application and restart your device. After you have restarted, go ahead and sign back in.

Artist and Album Panes in Organizer View of Media Sourc

When I plug in my older Zen Nomad, I see three panes in the organizer view for the player's library (select the player in the Sources pane)?-- the larger track pane to the right, full height, and an artist and album pane in the middle, split vertically. When I plug in my new Zen Vision:M, I only see the single track listing pane when I select the player (or select the Music folder). The artist and album panes are missing. I can't find any way to make them visible. How do I do that?Thanks much,Paul?

Right now, I have have everything installed on my PC?(MediaSource, both plug-ins, and the NOMAD driver). Obviously both devices have their firmware installed. ;-)? Everything is working, except for the inability to browse the Vision:M as a "music library." I had previously updated the NOMAD's firmware to the latest?..0, and I haven't changed it for all this. The Vision:M was already running the latest PlaysForSure?.20.02 firmware when I received it, so I didn't touch that. For the uninstall/reinstall discussed above, I was only changing software on my PC. I'm using MediaSource Player/Organizer 5.0.38. The NOMAD plug-in is the Creative Zen and NOMAD Jukebox Plugin 5.00.22. The NOMAD driver is the Creative Zen and Jukebox Driver 2.0.00. The Vision:M plug-in is the Creative PlaysForSure Devices Plugin 5.00.36. I tried software both from the Vision:M CD (which installed that horrible web based organizer), and from the downloads section of Creative's support web site (which is what I have installed now). Looking at the compatibility notes for all the software, it doesn't look like I can go back to the older MediaSource 3.30.2 I was using with the NOMAD?and use any available?Vision:M plug-in with it, so I didn't try rolling MediaSource back. It seems from my testing that the PlaysForSure?plug-in/drivers for the Vision:M do not present the device to MediaSource as something that is a "music library" and therefore MediaSource does not browse it with the same interface as it does the NOMAD. As I mentioned, it's already become pretty silly to try and browse just the 20 albums I've loaded so far, when all I can do is navigate to the Music folder and see a list of all the individual tracks. I can't even find a way to browse a list of albums or artists -- all I can do is sort by those columns which has very limited usability. Any ideas or tips appreciated. I'm guessing most people use some other software for managing their Vision:M libraries. What do they use? I had gotten used to MediaSource with the NOMAD and was hoping I could still use it for both. my ipod touch stopped organizing the artists and albums in the music application since the last time i synced music... so when i go to music, artists, i see the artists not organized in letters.. it used to organize them, it used to put each artist in a letter section (the letter that the artist's name starts with)
and the search bar on the right side isnt showing up as well
and the same thing is happening with the albums section...
why is that happening and how ??

Remove podcasts from Artist and Album list

It makes it difficult to select a particular artist if the large number of podcasts that are subscribed appear in the Artist and Album list. The way files are organized in iTunes this is not a problem- but in iPod it is a hassle. Is it possible to remove podcasts appearing in the Artist and Album list in iPod?

NO... I'm having the same issues and a quick search of the web reveals that Podcasts in 11.1 is COMPLEATLY BROKEN!!!
I've spent two days trying to fix this issue even including deleting all of my podcasts and restoring from the App Store and nothing works!!!

I need help manually managing music- I only want select artists and albums in bulk

I am currently trying to sync music with a new Ipod (120GB) and am having diffuculty.
What I have done: I have checked the 'Manually manage music' box and am able to select music I want to sync with the Ipod no the 'Music' Page of the Ipod.
What I am trying to do: I have over 400GB of music, so I only want to select certain artists and albums. In this case I am trying to select batches of music to take across to another PC in alphabetical order. In other words, I want to select all Artists and Albums starting with the letters A, B and C.
What I want to know how to avoid: I am currently being forced to click on every single artist and album starting with A, B and C individually which as you can imagine is taking hours!!! I want to be able to select all artists or albums starting at one point and ending at another point, without having to click individually on each and every line item.
Please help! This is going to take me forever!

Enable the sidebar with CTRL+S if not there
Create a playlist with CTRL+N
Go to the Songs view.
Click the heading of the Album column until it reads Album
Select the first track of the first album
Scroll down the list until you see the last track of the last album beginning with C
Hold down shift and click that last track
Drag the selection to the playlist name and let go
Click the heading of the Album column until it reads Album by Artist
Select the first track of the first album
Scroll down the list until you see the last track of the last album beginning with C
Hold down shift and click that last track
Drag the selection to the playlist name and let go, don't copy duplicates
Drag this playlist to the device, or better yet go to automatic syncing and sync the playlist. You can then edit for the next update when the device isn't connected. You can also create additional playlists for stuff you "must have" on the iPod, new stuff etc. Automatic syncing is easier, more powerful, and more selective than manual management.
