My log is mostly just this message:

I am getting an error message that seems to indicate that it's impossible to create log entries with the command-line client. Can I ask one of you FCS gurus to advise me?

Hmm, no, my 1.5.2 instance logs script responses twice- once to say it is executing and again after the process terminates to say that it ran. The second entry is where any stdout is printed. I don't know of any setting that would turn this off, it has always been there for me.
A typical script response log entry looks like this:
Summary
"response \[Response Title] script triggered by Subscription \[Subscription Title] complete"
Detail
"response complete, completed command /fcsvrbin/\[scriptname.sh] with arguments { 43, 8 } "
"stdout would print here, if there is any"
You probably already tried it, but try filtering your log search for "script triggered" since it can be easy to miss spotting entries on a busy system, and they don't necessarily show up side by side in the logs with the other responses in their respective stack.

Excessive log entries with buffalo linkstation

I am getting excessive log entries on my MacBook Pro (OS 10.6.7) that appear to be related to my Buffalo LinkStation HD-CELU2 external drive. This drive is connected to my Airport Extreme (latest firmware) via USB and acts as my iTunes (10.2.2) library, which also serves as the music source for a Sonos digital music system. A sample of the log entries follow:

It says that a file isn't found, and that could be because I uninstalled NASNavigator in an attempt to get rid of these extraneous log entries. Uninstalling the software seems to have only resulted in changing the messages (to "no such file"), not reducing or ending them.
This log entry is constant; it occurs even when the computer has no need to access the Buffalo hard drive. It makes it very hard to diagnose any other issues because it both clutters the log and causes it to only recall a couple of hours worth of log info.

Text Entry with Tab Key not advancing to next slide

I am using Captivate 1 to create a screen that has a text
entry requiring the user to press the Tab key as the Shortcut Key.
The users are having to press the Tab key multiple times to get the
course to advance to the next slide. There does not seem to be a
rhyme or reason to which text entries this occurs in, nor does
there seem to be a pattern to the number of times or forcefulness
in which the Tab key must be pressed, though more aggressive key
presses have yielded better results. Sadly, requesting the users
bang the Tab key with as much force as they can muster is not a
viable option.
Here are things I have tried:
Decrease length of slide
Increasing active time of the text entry
Adding/removing playback control
Deleting and recreating text entries
If anyone has any idea what can be done to correct this
problem, it would be much appreciated.

The following has worked for me in Cap1, so try it and see:
Add the text entry box and include the submit button.
Make the submit button transparent and edit text to a full
stop at the smallest available font size (Captivate won't accept a
submit button without something typed in and a full stop is the
smallest thing available display wise)
On the submit button, set the shortcut key to "Tab".
My reasoning was that the shortcut key on the text entry box
"activates" the box, thus allowing input and the shortcut key on
the "submit" button "deactivates" the box so that the slide can
move on as required.
Please let us know if this helps.

Lots of Update probs with NSU, why not include Bac...

Yes i'm back on here to voice a few concerns..
Firstly i've noticed a lot of threads on here regarding bricked phones when people have innocently been using NSU to upgrade the firmware on there phones.
I also have a similar experience with an N70 - went to upgrade through NSU, its downloaded the update, and whilst applying it, the pc said no phone connected (even though there was nothing near it), so i ended up with a goosed phone, with no way of updating it or reverting back to the original firmware...
So why don't Nokia include a mechanism in NSU which as part of the upgrade process Backs up the current firmware before updating. If it fails, then a least NSU could reapply the original one.
How about Nokia implement a Memory Card solution (for the phones that support it), avoid cable probs altogether, and include an image which you can transfer onto a Memory Card and update the firmware that way?
Come on Nokia, Connecting people is your logo, yet your NSU is disconnecting the same people good and proper...

Good point there, but I personaly think that a FW backup/rollback implementation like you mentioned would be a lot trickier to realistically implement, since after the updates are downloaded and firmware flashing is started, nokia really has little to no control of what happens in between the flashing part and the "phone dying" part. ;p
Also, isn't it detailed in the NSU instructions somewhere that firmware cannot be rolled back to a previous version? But, it can be done at a Care Point (with special equipment, I presume).
Not even the other phone manufacturers can do the same at this time (i.e. software-controlled FW rollback).

Can log in with Name but not with computer IP

am facing a very strange case here , i have 10 virtual servers , when i try to use RD to connect to them it's work only with name ! but if i tried the IP it's gives me incorrect username.

- it's work fine with the DC and one server with 2003 not 2008 (all other servers are 2008 )

Action Log Entry Private is "Blue" not ticked.

i have a question. Maybee i only didn`t see the awnser in the admin guide.
When you have a Action Log Comment sometimes the comment is not ticked as private it`s the field is "filed" out in blue.
What does this mean?

Comments with this item checked will not show on the end user portal. since this is SQL bool under the covers, it has three possible values. TRUE (i.e. this comment should NOT be shown to user), FALSE (it's ok to show this to users) and NULL (?).
I believe, but can't confirm, that null comments are shown to users.

.sh file usage log entries multiplied

I have added the following line as the first executable line in every .sh file:

The application calls it's .sh files in a number of ways, but all of them originating from crontab.
What confuses me is that log entries often appear in tuples, that is, when the application's
.sh file is calling the file making the log entry, supposedly to make a single log entry, I'm still
getting 2, 3 or even more log entries with the same time-stamp (resolution: 1 sec).
I don't understand this and would appreciate if some guru here could give me a clou.

I would log also PIDs together with script name: "/application/sh_log $0 $$". Then you could see whether the application script or sh_log is really called more times (different PIDs).
Also consider to use chmod 0777 instead of 7777. So, e.g.:

1. Call up transaction NACE (Conditions for Output Control).
2. Choose the desired applications and then Output Types.
3. Double click on the output type to go to the detail view where you can make the necessary settings. To make the settings you must enter the change mode.
4. Set the indicator do not write processing log and save your settings.
This setting is only applicable to the individual application and output type. If it is set, processing logs will be collected in the main memory, but they will not be written to the database. Other output types are not affected by this setting. You have to repeat the aforementioned steps for each output type individually. It is not possible to switch off the processing log for all output types at the same time. For more information on the setting do not write processing log see the corresponding documentation.

Creating action log entry for incident via SDK in C#

So, about a week ago my macbook pro started having lots of issues: wifi connectivity, slow performance, sound issues, spotlight wasn't working. After going through the issues with apple support, they decided the best course of action was to erase it...

After going through the issues with apple support, they decided the best course of action was to erase the hard drive and do a reinstall. Since I have a recent backup this seemed like a good enough option. They were kind enough to send me a copy of the snow leopard disk to do the install since we couldn't get it to complete through the disk utility. Not sure why, since it says we are fully connected, it just never completed.
Anyway, so now that you have the background here is the new issue. The macbook pro keeps spitting out the disk I'm trying to install from. Disk utility and using the 'Startup Disk' function from the apple menu doesn't read the disk.
Can anyone suggest a solution to this vexing problem?

Are you attempting to u201Clinku201D the standard IHS Risk Assessment functionality to the Incident/Accident log?
In my opinion there is a fundamental problem with this solution approach. The standard IHS Risk assessment is inherently linked to a Work Area. The intention is to identify, evaluate and control risks and hazards that are encountered within a specific work area. This functionality supports measurement management and exposure management but does not fit well with the acute nature of the incident based risk assessment, although, a risk that is identified and addressed initially as the result of an incident may ultimately be added to the Risk Register of the Work Area where the incident occurred.
The best approach I have found is to enhance the incident record with a Risk Assessment tab that allows the user to identify the individual incident risks based on different risk impacts like People, Environment, Assets, Reputation, Quality and so forth based on client requirements. Any incident could have one or more risk impacts that contribute to the overall risk rating of the incident. Each u201Crisk impactu201D is evaluated on the clients standard risk matrix dimensions like Severity, Likely hood and so on. In this way each risk impact has a unique risk rating. You can then either identify one of the impacts as the main incident risk rating or have a routine that, based on logic and risk matrix, evaluates the unique risk impact ratings and determines an overall risk rating for the incident.
Once the unique risk impacts have been evaluated, there should be the ability to reevaluate each impact based on the controls or safety measures that have been implemented. These u201Cresidual risksu201D could be linked directly to the safety measure that addresses the risk so that the details of the control are apparent.
I would also consider some type of status management that would indicate when the risk assessment was complete. This could be used to enforce a risk assessment for incidents that meet predefined conditions like u201Cincident cannot be closed if it meets criteria 1, 2 and 3 and the risk assessment status is initialu201D. The risk assessment status could also be used support reporting requirements for outstanding risk assessments and so on.
To implement this approach, I would recommend utilizing one of the menu exits or, if possible, a custom Web Dynpro application linked via BAPI.
Hope this helps or at least spurs some thought.

This is about a couple of log entries I found in /dcm/logs/emd_logs/log.xml file.
while I have some Idea about the message itself what I don't understand is why the <HOST_NWADDR> points to 148.87.12.57
Can anyone shed some light on this.
Does R2 connect to oracle in some way each time it is brought up, 'cause the IP 148.87.12.58 is the IP of the PortalStudio and I figured its neighbour belongs to oracle too.
Do I need to keep the box connected to Internet all the time for it to work.
Could someone at oracle tell me what my box is trying to do by connecting to 148.87.12.57.

following log entry on a WLC5508 (7.4.100.0) is permanentely filling up the log buffer and the WLC operates in low performance.

Has somebody an idea what the issue is or can be? Or has it been monitored from someone else on other installations as well?
Both AP's does have different IP adresses from DHCP server x.y.z.248 and x.y.z.249. WLC is working as internal DHCP server. DHCP proxy is disabled. From what could this strange address 0.2.146.0 come from? I've never seen such an address like 0.2.146.0

This is another common issue that is seen when the AP tries to join the WLC. You might see this error message when the AP tries to join the controller.
No more AP manager IP addresses remain
One of the reasons for this error message is when there is a duplicate IP address on the network that matches the AP manager IP address. In such a case, the LAP keeps power cycling and cannot join the controller.
The debugs will show that the WLC receives LWAPP discovery requests from the APs and transmits a LWAPP discovery response to the APs. However, WLCs do not receive LWAPP join requests from the APs.
In order to troubleshoot this issue, ping the AP manager from a wired host on the same IP subnet as the AP manager. Then, check the ARP cache. If a duplicate IP address is found, remove the device with the duplicate IP address or change the IP address on the device so that it has a unique IP address on the network.
The AP can then join the WLC.
