A lot of problems with my iPod(songs delet/stop at will)

I started my i pd up this morning and none of my podcast or music would play. After a while I just let my ipod sit and turned it on but it stopped after pleying about a minute. I reset the iPod and now everything is deleted. i am getting so fed up with this thing. I've had to reformat and reset it like twice in the last 3 weeks.
Can Anyone help?

I am having a lot of problems with my Bionic and it is making me very dissastified.
1. My 3G and 4G service is going out.
2. My phone reboots randomly.
3. It gets very hot with little to no use.
4. Sound doesn't work sometimes.
5. Battery life is utter garbage.
6. The camera is horrible.
I've called up already and did a soft and hard reset. I am unable to send it in for repairs and they couldn't fix it at the store. I am very upset and either want a fix or I want to be able to trade it in for a new phone.
Hi Jaredk
3 and 5 are related, 1 and 2 may  be part of that as well.  The camera has terrible lag and all in all isn't that impressive but that's being addressed.  I haven't had or heard any issues with the sound cutting out.
Have you tried going to Settings > Wireless & networks > Mobile networks > Network Mode and select CDMA Only to see if that fixes any of the issues you're seeing?  Specifically the reboots and heat.
For the reboots I would recommend un-installing most of your apps and then slowly add them back until you notice the reboots start up.

  • Lots of problems with my iPod touch 4th generation

I am having a few problems with my iPod touch 4th Generation. I have been having them for a while and I would really like to get them fixed.
My first and main problem would be that my iPod touch is not being recognized by my computer (windows) and it will not sync to iTunes. I am certain it is not my USB cables fault because I have tried it with three different USB cables and all of them have had the same result. It has seemed to be completly fine until I updated to ios 6. I would restore my ipod to ios 5 but I can't get my ipod to be recognized by iTunes and restore it.
My next problem is that my ipod is charging but it does not show that it is charging. The thing is though that it will only charge when it is hooked up to a very high powered source like my computer. My ipod dock works but it says it uses 160 watts of output power. It will not be charged from another wall charger and it will not charge in the car with a car charger.
I would love some help with this. I have been having these problems for a while and it is starting to annoy me a little.
    Thanks in advance.

Type "ios device not recognized" into the search bar at the top of this page and read the resulting help article.

  • Lots of problems with 3g ipod

first I was having problems connecting my ipod to my ibook. it wouldn't connect to the computer, but if i let it be plugged into my computer overnight, i would connect itself to my computer at some point, but then it would disconnect itself without it being dismounted from my computer. i worked around this by shutting down my computer, itunes would crash if i tried to quit it or tell it to disconnect the ipod. then i visited a friend and used a usb cord to connect my ipod to a mac and the computer recognized it right away, but wouldn't charge the ipod while it was connected and playing on the computer. then when i got home, i still had the problem of it connecting and disconnecting randomly. Now it will charge when connected to the computer but won't ever connect to the computer (i've left it connected for over a day and nothing happened). i've tried using a usb cord and tried both the usb and firewire cord on a different computer than mine, and still nothing is working. i've tried resetting the ipod, but that doesn't do anything. Help! i like my ipod and can't afford to buy another one.

I just got the iPhone 3G S yesterday and immediately noticed a couple of major bugs/usability problems that seems to be not up to Apple's usual QA standard.
I got mine Friday and encountered a couple of problems. Each was cured with an iPhone reset, like rebooting a balky computer. Press and hold both the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
I'm not going to comment on your first 4 complaints, because I don't use the Camera enough to offer much of use to you.
    5. There's no way to stop record video. The big red record button can only be press once to start recording, and there's no way to stop. I had to quit the camera app to make it stop. No video is recorded afterwards.
On my phone, the start button is also the stop button. Maybe that reset I mentioned could help.
    6. Why is the compass and maps 2 different apps? I don't see a separate app for GPS so why have a separate app for the compass? If you must have a separate compass app for the people who bring the iphone to camping in a national park or something, at least put the effort in giving me an overlay for the direction I'm facing on the map. Any boy scout will tell you a map with no direction is pretty hard to follow.
The Compass app is good for boy scouts and hikers. It can be used out in the boonies without a WiFi or cellular data connection that the Map app requires.
In the Map app, the blue button in the lower left corner is the "locate me" button. Press it again after you are located and it will orient the map to the compass. Press it a third time and your map reverts to north up.
Try the reset. It won't affect any of your apps or data and it might make things work a lot better.

  • Having lots of problems with my ipod...

Can anyone help me with these problems i've already tried wiping my ipod and doing the battery test but still nothing...
I have a 4th Generation iPod with 40Gigs of memory
    1. My battery is supposed to work for 10 hours instead it works for 1.5 hours
    2. My songs will play for about 40 seconds to 2 minutes and then they'll start to stutter and come to a complete stop and then restart
    3. My iPod constantly freezes

If you got 1,5 hours of playback time using the battery test, then it needs replacing. I'm of the opinion that bad batteries can cause all sorts of errors.
If it's not under warranty, try Googling "iPod batteries" for 3rd party (and cheaper) replacements.
Even if the poor battery performance is not causing the errors, you need it replaced first of all.

  • Hello, I have a problem with the iPod, is that the iPod does not sync all the songs that are on my Itunes. I have 373 songs on the iPod and iTunes 512 in ... What do I do?

Hello,i have a problem with the Ipod,is that the Ipod doesn't sync all the songs in my Itunes. I have 373 songs in my Ipod and 512 sons in my Itunes. What do i do?

    Hello,
I take it you haven't unticked any of the songs listed on your iTunes Library? Also have you tried selecting all your songs which you wish to add to your iPod, and dragging them over your Devices "iPod Nano"; and seeing if that copies all songs on to your iPod?
Another idea is just check that your iPod has enough space for the rest of your songs to be added to your device.
    Hope this helps.

  • Loads of problems with my iPod.

Ever since I updated to iTunes 7.4, my 30 gig late-5th gen iPod has been causing me problems.
I bought a few songs on iTunes Music Store and I went to sync my iPod. Nothing happened. I tried resetting my iPod, different USB port, restarting computer, reinstalling iTunes and then restoring my iPod. No use. Now I could only get about 20 songs synced at a time if I was lucky. I got most of my songs on, except for about 100 of them, which just refused to get onto my ipod. iTunes would say syncing... iPod sync completed ok to disconnect, but the songs weren't there. Today I tried yet another USB port on my computer and the second I plugged in my fully charged iPod, it just died. I can't get it to turn on again. Lots of people I know who own video iPods have had the same problem with the new version of iTunes, and I've read similar problems on the internet but Apple hasn't offered any explanation to us customers. I've bought many Apple products in the past (Macs, earlier iPods), but with having to replace my iPod three times this year (waiting for 6 weeks at a time for replacement) I think I'm going to have to move away from them unless they provide me with some decent customer support, not some badly-trainer employee whose only advice is to reset and restore my iPod.
I've had really bad luck with iPods, this is my third iPod this year; the first one had a faulty dock connector and the second one wouldn't recognize that it had been plugged out of a charger. Any help from forum members would be greatly appreciated (since I can't get it from Apple). I also think I should get an extended warranty from Apple to provide me with some sort of guarantee because my original iPods warranty is about to run out.

I have a problem with my ipod too after 3months of working perfectly the Hold switch it's not working anymore. But if i plug the ipod to the computer the Hold switch will work again.
The problem appeared after the battery was over. I tried reseting, restoring, leaving the battery to go completely empty but nothing worked
Anyone here who can help me ? This problem is really irritating.

  • HT204406 I let my match subscription go because I was having a lot of problems with it. I re-subscribed and it reset all my database of music back to when I last had match. How do I fix this?

I ended up letting my itunes match subscription go because I was having a lot of problems with it. I was getting a lot of music where it would play the censored version instead of explicit like I have. After attempting numerous times to fix I gave up and let match expire. I had updated my library by downloading a number of AAC versions from itunes and then manually deleted all of them and added the proper files back by re-ripping my CD's again. I also added a bunch of new music and because I use a rating system, re organized all my music and rated some stuff with new ratings and higher star ratings.
About 3 months passed and I decided to give match another try. After getting it, I found it odd that my database was put there in virtually no time. Not only that, a significant amount of music I deleted (but was in the old match subscription) showed up. I knew it was broken at that point, but today, I was listening to music and items which I know have been updated and changed, have also reverted back to old settings. Is there a way to fix this?
Also, I'm REALLY annoyed with match again. After all my work, I STILL have censored music as my match music. It is really annoying to have different music on my computer than what is in the cloud (not to mention the music which will not upload to the cloud and just constantly says "waiting"!!)

    Yeah, and it didn't work.
I had problems when I updated to iOS 5 (lost all my apps - a few of my friends had the same problem) and when there was an update to iOS 4 (camera wouldn't work). The iOS 5 issue was sorted by backup (but I lost the app data) but for the iOS 4 issue I had to return my iPod to get a new one.

  • Strange problem with portable iPod dock

I recently bought an iLive portable dock so that I could listen to my iPod at work. It worked just fine the first few weeks and then I took my iPod on a car trip and used one of those adapters that finds an available radio frequency to play your iPod over your car radio. When I went back to work the following week my iPod no longer worked right on the portable system. I have to turn the volume all the way up on the system and even then it's all static and you can barely hear the song. I can't imagine that it has anything to do with using the adapter in the car but that's the only thing I can think of since it worked fine before this. What's really strange is that my husband's iPod works fine on the portable system and he's used the car adaptor many times. I don't think it's a problem with the iPod itself because it works fine using the headphones and hooked up to the computer. Furthermore, the speakers on the portable sytem are good because my husband's iPod works on it and I can play the radio just fine through it. I'm at a complete loss and I can't figure out what could have caused this problem. As I said, my iPod worked just fine for three weeks prior to this and out of the blue this happened. Now I can't listen to my iPod at work and it really *****.

Does teh FM radio thingy plug into the iPod's dock connector on the bottom?
Have you inspected the pins in the dock connector of your iPod with a magnifying glass? You might have dirt, corrosion, film, something on the pins not giving you a good connection to the signal pins on the connector (but not on the USB power and Sync pins so the iPod would still sync ok to the computer).

  • I have a problem with my iPod

I have a problem with my ipod, it's all started during my visit to my cousin's house. My songs suddenly skip around 200 songs within 40 second, and i can't play my songs and my video. I already Restore my iPod but nothing changes. it just keep skipping songs.
any ideas what's wrong, I might send the ipod to the store that I buy.

If you used iTunes or quicktime pro to convert-they do not like muxed files(audio/video are joined in one track). So you get video only.
If you used something else-contact the program site for help since it is not an Apple product, the majority of us probably do not use it.
If it was videora-dump it and get soemthing that actually works. Like mpeg streamclip and handbrake for DVD's.

  • I have a problem with my iPod touch 5th gen. When connected to my computer my music playlist will show and play no problem. When I disconnect my iPod from my computer go into my music, my music playlist disappears. Do anyone have a solution. Thank U!

I have a problem with my iPod touch 5th gen 64GB. When I connect my iPod to my Mac Book Pro laptop my music that I've transferred to my iPod and music playlist will appear in my iTunes my music will play with no problem. Now, when I disconnect my iPod from my computer go into my music, my music playlist and music I've downloaded into my iPod disappears. I reconnect my iPod to my computer, everything shows. Do anyone have a solution I really do appreciate it. Thank You!

    Try:
    - Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Unsync/delete all music and resync
To delete all music go to Settings>General>Usage>Storage>Manage Storage>Music>Tap edit in upper right and then tap the minus sign by All Music
    - Reset all settings
Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset All Settings.
All your preferences and settings are reset. Information (such as contacts and calendars) and media (such as songs and videos) aren’t affected.
    - Restore from backup. See:
iOS: Back up and restore your iOS device with iCloud or iTunes
    - Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.
However, there seems to be a bug in iOS 8 or iTunes 12.1.1 that cause this problem and I have not seen a solution

  • Many Problems with new iPod

It all started out when I got my nice shiny new iPod. I installed the latest 64 bit version of iTunes and connected my new iPod. First thing iTunes told me was that the iPod was corrupt and needed to be restored. I thought no big deal. The iPod is new with nothing on it so I had nothing to lose. The iPod was stuck in restore mode for about 8 hours and I gave up. I rebooted the computer and reconnected the iPod. Now iTunes could not see the iPod.
You may need to know that this computer is a newer Dell Studio XPS running the 64 bit version of Windows 7 Home Premium.
I followed all of the recommended solutions on the page for Windows not seeing an iPod. When it came to reinstall iTunes is when the real challenge started. Lots of problems with not being authorized to write some registry keys and iTunes would roll back the installation. Each time I installed iTunes I installed as Administrator. I had to jump through all of the hoops of deleting these registry keys what would not delete. I installed several times, each time deleting a new registry key that the installer would not overwrite. After 2 days I finally got iTunes reinstalled.
However iTunes would still not see the new iPod. Messed around with this for another few hours.
I have an old computer that I seldom use. This is an older Dell Dimension running Windows XP Professional Service Pack 3. It had an old version of iTunes. I thought I would try getting the iPod to work on this computer. This would at least tell me if there was a problem with the iPod itself. I updated the iTunes to the latest version. Connected the iPod. It was seen but said the iPod was corrupt. Did a restore and all appeared to work fine. So this tells me the problem is not with the iPod, but with iTunes on the other computer.
I went to my other computer, the one that I want to use iTunes on, and reconnected the iPod. It was seen this time but iTunes said that the iPod was corrupt and needs to be restored. I started the restore process. It has been restoring for over 10 hours now.
I really don't want to start over with all of the problems I had reinstalling iTunes.
Anyone have some suggestions on what to try next?

Made some progress during my lunch break. I started suspecting a problem with the USB driver for this iPod. I found KB article 1538 which was helpful.
I went to the device manager and deleted anything that looked like an Apple device and deleted all USB mass storage devices. I also deleted the device drivers for these items at the same time. I then scanned for hardware changes and the iPod was found.
The iPod is now seen in Windows Explorer. It still has the name I gave it when it was connected to my other PC. So I suspect the restore that was taking over 10 hours never had a chance to start. From Windows Explorer I was able to access some folders on the iPod.
iTunes would still not see this iPod. However I hope a reboot will solve this.
Ran out of time and needed to go back to work. I will update how this worked.

  • I am having problems with my ipod syncing all of my videos to my ipod from my itunes playlist, it will only sync about half even though they are all checked

i am having problems with my ipod syncing all of my videos to my ipod from my itunes playlist, it will only sync about half even though they are all checked

I assume there is more than ample space remaining on your iPod to hold all the videos?  Are you getting any error messages during the sync process?
Do all of these videos play okay in iTunes?  Is the sync only checked songs and videos option enabled from under the iPod's Summary tab?
What other setting do you have enabled from under the iPod's video configuration tab in iTunes?
