A Mac application similar to Charmap on windows

Hi Everyone, I recently bought a MacBook Pro (first Mac ever) and I'm trying to do some graphic design work. I'd like to see all the ligatures and other glyphs that are in a particular font. The way I work is I usually activate my fonts using Suitcase, so then I get access to them in Photoshop etc. without having to actually install them.
I understand that using fontbook I can do this easily, but it seems as though when I add a font to FontBook it installs the font, which defeats the purpose of using Suitcase. I'd hate to have to install every single font I want to use.
Can anyone help?

This is exactly the method I am currently using, sorry if this was unclear in my original post. But it only works for installed fonts, and I'm trying to avoid installing all of my many fonts for it to work.

EDIT: I just saw that I need to pay for this. Do you know if there are any free alternatives?

Is there any Mac software or App that is similar to Autosplitter for Windows?
It can crop, straighten and individually file multiple photos from one scan, i.e. multiple photos on the scanner platen.

Well everyone has to decide on their own workflow but for me I like to use the tool that is best suited for the task.
So in this case I'd let the scanner break the items into multiple files and then do the cropping and straightening in Aperture, it will do a better job and give you more options.

Anf just to be clear Image Capture will allow you to crop the images before you scan them, but I'd still rather do that in Aperture.

Why can I not see shared applications on iTunes on a Mac but can on Itunes under Windows

1. I have a Mac Laptop, a Windows 7 laptop and an IPAD Air. I have an application on the IPad that shares files.
2. On both the Windows and Mac machines, I have the latest versions of ITunes installed.
3. With Image and IPhoto, I can browse the Documents directory of the shared application on the IPAD.
4. On the Windows Machine, on ITunes, under the Apps section, at the bottom of the screen, I can see the shared application and the shared Documents directory.
5. On my Mac Machine, on Itunes, under the Apps section, at the bottom of the screen, I can NOT see the same shared application on the IPAD that I see on the Windows machine.
6. In the upper right corner of Itunes on the MAC it does show "1 App" but I see no way to click on the app under ITunes and to browse the shared directory on the IPad
Any thoughts on what I have to do to make the Shared App show up on the Mac that shows up on the Windows machine in ITunes?

Did you put your audiobooks on your computer?
They will only be where you put them. You need to copy them from your old computer or your backup copy of your old computer.

The force quit window appears when you:
a) type the key combination <CMD> + <OPT> + <ESC>
b) you select the menu item " > Force Quit..."

An .exe file means you have the windows version. Go get the mac version:

Your Office 2011, though a Microsoft product, is designed to work with OSX the Mac operating system. Any program/application ending .exe is an executable program for Windows. It will only work in Windows and is not part of or openable with Microsoft Office.
the application you want to open needs Windows - you have a couple of alternatives:
Open it on a Windows PC
Install a valid version of Windows via Bootcamp (or Parallels or VM Fusion) which will allow you to boot your Mac into Windows where it will function like a Windows PC and you can use it to run the application.
See if the manufacturers of MFI_Simulator have a Mac version available.
Please note that if you follow the second option, then you will need to purchase a copy of Windows (if you do not have one already). BootCamp is free (part of OSX) but Parallels and VM Fusion cost too. I see quite a few posts from people who buy Parallels and try to run the program under Parallels - this doesn't work - you need to install Windows as well.

When booting your computer press and hold the option key. When the boot manager appears select OSX. When OSx boots select and run your "mac application".

My CD reader do not see mac applications, but only windows applications.

On the adobe CS CD is a windows application aswel a Mac application.
There is no automatic startup on my mac.
And I do not see any file for a setup (.dmg) or other file to install Adobe CS.
It looks my drive only sees the Windows files.
Who can help me to solve this problem?

Do you see a pkg file in the disc? Open the pkg if you don't see the dmg package

Building a standalone Mac application with an application builder running on Windows?

I created a user interface which communicates with a cRIO System via TCP/IP. The user interface should run on multiple hosts consisting of windows PC's and Mac's. My LabView development system is running on Windows. So my question: is it possible to build a Mac application with an application builder running on Windows?

Only if the Mac is running windows. Otherwise, you need a Mac version of LabVIEW and the app builder for that.

Mac Startup Disc Keeps Reverting to Windows

I have a Mac Mini with bootcamp installed and Windows XP installed on my bootcamp partition.
In the Mac startup disc settings, I have MacOS selected as the startup disc. Even so, my machine will periodically boot into Windows XP even though I have not changed the startup disc. When this happens, in Windows I go to the Bootcamp console, select MacOS as the startup disc, restart the computer and it boots into MacOs. Within about four or five days, however, the system AGAIN reverts to Windows XP on bootup BY ITSELF. Has anyone had this problem?

More of a workaround than a solution - But when I used Boot Camp for Windows before switching to Parallels, I would occasionally get the same problem (although randomly) and I just became used to holding down the option key at startup and pressing enter after a few seconds so that I guaranteed the Mac would boot up to OS X.
Maybe try repairing disk permissions from Disk Utility? If Boot Camp has any .plist or similar files (not sure) you might want to try trashing those too.

On newer versions of photoshop cs4-cc, it's usually Window>Application Frame

thanks, it's good to get a reply, but why do you keep going on about windows? Agreed, there is no mention that Tremor runs on iOS. So far this is the only reason given that it cannot run on iOS. You can read and I can read.
By putting the question to the community I was hoping for something like: the app you want is here-link, or the app you want cannot be written because technical-reason.
From a words point of view it would seem to be open for any ios developer to support DMG files.
