I have the same problem as you with picture messages. I have a friend in Australia who has a Nokia E71 and she cant either. This has happened ever since i have had a Nokia phone both N85 8GB and now my N97.
I havent found a answer and we had no troubles when i had a sony ericsson could send and receive pictures.

I been a Nokia user all my life and i have used nearly each and every premium phone starting from the model 2110.
it is sad that the way we are treated at least in India here. very disappointed with the bangalore call centre response.
see my message below in the board about my E90 and other problem is that i cannot see who called me last at times, i just called someone and now i am seeing the last dialled number it is of a few hours back from my address book.
My question is that, Why cannot a full testing be done from each and every aspect before the software or an upgrade is released, an upgrade should be an upgrade and not a "downgrade". Please hire us as your phone testing agents if you cannot get it done and give us a week and we will tell you where the problem is as we been using them for past 13 years.

Nokia 206 - Send message to nokia - charged £1

Got new Nokia 206, inserted sim powered up got a message saying need to send message to Nokia and may be charged (no idea what is in the message), checked PAYG balance and I have been charged £1 for the privelige = not happy.
Is this a subsidy to nokia? in order to use the phone we need you to send a premium rate SMS?
Can anyone elaborate what this message was (not saved in sent messages) and why Nokia are sending to premium rate number?

Well its just an activation message which helps Nokia in activating the warranty of your phone and other services such as Nokia Life.
But that's optional, it also tells you that premium sms rates will apply. So its your mistake if you didn't read it properly and continued.
Make sure you don't do that the next time. Skip it if it asks your permission to send an sms. Anyways, it won't bother you anymore

Unable to view messages in Nokia Communication Cen...

I have installed Nokia PC Suite 7.1.180.94, and want to upgrade my phone software - Nokia 6681 (I know its quite an old model!).
I am able to synchronize contacts (on memory card), and want to take backup of my Messages (in phone memory) before I upgrade - since everything will be cleanup after upgrade.
I'm not able to take backup, and not able to View any messages in Nokia Communication Center.
Plz HELP!

Well, I'm not exactly sure what happened but I think I've got it fixed for now.
FWIW, I went to Mail -> Preferences and clicked on the Accounts -> Advanced tabs. The "Enable this Account" box was checked just like always. I unchecked it, saved the changes, and exited Mail.
Then I went back to Mail -> Preferences -> Accounts -> Advanced, checked the "Enable this Account" box once again and saved the changes. Now it works just fine!

When a message failed, it always goes to the outbox or if you aborted it. Download the configuration for sms, gprs & packet data for your phone from you provider. Sometimes the wizard does not configure it properly.

I am not able to copy all the inbox messages from nokia PC Suite to my nokia 808. When i am trying to copy the messages saved/synced with nokia PC Suite back to my mobile, only some messages are getting copied back to mobile and some are not getting copied. Please kindly provide me with a solution.

Yeah, i did tried... Only half of the messages (not serially but randomly) got copied and not all the messages...

Indeed! You can check Nokia Store if there is an available application or may directly contact publisher for the availability, if you have an application in mind.

Unable to delete multiple text messages in nokia c...

how to delete multiple text messages in nokia c7. for example in c7 there is photo album where is a mark option, once clicking that we can mark the photos and delete it. but in messages there is no such kind option. we need to select each message and select mark option. Is there any way to mark messages.

To 5hownewsday. Have you tried deleting with Delete all prior, and deleting each one by itself. I could not delete some texts also. So I found that deleting each one, one at a time worked for me.

Changing voice message on Nokia 1800.

Hi, I have had my home phone line disconnected and am now using a new Nokia 1800 with my old sim card. Now informed by a person trying to contact me when phone is off, that my old message has my home phone number on it as an alternative contact.
How can I delete and then record new message on Nokia 1800?

You will have to find the answering number from your service provider and most likely call that and change the answering message from the menus given when making that call.
Its like that in Norway at least. When someone has called me and left a message (since I have the answering feature enabled) I will get a text on my phone telling me that there has been left a message on the answering feature. I then have to call that number to hear the message. When I call that number I also get options to hear older messages, delete them or change the automatic answer. I believe it would be the same for you.
However, if you have any question on that matter, you will have to contact your service provider as it's them who provides you that service and not Nokia.
There may be information on your providers web pages too!

I would like to know about the latest version of Nokia Messaging V10.2 (26) on N97 (V 22). Is it storing messages on C - Drive like always or has been shifted to Mass memory ?

I do not know if you are really so ignorant. Nokia Messaging on N97 is using our beloved C-memory although one has set that messaging property to be on E. thats mean it eats very easily 10 Mb as now they are also sync back to 30 days mail.
I have no idea from where nokia gets his engineers. Really amazing foreseeability.

Nokia N97 can't send picture message to Nokia 5800...

I have a Nokia 5800 and my partner has a N97 and he can receive my picture messages but he is unable to send to my phone. We have gone through all the trouble shooting with our service providers.
I put my sim card in two other new nokia 5800's and the message didn't come through, I then put my sim card in a different brand phone and I got the picture message! The phone shop said it must be a incompatibility between to two phones, I don't understand how two new nokia's can't send a picture message, has anyone heard about this? Any fixes??

Nokia Messaging not working on N97 - Can't seem to...

Hi everybody, this is my first post so I'll try to be as brief and descriptive as possible. I have tried countless email clients; nokia messaging, nokia email, mail for exchange, and none seem to work properly. The email seems to set up properly, it then says the mailbox has been defined and is now in the messaging place where the inbox and stuff is. So after that i would go into the mailbox by going into messaging, then 'hotmail.com' then it would ask me to connect, so I would let it, it would get all my emails from my inbox but when i choose to view them theres no option to display as html.
By the way after setting up my email, when going back to applications and looking at where it has 'Email' and 'Email Setup' clicking on email goes straight to the setup and starts all over again. Isn't it supposed to say 'Email settings'.
So anyway all i want to have is email with HTML, because at the moment when i recieve emails especially from ebay and facebook, it's so hard to see what the email's actually about. So please any help would be greatly appreciated. Please and thanks.

Try going into messaging-settings-email-mailboxes-hotmail-E-mail retrieval-set toMsgs.& attachments. make sure in settings-other, that memory in use is set to E or F and NOT C.
Also try this, it's just like the desktop version and sets another maibox up for you, but you have to sync manually, I find it useful

Is this services free of charge or a subscription period followed by a charge?
I like the look of it but dont fancy paying a subscription to it.

Messaging with MfE in N97

Hi, i am trying to set an email account in Nokia messaging client in my new N97, this is a corporate account, and must be connected by MfE, so I chose that option in the email setup wizard.
the problem is that it keeps giving me the error " you cannot have more than one account of this type" although I don't have any other MfE accounts installed.
can anyone help me fixing this issue.
oh and another issue, is there a way to move my Nokia messaging settings from my old E90 to the new N97 (like any setting files that hold the email account settings?)

Hi,
I came across the same problem as you had with "you cannot have more than one account of this type". I spent a few hours checking what the problem is, and after some trial and error, I found out that I have installed an application "Nokia Messaging" on my N97. I tried to uninstall this application by going into Settings-> Application Manager, and then I uninstalled the Nokia Messaging.
After I did that, it seems that my problem is gone and I can now continue to configure my Exchange server setup.
