From the Steinberg site, regarding the 3.1 update (which by the way is free). I think those features would be GREATLY needed by us Logic (and midi instruments) users.

Agreed.
Yamaha's 'MIDI Plugin' system for it's synths has been around for some time now, but the only sequencer to adopt it (that I know of) has been Cakewalk/Sonar.
I guess it was just a matter of course that it be introduced into Cubase too.
It doesn't provide anything which can't be done in Logic's Environment, (or in SoundDiver,
b if
the device is supported), but it does mean that the user has a ready-made solution.

It seems the best way is to use the "Set Up Assistant" on the first initial boot of your new machine with a Firewire connection. It will prompt you for transfering from your old Mac.
I've never had an issue with this method.

Adobe Support: Please Read, New Flash Not Working

Adobe, please read this. My Flash player is not working and I would be happy to help you troubleshoot. I have a completely fresh install of Windows XP on a Dell Laptop and the new Flash Player is not working. I am in the tech field so I will understand most of your requests...Here is my situation.
The problem began just after Christmas when I returned home from holidays and tried to watch videos, which I do all the time for both work and pleasure. Videos would not play in a watchable manner...I could hear audio but video was completely choppy and unwatchable. I researched and researched and implemented many suggestions but to no avail. Thus, I COMPLETELY rebuilt my system from scratch. (I needed to do this anyway since it had been 2 years.)
After the rebuild, on a completely fresh install of XP on a Dell D410 laptop (that was playing all videos just fine a week ago), I installed Firefox, went to youtube which prompted me to install Flash, and then had the exact same problem that I had before the complete reinstall of everything. There are scarecely any variables here other than the Dell Laptop, a standard Windows XP SP2 build, Firefox and Flash.
I think I have narrowed this problem down to two things. One, the new version of Flash.
It's choppy on youtube AND it's choppy on megavideo, the other place where I watch a lot videos.
I then tried on IE, which also prompted for the new version of flash, and also had the same problem. Chrome--same result.
However, this problem cannot be a universal problem with Flash otherwise nobody would be able to watch any videos onlline.
This leads me to the second problem, which a complete hypothesis but it seems to be the only thing left: my Dell laptop.
I have noticed that some of the other folks with reported problems, who mention their system type, are also using Dell laptops. Mine is an older d410, but as I said, it was running every video just fine up until a week or so ago when all of the sites forced me to install the new version of Flash. Most Dell laptops use a common video driver set and this is what is leading me to this conclusion.
So, could this be a problem with the new Flash and Dell laptops (or systems that use a common video driver)? As a reference point, my "display adapter" says "Mobile Intel (R) 915GM/GMS,910GML Express Chipset Family".
Viewing videos is part of my job (and entertainment) and I cannot do anything right now.
Someone out there...please hlep. Adobe, where are you? We are here providing you with all of the information that you need....

In summary, I have a fresh build of Windows XP, SP2 on a Dell D410 and the Flash player does not work. This affects at least 50% of the sites I visit. Right now, I simply have the Flash Player uninstalled and can surf the net rapidly. Once I install it, I am back to a crawl and still cannot affectively watch any videos (they all have extreme video choppiness but the audio is fine).
I need your help, Adobe. Everything was working fine until 2 weeks ago. It is unfair of you to distribute a product like this, force everyone to use it, and have it not work for some of us.
So far, this free product has cost me hundreds of dollars as a good part of my job is reviewing videos.
Many have suggested that I buy a new computer to fix the problem.
Is this really necessary?

We are running a SAP ERP Ecommerce, we get a strange alert box message "no more free items available, please create a new one". This alert window pops up only when you have created one order in a session and you are trying to create another order. Has anyone come across this issue?
Steps to recreated this issue
1. Create an order with any product - quantity is rounded to next possible value.
2. Order created, close the order.
3. Trying to create new order. (Product field is not a text box anymore)
4. Try to transfer product from catalog by hitting shopping basket icon.
5. Error message -> "No more free items available, please create new one".

If you are talking about Safari on the iPad, there is no version of Adobe Flash for iOS and there never has been. Clear Safari, close the app and reset the iPad.
Go to Settings>Safari>Clear History and Website Data
In order to close apps, you have to drag the app up from the multitasking display. Double tap the home button and you will see apps lined up going left to right across the screen. Swipe to get to the app that you want to close and then swipe "up" on the app preview thumbnail to close it.
Reset the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider if it appears on the screen - let go of the buttons. Let the iPad start up.
If you are talking about Safari on your Mac, you are in the wrong forum. But I would still clear the cache, quit Safari and restart the Mac.

No. The iOS 6.0.2 update was only to address issues with the WiFi chipset in the iPhone 5 and iPad mini. Whether a future software update will add LTE support to existing iPhone 5 units, none of us here can say.

Can't create a new SQL Azure Standard Tier db

I'm having an issue creating a new sql azure standard tier db. Here's the basic steps I've done to migrate a web tier db.
Register for the sql preview programme
https://account.windowsazure.com/PreviewFeatures
Perform a db export to blob storage
use the + (new) button to create a new SQL db
select the import option
browser to your saved export
hopefully see the new tiers as options in dialog.
The new tiers require a separate server to web. Can create this from the import dialog
I have 2 independent azure accounts, the above process worked for my test account but for the live account where I was also experimenting after success on the test account I hit an issue. I request to create a new server whilst importing. This step seems
to work but then the actual import fails with this msg

Tried a couple of times but no joy. Using the portal I can browse to the new sql server and it looks okay other than the list of ENABLED
RESERVATION SIZES ONLY HAS P1, P2, P3 I'm requesting a standard (s1) db not premium (P1, P2, P3). On my test server I see in this list also S1,
S2. As you can see in the error message I'm requesting Edition = Standard. I get the feeling the newly created server is not accepting standard tier dbs?
Now the server is created if I try an import I see the server in the list of available servers but when I select a tier of Basic or Standard the new server is grayed out, not so if I select Premium or the older Web or Business? Interestingly my current live
sql server shows up as supporting the new premium?

SAP provides include structure CI_QMEL for QM10 transaction.
so create CI_QMEL Structure and add field as u need.
But after that u need to assign it some where i don't know , check with ur funcntional consultants.

You need to copy the std report and make necessary changes in the copied report. SAP does not allow changes to std report. The technical details of the report can be seen by selecting from the menu Extras - technical information. Select the library and Report name. Copy the same using t code GRR1. Carry out necessary changes and SAVE. Before execution, you will have to specify the report group in which report needs to be attached. You can choose and existing group or specify a new one.

Poor performance of new SQL Azure Standard database

This is not new information. The revised SQL models (basic|standard|premium) perform poorly compared to the earlier web|business databases. We are talking orders of magnitude - over 4 minutes to perform an update vs. 19 seconds. (UPDATE Invoice SET
SalesOrderID = O.SalesOrderID FROM Invoice INNER JOIN SalesOrder AS O ON Invoice.InvoiceID = O.InvoiceID for 196043 rows.
Microsoft is saying we can only use the web database until September, 2015. Moving to new model (tried standard S2) will cause the project to fail.
There are numerous posts on the Internet identifying this problem. How do we get Microsoft's attention? This is an Azure killer. Fortunately for us, there are a number of other hosting solutions
available.
If this problem is not resolved in the next few months, we will be forced to abandon Microsoft Azure!

Our application is a desktop application that communicates to the web role using a single WCF call. In the server pipeline, a call is made to a method that looks like this, except all the error trapping is removed here for brevity:

While building this application over the last year, we did occasional performance testing with the Windows client reporting on logout to the server the mean service time for a complete session. Quite frankly, I was amazed at the performance. While
slightly slower than the development machine, the performance was acceptable from the user perspective over the Internet.
Not so anymore. The mean service time on the Azure server has increased dramatically resulting in timeouts.
We will be sticking with the Web edition for one more month during development. At that time, we will switch to Premium(P1) for user acceptance testing. It should be interesting see what the mean, median and standard deviation session server statistics
are.
The performance of SqlAzure web edition is no longer acceptable. I sure hope Premium(P1) makes it.

Upgrade to new 802.11ac standard

So I'm looking for a new router. Upgrading from an older 802.11g, and looking forward to a nice 802.11N, but now I'm hearing about the newer 802.11ac standard, and I want it. Problem is that even the newest macbook pro is not supporting that. I have an older macbook pro from 2009 that I love and see no good reason to upgrade from. What I'm wanting to know is if I would eventually be able to upgrade my hardware, along with any necessary firmware/software, in order to bring me up to the ac standard, or would I really need to buy a new mac? The latter isn't happening any time soon, but if I could do the former, I'd by the 802.11.ac router now, in readiness for an upgrade.
Oh, and I'm running Lion (10.7.4).
