I am trying to help my son download music to his ipod for the first time. However, on the itunes program, the icon for ipod as a source is not there on the itunes. I just updated the ipod. What do I do?

New user to Oracle 11i who needs help on creation of new fixed asset class
Hi all,
I am new to my Company who is using Oracle 11i. And the Company has a new class of fixed asset and a GL code has been created. But there is no link between the Fixed Asset Manager and the GL code, i.e. depreciation is not linked, additions are not captured into "Cost register", no asset number was assigned in Oracle. Please help.

No, Simon, it does not work that way.
First, be sure that the distribution line has the flag "Track as Asset" checked.
Second, the GL Account to be used on the distribution line must be the one defined, in the FA Asset Category, as the Asset Clearing Account.
In FA, navigate to /Setup/Asset System/Asset Categories. Following, query a Category. There you can see which account has been used as the Asset Clearing Account.
You can use as many Asset Clearing accounts as you which, but normally, all Categories share the same account.
Now reverse the distribution line and cretae a new one with the correct account. Post it, run the Mass Additions Process and you will see the that the addition was created.

Those who need help converting in iTunes:
If you're like me and needed an mp3 file or anything but kept getting stuck with m4a, there's a SIMPLE way to fix this (not the crap people give you about having to burn CDs and stuff)-
1. Open iTunes and go into your preferences.
2. Select the importing tab.
3. Where it says "Import Using: (AAC ENCODER)" just select the one that says MP3 encoder, or whatever other file you want it to be.
4. Go back into your library with those changed settings.
5. Select a song (or a number of songs), hold the option key while you click it and select "Convert selection to (MP3)".
Very simple. It makes a copy of the song in that format. There's no need to waste a CD, nor go to some website and pay for a converter. I hope that helped some of you.The only time when people talk about "burning CDs and stuff" is when protected iTMS content is in question. Besides that, I don't think there is much mystery in transcoding files in iTunes, as it's pretty straightforward.

For Mom who needs little: Old mini or new mini?
I am upgrading my Mom from a 1994 Performa to a Mini, but I am on the fence as to previous version for $400ish or new version for $500ish. I want this to be as low budget as you go for a new mac. If it was a $3,000 mac I would get newer, but for $100 off at this low level I could most of a new flat LCD for the difference.
Both new and old are plenty powerful/large for her email/www needs and occasional Word/Xcel and iPhoto/iTunes;-) I don't think she will be burnings lots of discs (I can do it on my mac for her every year need)
SO my question would be...do you think firewire 400/800, superdrive, and any differences in monitor ports make a $100 difference?? I sound cheap, but maybe the newer mini might have some "cons" that I did not think of?? She may have this mac for another 5-10 years so is there a tangible reason to get the newer?

Unfortunately when I brought my mp3 a friend set it all up and i didn't take any notice. I am now trying to download more songs and for some reason nothing is transferring. I have also managed to delete all the previous songs off my player but they are still in the Creative Media Playlist but not on my actual mp3. HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I need some advice about my fifth generation ipod. Apple isn't any help at all. My ipod has 40GB, or at least it is supposed to. It is supposed to hold 10,000 songs, but it won't even hold 1,000. It's used, I bought it pre-owned because I could get more GB for less money. So, not only does it not hold 10,000 songs, but it also has a very dirty short story in the notes section that I cannot figure out how to get off. Im considering buying a power mac G5 but only cuz its all i can afford and i got an idea about hooking ut up to my tv but i would want to be able to use a wireless keyboard and traction pad but i did some reserch online and found out i need a airport extreme with 2.0 EDR to enable bluetooth which is a requirement for the wireless keyboard. Where can I find the AirPort Extreme with Bluetooth 2.0+EDR card? I am a new user upgrading from using Premiere 6.5. I have had much success but there is one part that I can't figure out. I know on the 6.5 verison I would be able to right click my video, click on "Video" and then click on "motion" to adjust the size of the video as if I wanted to scroll text next to the video. I can't seem to figure that out in this new version. Help!

VinceLeft-click to Select the Clip. Look in the Effects Control Panel and you will see all of the Fixed Effects (Motion, Opacity, etc.) and any Effects that you have added. Their control (plus Keyframing) will be found there. By default, it is in the Pane with the Audio Mixer and the Source Monitor.

First of all, I want to thank all people who will at least read my thread. I'm a junior consultant who need help on SAP BPC (Business Planning and Consolidation) - ex. OutllookSoft. So, if you have some tutorials, some documents, something that can help me to learn how to use SAP BPC, I will be very grateful to you. Up to now, I just read the "Help" of SAP BPC (OutlookSoft 4.2.419), the version I have to use. But it is just a technical help, I have nothing about the terms used (what is an application, a member, etc.), the philosophy of the tool, etc. To finish, if someone, from Paris (in France) is using this tool, I can pay him or her to form me on this tool.

Under the heading, SAP BPC 5.0, click on "Application help and Installation Guide".
This will take you to the document repository in SAP Marketplace. You will get the documents which will provide you with the basic understanding of the tool.
However, you will need S-user ID to ligon to SAP Marketplace.

I hope this section will work, i couldnt find a place for Hang ups, and this problem doesnt usually cause a full crash, which is why it was hard to figure it out.
I finally used the program WhatisHang to try to get an idea of what is causing the seemingly random hanging, but have been unable to find anyone who can help me with it.
I have posted the Troubleshooting Information, though i dont think it would be of much help.
I have the report available but dont know where i can post it.I must admit I seem possibly to be suffering from hangs also, although as I am often not in a hurry when using firefox on this machine it has little impact. I am using a legacy computer and tend to blame this on the computer or maybe background tasks such as from security software or indexing.

Have you tried to rule out
* background tasks are the problem, <br/>(at least monitor what else is running using Task Manager or sysinternals process explorer)

* any other interacting programs or plugins <br/>(some may not be listed in firefox, you may need to check / uninstall from the OS {Windows Control Panel})
**it may also be an idea to check hangs still occur when WhatIsHangs is not in use.
* have you tried logging the cc & gc times in the error console, <br/>(if for instance you see times in 1000s of milliseconds appearing you may have then identified one reason for firefox being unresponsive, even if the cause is not yet identified. - a symptom the memshrink firefox developers will no doubt be eager to investigate)
* if you can get hangs in safe mode, on at least the Aurora channel releases I suggest you immediately go ahead and file a bug yourself. (I will try to find time if not today then next weekend to look more closely at my own system to see if it is showing hangs in firefox use)

** As you have changed preferences, I suggest you include as a attachment in the bug your list of user modified preferences (use ''about:support'' or Troubleshooting Information option)

I will try to find and download a copy of WhatIsHang, see if it works on my system and what results it then shows.
I realise I have not said anything terribly helpful I solving your problem, but I suspect you are not alone in having hangs, if you are able to spare the time to investigate and report I am sure it will help others.
Firefox has had a few problems recently that would have been solved sooner if they were investigated when first reported, but unfortunatly an advantage of firefox is how easy it is to customise, but the downside is differentiating between a firefox fault and customisation problems. -

As has been pointed out, OWC is an excellent source for Mac compatible RAM. Crucial is another first rate source for Mac RAM. RAM from either vendor will work just as well as any purchased from Apple with the bonus of being less expensive and having a lifetime guarantee.

Adobe Reader 7.0.8 in Fedora Core 6
Not much to say here - it does not work. Prints expr: expression error endlessly.
