A movie that I rented continues to download endlessly. Any suggestions?
The screen keeps reading "ready to play in __ minutes" The minutes keep going up and down ranging from as low as 19 to as much as over an hour. The network is fine as other devices within the house all are working just fine when tested.
Sounds as htough your network speed is variable (other devices could be using bandwidth leaving less for AppleTV?).
Your connection is presumably (to internet) less than 6 Mbps which is needed for near instant playback due to large size of HD movie files.
When that's the case the unit will calculate current internet sped and how long it will take to download enough movie to play - if the speed is not constant the calculation will change.
Also if you do other things with AppleTV2 while waiting (eg view trailers, play local content) you may reset the download to start agai which is annoying thing.

If you've downloaded them directly on the iPad then they should be in the Videos app (iTunes on the iPad is just the iTunes store) - if they are not in there then are they hidden by a film age rating in Settings > General > Restrictions ?

No, you will still need to pay the full price, whether you've previously rented it isn't taken into account.

In my (father's) case, inside the
Library/Mail/POP-username@serveraddress ,
there was a "folder" named "Deleted Messages". The icon was also a standard folder icon.
Just by renaming it to "Deleted Messages.mbox",
the icon was changed to a document tray icon,
and deleting messages started working. -

I purchased a new laptop with windows 7 and i am using mozilla firefox as browser and i cannot get itunes to download at all. it will download to 99% with a few seconds remaining but will not complete the download. Any suggestions on what to try next as i have tried turning off firewalls etc. I have wiped the computer and reloaded everything again but still i cannot get itunes to load

iPad keeps saying iOS 5.1.1 is "up to date" -- yet trying to download iOS6 -- any suggestions? Have tried "settings" on the iPad, which continues to say 5.1.1 is up-to-date, and have sync'd with iTunes, which also says the iOS 5.1.1 is up-to-date.
No, the ipad first gen. will be getting no more updates. Its no longer available in the apple store.

I understand that you are not able to sync a few songs you purchased from iTunes to your iPhone and other devices. There may be an issue with the file, but if you have the Apple ID and password used to purchase the songs, you can redownload them. You can even download the song directly to your iPhone.
