A network error has occured. This computer's Internet connection appears to

Hi all
I keep getting this message evertime I try to open Quicktime but I dont understand it! any ideas?!

To Apple Discussions!
The following also applies to the original poster Richard Woodger:
What type of internet connection do you have? Unknown if that could be part of the problem especially if you both have dial-up service.
Also, which browser & version were you both using? If the browser was not the latest version, update it, repair permissions & see if that stops the error.
I couldn't find anything to directly connect this error to QuickTime.
See the following Knowledge Base Articles. They may be of some help:

http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=30995 QuickTime Streaming Server: General Information
Until others chime in with troubleshooting solutions, you both may want to research this error on your own by going to the top left of this site & click on Advance Search inside the purple menu bar. In the search field of Advanced Search type in the error code A network error has occured. This computer's Internet connection appears to be online.
Good luck!

I'm the Adnin. just recently I tried to update system software (Lion OS). The following message was returned. None of the selected updates could be saved. A network error has occurred. Check your Internet connection, and then try again. but I have internet access )email, Safari, etc.). Any idea of what is happenening?

The error may be at Apple's end rather than yours. It could also be due to corrupted files on your computer. Try deleting the following:

    /Home/Library/Caches/com.apple.SoftwareUpdate/
    /Library/Preferences/com.apple.SoftwareUpdate.plist
    Restart your computer.

  • I keep getting a network error has occured how do I fix this?

So I just got the LG Vortex, and I am learning quite a bit, I have set up a google account and went through all the steps but when I go to the market place, or any other apps it says a network error has occured..Is it set up wrong? I have it set up on 3G mobile Hotspot.

3G Mobile Hotspot can share the phone’s 3G data connection with any Wi-Fi capable devices.
You would want to make sure that feature is off, then you could just use the network to access the Android Market Place.
Power the device off then back on, then dial *228 send and option 2 on the device.
Then try accessing the Market Place again.

    Hi rebjrbaker,
I'm guessing that you're trying to log in to the service from within Reader. If that's the case, you may need to update the version of Reader you're using. Choose Help > Check for Updates. You should be using version 11.0.9 (this update was just released on Tuesday, 9/16).

  • Publishing Universal App - An unexpected network error has occurred

    Hello,
Each time that we tried to "Associate App with Store" or Create App package" via Visual Studio 2013 to publish our Windows Phone 8.1 Universal app, we have the error "An unexpected network error has occurred. the app list cannot be refreshed.
Please retry by pressing the refresh button".
Our account has more 100 WP apps, and we saw that it could be the problem?
With Silverlight app, it was easy to generate a XAP. But now with Universal Apps, due to this issue, we are blocking! Please Microsoft, can you correct this bug?
    Thanks

    Hello Sroye.
I have been struckling with the same problem. Copying large data amounts between my MacBook and my Airdisk works perfectly (though slowly).
But copying data amounts larger than about 300MB from my XP to my airdisk suddenly stops with the error you get. Hereafter I cannot access the airdisk until I have re-started both my AEBS and my 500GB LaCie HFS+ formatted disk drive.
I use the new 7.1.1 firmware version in my AEBS.
    Have you solved your problem?
    Kind regards Thomas.

  • A networking error has occurred: Cannot open file (-3001)

When I attempt to use Software Update I get the following message: "A networking error has occurred: Cannot open file (-3001)"
I am connected to the Internet, can connect with iDisk no problem. Manual downloading also works.
Any ideas? Do I trash a corrupted file or what?
    Many thanks in advance.

I troubleshot this problem with a helpful Apple tech person who provided a workaround:
Establish a second identity. After you log out of your own identity and into the second identity, you can successfully use software update. He had me trash a number of items deep within the system but nothing else worked. I also ran the Utilities program both off the system and the 10.5 disk with no effect.
So far then, the only solution appears to be the second identity route or to manually download and apply updates. Quite a mystery I'd say!
    Any ideas out there?

  • A networking error has occurred: Error NSURLErrorDomain -1005 (-1005).

Tiger 10,4,10 6 wks old, new Mac user. Believed I had a hacker, Genius Bar disconnected bluetooth and Wifi. 35 pass erase, reinstallation. While in the process of updating, everything updated (at least 7 items) EXCEPT iLife Support version 8.1 which gave me this error:
"A networking error has occurred: Error NSURLErrorDomain -1005 (-1005). Make sure you can connect to the Internet, then try again."
I have tried numerous times, still get this message. Any information?

    Welcome to Apple Discussions!
I have gotten that error numerous times both with my iBook and with my MBP. I connect using the internal modem on the iBook and the external modem on the MBP using dial up. I have always just assumed it was a problem with the telephone line but I don't really know. I just keep trying and eventually I get a successful download. But I am curious about this too.

  • FRM-92102 - A network error has occured

    Hi,
I'm deploying a forms 9i application on the intranet. I'm using Oracle Application Server Forms and Reports Services 9.0.4 under Red Hat Linux AS 4.0, along with an Oracle 9i Database on another server (actually multiple databases, used for benchmarking). Every time I connect from a remote PC on the network under Windows XP Pro or Windows 2003 Server, after a few seconds or minutes, I get the error message: FRM-92102 - A network error has occured after ...
I did a lot of research on the internet. I'm using Internet Explorer 6.0, so I tried from Netscape 8.0 and Netscape 7.0, but I got the same problem. I changed the networkRetries in the formsweb.cfg to 5, but it didn't change anything.
On the other hand, I installed the Oracle Application Server Forms and Reports 9.0.4 on a Windows platform and it works perfectly, with no network error problems.
Also note that the Forms 9i application uses Webutil.
So, right now, I'm a bit lost. Can anyone please tell me if there is some parameter I have to set, or something I should do to make it work?
    Thanks a lot

Have you tried resetting your iPad? You may have to restore again if there was a problem.
    Try the reset first.
Reset the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons.

  • When trying to use App Store I get a message "could not sign in an unknown error has occurred." I reset our connection and turned off iPad. Any suggestions?

When trying to use the App Store, I get a message "could not sign in, an unknown error has occurred,  any suggestions what is wrong?  I reset our Internet and turned off the iPad.

Sign out of your account, restart the iPad and then sign in again.
Settings>iTunes & App Store>Apple ID. Tap your ID and sign out. Restart the iPad by holding down on the sleep button until the red slider appears and then slide to shut off. To power up hold the sleep button until the Apple logo appears and let go of the button.
Go back to Settings>iTunes & App Store>Sign in and then try again.

  • FRM-92102: A network error has occured [IBM AIX 5.3]

    Hi All,
I have deployed my oracle forms application on Oracle 10g(10.1.2.0.2) Application Server installed on IBM AIX 5.3 Server. Forms developed on Developer Suite 10g.
When I login to the application and start working, The FRM-92102 Error pops up and I have to quit, without any other option
Soon, when I check the opmnctl status, I see OC4J_BI_Forms moved into "init" state. After sometime the state gets into "Alive”. Then i run my application again only to get the same pop again.
The pop up occurs randomly. Neither specific form nor operation invokes it! I don’t know why the Status of OC4J_BI_Forms suddenly gets into "init" state? Since it’s in "init" state the Application is loosing a connection to forms service and popping up the above error.
Pls find the detailed logs in below link

I have a dead line to meet in Next weekend. Any help is highly appreciated.

    Hi All,
I resolved this by editing opmn.xml file.
    Change
    <data id="/reports/rwservlet/pingserver?start=auto" value="20000"/>
    to
    <data id="/reports/rwservlet/" value="20000"/>
