A notification that won't go away once looked at

I have a Ipod touch 4G and there is a notification on the settings, but everytime I go onto it, there is nothing there that I haven't looked at but the notification still stays there. Any ideas of how to get rid of it?

Whatis the wording of the notification?

  • TS3274 I have a pop up notification that won't go away after I hit OK

My son used my Ipad with the app "Find my iPhone" to find his iTouch.  We have done this many times with both devices only this time when I open my iPad the notification is there stating "Iphone has been found" hit "OK".  I hit OK and the notification doesn't go away, therefore not allowing me to get onto the iPad. I hit is a thousand times.  I tried turning it off, charging the battery - it is still there.  Is there a way to reset the iPad?  Thanks.

Definitely try Grumpy's solutions first.  They're quick and easy.
If they don't help, try a Restore.  Note that it's nowhere near as quick as a Reset.  Connect via cable to the computer that you use for sync.  From iTunes, select the iPad/iPod and then select the Summary tab.  Follow directions for Restore and be sure to say "yes" to the backup.  You will be warned that all data (apps, music, movies, etc.) will be erased but, as the Restore finishes, you will be asked if you wish the contents of the backup to be copied to the iPad/iPod.  Again, say "yes."
At the end of the basic Restore, you will be asked if you wish to sync the iPad/iPod.  As before, say "yes."  Note that that sync selection will disappear and the Restore will end if you do not respond within a reasonable time.  If that happens, only the apps that are part of the IOS will appear on your device.  Corrective action is simple -  choose manual "Sync" from the bottom right of iTunes.
If you're unable to do the Restore, go into Recovery Mode per the instructions here.

  • I have a new email notification that won't go away, (Exchange), though I do not have a new email. How do i resolve this?

I have a notification for my Exchange account saying I have a new email. Though, I don't and there are no unread emails in that account. How do I get rid of this? Any ideas?

Try tapping Settings > Mail, Contacts, Calendars > your Exchange account > turn Mail off and see if the badge goes away. Then turn Mail back on for the Exchange account.
If that doesn't do it, you can try restarting or restoring the iPhone.

  • A notification that won't go away

I've got a notification showing up on my Blackberry in the same place I would normally get notifications for texts or missed calls. It's the wifi signal, with a one next to it. However, whenever I try checking it, nothing shows up. When I was at my local Walmart I tried connecting to the wifi there while I waited for my brother to finish his transaction; it took me to a page to agree to terms and conditions, but just when I agreed to them, my brother called for my help bagging his items and I shoved my phone into my pocket without disconnecting the wifi first. I didn't take my phone out again until I was at home, when it connected to my home's wifi. That was the first time I noticed the notification.
I saw a proposed solution that said to go to the Blackberry messages, go to the "Browser Messages" folder, and check it there, but there are no unread notifications - but the notification is still there. I've already tried turning it off and turning it on again.
    Any suggestions?

Whatis the wording of the notification?

  • I have calendar notifications that won't go away, even though I've deleted all occurrences of the calendar, including on my iPhone, my iPad, my Mac and iCloud

I have a calendar that I've deleted EVERYWHERE, and re-synced. But the calendar alerts are still appearing on my iPad and my iPhone. HELP!

if password is correct - you are not connected to internet. Connect if you can. If you can't connect - you may have to restore ipad in recovery mode.
But if password is incorrect - that will render ipad useless.

When I try to download apps in my iphone , I get a spinning circle that won't go away and a grey icon that says "waiting" .Any ideas how to fix the problem?

First go into settings, Itunes and App store,  sign out and then sign in again! (This might not work)

  • Have a number badge in settings that won't go away and there are no updates that need to be done.  Help!!!

On my settings, there is a number one (red) that won't go away.  There are no updates that need to be done.

Maybe you should try updating 5.1.1 from iTunes? Because I had the same thing and it was 5.0.1.

  • When I try to go to the app store, I have a popup for a game that won't go away.  I can't get it off the screen. Suggestions?

When I try to go to the app store, I have a popup for a free game that won't go away.  I can't get into the app store.

This happened to me twice lately.  I finally got around it by double tapping the home key to go back to the homepage finding the app store that was running and flicked  it up to get rid of it.
When I went back to the App Store the Popup was gone.

    I FIXED IT.
The issue was a folder name.  For some reason, a folder was name Fersions when it should have been called Version.  I have no clue why it was named that way, but I named it correctly and the error disappeared.

I have a "call-out" that won't go away.  It's there no matter where I go, or what I do within iBook, be it my library, or other books.  How can I get it to go away?

Have you tried turning your phone off and back on?
Reset the phone hold the home button and the sleep button in until the phone turns off ignore the "slide to power off" message and keep holding the buttons, the phone will reboot

  • Ghost Rental in my IPOD Video Library...there's a video that I rented that won't go away...how to remove?

I rented a video on my ipod, watched it, and now it won't go away.  I can't rewatch it either.  When I sync, it is not on the computer as far as rentals.  Can anyone help me remove this?

See if you have enabled 'VoiceOver'…
Open Apple Menu > System Preferences > Accessibility, select VoiceOver in the sidebar list, disable that if it is enabled. You may also see a keyboard shortcut listed there (e.g. cmd+F5), it's possible you hit that accidentally

  • Clicking sound that won't go away

    Please Help -
I downloaded the quicktime software that enables QT to read mpeg2 videos and when I rebooted the volume window/display appeared in the middle of the screen. Now it won't go away and there is never ending clicking sound that is coming out at full volume. Plus when I go to turn it down, it automatically goes back up to full volume.
I've booted and rebooted and nothing changes.
    Doea anyone have any suggestions

Only other thing I can think of would be to go into the Sound prefs/setup pane and disable the connection/signal to that device before sleeping the machine. If that works, then perhaps an AppleScript or Automator script could be written to facilitate doing that before sleep, and afterwards to re-enable it when needed.
If the Newmark device has an on/off switch, perhaps using it would be sufficient.
You might check the Numark website, see if they have a tech support area and if so, if there has been mention of a similar problem. If there is, a solution may be posted.

  • Strange file in trash that won't go away?

I have a strange file that appeared in my Trash the other day. I tried to empty the trash multiple times, but it won't go away. Secure empty trash doesn't help, as it just gets stuck. Double-clicking on the file, getting info on the file, or dragging the file out of the trash just results in the item disappearing, only to reappear shortly thereafter. Here is a screenshot of the filename, as it is very strange (I am posting it as a picture so there are no font issues):
Click on the image if it doesn't appear.
I have no idea what's going on. I tried repairing permissions to no avail. Should I run a disk utility such as Techtool or Diskwarrior? Is this a virus? Could this be related to my weird Time Machine issues (where Time Machine will come up with an error, see below for picture)?
Click on the image if it doesn't appear.

from Apple docs worked for me. Mine was \\\\\\\.\\\ derived from installing Windows.
If there are several locked files in the Trash, you can unlock them all at the same time at the command line. Follow these steps:
    1. Open Terminal. It's located in /Applications/Utilities.

Type: chflags -R nouchg
Note: Type one space (not pictured) after nouchg in the line above, so that it ends in "nouchg ". Do not press Return yet.

    2. Double-click the Trash icon in the Dock to reveal the contents of the Trash. If necessary, arrange the Finder window so that a portion of the Terminal window is still visible.
    3. Press the Command-A key combination to select all files in the Trash.
    4. Drag the files from the Trash to the Terminal window.
Note: This automatically enters the pathname for each file. This eliminates the need to individually empty multiple Trash directories, particularly when multiple disks or volumes are present.

    5. Press Return. No special text message will be shown indicating that the command was successful.
    6. Empty the Trash.
If the Trash does not empty or if you see a message in Terminal that says "usage: chflags [-R [-H | -L | -P]] flags file..." you most likely did not type the text in step 2 as indicated or did not leave a space. Repeat the steps if this happens.
