a plug/unplug of the cable between the laptop and the iPad leads to a shutdown of the McBookPro
who can help me ?
or what shall I do ?

First, try another cable. If that doesn't do it, make a Genius Bar appointment and take in both the MBP and the iPad.

  • Help me explain to someone the difference between a laptop and an Ipad?

She keep comming up with these wierd questions? I know the difference but I'm having trouble explaining it to her to make her understand.
    Thankx

a laptop can do everything her desktop can, including printing, keeping lots of folders with stuff in them, working on Ms Office, Databsess, playing flash games etc...
The ipad is meant to look at data. Books, pictures, videos, web pages, email, and listen to your ipod, of course. You can add programs, but they are normally not as functional (limited to some degree) when compared to desktop equivalents. There is a good spreadsheet, presentation program and word processor, however they are not the full programs as on her desktop.
The ipad is better for use around the house, when not needing to create complicated documents, print etc...
A typical night can be using it to see whats on the Tv that evening, finding nothing (no big surprise there), letting my 4 y/o play a game or two (usually shape matching or letters/shapes/numbers), reading a few pages of whinnie the pooh to him in his darkened room as he falls asleep. Then, since nothing is on tv, running the netflix app to stream a movie to it sitting in your lap. Head ot bed, reading on old Sci-Fi book from the 50's that was one of the 30,000+ on gutenberg for free, the backlight dimmed so as not ot keep my better half awake. Around midnight (good book , couldn't pout it down), plug it in to charge and see it still has over 10% battery left.
    Hope that gives her something,
    Jason

  • HT4623 I have an iPad 3.2 and would like to upgrade the IOS to 5 or 6. I'm having difficulty doing so, including using a cable between my laptop and my iPad. What should I do?

I have an iPad 3 and have attempted, without success, to upgrade to iOS to 5 or 6. I've tried it wirelessly, without success, and cabled it to my laptop, also without success.  What am I doing wrong?

The option to update without the computer (Over the air) was made available with iOS 5. If your iDevice is using a version of iOS lower than 5, you will need to use iTunes on your syncing computer to perform the upgrade. Use the Apple link below as a guide for the upgrade.

Also read the instructions from the section entitled "Update your device using iTunes" at the link below.

  • What is the diffrence between a javabean and  EJB

    hi!
what is the diffrence between a javabean and entreprise jvaabeans! i mean which are the uitilization featires of eaxh one !

i am seeking for a solution for my problem , in fact i ma trying to implement and develop an application with java that allows a certain range of IP adresses to be connected to a database server in order to extract the suitable data from the server .
let me explain mor ethe suitation , in fact what i am loking for is to use javabeans to grant my application much more consistence and pertinence : si i am asking if it could be possible to use javabeans in my case especially if i am not trying to developp a web application but a cleint /server one allowing some services.
The application is in fact dealing with a stock exchange market and what i am trying to do is to grant particilar registrated customers to have the informations that they need ( portofolio, currency's status, market indicators, .) also drawing some charts decribing rates, variations, and others specefic financial caracterestics .So , if we consider that this application is not a web application ( no HTTP request and no servers like apache or others ) how it is possible to use javabeans and not EJB to build the application? i mean what could be suitable and preferable to rely on and dvelop to ensure a good java application !!
if you need more details to help you find the answer for me don't hesitate to answer me back !!
Someone here gave me that answer
use RMI to code the services and (Updateable) Value Objects to pass the information between tiers.
RMI is an all-java distributed component framework (ie. EJB, CORBA, DCE/RPC, DCOM, etc.), that is very suitable for developing non-containerized multi-tier applications. Refer to the RMI trail in the Java Tutorial as a starting point for coding RMI solutions (http://java.sun.com/docs/books/tutorial/index.html). Under this scenario you would code the database access service as an RMI service (server-side). Client/server communication should be facilitated through the use of JavaBeans/classes that wrap the information being passed (customer information, portfolio details, market information, etc.) - these are refered to as 'Updateable Value Objects' (a design pattern). Graphing and charting would be handled in your client from the information received from the (RMI) server. GUI JavaBeans can be used to provide this functionality as well as other client-side services. There are numerous "shrink-wrapped" components for GUIs available on the market just peruse any Java magazine to find them.
but how comes? how can i do it !! and where can i find more information please about 'Updateable Value Object "
    thanks

    Hi,
If you have to deal with more complex situations, you can define a delivery cycle in the material master record in addition to the planning cycle. In so doing, you determine the days on whichthe vendor delivers his goods. The delivery cycle is entered in the material master record as a planning calendar in the Planning calendar field.
You enter a delivery cycle if the delivery date (or the goods receipt date) depends on the day on which you order the goods. For example, you carry out the planning run and place your orders on Mondays and Tuesdays. If you place the order on Monday, the delivery is made on Wednesday, if you wait until Tuesday to place the order, the delivery is not made until Friday
Where as Planning calander is Three character number (numeric or using letters) that specifically identifies a PPS-planning calendar. The difference between Planning calender and delivery cycle is If you have selected the MRP type "MRP" and have set a period lot-sizing procedure according to planning calendar, you enter here which planning calendar is to be used.
If you selected the "time-phased planning" MRP type, the planning calendar that you specify here defines the delivery cycle. This specifies the days on which the vendor delivers the material. You can enter the planning cycle in addition to the delivery cycle

What's the difference between Shut down and Log out?

Welcome to the Apple Support Communities
The shut down turns off the Mac and a log out closes your user and take your computer to the log in screen. To sell the Mac, you have to reinstall Mac OS X erasing the disk. Open  > About this Mac and copy Version

  • Problem in creating the trasformation between my DataSource and InfoCube

    Hi All,
when i am trying to create the trasformation between my DataSource and InfoCube through "Create Trasformation"...in the source of trasformation area when i am giving my DataSource 0CO-OM_CCA_1 and in the Source System T90CLNT090. system is showing the message "Source RSDS 0CO_OM_CCA_1 T90CLNT090 not active".......what to do ???.....then I went and check the monitoring tab there I got the system message that I am attaching belowu2026u2026Please provide the solution..........previously when i was doing that time there was no problem, but i was unable to transfer the data from my PSA to Infocube. So i have deleted the transfer rule and every thing and then when i am trying again i am getting this error.....so plz advise. The system message isu2026..
u201CActive version of emulated 3.x DataSource 0CO_OM_CCA_1(T90CLNT090) cannot be displayed
    Message no. RSDS170
    Diagnosis
The A version of the emulated 3.x DataSource cannot be displayed because no active transfer structure with PSA is available.
    Procedure
Create a mapping between the 3.x DataSource and a 3.x InfoSource and activate the transfer rules. Select PSA as the transfer method in the 3.x InfoSource.
Alternatively, you can migrate the 3.x DataSource in a DataSource to create an active version.u201D

when u deleted tranfer rule , psa for the DataSource 0CO-OM_CCA_1 is no longer available..
since u plan to use transformation, its better to migrate the DataSource 0CO-OM_CCA_1 to 7.0 version...
just select the datasource and right click.. migrate to 7.0... once its migrated, u can create the transformation..also create info package and DTP for loading data to cube...
if u don't want to migrate to 7.x .. then create infosource .. transfer rule and update rule..

  • What is the difference between physical topology and network topology ,

    HI
what is the difference between physical topology and network topology ,
    adil

They are tightly linked. The network topology is only interested in the networking links between servers or other actors. A physical topology contains the servers as well as the networking components between them. You might use the term in a different
manner which related to various site's physical attributes such as location but I doubt that's what the document you're working from means.

  • What is the difference between message type and element

    hi,
When we create a new variable in BPEL we get the option to create 'simple', 'message type', 'element'
I would like to know what is the difference between message type and element.
    thanks
    Yatan

A message is part of the service and is usually assigned to one of the operations in the wsdl. For example getPhoneNumer() operation may have an input message of personInput and output of phoneNum. These messages would have a type...maybe of string or decimal or a complex type with multiple values.
An element is typically a complex type that could be defined in an xsd file.
When you create a variable in the bpel, you can declare it as a message or a simple type or an element. As I understand it, the simple types are pre-defined in the schema namespace such as string, decimal, date, etc.
The elements are defined in the xsd files or wsdls and can be a combination of strings, dates, etc or other stuff as well.
The messages are defined in the wsdl as part of the input/output but they are typically assigned a type just like other variables you create.

  • What is the difference between AK Repository and MDS repository?

    HI all,
I am pretty new to OA framework . Can anyone let me know the difference between AK Repository and MDS repository?
    Thanks
    -Chacko

AK Repository stores the page flows developed using the AK Developer. This is outdated and Oracle only supports for backwards compatibility.
is correct only if looked at from OAF perspective, for many other products/modules, AK dictionary is still the source the truth for metadata. Thanks

  • What is the difference between quarterly patches and patch sets

    Hello,
What is the difference between quarterly patches and patch sets?
Should we always apply the latest quarterly pathches?
Is it better to apply to the latest patch set if one can afford?

The quarterly patch sets are generally security fixes, or Critical Patch Updates (CPU). Oracle strongly recommends that the CPU patches are applied. CPU and quarterly patches do not change the release/version of the database.
The patch sets contain bug fixes and do change the release/version of the database.
As with all patches you should test them on a test database before deploying in production. If you have vendor supported applications you should contact your vendor before applying any patchsets.
