My version of Premiere Pro (CS3) does not do MP4 renders in an AVI container.
Is there a plugin available that will allow me to do good quality MP4 files?

There might be something there that is at least similar to the app your looking for.
edit: There is one shareware that is an iTunes plugin called Multi-tunes. With it you can create multiple iTunes libraries, one library called "Main" one called "Bootlegs" etc, and Multi-Tunes will allow you to quickly switch between them from within the iTunes window. Not exactly what your looking for but close.

Looking for app that will allow me to control my iphone from my desktop. I would like to be able to send text messages, etc from my computer instead of using my iphone. I don't want to jailbreak my phone. Does anyone know of app like this?

Windows or Mac? You can at least send iMessages from a Mac with Mountain Lion installed.
There are apps that let you do the reverse (control the computer from the phone). I don't know of any that let you go the other way. It would be kind of cool if we could do this though. But, I suppose it could open up a Pandora's box of security problems for the phone itself. Just imagine somebody hacking into your phone remotely and using it without your permission....

There seems to be a problem, just now, with the USB 3 ports on the new MBP's supporting eternal USB 3 drives. Some people have no luck at all - can't even recognize the drive - and some are reporting USB 2 speeds (those who drives are recognized). I'd call a dealer such as LaCie or OWC to see if they have USB 3 drives that actually work with MBP's with USB 3 ports. You may have to wait for a software/firmware update.

Will there be an update in Pages for ipad that will allow for sub scripts and superscripts

I am a chemistry professor who loves to work on the ipad. The problem I have is that the mathematics I use and chemical equations is use in my writings need both super scripts and subscripts. I would love to use my ipad for this, but presently, the only way I can do this is with a third party app that allows me to create the formulas and the paste them in the document I am working on. Will there be an update to Pages for ipad that will allow subscripts and super scripts. I would love to move away from my Office 2010, but the support is not there yet.

While you're looking for someone who can, you may want to try searching the forums for the many other threads that give tips on extending your battery life (things like turning off Background Refresh). You may also want to look at battery cases such as those made by Mophie.

Yes, a 13" non-Air model requires a minimum of 60 watts, so you will be fine. If it is a 2011 or earlier model, the connector is the regular MagSafe, whereas this year's models use the MagSafe 2 that is different.

Do you know any plugin for iTunes that permits to read the epub books of the library? Or do you know if this function is gonn be implemented in iTunes?
It's not so extrange, because iTunes is able to play the music, videos and films that we have in the library, why not reading them with iTunes?
Of course it wouldn't be so comfortable as to read them in my iPad, but it's not its purpose: it's only so you can take a sneak peek into several books in order to choose which one to send to the iPad to read next Weekend.
Is this posible?

I don't know of any plug in that enables you to use itunes as a reader but you can use calibre which is shareware and that has a reader that would enable you to read on your computer by opening an ebook with the application.
Alternatively, and perhaps simpler, is to go to amazon and read reviews and synopses of books you are interested in.

I do not want to update to FireFox version 6.0.2 because the Realplayer Plugin for downloading videos will be disabled, can you make it so that it will not be disabled. It has been like this since 4.0.1 has came out

Well thank you for your honesty. Apple requires you have to have a Mac to develop iPhone apps, ergo my foray into OS-Xland. No way around it that one except for running OSX in a VM, which would have probably saved me some quid, true enough.
BUT for those interested parties: VirtualBox has a startup script in /Library/StartupItems/VirtualBox that will prevent OSX from fully booting on the initial (and required) rEFIt boot cycle. Once I temporarily moved that out of the StartupItems rEFIt went in as expected.
FYI, the openSUSE desktop running native is a little peppier than OSX native which was a nice surprise. Now if the Mac just had more open source software we would have a deal. (:

I'm producing labels for museum gallery objects. We are printing them on adhesive vinyl with peel off back (i'm not sure what the correct term is at the moment). We pay for the labels by the sheet. It costs the same whether I get 2 or 6 labels on an 8.5 x 11 sheet. We get anywhere from 10 to 200+ of these labels print at a time so you can imagine it can be a challenging puzzle to maximize the use of space in order to minimize the wasted space on each sheet. It is essentially the same issue that people using laser cutters or CNC routers run into. The material is too expensive to let any real estate go unused unless necessary.
Is anyone aware of a plugin or script that can process a document and move text boxes or objects around to the most economical arrangement possible? I could also produce these labels in Illustrator if this issue cannot be addressed within InDesign.

Well it look like Brandon lost interest when I mention the word "quote".
Either way the basic algorithm is as below. (lines 19 to 34 - the rest is just for decoration).
I might put out a script on my site whenever it comes into existence that would do what Brandon is looking for, it would cost but not too much.
This only works for fitting heights it will not make use of the horizontal spacing.
To solve that it might be good to use what's know as the Hungarian Algorithm. I don't have time for that to put it mildly.
