A possible fix for the non-installing applications on the iPod touch

Here's what martinlondon posted in another thread...it worked for me! Turn ON the auto sync in your music tab, and the applications seem to load! You might lose your manually managed music on the iPod, but I didn't as it wouldn't sync up my music as there was too much in my library to FIT on my 8 GB iPod touch...

A hint for anyone with this problem: I found a comment on a thread at theregister.co.uk suggesting that the problem was that you need to have automatic sync turned on to enable the new applications; manually managing your music doesn't work. I'm guessing a lot of people manually manage as their music collection is bigger than their Touch, including me...
If you switch it on and sync, the new apps install like a charm. The downside is you lose all of your painstakingly manually copied music/movies on the iPod, so you have to switch back to manual syncing and copy them all across again. But this is a way to get it installed.
I happened to be on the phone to the support team earlier today (Touch support is handled through the same team as desktop support apparently, and I had a Leopard upgrade issue) and they didn't know the cause or solution.
Have to say that Apple's QA department don't seem to have covered themselves with glory here...

manual syncing was never checked for me, so 'autosyncing' didn't fix the problem. I wish it did.

Well, I recently checked apple.com, and the "pre-order" button has been replaced with the "buy now" button. This is a very good sign that the iPods will begin to ship soon! There is still no exact date, but I expect that they will ship within the next 3 days. You should get an email when they have shipped.

Looking for a leather case for the ipod Touch 4G

I'm looking for a real *GENUINE LEATHER* case for the iPod Touch 4G, preferably one that has a belt clip.
I just wasted $34 on the new Belkin "genuine leather case with belt clip" only to find out it smelled like rubber and felt nothing like what real leather would feel/smell like. Totally disappointed in Belkin advertising their cases as genuine leather when in fact they are made of cheap synthetic leather.

You can right click your video file, go to "Get Info", and select the Video tab and change the file type to Movie, TV Show, or Music Video, and then once that video is synced to the iPod it will be sorted into the proper location.
You can also create playlists of your video content. That would be the easiest/best way to get your genre classification system going.

You didn't need MobileMe for your iPhone either, per se. What was it about the service that caused you to sign up? Was it the "Find My iPhone" service? If so, that would still be perhaps useful for the iPod touch, though since the iPod has no GPS locations may be less accurate.

All the iOS devices compatible (iPhone 4 and later, iPad 2 and later, and 5G iPod touch) with iOS 7 have at least 512 MB of memory (RAM). The 4G iPod only has 256 MB

All have worked without any special configuration for the ipt.
Actually, I don't really think their is a better router, every network I have connected to worked, absolutly no trouble at all.

I have an 32gb iPod touch 4th Generation. My Aunt owns an iPhone 4s with siri. I would enjoy having siri on my itouch and I heard that you can get it if you jailbreak your ipod. Is this true? And finally, will siri be available for the iPod touch?

If I am correct, I read it on Apples website. I believe this is the article of which we are talking about. Now that I pick through it more, I understand that when it comes to Siri, the iPod touch isn't even mentioned.

Thanks for your prompt response, however I have first seen it now. I have placed an active SIM card in the iPhone turned it off and on. It now says SIM locked, please write access code. The problem is I don't remember the password. When I connect it to iTunes it tell me that I have to write the password before it can be used with iTunes...... Do you have any good ideas? Well.. Me and one of my good friends both have iPod Touch 4th gen 32gb's and my friend read on the Technobuffalo website that IOS 5.1 was suppose to come with Siri for the iPod touch and probably the iPad and I updated my iPod 4th gen to IOS 5.1 and it still doesn't have Siri !
