A problem downloading movie

i am having a problem downloading movie that was filmed with a JVC camera in hdv format 720p 50fps.
the movie was filmed on a tape, not directly to hard disk, and it is not being recognized on my dsr-15 machine.

I have NOT used it, but many say to try this for HDV capture http://strony.aster.pl/paviko/hdvsplit.htm
Also... downloading is from the internet to your computer, so I thought that was your problem, from your title

  • Problems downloading movies since upgrading to mavericks

Ever since upgrading to mavericks when it was first released, I have had nothing but problems downloading movies in iTunes. What normally would take no more than 30 minutes to download a movie and iTunes extras has now turned into waiting more than 3 hours with no less than 4 error messages saying iTunes cannot download the movie and I have to relaunch iTunes or reboot my entire system. It is getting quite annoying and I can't seem to find a solution.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
    Thank you in advance.

I upgraded to Mavericks on two computers and have display problems too! I have CC on one Macbook Pro (2011) and CS6 on another (2012) and I'm now almost positive my display problems are triggered by InDesign. I don't have to be doing anything special, and I don't have to be working in InDesign at the time, but InDesign has to be open and I get things like this:
Once it turns magenta or green, that's when I have to boot the system. I can still work with the glitchy display before it turns colors and if I'm still able to quit InDesign while it's glitching, the display goes back to normal. Same on both computers and the 2011 one has a new logic board in it.
At first I thought it had something to do with connecting my hard drive or my external display, but the display issues happened with both computers with nothing hooked up. Those are ruled out now. I took my 2012 computer to Apple and they told me it was a software issue and all my hardware is ok. Obviously they didn't fix the software issue because it's still happening.
This is not normal and needs to be fixed soon!

  • ITunes 7.0.1(7):  Problems Downloading Movies from iTunes Store

Prior to installing the iTunes 7.0.1(7) upgrade, I had no problems downloading movies from the iTunes store. After I noticed that there appeared to be rate-limiting on the inital movie that I purchased, I simultaneously downloaded three other movies and watched one of the movies while they were downloading.
No problems with downloading multiple movies but severe problems with using iTunes 7.0.0 as a viewer. An inadvertent movement or click of the mouse resulted in the video portion of the movie disappearing. To solve the problem, I created symlinks in the QuickTime Player's ~/Movies directory to the downloaded movies. Using QuickTime as a viewer was a significant improvement over iTunes.
Upgraded to iTunes 7.0.1(7) when it was released. Today I discovered that the release has significant problems downloading movies.
After the initial download of the movie to /private/tmp, the iTunes download panel displays a message stating that it is processing the file. One would assume that it is inserting the chapter bookmarks and transferring it to the ~Music/iTunes/iTunes Music/Movies directory.
Not so. Its downloading the movie a second time. The processing file message is displayed a second time followed by a pop-up window reprting that the file is corrupt with an error code of 10008. Looks like one of Window's infamous network error codes. Wonder what it's doing on a Mac?
Enough of my diatribe. Are others seeing this? Do you have a "work around" or solution to the problem?
    PowerBook 17, PowerMac G5   Mac OS X (10.4.8)   iTunes 7.0.1(7)

I did run Disk Utility after reporting my problems here and to the iTunes Store. The "Check Permissions" scan found two iTunes with the incorrect permissions. As the permissions were correct prior to the upgrade, I presume the executable permission flags were turned on during the upgrade. Repaired the permission problems.
Also, I performed a reboot as was mentioned in a discussion of a slightly different problem. I was able to download one of the movies. The second failed about half-way through the download with a 9006 error.

  • Problems downloading movie rentals to my ipad3

Just rented two movies from iTunes, one began to download to my ipad and then stopped. Error message 'cannot download movie at this time'.  Any suggestions?  Should I have downloaded them to my computer first and then to my ipad?  Can I cancel the rentals, don't want to pay for them if I can't download.

All things being equal - there is no reason why you should not be able to download the rentals right to the iPad. But things like an interruption in the Internet connection - a hiccough in the connection - could pause the download or cause a problem. You can try to resume the download, or see if you can download the rentals on your computer and then move them to the iPad.
You could try restarting or rebooting the iPad and see of the downloads will resume. You can try signing out of your ID, restart the iPad and sign in again and then try to resume the downloads.
Once you tap on Rent or Install or Buy - the iTunes cash register rings up the purchase so that's a done deal now. You can't cancel it. You can contact iTunes support if the movies will not download and they should be able to get you through it - one way or the other.
    If you need it ....

  • Problems downloading movies on iPad?

I am having problems downloading video to my iPad from the iTunes store directly on the device, not from my computer. Every time I tap buy or rent, a message shows up saying I don't have enough storage space. I have a 16gb Wifi version and about 2gb free on it. So I have enough space. Anything like this happens to anybody else?

Sorry but I think your information might be off a little bit. I have no idea what movies you are looking at - but the first 8 movies - the new releases - that I looked at in iTunes all exceed 1.5 GB in the SD version. I have one movie on my iPad that is almost 2GB.
I think that 700 MG would be the exception.

  • Why problem downloading movie from itunes?

Purchased movie from itunes, downloading started, showed as processing but it's been like that all day. Tried to cancel download and everything froze. It has happened before.

  • Problem Downloading Movies on apple tv

I having a problem with downloading movies I just rent from itunes. The apple tv is saying it will take 4 hours to download one movie. I am thinking returning the apple tv. Let me know if anybody else is having the same problem this evening 12/11/10.

    wnsheather wrote:
I am having the exact same issue. I will not be using my AppleTV to rent at all anymore. I am very pleased with the netflix streaming so I will use it only for that. I am on my 5th hour of waiting for a 30 minute show to download. As an experiment I downloaded the same show on my laptop. It used the same Wifi connection in my house. Laptop was 6 minutes. This is horrible.
That's because your Apple Tv gets interference. Try changing your router channel or move the Apple Tv a bit.

  • There was a problem downloading [Movie Title]. An unknown error occurred. (-50)

Just got LOTR: Trilogy Extended Editions on Bluray for Christmas and went to redeem the Digital Copies in the iTunes store. Codes worked fine, they have been successfully redeemed.
Only problem is the movies will not physically download to my harddrive and I get this error.
I have done the recommendations and step-by-step guides on this page: http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1583 many many times but to no avail.
I've heard that sometimes Digital Copies require you to have the DVD or Bluray in your DVD or Bluray drive before they will download but if this is the case I haven't once been prompted to insert any such disc.

  • Ipod touch is having problems downloading movies

whenever i try to download a movie, it will download till it is almost done, and then it will say "download error. Tap to retry" i will "tap" it and then it will process a little and say it again. i purchased them on my ipod with a gift card. and i am going away today, so i purchased them last night for the flight. i try to transfer them to itunes but it doesn't work. please help!

Hey Silverdemon, sounds like a short, most likely in the headphones. Try a different set of headphones with this iPod or try the headphones with a different device. If the problem stops with your iPod or it moves to another device, then replace the headphones. If within 1 year of date of purchase Apple will replace the headphones for  free if problem is a defect, not abuse. If the problem continues with a different set of headphones, check the port for damage and foreign debris. If you note debris, attempt to remove it, if damage noted contact Apple and set up an appointment to have it evaluated. if nothing appears wrong, try plugging / unplugging to jack about 12 times maybe corrosion on the contacts if so that should clean it. Next thing to try reset your iPod. After that try restore from backup. Last resort, restore to new. Just make sure you make a full backup to your computer before you restore so no data is lost. If nothing works, contact Apple and set up an appointment to have your iPod evaluated. Good luck, Cheers.

  • Problem downloading movies

Rented movie but is not downloading wifi is good and all works good ,movie is not starting

Try with the basic troubleshooting steps and work your way through. Try these first.
Quit iTunes completely and restart the iPad. Go to the home screen first by tapping the home button. Double tap the home button and the task bar will appear with all of your recent/open apps displayed at the bottom. Tap and hold down on any app icon until it begins to wiggle. Tap the minus sign in the upper left corner of the app that you want to close. Tap the home button or anywhere above the task bar. Restart the iPad.
Restart the iPad by holding down on the sleep button until the red slider appears and then slide to shut off. To power up hold the sleep button until the Apple logo appears and let go of the button.
If that doesn't work, try this ....Reset the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons.

  • Problem downloading movie onto ipod

I do not want to download a movie onto my computer then sync to my ipod. I want to download it directly onto my iPod. Is this possible? My experience is exactly the same as the following that was posted in December:
"My new Ipod Touch will not finish downloading a movie I purchased. I keep getting the phrase "Download error. tap to retry" and it goes thru the same thing over and over again. I am at the point that i want to delete the file, but can't find it on the Ipod to delete it, it doesnt show up in movies. Help, there is 3 gigs of memory tied up in this. "
I have exchanged emails with someone at apple and have searched discussions, but don't see any help in bypassing the computer.

Yes, that, and I didn't want it taking up space on the desktop.
I gave up and downloaded it onto the computer. However, now that I'm trying to sync it onto the iPod, there is not sufficient memory. It appears that 3.4 gb is taken up by "other", I assume as a result of my trying to download the movie.
How do I get rid of this "other" that doesn't tie to anything that actually exists on the iPod??
