A Product of the Latest Camera RAW?

Suddenly noticed a slight difference in the description of one of my lens.  Tracked it down to whether the photo was imported before or after installation of RAW 3.8, which was 9/7/11.
Before 9/7, the description is Tamron SP AF 28-75mm f/2.8 XR Di LD Aspherical (IF) Macro.  After 9/7 it is Tamron SP AF 28-75mm f/2.8 XR Di LD Aspherical (IF) Macro (A09NII).  The added term is a descriptor seen whenever looking it up on the internet, say, but it has not been part of the lens info seen in Aperture.
Don't know what other difference might be derived, and can't say that this causes any change.  I have not as yet reprocessed any masters for images where this lens was used that were uploaded prior to 9/7.

You can purchase an upgrade, but the only options available as a qualifying previous product are CS5 and CS5 Extended and Acrobat X Suite.  It isn't entirely clear if CS5 also includes CS5.1 or not, so I'd suggest using the Chat Now button over at the side to clarify.
To get to this listing, you can go to www.adobe.com then click Search and type in Photoshop CS6 then click the Buy button next to Photoshop CS6 in the results Creative Suite 6 then edit your cart to make it an upgrade:
You can also choose the Extended version of PS CS6 which is more money and can additionally do things with video and sequences of images and maybe 3D, although I'm not exactly sure at this point since I already have PS-CS6 Extended as part of my CC Photography Plan PS-CC+LR for $10/month.

  • Can't download the latest Camera Raw 5.3 in CS4

I've just upgraded from Elements 5.0 to CS4 (with RAW 5.0) and can only open Nikon D80 RAW files.  I can't open Lumix LX3 RAW files.  I tried to download the latest Camera RAW 5.3 by clicking in the Help Menu and choosing "Update".  I get the message "the Installation process as encountered a problem".  I then have a choice of choosing; "run update again", "stop installation", or "cancel".  I'm also getting this error message with "Adobe Extension Manager CS4 2.1" update.  I can't work out if there's a problem with the "Extension Manager", the RAW update, or the "Installation Manager" - if that's what it's called.
I looked in C:\program files\common files\Adobe\Plug-Ins\CS4\File Formats, and can see "Camera RAW.8bi.  I'm sure that is the same name as the RAW Plug-In in Elements 5.  Am I having this problem because Elements 5 is on the same Drive, or is there a problem with CS4?  To add insult to inury, I have encountered a few other problems, listed below:-
I can't delete a layer by dragging it to the Bin.  I have to right click on it and choose "delete layer"
When I make a Levels Adjustment Layer, there is no "OK" button to click on, to make the dialogue box disappear.  That wouldn't matter too much, but I don't know how to "cancel" an amendment as I used to do, by pressing Alt key and clicking on "Cancel" to restore the changes.  How do I do this in CS4?
I'd prefer all the Windows to Float, so I can move them around.  I can't see how to make this a preference.  I have to click on the "Window" menu and make the changes for every document. Otherwise, the picture fills the whole screen.
I made some brushes in Elements 5 - mainly a signature brush.  How would Iike to copy this brush to CS4?  I can see a "Brush Presets" folder, but not individual brushes in either package.
Lastly, I'd like to load CS4 on my laptop, if that's allowed.  I don't often connect to the Internet with my laptop for security reasons.  Do I need to be connected to load it onto the Laptop.
I bought CS4 from Adobe, and was hoping there wouldn't be a problem with the software.  Upgrading from Elements 5 has been a cultural shock, so I hope I don't sound too "dim".  I've watched lots of DVDs about CS3 and CS4, but still feel quite swamped with the new features.
I'd be grateful for any help with the above questions.

For floating windows, uncheck the relevant boxes in Edit > Preferences > Interface. And play with the Arrange documents drop-down in the top bar. Also see http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/405/kb405298.html
Save the brushes as an .abr file in a known location on your hard drive and load them from there into CS4.
You are allowed an extra installation on a laptop but you'll need an internet connection to activate it (or use the telphone number provided).
    And finally ...

How do I get the latest camera raw for Lightroom 4.2?

You simply run the updater. if there is a newer version, it will be installed. Other than that 4.2 is the latest release version, 4.3 is currently in the final testing stages and can be downloaded from the Adobe Labs pages.

I downloaded the latest camera raw version, 8.2, but my DNG convetor still only reflects 7.1, why won't my DNG convetor update to 8.2?

dng converter and cr are two different programs.
while they both do the same thing, the dng converter is a stand-alone app that does not install into another adobe program and cr installs into another adobe app like photoshop, lightroom etc.
and the latest version (as of 6/25/14) is cr 8.5.
download the dng converter is you have an app that's to old to accept cr 8.2 (or cr 8.5).

Every since I updated to the latest Camera Raw and Photoshop I have the following issue: when I finish the photo in Raw and bring it into Photoshop I have white squares in the Photo. If I crop the photo the white square disappears until I zoom to enlarge it then the white square reappears. I do not believe the squares are saved

Does turning off »Use Graphics Processor« in the Performance Preferences and restarting Photoshop have any bearing on the issue?

  • What is the latest camera raw update for CS5?

I'd like to know the latest camera raw update for CS5 to support Sony a6000 raw files. I'd also need to know how to update the plugin.

The last version of Camera Raw that you can use with Photoshop CS5 is Camera Raw 6.7. To have support for your camera you would need Camera Raw 8.4 or newer. You have a few choices:
    1. Use DNG converter 8.4 or newer to create DNG copies of your raw files and edit those in Photoshop CS5.
    2. Subscribe to the creative cloud photography plan and to get the latest Photoshop and Lightroom.
    3. Add Lightroom to your workflow by purchasing a standalone license for Lightroom 5.

  • How can I install the latest Camera Raw?  I've just bought a Nikon D610 and am shooting in RAW but my CS5.1 won't open the files.  I'm running CR version 6.7.0.339 but I can't install more up to date one as only running Windows Vista.  Please help!

I also tried to install the latest DNG converter and that looks to have worked but not quite sure what's happened as I still can't open the files.  Thanks in advance for any help.

  • I am using Lightroom 4.4,  I recently downloaded the latest Camera Raw update, 8.8.  Will it work with LR 4.4?

I recently downloaded the most recent Camera Raw update, 8.8.  Will it work with LR 4.4?  My current Camera Raw plug-in does not recognize my new Canon 100-400mm lens.

Quote "I have downloaded the most recent DNG converter. I guess I was mistaken in thinking I could use this as a plug-in with LR.  If I understand correctly, I need to convert image files taken with the new lens with the DNG converter and then load them in LR 4 in order to use the Lens Correction feature in LR.  Does that sound correct?"
No, as far as I am aware the only function that the DNG Converter performs is to convert the raw files from a supported digital camera model to a DNG file format.
This will allow you to work with the DNG files in earlier versions of Lightroom or Adobe Camera Raw that do not provide support for the particular camera model raw files. It has nothing to do with Lens profiles.

  • Camera raw won't open my raw files from bridge.  Mac user, camera, Nikon D800, latest camera raw update is installed.  Help!!

I don't get a photo preview in bridge of my raw files, just the NEF file thing.  Then when I click to open them I get a message that says:  "If you are attempting to open a raw file from a digital camera, make sure you have the latest Camera Raw update installed via Help > Updates"   "If the problem persists, visit the following link for more information: http://www.adobe.com/go/kb407111".  I can't seem to figure out what to do!  Help Please!?

Usually the problem with a newer Nikon camera is that the NEF files have been transferred or viewed with obsolete Nikon software, like Nikon Transfer for View NX, and those change something in the header of the raw file that makes it unrecognizable to Adobe products.
For new images, the solution is to either stop using Nikon products to transfer and view your files or update your Nikon products to be as new as your camera.
There is a utility to fix this particular corruption here:

  • Downloaded, unzipped, installed latest Camera Raw, but still cannot view D300 NEF files

    Hello,
I have CS3 running on a 32-bit Windows Vista computer. I downloaded the latest Camera Raw plug-in, unzipped it, and installed it, but I still cannot view my Nikon D300 NEF files. I have made sure that I only have the one plug-in mentioned. I went to CS3 Bridge and made sure that Raw is enabled in Preferences. Anyone got any ideas?
BTW, don't know if it matters, but I use Irfanview as my regular picture viewer.
    Thanks,
    John

    John,
Please excuse my inexperience, but I, too, am having a difficult time with this issue.  I am trying to view RAW images on CS3 from a D300 Nikon camera.  My D70 images are fine in CS3, but not the D300 images.  I have downloaded and downloaded ACR 4.6 and made sure it is in the path you suggested, but I am getting the same message, "file is not the correct type."  I have Windows 7 on a HP desktop computer.  I am also receiving an error message when I open Bridge, which tells me, more or less, that Bridge is not compatible with the OS on the HP.  Don't know what else to do...

  • Download of latest Camera Raw to support Panasonic Lumix GX7 raw files

I have downloaded the latest Camera Raw version for my Photoshop CS 5.1 as I have bought a new camera, Panasonic Lumix GX7.  Camera Raw still does not read these files in spite of the fact that the camera list shows that this camera is supported.  Please help.

According to Adobe’s list, you need at least ACR 8.2 to process GX7 raw files:
    http://helpx.adobe.com/creative-suite/kb/camera-raw-plug-supported-cameras.html
According to this other list, you need at least CS6 to update to ACR 8.2:
    http://helpx.adobe.com/x-productkb/global/camera-raw-compatible-applications.html
So you either need to upgrade to PS-CS6 or sign-up for a cloud subscription, or download the latest DNG Converter that works with whatever OS version you have, from here:

  • Latest Camera Raw 2.3 + Aperture 2.1.2 + Nikon D300 = broken import?

After installing the latest camera raw update to version 2.3, it seems I can no longer import raw files from my Nikon D300 into Aperture when the D300 is set for USB Mass Storage, which I always used. When trying to do so, the first sign that something is wrong is the "Import" button in the Import dialog that doesn't show the number of selected pictures. It always show "Import All". Then, if I select all pictures or some of them, the Import dialog disappears as usual but then the completed import dialog appears immediately and says that 0 pictures have been imported. When checking the project where I wanted to import, there are indeed no pictures.
I then tried to import in iPhoto and it worked just fine. I reverted to Camera Raw Update 2.1, and had no problem.
I was able to import from the D300 when I set its USB connection to be MTP/PTP but no thumbnails appear in the import dialog, no matter if I shot RAW or RAW+JPEG.
    So, anybody else noticed that?

Hmm... well, why would I want to buy a separate card reader, pull the card from my D300, put it in the reader, get it read, put it out of the reader and put it back in the D300?
typically photographers carry and shoot with multiple cards and then use card readers to get the photos into aperture
Because Apple screwed up their latest raw bundle? I'd rather not take the card out of my D300.
So, no, I haven't tried an external card reader and don't intend to buy one either.
that's your choice, we're just trying to help u out.
a fw800 card reader will be much faster importing than the camera,
if the camera settings changed at least you'll be able to get your photos into aperture.
btw, i have the same camera as you d300 and i've imported well over 100,000 photos (in the last week) since the last update, without a hitch (Camera Raw 2.3 + Aperture 2.1.2 + Nikon D300)
