I'm gonna buy a Satellite P755-S5391 and don't know if my SSD device works in it, please tell me if the Laptop supports SATA 3, thanks all that take some time to reply this ...
NOTE:
Excuse me for my english, I'm a non english speaker, but I do what I can XD.

I have a P755-12F with [Intel HM65 Express Chipset|http://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/chipsets/value-chipsets/mobile-chipset-hm65.html].
It's written "Serial ATA (SATA) 6 Gb/s and 3 Gb/s", so this should meen that it supports Sata III (6 gb/s).
I think that you have the same chipset

  • Some questions about Unity 4.0 and IPC

I have a couple of questions and I was looking for "real world" answers, not specific answers from the design guide.
1.What is this bandwidth requirement between Exchange and Unity and what is it used for?
    2. What sort of issues would we experience if we placed the Unity UM Server at the Colo and placed the Exchange server at the customer premise; with a single T1 between the sites?
3.What else is involved with a Unity UM install vs. a Unity VM install?
4.Does the Unity UM and Exchange servers have to be running AD?
    5. Can Unity or the Exchange box be the Domain Controller? Or does it need to be a separate server?
    6. Where does a vm message get streamed from? The Unity server or the Exchange server?

No you do not pay for FaceTime. It uses your WiFi network, so if you have access to WiFi it is free.
There is no server required for FaceTime, it will use a direct device to device protocol.
I can't answer the question about using phones in different countries as that will depend on if you buy a phone that is locked to a carrier.
If you buy a phone in Germany and it is locked to a German phone network then it will most likely not work with a SIM from Turkey. You would need to buy an unlocked phone which are very expensive as they do not have any carrier subsidy applied to the price.

  • Question about using 10g/11g and APEX ...

    Hi,
I just recently learned of Oracle's APEX and have a few questions about using it.
Can I use APEX with express, standard, and enterprise editions of 10g and 11g?
Are all of these free to use?

You might want to read about APEX rather than jumping into questions that are reasonably well documented. Info at http://www.oracle.com/technology/products/database/application_express/index.html
    Your specific questions:
    1) Apex is a package that can be installed into any properly licensed database.
    2) The price for the production license of the database varies by edition.
The price for Express Edition is $0 for use in production. Part of the cost for that edition is 'no Oracle Support based support, no patches, data volume limitation, etc.'

  • Questions about JVC GZ HD7 and Final Cut

i'm planning to buy a JVC GZ HD7, but i have some questions about it...
    My imac configuration is
    Imac 20" late 2006
    1 Gb Ram
    Leopard 10.5.2
    Final Cut Studio 2
    Ok
    So my questions are:
1- When shooting the best setting for me is the 1440cbr, or 1920x1080
is better? i would like to have progressive instead of interlaced
moviefiles, but for what i have read the JVC HD7 only shoots interlaced...is possible to turn them into progressive after working in final cut?
2- In Final Cut Pro what are the sequence settings and the video
settings for a video shoot from this camera?
I would like to know the best settings possible for me,
regarding that i would like to edit in real time, no rendering needed,
and to have the best image quality that this camera can offer...

FCE is designed to work with DV/HDV files. It cannot work natively with MPEG2 files. You will need something like MPEG Streamclip to convert your files to a format that FCE understands
Streamclip is free but you need to buy Apple's MPEG Playback Component to make it work

  • Techie Question about iWeb, outbound links, and Google Analytics

    Hi,
I have a kind of pretty technical question about using Google Analytics (GA) with iWeb sites to measure clicks on outbound links. Here's the setup:
    1) My website's online, and GA is working properly.
    2) I don't sell stuff directly, but I do have a "Purchase" page which contains a link to a specific Amazon page.
    3) I'm pretty sure I can measure how many people go to the Purchase page using GA, but how do I measure whether visitors click on the Amazon link? It would be interesting to me to be able to gauge what the conversion rate is; that is, how many people actually proceed to purchase the product at Amazon.
I've checked the GA instructions and there's a page about manually tracking clicks on outbound links but it requires some code inputting. I know zero about coding, but I'm pretty sure that in iWeb you can't get access to the source code to input the required code.
Am I wrong about this? And if I am, then does anyone here know how to measure the clickthrough rate?
Anyway, hope you can help. Thanks in advance.

I don't know about the link tracking but you could have the link take you to a redirect page which automatically sends them to Amazon.com after a preset time, 0 seconds to whatever you'd like. You can put a counter on that redirect page, like StatCounter. StatCounter can tell you how many, from where they came, i.e country and area, repeat visits, etc.
Tutorials #12 & #13 describe how to put a visible counter on a page but with a redirect page you wouldn't have to bother since it wouldn't be seen. You can get all of your information from your account on the StatCounter site.
The redirect page would be a simple plain text page titled redirect.html and would look like this:
    <!DOCTYPE HTML PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD HTML 4.01 Transitional//EN"
    <html>
    <head>
    <meta http-equiv="refresh"
    content="0; Destination URL">
<title>Redirecting or whatever you'd like to appear at the top of the browser</title>
    </head>
    <body>
    </body>
    </html>
0 Is the number of seconds to wait before redirecting the visitor. If set to zero the visitor would not know they were being redirected. Replace Destination URL with the Amazon URL you want them to go to.

  • I just have questions about the AirPort Express and how it works.

My household Wi-Fi is not the strongest in  my room and I found out about the AirPort Express and I read the overvie, but I still have some questions on how it works, how its setup and other questions as well.

The AirPort Express will not wirelessly extend the signal from another router unless that router is also an Apple product.
Not sure what other questions you might have, but we'll try to answer if you want to ask.

  • Question about suitability of iPhone and specific comparisons

I like the Verizon network (for which I'm considering upgrading to the Omnia II) but am thinking about biting the bullet and going to AT&T for the iPhone. I use Macs at home and at work. My main uses will be phonecalls (with reliable voice dialing from my car - bluetooth stereo and earpiece), mail (Exchange server access for calendar, mail, and addressbook), internet through the cellphone network (not wifi) - browsing, SFTP, VNC, etc., watching videos, photos, and listening to music, calendar reminders (as well as periodic sound reminders for missed calls, voicemails, etc.), opening PDF and Word documents, GPS (ideally with spoken driving directions),and Skype. Given these uses, can anyone advise me if there's anything here that is a problem for the iPhone?
    thanks,
    Mike

    "VNC"
There are pretty nice VNC clients for the platform, the best being Jaadu VNC. (See my just-published "Everything you will ever want to know about the remote desktop controllers on the iPhone" for more info if interested; it's been cross-posted to several iPhone forums. Not this one - yet - as I still don't have Level 1.)
    watching videos
The 3G S (but not the 3G!) is far better than current for example Windows Mobile or Symbian phones in that it can play back MPEG-4 / H.264 videos without excessive power consumption. That is, if all your videos are in this format, the 3G S is the way to go.
Nevertheless, if your videos are in DivX, XviD or - even worse - WMV, you won't be able to natively play them back - you'll need to transcode them first.
This, unfortunately, also means WMV streaming TV stations are far harder to watch than on, say, Windows Mobile. The only AppStore app ("Streamer") supporting them is really bad and delivers dismal performance, even on the 3G S.

  • Question about Think Station D30 and adding SSDs

Hello. I am thinking about purchasing a Think Station D30. In my current workstation, I have two SSDs that I would like to continue using. Is it possible to add these SSDs to the D30. If so, would they be easy to install or would have a lot of configuration changes to make? Would I have to get an adapter for them?
    Thank you for the information.
    Solved!

I really appreciate the information. It has helped me out and I will be getting that D30 now.

  • Question about MSI Z87 boards and NVMe PCI-E SSDs

With the release of the Intel SSD 750 PCI-E SSD and more NVMe SSDs no doubt to follow, will the older motherboards like the Z87 series get updates so that they can boot with NVMe SSDs?
All of the Z97 and X99 boards already have compatibility:
    http://www.msi.com/news/1949.html
What about older chipsets like Z87, Z77? Z87 in particular is very similar to Z97, so I'd imagine it'd be the most likely candidate.

    Yeah I did.

Did anyone get an answer from MSI.
MSI is there going to be a BIOS release to support the ability to boot off of nvme PCIe cards for the M87 boards?
MSI Tech.   05/14/2015   We unfortunately do not have any information regarding any future support for these series boards and supporting NVMe, you , you may continue to visit our news section for updates as they become available. http://us.msi.com/news/
I think is possible though - that and it's likely these boards may support Broadwell as well.

  • Question about Photoshop scratch disk and specific setup

    Hi Folks
Thanks for the help in advance.
I'm a novice and need help finding a solution to a new PC Build. (Windows 7 Pro 64bit with Photoshop CS6)
I only recently found out about having a scratch disk dedicated for photoshop (very novice i know ), and was wondering if a 120-128GB SSD would be enough? (Please bear in mind I can't fit large SSD raid configs to my budget, plus I live in New Zealand, so prices are higher for SSD at the moment).
I only edit single camera RAW files at a time around 25mb per file, with no large amount of layers and very rarely do large images i.e. Panorama etc.  I have searched the forums but could not find a concrete answer.
My setup was originally meant for a HTPC (I don't intend to overclock), but I will also be using it for light photography projects. Specs below:
    CPU: Intel i7 3770
Mobo: Asrock B75 Pro3-M (or Asus P8H77m Pro, depending on budget)
16gb Ram (maybe bump up to 32gb later)
120-128gb SSD for OS and apps
    120-128gb SSD scratch disk
    2 TB HDD for storage
If anyone knows, the motherboards I've listed have 3x Sata3 ports, Asrock has one Intel chip and two Asmedia controlled Sata3 ports, while Asus has 2x Intel controlled and 1x Marvell controlled Sata3 port.  If I went with the Asrock, would it be okay to connect the OS/Apps SSD to the intel controlled sata3 port and have the scratch disk and storage HDD to the Asmedia sata3 ports?
And one more novice question, when I begin to edit my images, is it best to transfer my photos from memory card to storage HDD then work from there? Or would it be quicker opening images direct from a USB 3.0 card reader / USB 3.0 external hard drive?
Thanks again everyone, really appreciate it

Just to clarify, if/when I get one 256gb SSD for my main C: drive, I can load the OS/Apps and store some data for the time being (until I get another SSD) and use the 2TB HDD for scratch disk only?
Yes, that's what I meant.  You could try putting Photoshop scratch on C: at least temporarily, and watch your free space carefully.  If you don't work on big documents or set your history states to be very large, it might be workable.  But be careful.  The safe "set it and forget it" configuration is to make your HDD the one and only Photoshop scratch drive.
When I do get around to getting the second 256gb, I will look at installing the two SSD's in RAID configuration.  If i were to do this, can I load the OS/Apps to the RAID SSD's as well as using them for scratch disks and have the 2TB HDD for storage? I hope that makes sense.
Sounds about right; with 512GB on tap you should be able to run just about everything from C:, as long as you don't keep your entire photo library on there.  Realistically, on a big system that's got a lot of apps installed and has been used for some time, Windows and your apps may end up consuming 100 to 150 GB, so that would still leave you a lot of breathing room.
Keep in mind that what you describe may require 3rd party re-partitioning software and/or backup and restoral, or a complete reinstallation of Windows and everything (usually the latter is what is recommended when moving up to a RAID system volume).
By the way, SSDs stay in best working order if you overprovision - i.e., maintain a fair amount of free space.  The internal controllers need the free space to keep the data organized well and maintain top performance.

  • Few questions about Satellite A300D-14P functionality

I have model Satellite A300D-14P for one month. Warranty 2 yrs. I have few questions, and asking for help, and suggestions what I should do?
*My camera quality * is VERY poor, Only with very much light on, I can get generally ok picture quality. Indoor, beside turned on both options, night mode or backlight compensation I hardly can see my face, very dark and poor quality. Second problem is blue led light, it is annoying because half of picture is always blue, somehow that light taking half picture which is always blue:((( I used notebook model from L300 series ( cheaper than mine) with same camera and that blue light, it is working perfectly :(
*Battery life and start up Vista OS*? ??In power save mode hardly 1.5h ??? Just surfing and nothing else....I asked Toshiba support here in Serbia about that and they told me that it is normal, and measuring of battery life (2, ...h) by specifications, is when my display is off and computer don't do anything ??? They also told me that normal start up time for Vista OS is around 1.45min maybe more???
If I install win XP is it possible to get battery life longer?
Do I need to go in Toshiba service or what?
Thank you very much and sorry if I am boring :))))
    Nikola

    Hay Nikola
You are not boring at all and welcome on this forum.
    I don't know where to start. ;).
I have Satellite A300-1LI in front of me and I use it about a month now. Start-up time is very interesting theme and with right configuration you can optimise it and make it much shorter as with factory setting. Please read one very interesting thread about it under http://forums.computers.toshiba-europe.com/forums/thread.jspa?messageID=134947
Do the same with your Satellite and I hope you will be satisfied.
Battery running time? I must say that information about two hours is realistic and I can confirm it. The same on my Satellite. But to be honest for mobile computing it is OK. I have changed several notebooks and just business notebook Tecra has had linger battery running time. What you can do is to check Toshiba support site and pick up info about more powerful battery. I am not sure but you can use Battery Pack (Li-Ion, 9 Cell, 6000mAh).
About cam I cannot say much. On my Satellite it works OK and I am satisfied. OK the quality is not the same like on good external webcams but for integrated cam it is OK.
If you are not satisfied try to talk with nearest service or try to compare it with some other Satellite by your local dealer.
So Nikola, if you have more questions please post again.

  • I've got some questions about Satellite Pro L300

1.) How could I Update my Bios? I find the zip- File but no further Information how it works?
2.) I want to update for more memory. 2GB are less for fast working. Where could I find Informations about the memory controller- e.g. Voltage, Timings... for pass new memory of 4GB.
3.) My PSSD1E shows me in Windows7 - Systems Hardware one empty SATA- Controller.
Is it possible to take it optional for an outgoing connection- eg SATA-OUT for extrenal device?
    Sorry for my worst english.

Satellite Pro L300 is offered with several different hardware configurations. I dont know which one do you have and there is no sense to discuss about this without exact notebook info.
If you want to have general conversation here than dont claim about this forum.
To get some precise answers inform us about exact notebook model.
    One more time:
    1
For all new notebook models Toshiba offers Win update only. That means BIOS update can be done under running operating system. For more details check Toshiba document.
    2
What you need is just part number of compatible RAM modules. All other information is not so relevant for you. If you want to get this info post exact notebook model.
You can test what you want but fact is that Toshiba offers list of compatible RAMs you can use with your notebook. All listed RAMs are tested. Other way you can visit KINGSTON page to check their list of compatible models for different Toshiba notebook models. Kingston offers high quality products and all listed RAMs are tested too.
Who knows which RAMs you have used for your tests? Maybe some cheap no-name products. Many people have used such RAMs and at the end nothing worked.
    3
Why you complicate the whole situation? For external devices you have available ports. For internal device you have ports on the motherboard. End of the story.
And yes, visit your local dealer ant talk with him, especially about question number 3.

  • Question about full cycle charges and battery life

So I've had the new iPad since day 1 and absolutely love it, though recently I've noticed that my battery life doesn't seem to hold up as well as it has in the past. I've done three full cycle charges since getting it however during my latest one I accidently brought along my iPod wall charger and not the one that comes with the iPad. My iPad was fully discharged and I plugged it in assuming that in the 7 hour window I had that it would be fully charged within 5 hours, but this was not the case due to me having the wrong charger. After about 7 hrs of charging it was only at around 60-70% so I had to unplug it, bring it home, then plug it in once more using the correct charger. Probably a fairly obvious question but does this not count as a full cycle charge because I unplugged it? Should I perform another full cycle charge even though this most recent one was not even a week ago. I know you're supposed to completely discharge your battery as few times as possible so it worries me having to do it again so soon.
About battery life, I've noticed lately that my iPad battery seems to be depleting quicker than normal, and was hoping that perhaps this was caused by being overdue for a full-cycle charge which I may have flubbed as seen above. I'm aware of a majority of the little tips and tricks to prolong battery life however I'm not so knowledgeable on the "do's and don'ts" of charging the actual iPad so any information on that would be helpful. I should also note that unfortunately I accidently left by iPad in a hot car for a little over an hour and was tremendously devastated knowing what this can do to the battery, so could this be the main cause for a seemingly weaker battery?
    Thanks for any feedback!

The quickest way (and really the only way) to charge your iPad is with the included 10W USB Power Adapter. iPad will also charge, although more slowly, when attached to a computer with a high-power USB port (many recent Mac computers) or with an iPhone Power Adapter (5W). When attached to a computer via a standard USB port (most PCs or older Mac computers) iPad will charge very slowly (but iPad indicates not charging). Make sure your computer is on while charging iPad via USB. If iPad is connected to a computer that’s turned off or is in sleep or standby mode, the iPad battery will continue to drain.
Apple recommends that once a month you let the iPad fully discharge & then recharge to 100%.
How to Calibrate Your Mac, iPhone, or iPad Battery
    http://www.macblend.com/how-to-calibrate-your-mac-iphone-or-ipad-battery/
At this link http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/galaxy-tab-android-tablet,3014-11.html , tests show that the iPad 2 battery (25 watt-hours) will charge to 90% in 3 hours 1 minute. It will charge to 100% in 4 hours 2 minutes. The new iPad has a larger capacity battery (42 watt-hours), so using the 10W charger will obviously take longer. If you are using your iPad while charging, it will take even longer. It's best to turn your new iPad OFF and charge over night.
