A question about using regular expression

I want to search string between each pair of , tags by using Regular Expression.
For example:

If I use following method

Matcher m=Pattern.compile(regx).matcher(str);

while(currentLoc<str.length()){
 if(m.find(currentLoc))
 System.out.println(m.group(1));
 currentLoc=m.end();
}The content between first and last will be searched.
How to solve this problem?

Use a non-greedy match:
(?s)(.+?)(?s) makes the dot match the line terminator (same as setting the dot all option)

Very stupid question. I would like to get substring between "..." symbols. For example, string 02 July from Explosion occurred on "02 July", 2008.
How to do this with single Match Regular Expression?
For example such expression ".*" will give me "02 July":
But I would like to get it without " symbols!
I tried this "[~"]*" and this "[~"].*", then read this and this , and all without success... But I'm sure it should be possible. Can you help me?

Question about creating regular expression

Hi!
I am creating parser for the specific configuration file. Now I have got small problem: I need to find the line with text in format "key value".
For example I have this text file:
entry {
     key value
     key2 value2
     entry2 {
     }I wish to find, using java.regex, these two lines: "key value" and "key2 value2". But how?

Is your problem that you don't understand regular expressions? If so then this might help. Or is your problem you don't understand Java regular expressions? If so then this might help. Or is your problem that you don't understand how to read lines of a file? If so then this might help.

When you said you used the Reg Exp tool, did you use it only as
preconfigured by the iMT migrate application wizard?
Because the default configuration of the regular expression tool will only
target the files in your ND project directories. If you wish to target
classes outside of the normal directory scope, you have to either modify the
"Source Directory" property OR create another instance of the regular
expression tool. See the "Tool" menu in the iMT to create additional tool
instances which can each be configured to target different sets of files
using different sets of rules.
Usually, I utilize 3 different sets of rules files on a given migration:
spider2jato.xml
these are the generic conversion rules (but includes the optimized rules for
ViewBean and Model based code, i.e. these rules do not utilize the
RequestManager since it is not needed for code running inside the ViewBean
or Model classes)
I run these rules against all files.
See the file download section of this forum for periodic updates to these
rules.
nonProjectFileRules.xml
these include rules that add the necessary
RequestManager.getRequestContext(). etc prefixes to many of the common
calls.
I run these rules against user module and any other classes that do not are
not ModuleServlet, ContainerView, or Model classes.
appXRules.xml
these rules include application specific changes that I discover while
working on the project. A common thing here is changing import statements
(since the migration tool moves ND project code into different jato
packaging structure, you sometime need to adjust imports in non-project
classes that previously imported ND project specific packages)
So you see, you are not limited to one set of rules at all. Just be careful
to keep track of your backups (the regexp tool provides several options in
its Expert Properties related to back up strategies).

This is a great input for our migration. Though we used the existing
Regular Expression Mapping tool, we did not change this to meet our
own needs as mentioned by Mike.

Using Regular Expressions to Find Quoted Text

I have run into a couple problems with the following code.
1) Slash-Star and Slash-Slash commented text must be ignored.
2) It does not detect backslashed quotes, or if that backslash is backslashed.
Can this be accomplished with Regular Expressions, or should I implement this using if/indexOf logic?

Matching substrings between square brackets using regular expressions

1.- I have an english sentence. Some words of the sentence stand between square brackets, for example "I [eat] and [sleep]"
2- I would like to match strings that are in square brackets using regular expressions (java.util.regex.*;) and here is the code I have written for the task

That is to say that not only words between square brackets are found but also the substring "and". And this is not what I want.
What I would like to have as a result is:

*Patter found!: [sleep]*
That is to say I want to match only the words between the square brackets and nothing else.
Does somebody know how to do this? Any help would be great.

You can find the words by looping through the sentence and then return the substring within the indexes.

}something like that. This code will only find the firt word however. I do not know much about regex so I cannot help anymore.

Data generation using regular expression in c# for sql server

Hello Everybody,
I am using VS 2013 professional, SQL Server 2012.
I am writing database application in c#. I have a table which stores starttime and endtime of operator
As starting step, I inserted random DateTime into the table.
But i would like hide some Patterns inside the database like it should insert some records that operator2 is absent on every second tuesday in every month in 2014 between 3AM to 4AM.
How do i tell my c# code to insert that Patterns into databse. From some posts I understtod that it may be done by using regular expressions. But i did not find clear example.
Could someone please tell me how to do it?

I'm not sure what exactly you're referring to, but I think you may be able to accomplish some of what you want by using triggers, constraints, and column defaults. These are database objects that are defined by using DDL, so have a look at the DDL reference
(and other information about these objects) in SQL Server Books Online and see if these will do what you want. T-SQL implements a "pattern-wildcard language" that is not the same as regular expressions.
In addition you can write SQLCLR objects (e.g. triggers and functions) that can use the .NET regular expression library, which is an implementation of the well-known regular expression library. There are a number of examples of SQLCLR/regular expressions
around, a simple web search should suffice.

Question about using 10g/11g and APEX ...

Can I use APEX with express, standard, and enterprise editions of 10g and 11g?

I have a few questions about Airport extreme/express:
1 Can you access hard drive trough express?
2 I have cable NOT wireless modem. What would be the best option (speed-wise) to connect to internet- connect modem to Extreme and access internet wirelessly from it? To connect modem to Extreme and imac?
3 How fast is read/ write from hard drive connected to Extreme?
4 How many hard drives can you connect to Extreme (or Express if that is possible)?
5 Can you remotely sync Ipod nano/ shuffle using Extreme?
I really hate wire clutter around my desk. What I intend to do is to connect hard drives and printer to Airport Extreme and access them remotely. That would leave empty desk:).

Trying to use regular expressions to convert names to Title Case

I'm trying to change names to their proper case for most common names in North America (esp. the U.S.).
Some examples are in the comments of the included code below.
My problem is that *retName = retName.replaceAll("( [^ ])([^ ]+)", "$1".toUpperCase() + "$2");* does not work as I expect. It seems that the toUpperCase method call does not actually do anything to the identified group.
Everything else works as I expect.
I'm hoping that I do not have to iterate through each character of the string, upshifting the characters that follow spaces.
Any help from you RegEx experts will be appreciated.

Give the AppleTV units unique names and also enable Airplay password in settings with unique passwords for each teacher.
