A question concerning Photoshop Elements 3

After posting a topic yesterday on Photoshop Elements 3 which installed but won't open I am still very puzzled, I installed it on my normal admin-account but the thing won't run (Photoshop Elements 2 runs smoothly).
After installing it on a new made admin-account it runs perfectly (as long as I stay in that account). If I then go back to my normal account and try to open it , it won't open......
What puzzles me is that according to my logic ( but that has caused me problems earlier) I install on the same hard-disc on the same Intel based computer. Which part of my brain has to be reinstalled so I understand?

I'm not sure my PSE 3.0 has ever worked on this new machine. I had it installed on my previous Powerbook, on which it was a little cranky but I was always able to get it to run. I got this Macbook Pro in January and transferred all my apps & data but hadn't tried to open PSE until recently. When I did, it would give me the splash window and start scrolling through the setup list (or whatever you call it) but would then stop and the crash window would appear. I was on the road and gave up trying until I got home and could do a reinstall. But like I said, that didn't work either.
If it's any help, it stops loading at "Building TWAIN menu items..."

Question about Photoshop Elements 11, Windows 8, and new Dell Computer

Since I bought a new Dell Inspirion 660 computer, running Windows 8, my Photoshop Elements 11 occassionally gives me an error message saying I cannot save the file because I do not have enough RAM. I have 8GB of RAM. I never had this problem on my Old Dell Windows XP computer. Any suggestions?

Email Account Question for Photoshop Elements 10 Organizer

I can create draft photo emails and email messages with attachments in Photoshop Elements 10 Organizer, but I cannot activate and send them apparently unless my client is Microsoft Outlook. I have two other email accounts that I want to use, but not Microsoft Outlook. I don't want yet another account. Why can't I establish my own preferred email client for this purpose? If I can, then how do I do it when no option is provided at least within the Organizer.

Which email client you want to use?
You should be able to configure your email client with Adobe Email Services in Organizer. Do you see Adobe Email Service in Edit >> Pref >> Sharing-

I believe that Amazon (the actual Amazon, and not semi-affiliated merchents) WAS a certified Adobe reseller. However, with the CC (Creative Cloud), I am not sure about that any longer - others can verify their certification.
As CS 5 is discontinued software, I would NOT expect Adobe to be selling that version - anywhere.
Research ANY reseller, and very, very carefully.
Also, do gain the rights to manipulate and post ALL © material - that is not only smart, but also honest and ethical.

PS - you might also want to explore two other, current Adobe programs: Photoshop Elements 11, and Premiere Elements 11. They are often sold in bundles, for about the MSRP on one. Together, they will handle most Still Image editing needs, and also Video creation and editing. They are both very inexpensive, but powerful programs.

Question re Photoshop Elements upgrade

I have upgraded Photoshop Elements from v10 to v11 (without deleting v10). However, v11 can't 'see' my catalogue. How do I fix this?

Question about Photoshop Elements, not sure where else to post at.

I am looking to be able to add layers and do some fun type editing for photos to use as backgrounds and media shows. I'm new to this. I am planning to add Photoshop Elements and was just curious if it does enough different stuff from iPhoto 11 to make it worth it as well as enough to avoid purchasing the bigger more expensive Photoshop programs. I am also wondering where to get good tutorials on learning to use it, if so. Any help? Thanks.

PhotoShop Elements will do what you want, and is a good complement to iPhoto. For learning it, I suggest Barbara Brundage's excellent Missing Manual for PhotoShop Elements (Macintosh).

Question: Reinstall Photoshop Elements

Because I was having problems, I uninstalled Photoshop Elements 9. Now Adobe does not recognize the serial # that I put in when I try to reinstall.

Did you "de-activate" your product before uninstalling it from the system? If not, why not and how are you going to activate your product again because online activation might just fail if you have already activated on two different machines.
However, this apart, please let us know if you have any other Adobe products installed on your system. Ignore any trial software because these can be re-installed again if need be.
Finally, it might be your worthwhile to try Adobe Cleaner Utility to remove all traces of any Adobe products. Please don't use the tool unless you have read everything about it on Adobe page I have linked above. It is a dangerous tool in the hands of a newbie.

Photoshop Elements 9 - Organize - I have lost the top task bar that shows "File, Edit, Image etc".

Using Photosho Eleements 9, I have just had to install the prgroamme changuing my computers to Windows 7.
After installing this oprogramme, I am unable to see the top Task Bar which shows "Files, Edit, Image etc..
This is OK in the Edit programme.
How do I get this taskbar back again as I am unable to import items?

Photoshop element 10 cadre

mon premier passage ici.
J'avais la version 4 et je regrette amèrement d'avoir dépenser de l'argent pour la version 10 au lieu de me contenter d'un logiciel gratuit comme on me le conseillait.
Un exemple parmi d'autres: les cadres. Un grand choix dans la version 4.
Dans la version 10, j'ai trouvé 3 cadres qui en fait n'en sont pas.
Pourquoi Photoshop a-t-il supprimé les cadres? J'espérais naïvement un plus grand choix.
Je suis très en colère et je ne conseillerai plus ce logiciel car il n'y a pas que les cadres. Je viens par exemple de découvrir qu'au lieu d'utiliser un clic droit pour dupliquer une photo, il faut passer par le menu. Je regrette cet achat.
En faisant une recherche ici, j'ai d'ailleurs constaté qu'il n'y a rien de récent concernant photoshop element.

Je vous remercie pour votre rapide réponse. J'ignorais aussi l'apparition d'un avertissement dans la boîte courriel.
Je connais la page que vous m'avez signalée. J'avais déjà fait des recherches.
De plus ce type de "cadres" se trouvait déjà dans la version 4 mais pas sous le titre cadre du moins il me semble. Je les ai rarement utilisés.
Pour les cadres dans la version 4, on se contentait de cliquer une fois (et non deux comme c'est la règle maintenant dans les panneaux) et photoshop faisait tout le travail comme une sorte de macros.
D'ailleurs, il y a longtemps, j'avais lu que dans les versions suivantes on aurait la possibilité de créer simplement des macros pour éviter d'appliquer la même série d'actions sur plusieurs photos. J'attendais cela avec impatience.
Et question aide ce n'est pas la joie. Rien sur le cd, il fallait chercher le pdf sur internet.
Avec la 4, même hors connexion, des explications apparaissaient quand on écrivait dans le cadre recherche (pas toujours compréhensibles).
J'attendais la sortie d'un livre sur la version 10 (il y en a déjà en flamand) mais je pense que j'éviterai de faire des dépenses supplémentaires pour la version 10.
Quant aux cadres originaux, j'utiliserai un logiciel gratuit (fotoskecher) qui le fait d'un clic comme c'était le cas pour la version 4, mais on n'a pas le choix de la qualité pour l'enregistrement. Et je préférais les cadres de photoshop 4.
Je précise la question : pourquoi photoshop a supprimé les cadres qu'on obtenait d'un simple clic?
Autre stupidité de la part de photoshop element 10 :
je choisis toujours l'enregistrement web car je n'utilise pas l'organizer. On utilise photoshop d'abord pour des photos et non pour des gifs. Et que fait la version 10 ? Par défaut il affiche le format gif.
Autrement dit, la version 10 multiplie les manipulations. Et tout cela pour 90 euros !
J'espérais un plus grand choix et c'est le contraire à première vue.
De plus après chaque utilisation, norton utilities signale des problèmes de HKEY de priorité élevée. La joie !
J'ai utilisé les versions 1 et 4. Je pense que la 10 sera la dernière.

I currently using Photoshop element 11 and I want to buy lightroom 5.
can i install lightroom 5 without removing the element 11?
because I still use the video editing from the element 11.

Photoshop Elements 11 and Premiere Elements 11 are standalone products. Each comes with its own Elements Organizer 11. When both are on the same computer they share the same Elements Organizer 11 catalog. Consequently, Premiere Elements 11 will continue to have its Elements Organizer 11 even if you uninstall Photoshop Elements 11.
Lightroom is also a standalone product. Any questions about Photoshop Elements and Lightroom integration should be directed to the Adobe Photoshop Lightroom Forum Photoshop Lightroom and Adobe Photoshop Elements Forum Photoshop Elements

I’ve migrated to Lightroom 3, which I use for all my organizing and most of my editing (I still use the Photoshop Elements Editor for more involved editing). Adobe has clearly decided not to invest sufficient resources for properly maintaining the Photoshop Elements Organizer– see my Amazon review of PSE 8. Lightroom is marketed to professionals and prosumers with tens of thousands of photos who demand adequate organizational capabilities, whereas Photoshop Elements is marketed to consumers, most of whom do not want or use the Organizer.

Backup and Restore from Photoshop Elements 8 to Photoshop Elements 12 Not Working

I have a dual boot Windows XP SP3 32 bit/ Windows 7 SP 64 bit system with Photoshop Elements (PSE) 8 installed on the Win XP system and PSE 12 installed on the Win 7 system. Both systems can see a shared drive. I can create a catalog backup on the Win XP system using PSE 8. When I attempt to restore the catalog on the Win 7 system using PSE 12 every file fails to restore. I believe I have followed the process correctly. Any suggestions?

From the looks of it, Premiere Elements (any version) has nothing to do with this issue. Is that correct? The question seems to involve Photoshop Elements. Somehow your thread was posted in the Adobe Premiere Elements Forum (video editing) and not the Adobe Photoshop Elements Forum which should have been the destination for your question.

PE is usually used to designate Premiere Elements, and PSE is usually used to designate Photoshop Elements. Using abbreviations can could confusion at times when PE and PSE are used interchangeably.
Out of curiosity, is your set up Windows 7 Professional SP1 64 bit and the companion virtual Windows XP Professional SP3 32 bit or is it as your wrote, the real thing "a dual boot Windows XP/ Windows 7 system". Photoshop Elements 8 and 12 are compatible on Windows 7 64 bit, why the Photoshop Elements 8 on Windows XP?
