Answer - By providing direct link of the WD application created in SE80, creating iView for webdynpro abap application in the portal environment and NWBC environment

Answer - Yes it can be developed in ECC. Webdynpro ABAP is introduced in NW 2004s (SAP NetWeaver 7.0 or ECC 6.0)

A basic query with respect to using Message Selectors in JMS

When i am going MEssage Selectors topic in web , it seems very confusing for me .
I have written a simple JMS Application based on Weblogic as my Queue .
I have two Java Files one for Message Producer and another file acting as Message Consumer using MDB

we are to develop a print job and are thinking about using adobe interactive forms technology .
Nevertheless, we are a bit reluctant, as reading the OSS hint 1009567 which states the functional differences between SAP interactive forms and smart forms we are not sure whether the following required functionality would be covered by SAP Interactive Forms.
It would be great if someone would be able to tell us whether the following requirements can be met using SAP Interactive Forms within a print job, i.e. ABAP level, no use of Web Dynpro :
- total amount of pages:
The information of the total amount of pages of a print out is needed on the first page as it needs to be encoded within a barcode
   on the first page (refering to OSS hint 1009567 nr 1)
- count copies
   It must be possible to count copies, is this possible? (refering to OSS hint 1009567 nr 3)
- Styles

I am quite new to OSB 11g and have some queries.
1. If a SOA Composite transaction has been rolled back, how would be reflected in OSB. Would there be any retries?
2. For a composite to use a proxy service, is it a must to use a direct binding reference of OSB? Can't SOA composite simply consider a proxy service a generic web service?
3. Where are the debugging information written to? Can you control what is written to the debugging file? Can you specify filters,level of severity? Can you specify what context variables?
4. Does OSB only runs on WLS and is therefore not hot pluggable on other app servers?
5. One can create, attach WS-policies to my WSDL web services and enforce them on WLS all without using OWSM. If this is possible then what is the role of OWSM?
I would really appreciate any help with these queries.

If you are calling an OSB Proxy from a SOA Composite and the transaction is terminated and rolled back from SOA Composite then OSB transaction will also be terminated and an error will be logged on OSB side. For retrying I am not sure but there should be an option in the SOA suite composite to retry.

SOA Suite composite can directly call a WSDL based Proxy Service as a generic web service. I believe it It should also be possible to invoke an XML/HTTP (Any XML Proxy Service) from SOA Suite composite. Although Direct Binding is the preferred option because of performance and security reasons.
3. Where are the debugging information written to? Can you control what is written to the debugging file? Can you specify filters,level of severity? Can you specify what context variables?
Debug information will be written into the WLS log files by default. You can log any information you want (context variables or custom data) from a Proxy Service message flow using Log action. You can control the severity of log in the Log Action.
You can define what level of Logs will be actually written to the log file and set any custom filters on Logs in the WLS Console (Home>Servers>{Your server Name}>Logging>Advanced).
If you want to enable specific debug logging at the server level(for ex if you want to log transaction details by default), you can do so by enabling needed debug logging at (Home>Servers>{Your server Name}>Debug)
4. Does OSB only runs on WLS and is therefore not hot pluggable on other app servers?
Yes OSB is only certified for WLS.
5. One can create, attach WS-policies to my WSDL web services and enforce them on WLS all without using OWSM. If this is possible then what is the role of OWSM?
Biggest difference is of Scope. You can very well attach WS Policies to services in OSB but their scope will only be of OSB. OWSM can do so at an enterprise level across various applications. OWSM also provides end to end security and SLA monitoring, easier update of Policies across enterprise etc. For more details on OWSM check out this white paper:

Question with respect to a report painter report : tcode S_ALR_87100190

Hi All,
I had a problem with the transaction S_ALR_87100190. With this transaction meant for Actual/Plan/Var Project + Responsible,
in the report selections for From Period/year and To Period/year, the system was not accepting special periods but was only accepting posting periods.
Hence the sap report was copied to another report and the fields Fiscal year and Period were added separately in order to solve the problem.
But now, after specifying the above two fields there seems to be an issue. If we specify the From fiscal year as 2005, from period as 06, To Fiscal year as 2008, To period as 10, it considers only those periods that are between 06 and 10. So if we have a period/fiscal year as 02/2006 that should appear in the report, the system is not picking the entry of 02/2006 in the report.
Does anyone know how the problem could be solved?

Question with respect to report painter

Hi All,
I needed to copy the standard form 3CST6 which is a drilldown cost report in the standard system that shows the project objects along with the Name of the Responsible Person in the output.
I needed to make a change to the copied report where I had to change the general selection from period / year to fiscal year. Hence I copied the form corresponding to 3CST6, made the change to fiscal year in the form corresponding to 3CST6 and while creating a new project, included the changed form. (copied from 3CST6).
After making the change to fiscal year and then executing the copied report, I do not see the responsible person in the output.
Could anyone help me out with this.

Probleme with my InterMedia used in my JAVA application

I wanted to import my OrdImage to my Java code using this code :
OrdImage imgObj = (OrdImage) rset.getORAData(1, OrdImage.getORADataFactory() );
But it doesnt know the method OrdImage.getORADataFactory(), when I checked all the methods available in my OrdImage Class, there is no getORADataFactory(), there is only getFactory() which didnt work, is there other methods or codes to deal with my probleme ?

Try to reset the phone by holding the sleep and home button for about 10sec, until the Apple logo comes back again. You will not lose any data by resetting, but it can cure some glitches.

Problem with CR Viewer using VS 2008 CR application

I have a C# VS 2008, .NET 2.0 app that shows a crystal report in the CR viewer initially as full page - via code. The user can then change the size setting user the viewer to other settings/percentages. On one machine the report does not come up full page, but shows about 1/4 of the report - roughly the upper left hand quadrant of the report. Changes the size percentages produces some erratic results, and selecting full page will then again show the upper left hand quadrant, and not full page. We have unloaded the application and reinstalled the CR distr package, but still get the same results. On over a 100 other machines everything works fine except this machine. Any ideas? As the application is running fine in other systems except one, you can try using [ProcMon|http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/sysinternals/bb896644.aspx] utility to see what is different between the 2 systems(the one which is working and the one which is giving errors) .

That is not a practically empty xinitrc - that file only needs one line: exec WM. Other things are entirely optional, and some of them very useful, but I'd encourage you to stick with the simplest xinitrc that will do what you require.
Is slim involved? Probably. That is the source of many problems. But to start narrowing this down, I have 3 suggestions:
1) temporarily (at least) change your inittab to default to runlevel 3 ... actually, is it currently set to 5 or 3? if it is currently 3 that would explain why slim doesn't start.
2) at a tty in runlevel 3 use "xinit" instead of "startx". Startx is fine most of the time, but it is essentially just a complex wrapper for xinit. That complexity can often iadd useful functionality, but it *always* makes troubleshooting more difficult. So for now just use a vanilla 'xinit'.
3) remove dbus-launch from your exec line in xinitrc. This is done by console-kit so it is redundant and potentially problematic. Further BOTH of these are taken care of by slim, so I'd even suggest getting both a jump start on being ready for slim and simplifying troubleshooting by removing both of them. Just make that line "exec openbox-session"
Edit: adding one more:
4) temporarily switch out openbox-session for openbox. I suspect the reason feh's setting of the background is getting overridden is due to a script or setting in openbox's autostart settings - many of these are only invoked when "openbox-session" is called, while "openbox" starts *just* the window manager itself.

Are you actually having a problem with the new Lacie drive, or are you just asking is the Lacie drive somehow different from your old G-Drive?
From a connection standpoint, most Lacie desktop drives have both USB and FireWire connections, just like the G-Drives do. You would connect and use it the same as a G-Drive.
Regarding capturing to the external HD, if you are using a camcorder that has FireWire (iLink) connection, it is not advisable to have an external FireWire HD connected to your Mac at the same time as your camcorder; there are often communication conflicts between the camcorder and the hard drive if they are connected at the same time. The conflicts usually appear as either dropped frames or a complete freeze. This is more common with Canon miniDV camcorders but I have also seen this behavior with Sony miniDV camcorders. (The problem is the camcorder's FW implementation, not the hard drive.) The workaround is to capture to your Mac's internal HD and later copy the captured video to your external HD.

Hi Gopal,
1) yes the frequency generator is programmable. You have 2 timbebases (10MHz and 100kHz) and you can divide down by any integer between 1-16. Those are the only frequencies you can use.
2) The way counters work is that you can apply a gate signal to the counter which will cutoff the output. Therefore, you can have a second counter generating a pulse train of an equivalent frequency to the frequency generator (fout) but you don't want it to start immediately. You want it to start only after a short delay (equivalent to a 90d phase). Therefore, you need to "gate" or prevent the output on this counter for that small delay period of time. The way you can do this is by using a second counter to create a delayed pulse. You would
connect the output of that counter to the gate of your pulse train function. That way, during the delay period of the pulse, you won't be outputing your pulse train yet. When the pulse (high-time) of your pulse reaches the gate, then your pulse train will start generating its pulse train (which is consequently delayed by the amount of delay used in the single delayed pulse counter). Since you don't want your pulse to go back low, you will have to turn off or clear your pulse counter while it is high. That way the signal on the gate will remain high forever.
Your better solution is to use a PCI-660x card to perform this action. You will have more counters which will give you a greater range of frequencies to choose from and you will have more accurate timing of the signals.

No idea if Windows will do it, but you can run Windows without Bootcamp & have OSX available at the same time, which should give you all the Monitors that OSX uses.

Simply add the email account to Mail, no need for Entourage.
One word of warning, though, iPads tend to become community property (meaning anyone who uses your iPad can access your email). That is why I have zero email accounts on my iPad.
I use Entourage on my desktop as well, so going back and forth between Entourage and Mail (whether on your iPad or iPhone) is no problem.
