Hey,
A reason why someones 3g might be going slow is because the servers cant handle all the data with the new phones.
So ever since I got my iphone 3g, ive noticed that the 3g speeds are quite slow (~150kbps). In my area, we have very good 3g coverage so I was kinda suprised. I called AT&T and they told me that it was because the high volume of new 3g users(iphone users) that meant the servers were having trouble and were slowing down. I decided to try my phone late at night (~11pm or midnight) when there was less usage and then I started getting around 500kbps.
I suggest trying 3g speed tests when usage would be low like late at night. (iphonespeedtest.com is decent for checking speeds)
So, part or all of the problem seems to be with AT&T and not apple. AT&T needs to getting cracking on upgrading and expanding these servers.

MacBook pro doesnt start. When I start my lap top, it shows the apple and the line uploading but it only goes like to 1/3 and then it goes blank for some seconds, then it turns off by itself and turn on again and happen the same, apple logo, etc

Why is macbookpro so slow for shutdown

My Mac book Pro (Mac Os X.7.4) is very slow for shutting down.

Make sure and quit all open applications before shutting your Mac down.
If you an app open, there will be a small bluish reflection under the icon in the Dock.
If you have problesm quitting an app, you can "force quit". Several ways to do this.
Click your Apple menu icon top left corner of your screen. From the drop down menu click Force Quit.
Or, Command + Option + Escape on your keyboard.
Or by launching Activity Monitor located in /Applications/Utilities

Why does my jdev hang for some time

Hi,
I want to know the reason why my jdev 10.1.3.4.0 hang for some time in some scenario's?
like:
whenever i start standalone oc4j server, after using the application in server' url, if i go to jdev it will hang for a min or so.
normal usage also it will hang for some thrice a day or so??

I recommend resetting the System Management Controller (SMC) on your iMac:
Resetting the SMC for Mac Pro, Intel-based iMac, Intel-based Mac mini, or Intel-based Xserve
Shut down the computer.
Unplug the computer's power cord.
Wait fifteen seconds.
Attach the computer's power cord.
Wait five seconds, then press the power button to turn on the computer.

New Mac Pro 6.1 slow for some tasks, any ideas?

May new Mac Pro 6.1 (6 core, 64 GB RAM, D700's) is running very slow for 2 specific tasks.
OS X 10.9.3 PS CC 14.2.1
Open Canon 5D3 Camera Raw files takes 30 seconds.
Smart Sharpen 5D3 file takes 75 seconds.
That is WAY slower than my 6 year old Mac Pro 3.1!
Everything else runs quickly and efficiently on the 6.1, but it almost freezes during these 2 tasks. Not good! As a photographer who processes hundreds of 5D3 RAW files at a time this is a big problem for me.

I have unchecked Use Graphics Processor and the time for opening a RAW file remains around 30 seconds and to smart sharpen is now 100 seconds (up from 75).
In the activity monitor, I get between 500 and 600% use of the processors when opening RAW and 800% during sharpening.
A few seconds after clicking open in ACR, I get a dialogue box with the blue bar almost complete for a fraction of a second, then it disappears and another box appears (half the hight of the first one) and starts with only a small part completed, then takes it 30 seconds to finish. It's like it tried to open in a normal way and failed, then another very slow backup process took over.
In the top righ corner of the Smart Sharpen dialogue box, I tried selecting "Use Legacy", then it sharpens in about 3 seconds!
Also of note, when opening a RAW file or smart sharpening, the computer becomes very slow and unresponsive, even to get mail or surf the internet. Even streaming radio in iTunes cuts in and out or cuts out completely. As if the entire system is overwhelmed. Despite having 2 or 3 cores unused and at least 40 GB of unused RAM.
Not what I was expecting from a very expensive upgrade in the hopes of cutting down the amount of computer time per image file!

Why does iMessage only work for some of my contacts?

Having problems with iMessage. It will work for some of my contacts but not others. And those people arre having the same problem, works with other people but not me.. Anyone dealt with this?

1. Both devices have to be running iOS 5.*
2. Internet latency can delay iMessage connection. If you enabled "Send as SMS", the phone will switch to SMS if iMessage doesn't connect quickly. If you disable Send as SMS, more of your messages will go through as iMessage.

This is not an issue, just wanted to know how this can be done.

For Physical standby, since it's block to block identical with primary. You could use backup of primary to recover physical standby. There's usually no need to backup physical standby.
For logical standby, since you could have other schema hosted on it in addition to the one that protected by data guard. It's good idea to have separate backup from primary.
Otherwise, rebuild from primary is always an option.

Is there a reason why safari isn't working for windows anymore?? It's saying there's a problem and just wants to close. Help guys!

So i've been using safari for windows for a couple of year with no issues. A couple of days ago i tried to open safari and a pop came up saying that it isnt working properly. I checked for any updates and there wasnt any, i then uninstalled safari and installed it again. The same thing is happening.
Has anyone got any idea what is going on?? or is anyone having the same issues??
I've now installed chrome as my browser. I did like safari though

Yeaaaaa that's a matter of opinion and I don't share it.
It's margianlly better than firefox and it burns CPU and ram like no tomorrow.

3 reasons why I'm going to give my Touch back to Apple

1: Well for a start. It's stopped working. After 4 weeks of low useage, it keeps stopping in the middle of a song and resetting itself to the main menu. Other forum posters say this happens to them when they're using Safari. This is happening to me when I play a song. I cannot get through one song without it turning off.
2: The sound on the Touch is inferior to my old black & white Ipod. On my Ipod the music sounds fresh & alive and kicking. On the Touch, it feels restrained, bass heavy and suffocated.
3: The Music shuffle settings are a joke. Why can't we have the same as what we had on Ipods? I want to be able to choose a first record and then expect it to shuffle after that. You can't do that on the Touch. Place the Touch in shuffle mode and then choose a track and it plays everything else in alphabetical order.

Can anyone explain why safari is going wrong for me on the iMac but works on the ipad?

Safari on my iMac desktop has started freezing when blue band is halfway along an address from my bookmarked list. Once it has stuck I can double click on any other address and it will not open or change the top address bar. If I actually delete the first address manually then I cannot even put a question in the window nor will it accept any bookmarked address. Can any one help?

my phone is going nuts, it seem to activate siri on its on and takes pictures on the home scrren and some time the home button get stuck , please i need your help in solving this issue, my phone is new , it happens sometime when my phone is on a table with nothing touching it

Sounds like you have a home button fault as both symptoms relate to the home button, e.g. Siri is normally activated by holding the home button. Screenshots are normally taken by pressing the sleep/wake button and the home button together so then you are switching on the phone it probably assumes the home button is also being pressed and takes the screenshot.
You will need to make a Genius Bar reservation at your local store and take it in. They are able to replace the home button module on the iPhone 5 which is most likely what they will do. Just ensure you have a backup in case they do decide to replace the phone.

Internet goes slow for like 5 minutes, and then goes up again?

So, yea, i've been experiencing this problem a lot. I'm playing a game, and then, out of nowhere, I start getting 300-400 ping, and I can't even play it. Then, like 5-10 minutes later, I start getting my ping back. This only happens on my Mac. My family has other 2 computers, and that doesn't happen in theirs.
Specs:
Macbook Pro 13in Mid-2012 running Version 10.9.4.
