A recent problem on 1100dtn business inkjet printer attached to network

I have an HP 1100dtn business inkjet printer Ihat is attachded to my network. I had problems with the yellow inkjet got plugged and started messing the printed colors. I played with some settings and ended up getting wat appears to be a separator page before and after most everything I print. I went back to the spot I ran and ran it again hopping to have it toggle off. I checked on settings that say separater & they appear to say no to separtor page. Nothing seems to work. I have even disconnected it from everything and rebooted it
Is there a setting I can get to that allows me to stop this wasted paper short of replacing the whole printer with a Lazerjet?

HP 2800DTN Business InkJet Printer Error msg

When printing to a networked HP Business Inkjet 2800 printer, using paper from the bottom paper try, we receive a "Carriage jam" msg on the printer's display.
If we print using paper from the top tray, we have no problems, and the prints are fine.
I don't have any other 2800's at this site, so I can't experiement with paper trays. Any ideas on what to look at?

HP ePrint Home & Biz failing to find Business Inkjet 1200 on wireless network

I am trying to set up printing from my phone over my local network to an HP printer.
I have downloaded the HP ePrint Home & Biz app onto a Samsung SII runningAndroid v4.0.4 the app cannot find the HP Business Inkjet 1200 (C8156A) on the wireless network.
1) The printer is functional and other devices can print to it
2) The phone is able to conect wirelessly to the printer via a browser connection
3) The printer is on a fixed IP number
4) The BI 1200 is listed on the supported models page for ePrint Home & Biz app
5) I have registered the app with ePrint but should be able to connect via the local wireless network
I tried to use the Connect Manually option but it is tring to get me to supply an ePrint e-mail address. Do I really have to register the printer on ePrint to get this app to work?
As someone else said why not have an app that just formats the print job and sends it to the local printer?

The app can actually do what you want and print over the local network.
It sounds like what you are doing is going to settings, and then manage eprinters, and trying to add the device there. This section is only for eprint capable devices, and allows you to print to them even when you are not at the same location.
Go back to the home screen of the app.
Select a photo or document from within the app.
Simply push on the area near the bottom of the screen that may show a printer, or if its never printed it may just have a down arrow.
From here you should be able to click on printer and choose your printer.
The above method will simply search the local network for supported devices, and does not require any registration of the app.

Only the first page is printed reduced as setup. All pages afterward are full size with information cut off. Recent problem. Can print from Safari just fine. How can I get all pages to be reduced size?

One suggestion worked from the Firefox prints incorrectly link mentioned above by mha007. I'm thrilled since this has been annoying me for weeks. Thanks mha007!
Reset all Firefox printer settings
# Open your profile folder:
# On the menu bar, click on the Help menu and select Troubleshooting Information. The Troubleshooting Information tab will open.
# Under the Application Basics section, click on Show in Finder. A window with your profile folder will open.
# Note: If you are unable to open or use Firefox, follow the instructions in Finding your profile without opening Firefox.
# On the menu bar, click on the Firefox menu and select Quit Firefox.
# In your profile folder, copy the prefs.js file to another folder to make a backup of it.
# Open the original prefs.js file in a text editor (such as TextEdit).
# Remove all lines in prefs.js that start with print. and save the file.
# If something goes wrong when you open Firefox, close it again and overwrite prefs.js with the backup you made.

Printer 2200 business inkjet problems

I have been using this printer for perhaps 10 years or more. Lately it has been giving me a message about replacing the black cartridge, which I have done, but it continues. I have replaced the black one several times now. From forums I have read, it sounds like I may need a new printer carriage cable, but I haven't found where to get one of these. I'm fairly sure I can perform the change if I can get the part. Anyone know where I can get this part or repair it?

HP's Partsurfer Site says the Business Inkjet 2200 is no longer supported by HP as of April 30, 2005 and service parts may not be available. You can use the Partsurfer Site pages to search for the parts you need, which would give you part numbers that you could then Google for a suitable supplier.
You might also try posting in the HP Business Support Forum, it is geared more toward the business products unlike this forum which is focused on consumer level products.

HP Business Inkjet 2800 Printing Magenta Instead of Red

Hi,
We've got an HP Business Inkjet 2800 in the office that is printing magenta instead of red. I'm printing from Windows XP. I've aligned the cartridges and cleaned the cartridges, and still haven't been able to solve the problem. Any suggestions?

Hello mikesorr,
On the bottom of the ink cartridge is a small chip that the printer reads to help determine information about the ink. You may want to inspect that area to ensure it is clean and inspect inside the printer where the chip makes contact with the printer contacts to ensure there are no spillage or other debris which may cause the chip to not be read properly.
Also it may help to also post your question on the HP Enterpise Business Community since the product is a business model, the community there may have additional troubleshooting steps or other information that may assist you.

I have since discovered the CD isn't recognized on my computer and/or by this Mountain Lion system and that I had to go to Apple to upgrade the new driver for this product, and which I did, but I can't find the epson folder other than the attached. I just want to place an alias printer logo on my desktop but I can't find it anywhere. What to do???

Hi, one question & one suggestion...
What possible things are connected at home but not at the store, inlude every cable, etc.
One way to test is to Safe Boot from the HD, (holding Shift key down at bootup), run Disk Utility in Applications>Utilities, then highlight your drive, click on Repair Permissions, Test for problem in Safe Mode...
PS. Safe boot may stay on the gray radian for a long time, let it go, it's trying to repair the Hard Drive
Reboot, test again.
If it only does it in Regular Boot, then it could be some hardware problem like Video card, (Quartz is turned off in Safe Mode), or Airport, or some USB or Firewire device, or 3rd party add-on, Check System Preferences>Accounts>Login Items window to see if it or something relevant is listed.
Check the System Preferences>Other Row, for 3rd party Pref Panes.
Also look in these if they exist, some are invisible...

HP Business Inkjet 1200, XP SP2, connected via Draytek 2710n router USB port will not print multiple page jobs. Will only print 1 page pdf, <3 page word docs.
Produces error - 'this document failed to print'
Works fine printing multiple page jobs from other PCs on the network. Other PCs are configured same.
Configured to use TCP/IP port 192.168.1.1 (router/gateway IP), LPR, Queue "p1"
HP Printer Diagnostic Utility shows no problems.
Tried:
Remove printer and drivers and reinstall. Cleaned temp spools folder. Checked amount of disk space, page file, ram. Reboot variously router, printer, PC. - No luck.
Any response much appreciated, thanks in advance.

I can't print my complete e- mail, only the first page. i have several pages of mail to print with all of the headers but am not able to do it on hotmail. it seems like i was able to do it before. it is import that all of these print because of current issues i am dealing with .

Automatic duplex printing under 64 bit Windows7 using Business Inkjet 1100

Is there no driver/setting that allows automatic duplex printing for business inkjet 1100 under 64 bit Win7? I have found the work-arounds (manual duplex printing) but that is an entirely unsatisfactory solution...if the printer happens to grab two sheets of paper on the second pass for a long document, the whole thing is spoiled.

Enter Control Panel > Devices and Printers,
Right click the printer icon, then click Priinter Properties.
Click Device Settings.
Mark the Two-Sided Duplex Accessory as Installed and the Automatic Duplex print option will appear.

Slow printing from Mac to HP Business Inkjet 2800dtn

We have an iMac running
Mac OS X 10.5.8
Indesign 5.0 CS4
Acrobat Pro 9.0.0
HP Business Inkjet 2800 driver PS v3010.107, with 76Mb Memory
It's taking forever to print documents that are a few Mb in size.
The documents are created with Indesign.
I've tried outputting to pdf and it's still no better.
One pdf is 3.5Mb and just gets stuck at 5%. The printer shows "processing job" until it fails after 30 mins.
I've tried printing the pdf from a Windows XP pc using the HP postscript driver and it's the same. The spool file shows as being 18Mb on the PC.
Printing using Windows PCL driver, the speed is OK but the quality is poor. The only way to get these to print is by using the Windows to print to PS with the print to Image option selected.
I've looked at the Mac spool folder and it looks like 6Mb when it goes to print.
It prints OK to an A4 HP CP3505N colour laser.
I've got a call out with HP but they seem stumped at the moment.
Any advice would be great.

if you will follow my correction, that not the printing itself is slow but the time for transferring the data to the printer, so I can serve with a solution.
Look attached file or to the following (english) thread. There is a new modified driver for the 2800, supporting 2 tray, duplex and sizes to A3.

Apps crash when selecting HP Business Inkjet 2600 in print dialog box

Hope someone can help. With an open PDF document I select the print dialog box. If I select the HP Business Inkjet 2600 the application crashes (tried Preview and Adobe Acrobat). I can select other printers fine.
What I have tried so far:
Logged into root account and the issue does not occur, indicating a permissions issue.
I have tried repairing permissions using disk utility with no success.
I have tried creating a new admin account and the same fault occurs in that account.
I have reset the printing system and re-added the printer - no success.
The system is a PowerMac G5 2GHz, 768 MB RAM, 10.4.8

Don't worry, solved it. Tested the printer using my powerbook G4 running 10.4.8. It worked fine so I copied the HP folder from /Library/Printers from the PB to the PM G5, repaired permissions using disk utility, rebooted and the G5 can now print fine to the HP.

Mac Lion OS print driver for hp color laser jet 1600 & business inkjet 2200

I just brought a Macbook Air (13in) with the new OS Lion. I however have a HP Color Laserjet 1600 and Business Inkjet 2200 that I love, but can't find a printer driver for either. So, my questions are, does anyone know if:
1) there is going to be a mac lion os print driver for hp color laser jet 1600 & Business Inkjet 2200; or
2) is there another way to print to them (i.e., the 2200 uses HPA instead of PS and the 1600 uses PCL)?

How to print to networked HP Business Inkjet 1200?

Hi, I've just gotten a (second-hand, so older) laptop that is now running 10.5.5. I can't figure out how to connect it to the networked HP Business Inkjet 1200 that we've got in the office.

The driver for the printer should be included in the system I have. However, in the list it is not checked as a "modern driver" which the article says means it "cannot be selected when adding an IP printer". I've always connected to this machine using IP printing from my 10.4 machines... If I just leave it in the "default" mode, the printer does not appear. The only other way I know how to select it is IP printing (it then correctly identifies it, but as promised, the driver does not appear in the list).
Any suggestions?

HP non-postscript printers with drivers capable of network printing are selected by clicking More Printers and then "HP IP." If you find that that doesn't work, then the driver isn't capable of network printing.
There is an open source driver available, hpijs:

It can be used for all the network protocols the printer supports (for most HPs, the preferred is HP Jetdirect protocol.)

How is the printer connected this computer? (USB/Ethernet/Wireless) Please download and run the Print and Scan Doctor, it will likely diagnose and resolve the issue you are experiencing. What were the results when you ran the Print and Scan Doctor? (did it print or scan, any error messages)
For wireless or wired connection issues, I would try the steps within this guide: An 'Unable to Find the Printer'.
