A recent PSE9 update repeatedly has download errors. What's wrong?

Yesterday, 11-Jun-2014, and again today, an automatic updater app (on my Win7/64 PC) indicated an update was available. Several times yesterday, and again several times today, I initiated the update to PSE9.0.3 (which came bundled with Photoshop Camera Raw 6.5 update) the download process apparently completes but then an error message showing "There was an error downloading this update. Please quit and try again later." appears. I've been running PSE5 for several years and just recently installed PSE9 (PSe5 is still installed). This is the first unannounced update for PSE9 that has appeared. What's going on with the erroneous download??

The last updates for PSE 9 was the 9.0.3 patch and ACR 6.5.
In the editor, if you go to Help -> About Photoshop Elements, does it say version 9.0.3?
Again, in the editor, go to Help -> About Plug-ins -> Camera raw, does it say 6.5.0.216?
If both are as above, then you are up to date. If one needs updating, try downloading the update and apply it manually.

  • Lion Combo Update 10.7.3 Error: What is wrong with my computer?

    I was having some issues with my laptop and was advised to update to the newest version of lion using the combo update. I was already using the normal, most recent version on lion downloaded and installed via software update (10.7.3).
    Now I've tried to install the 10.7.3 combo update twice and it gets stuck at 'less than one minute remaining' and sits like that for hours with no progress. It then says 'About 6 minutes', and again sits for hours without progress. The installer IS responding, the loading bar is animated and nothing I can tell is causing the issue (I've closed all background applications and turned of my antivirus). Please help! Also, I suspect because yesterday I turned off my laptop in the middle of the process after waiting hours for something to change, a lot of my applications immediately crash when trying to be opened. It's a nightmare! I've had hardware troubles in the past so I'm hoping this isnt a result of those.

    Install or Reinstall Lion from Scratch
    If possible backup your files to an external drive or second internal drive.
    Boot to the Recovery HD:
    Restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the COMMAND and R keys until the menu screen appears. Alternatively, restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the OPTION key until the boot manager screen appears. Select the Recovery HD and click on the downward pointing arrow button.
    Erase the hard drive:
    Select Disk Utility from the main menu and click on the Continue button.
    After DU loads select your hard drive (this is the entry with the mfgr.'s ID and size) from the left side list. Note the SMART status of the drive in DU's status area.  If it does not say "Verified" then the drive is failing or has failed and will need replacing.  SMART info will not be reported  on external drives. Otherwise, click on the Erase tab in the DU main window.
    Set the format type to Mac OS Extended (Journaled.) Click on the Erase button and wait until the process has completed.
    Quit DU and return to the main menu.
    Reinstall Lion: Select Reinstall Lion and click on the Install button.
    Note: You can also re-download the Lion installer by opening the App Store application. Hold down the OPTION key and click on the Purchases icon in the toolbar. You should now see an active Install button to the right of your Lion purchase entry. There are situations in which this will not work. For example, if you are already booted into the Lion you originally purchased with your Apple ID or if an instance of the Lion installer is located anywhere on your computer.

    What are you trying to update? Are you trying to do a Software Update from the Apple menu, or something else?

    Definitely sounds like an issue with your Wi-Fi network. Do any other devices on the network have similar issues? Is it an issue only with downloading apps? You can check by trying to load a website in Safari.
    I would try turning your Wi-Fi router off for 1 minute, and back on again.
    After doing that, disconnect and re-join the Wi-Fi network on your iPhone and try downloading an app again.

    I would either say that the iOS is correpted due to a software glitch or y have have a hardware problem like bad memory locations that are corrupting the iOS.
    - Restore from backup via iTunes. This will install a fresh copy of the iOS. See:                                                
    iOS: How to back up                                                                                     
    - Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.   This will elimate corruptin in the backup causing the problem.          
    If still problem, make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store since it appears you have a hardware problem.

    Hi all, this was initially meant to be a customer support chat, but it seems to be unavailable currently, so I'll ask on here instead.
    The issue is happening on Creative Cloud (1.7.1.418)
    I am running Mac OSX Mavericks (version 10.9.4), early 2011 model, 2GHz Intel Core i7 Processor, 4 GB 1333 MHz DDR3 Memory
    The Creative Cloud app is showing 6 updates. The updates are as follows...
    Premier Pro CC (2014) : Adobe Premier Pro CC 2014.0.1 Update
    Photoshop CC (2014) : Photoshop Camera Raw 8.5 (CC)
    InDesign CC (2014) : DPS Desktop Tools CC2014 31.0.1 Update
    Flash Professional CC and Mobile Device Packaging (2014) : Flash Professional CC Update - July 2014, as well as Photoshop Camera Raw 8.5(CC)
    Media Encoder CC (2014) : Adobe Media Encoder CC (2014.0.1)
    After Effects CC (2014) : Photoshop Camera Raw 8.5(CC)
    When I click the update button on any of these updates, I almost instantly receive an 'Update Failed' message.
    Upon clicking the 'Learn More' option, it reads 'Update Failed - Download Error. Press Retry to try again or contact customer support.(49).
    When Retrying, the same happens every time.
    It also affects newly installed apps. This morning when installing Bridge CC, the app itself downloaded fine, but an error message saying 'Instillation Succeeded, but a patch failed - Download Error. Press Retry to try again or contact customer support.(49).' appeared.
    It has been doing this for a fair few months now, having hoped upgrading from the CC apps to the new CC 2014 apps would fix it.. These updates themselves are also quite sporadic in their appearance. When I shut down my Mac and restart it, the updates often disappear, with an 'all apps are up to date' message in their place. They only then reappear when downloading a new app, or a more up-to-date update becomes available.
    I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling the apps multiple times, but nothing changes. In the past, I have tried manually downloading and installing the updates and patches through the website, though that too gave me an error message. I have switched off my firewall on occasion, as well as allowed all Adobe apps to be allowed through, though this does not seem to have any effect. I have tried it in multiple locations, being connected to multiple routers, so I do not believe it is a router issue. I am a student, so not connected to any companies that may be blocking access. I have also had a brief look at install logs in the past, though I am not particularly tech savvy when It comes to that sort of thing. I have also seen people recommend trying to update in root user mode, though I am not particularly comfortable with that, as I have been told It's not a good idea to mess about as a root user when you don't really know what you're doing
    Any help would be greatly appreciated

    I Updated my Nokia N8-00 to Nokia Belle and the videos I take are 30fps. Before updating it was at 25fps. When you were running Symbian Anna did you install the Camera update from betalabs? I personally did not install the Camera Update and waited for Nokia Belle and my videos are now at 30fps. Try reinstalling the Nokia Belle update again I hope it will help you people.

  • Updated WLC has strange error log and AP's not joining

    Hi we recently updated all of our WLC's to 7.098 and it all went smoothly, controllers rebooted and AP's updated their firmware and rebooted OK.
    One WLC (4402) which was working fine since the update now has no AP's associated. The AP's were all configured to run in HREAP mode and are on remote sites within our WAN. I have checked that all policies and ports are still open (none have changed anyway) but the AP's can not join with the contoller.

    Strange. Something must have happened that you didn't notice.
    From the logs, it looks like only lwapp requests are arriving at the WLC. And WLC discards them cause it knows the AP can also do capwap so it's waiting for the capwap join packet.
    As next step, I'd take a look at network traffic. Mostly close to the WLC where we want to know if we are receiving capwap discovery/join from the AP or not.

    Are you referring to updating the Kindle app? If so, then you either need to use the Apple ID and password you used in the iTunes Store when you downloaded the app, or you'll need to delete it and re-download it through the Apple ID and password you wish to use now.

  • Download Error; What's Up?

    Greetings All,
    I am getting this message from the Creative Cloud...  "Download Error" and looking to find out how to rectify this.  I have read some of the forum responses; However, losing internet connection is ruled out (I am on it now, the internet), therefore, there has to be some other solution?  Any help will be appreciated.
