A recommended case with strap attachment?

My 89 year old friend who bought an iPhone recently really loves it - except for one thing. He has trouble getting it out of his shirt pocket and actually holding it without feeling like he is going to drop it. It is sort of user unfriendly to not have a place for a wrist strap, just in order to make the iPhone look sleek and simple.
Anyway, does anyone know of any 3rd party cases that solve the problem by having a place in which to attach a strap?
Something that remains connectable without removing the case would be ideal.
Thanks for any suggestions.

I have a case - I forget who makes them - that has a clear polycarbonate piece on the front (leaving the screen open, of course), and a sort of rubberized black coating on the back side so it's not as slippery as the bare metal.
I am horrible with hardware - I drop laptops and my iPhone all the time - and I really feel like it is well protected with this case. (Although one time I dropped it and it hit right on the corner of the case where the front and the back come together and the case popped off in two pieces - I just put it back and all was fine.) Still, the phone is fine and I feel like it is safe in there, even if I do drop it.
No place for a strap tho. I honestly haven't seen one of those, tho there are a bunch of ones where you can clip them onto your belt.

  • Looking for MBA 13 case with strap to handhold open

Where can I find an MBA 13" case that has a strap along the back that will allow me to hold it securely while open, so that I can walk and type with one hand?

I bought a Belkin Grip Graphix from eBay, fits the iPhone 4 nice and snugly but very easy to put on and take off.

Also works great with al my Apple cables, large older ones and the new small ones, even works in all the CD player docks I have tried it in.
I have also tested this with the flash in a pitch black room and it does not affect the camera at all
I did use a cheap £3.99 gel see through case which worked great and looked nice (from eBay also), but that one badly affected long distance flash shots in very dark environments, caused the flash to reflect of the case back into the lens and caused a slight white out, it was ok close up

  • Where can I find an iPad mini case with a strap?

I am looking for a moderate-to-extremely durable case for iPad mini that can have a shoulder strap attachment. I am looking to use it as a communication device for  student with severe special needs, who would need to have access to it at all times. Some sort of protection for back and screen a must, but I will look at all options.

    Louis,
There are not many cases available at this time with a strap for iPad mini.  I am an Augmentative Communication Consultant and am very familiar with your quest.  Right now, your best option may be a Griffin Survivor, GumDrop Drop Tech or Otterbox Defender within a ChatBag.  I have a very large Pinterest site dedicated to AAC and Assisitive Technology and Special Education with a large focus on iOS apps and accessories as well as AAC supports.  You can find it here.  www.pinterest.com/lasenders  The options I just mentioned are on my board of iPad mini cases. The only other case with a strap thus far is the Sherpa Carry for iPad mini, but that is not super rugged.
    Hope that helps.

  • Recommendation for case with a clip and protection on all sides, snug fit.

I'm looking for a case with protection on all sides, with a clip, with a snug fit -- i.e., not designed for ever make / model (not one size fits all). I bought the case at the Apple store with a clip and a snap, but the top of the phone is mostly unprotected (uncovered) and I don't like the flap with the snap because it does not close correctly unless I stop what I'm doing and look at it to make sure the snap lines up (i.e., the flap has too much extra material and does not line up automatically with the snap).

Otterbox Defender case which provides excellent protection and probably the best protection of all available cases which includes a clip.

  • Will Tablet case with combined keyboard work on Lenovo Ideapad A1 07

    Hi All,
Sorry if anyone has asked before but couldn't find specific.
My wife has recently purchased a Lenovo Ideapad A1 07 for its size,  a friend who has a small android tablet also recommended to her, to buy a tablet case with combined keyboard with USB connection from amazon. When received the connection obviously doesn't fit, so I started searching around web for an adapter for it, but I’m seeing conflicting info that the ideapad either does/doesn't support USB data transfer connection point, so before buying an adapter what is correct!.
Can anyone throw some light onto whether Lenovo will update the firmware to be able to use USB at any time or has anyone have a work around. Any help and advice to get this keyboard working would be grateful as the tablet is a great little device for her.
    Gazzataf

If you are patient, go through the reviews of a specific USB keyboard that was suggested as an addition for Lenovo A1 by Amazon: You will see that even though users have tried different cables and adapters, no A1 user has managed to get this working on his tablet.
This issue may be solved by a future upgrade (if any), which will enable the USB OTG feature of the microUSB port of the A1 tablet. Until then, nothing can be done in order to have any USB device identified and working with A1. I really hope that I make a mistake here and that someone will come up with a working soultion for this issue ...

  • HT3529 my iphone just stop connecting to my wifi and i have tried all the recommended troubleshooting with no success. Also when i send a text , it shows it coming from my email address instead of my cell #. i cant get a text going to my cell #. help

my iphone just stopped connecting to my wifi and i have tried all the recommended troubleshooting with no success. Also when i send a text , it shows it coming from my email address instead of my cell #.  i dont receive any text going to my cell #. help

If i understand what you are saying then you are seeing the WiFi indicator after connecting but Apps are saying that they are not connected to the internet?
Your router may not have given your iPod a valid IP address. Go to Settings > Wifi > your network name and touch the ">" to the right to see the network details. If the IP address starts with 169 or is blank then your router didn't provide an IP address and you won't be able to access the Internet.
Sometimes the fix can be to restart your router (remove power for 30 seconds and restart). Next, reset network settings on your iPod (Settings > General > Reset > Reset network settings) and then attempt to connect. In other cases it might be necessary to update the router's firmware with the latest from the manufacturer's support web pages.
If you need more help please give more details on your network, i.e., your router make, model and version, the wifi security being used (WEP, WPA, WPA2), etc.

  • Best Cooling Tower Case With Handles

I'm trying to build a computer that will run Premiere Pro CS 5.5 and other programs.
From reading on these forums, it looks like the best options for me right now are:
    i7 2600K
    Asus Sabertooth P67
    GTX 570
    16GB Patriot 1333MHz RAM
    Windows 7 Home
500GB hard drive for the system and programs and page file
Four 1TB drives in two RAID-0 configuations
I'm probably not going to overclock right now because I don't want to be so concerned with overheating.  I may try overclocking later.
I got some prices at Fry's, which includes the Corsair 600T Tower Case.
    I have 2 questions:
    1. I read on a forum that a guy was having problems with cooling on the 600T and another person said the 20mm fans are too small, that 30mm are better.
    2. I'm also trying to find a case that has a handle (or handles) so that I can transport it easily back and forth to another location.
I've read here to stay away from the small or mini towers because they don't cool well enough and that makes sense to me.
I only saw one at Fry's that had a handle, but I can't remember the name of it.
I like the Mac Pro tower style handles.  Good and solid.
Anyone know of a case that is:
    1. Great for cooling the above configuration, and
    2. Has a handle?
Any feedback on the other componenets would be great as well.
Thanks for any help or advice.

    Flyingfish,
I can think of two pretty good possibilities for a luggable (mid or larger) case with a handle, and I'm sure there are others out there as well (Google LAN party):
Thermaltake V5 Black Edition Mid-tower Gaming Case (has nice full handle)
Any mid or full tower case + Sunbeam LAN Party Bag (includes strong straps that go around case to carry any case and keyboard using backpack style straps, shoulder strap, or a handle)
Don't scrimp on cooling, even if you do not plan on overclocking; look for a dual fan heat pipe style that will fit with whatever case you do choose. Good cooling will keep your rendering reliable and will allow for the 2600k to "turbo" (speed itself up) more effectively.
Now, regarding your component list, it looks just great! Don't forget a 850 watt p/s from a solid manufacturer. Also, skip the Corsair 600T; I brought one home I liked the design so well, then returned it when I realized the fans were not up there with the best fans and the typical high-quality replacement fans (Scythe Gentle Typhoon, etc.) do not fit without starting to drill holes, etc.

  • Case with a Keychain Fob?

Has anyone seen an Iphone case with a ring that you can attach a wallet chain to? I have already lost one Itouch and I'm terrified of losing my Iphone. I want to attach it to a chain that clicks to my beltloop: Fashionable and safe.
Any ideas about mods that might work?

I'm hoping someone will come out with one that is ideal for the video camera. Maybe with a lanyard, a tripod fitting, a handle that puts the record button in good proximity to my finger or thumb, etc.
I'd hate to have to buy an actual video camera just for these features.

  • If I want to forward an email with an attachment (data charges?)

    Hi all,
I wonder if anyone can help. I currently have a BlackBerry and use it all the time. I would like to move over to a iPhone as it is far superior at viewing attachements but there is one thing that is stopping me and I would like to know if the below is true or not.
I recieve an email on my blackberry with a 10MB attachment. I see that the attachment is large so i choose not to open the attachment as I already know what the attachment is but i want to forward the email with the attachment to my mate. i am told that if i do not download the attachment and just forward the message on the attachment is not downloaded as the file is already present on my exchange server which is great.
Now this is where I get confused. I have been told that if i do the same thing on an iPhone that the iphone must download the file in all situations to be able to be forwarded on. This obviosuly will cuase issues when abroad and would be very expensive. Is this true? I have been told from various people yes and no but is there anyone out there whos a proper teccy than knows?
    Thanks

The problem here is that the server you get the message/attachment from (where it is stored), is not necessarily the same one it get sent through.
So, the two servers would have to know about each other, and have a predefined mechanism (protocol) to transfer the message between each other, without the client having to do anything.
Apple could do this, if they hosted the mailboxes and also the sending servers, but if they have no control over whose email servers you use, there's nothing that Apple can do about it.
In the case of connecting to a Blackberry or Microsoft Exchange service, the creators of those systems have solved it, but only if you use their proprietary client protocols (if you read email from a Microsoft server using POP3 or IMPA4, and send via SMTP, then you still end up downloading the whole thing to the client device, and then uploading the whole thing again when sending).

  • Why are there no iPhone 6 battery cases with a lightning input port for charging instead of a micro USB?

Why are there no iPhone 6 battery cases with a lightning input port for charging instead of a micro USB?
Does it have something to do with the MFI certification? Is micro USB just cheaper?
I don't want to have to carry around another cable and it seems like this would be a good product. What am I missing?

    sanjaykd wrote:
    Valid point.
So can I ask why there are no MFI certified lightning female ports on battery cases? Or more so, does this certification even exist?
    And why not?
This is a user-to-user technical support forum. There is no one here from Apple to answer "why". Again, I would recommend contacting the manufacturers or use the Contact Us link at the bottom right of every page for information on how to contact Apple directly.
I suspect that manufacturers may view the more standard microUSB charging port as a selling point. Those types of cables are cheaper and ubiquitous.

  • What is the thinnest case with a belt clip?

Looking for a thin case with a belt clip for my iPhone.  Tried Otterbox Defender, but it was way too bulky and I don't need that much protection.  Any recommendations?

  • Forwarding an email on the iPhone with an attachment fails

I'm not sure when this problem started but it's been going on for at least a week or two, possibly longer. I am operating at the latest firmware version (2.1).
I do not use Mobile Me.
If I send a pdf, gif, jpg attachment in an email from my work account, for example, to my Yahoo account that works. I go to the Yahoo account email on the iPhone and read the email and view the picture.
If I FORWARD the email to another person and choose to include the attachment, the email does not get sent. I get the error, "Cannot Send Mail - An error occured while delivering this message". The forwarded email sits in the Outbox and the iPhone periodically tries to send it but it never works.
I tried deleting the Yahoo account off the iPhone and then re-adding as was stated in one discussion but this did not work.
Is this an iPhone or Yahoo problem?
    Thanks, Matt

I have the same problem with my email address. It started about a week ago. It won't forward attachments but works fine with just text. If I use my wife's Yahoo address which is a sub account of mine it works fine. Exactly the same settings in both cases.
Even tried it on a different iphone and I get the same result.
My email does work fine though through Webmail and through Mail on the Mac or Outlook.
I'm betting it must be Yahoo though.
Yahoo have been'improving' their SMTP spam protection and I don't know if it has caused something on my Yahoo account to block anything with an attachment that comes from the iphone.
I tried calling them about it and after about an hour I convinced the 'technical support guy' (term used loosely) to see if there something different between the settings on the two accounts or to see if there was a message stuck in the system somewhere causing a blockage from the iphone. That's when the call dropped off and losing the will to live, gave up on talking to them.
I did put it in e-mail and may get a response if they pass it on to a real Technical advisor.
Will post again if I have any luck!
