  • There is no audio output on my MBA in the system preferences-sound folder. Therefore no sound comes from my computer. At the same time this happened, any streaming video stopped playing after 11 seconds, as well as iTunes will not play any song. Help!?

    Hello everyone.
i have a 15" MBA circa 2011 running Lion 10.7.5 and my sound has gone, There is a no sound circle on my volume display and in system preferences sound my options for output is empty. At the same time this happened I noticed 2 things: 1) itunes would not actually play any audio track and every video i streamed stopped after a few seconds (usually 11s) but not always.
I have tried following some tips I have found online like going into MIDI and fixing the problem there, restarting in safe mode. Resetting with PRAM (or something that sounds like that).
Does anyone have any insight on this? At this point i'm thinking it's time to reload Lion but I don't really know how to go about that without losing all of my files.
    Please Help
    Thanks

  • I can't heard any sound from my computer what should I do?

Hi I'm new in this forum, can some body help me with that          ?

    Hi,
You first check if the audio is muted and try the windows troubleshooter if you are using windows 7.
    Try reloading the audio drivers.

  • HT1369 I am being told i-tunes has detected a problem with your audi configuration. Audio/Video playback may not operate properly". I HAVE CHECKED THAT  MY INTEGRATED AMPLIFIER IS WORKING WITH THE LEAD THAT HAS ALWAYS WORKED FROM THE COMPUTER.What should

I am not having any trouble with my i-pod which I can continue to connect to the computer to update. However when I get into the listen to the music on the computer I am unable to hear anything. This is also true for Spotify, and my own cd's inserted in the computer and i-player. I have connected an old Sony Discman to my amplifier and it works perfectly, so I know that the problem is not with the amplifier or the lead so it must be the computer audio.
My computer is a COMPAQ CQ 1140UK SLIMLINE DESKTOP PC.
I need to stress that I am a 65 year old non tech user. I use my computer a lot but have no idea how it works!! .
I believe that in my efforts to resolve this issue myself by going into the control panel .....I may have caused even mor problems.
At first, today, I could see that the track was playing, CURSOR MOVING ACROSS THE TRACK LINE, but I was getting no sound....now the tracks don't even seem to be playing at all!!
I remember, afew days ago seeing something flash up on Spotify about how it was going to do something with my i-tunes but it stated that it was nothing to worry about!   So I didn't, until today!!
I only used Spotify to locate a track before I purchased it through i-tunes.
If anybody could advise me of what I could do to resolve this problem then I'd be most grateful.
This is my first time on this Apple Support Community so I hope that I am right in thinking that any response will arrive in my e-mail.
    Thanks again

It might be worth trying a dxdiag to see if that finds anything amiss, michael.
Go Start > Run. In your Run, type dxdiag and hit enter.
Work through the troubleshooting tabs. Does dxdiag report any problems?

  • When i plug in my ipod to computer what should happen?

I'm trying to download a book off itunes or anything off itunes onto my ipod ( 5th gen 30gb ) when I plug in my ipod all I get is a beep from my computer, what should happen?

    Hey fink51,
When you first connect your iPod to your computer, it should automatically install the required drivers etc. You then may want to open iTunes (or configure it to open automatically every time you connect).
If your iPod is not displaying in iTunes, or Windows, we'll need to start troubleshooting. See the following resource:

  • Sound comming from two of of 5 speak

my computer uses Creative SB X-FI(or at least i think.) I dont really understand aduio that much, safe to call me a noob. I use my reci'ver as the man and use a 24 ft. cord that connects to the reci'ver and goes into an audio adapter. Basically turns the two red and white things into a one thing that goes in head phone jacks. Well in the back there are many different color things for the speakers, and then below that there are only 4,(plated in gold.) When i use creative software to detect speakers it says my rear right is my front right, and my front left is my front right, and then nothing else has sound comming from it. My computer is month old, and its probally not the computer. My speakers are 3 front sony dreamstyles and in the back i have some small logitech speakers. My reci'ver is a Sonydream syle. Every thing else works such as t.v. and video games. Please fix this its anoying to hear out of 2 speakers while listening to music =(

There're some thing which aren't clear.
To get 5. speaker sound from yer speakers, you'll need 3 cables which convert the stereo mini-plugs into 2xphono jacks. The first one is for the front left and right, the second for the rear left and right and the third is for the centre channel and subwoofer.
These are colour coded ( there should've been a sticker with yer soundcard so that the gold plated connectors can be identified ).
The plug closest to the big rectangular connector with the pin holes is for the centre/sub connection, the one next to it is the rear left/right and the one next to that is the front left and right. On the subwoofer output ( I think ) the left output is for the centre channel and the right output is for the subwoofer.
Taking one cable at a time, plug it into a jack on the soundcard and then plug the two phono plugs ( the other end of the cable ) into the corresponding inputs on the receiver.

Do you have sound coming from the audio output port using headphones?  If so, when the plug is pulled out, is there a red light?
You may need a PRAM reset:

  • XP 64 bit - 5.1 - Rear Sound comes from front Speak

    Hi,
i have upgraded from xp 32 bit to XP 64. I have a problem with my elite pro:
This card ist playing now the 5. rear sound on the both front boxes. I'm extremly frustrated because i'm trying to solve this problem since 5 Hours. I have tried a lot of drivers - the rear sound comes from the front.
    Anybody any idea ?

"You know, you could just walk behind your computer and switch the cables front and rear cables... "?Brilliant, that would make all sound come out the rears. Why didn't I think of that??I've cleaned and reinstalled, tried drivers without updates, updates without drivers, the best i can do id enable CMSS 3D and get a kind of *******ised stereo that i cam fade front to rear. I cannot get 5. separation with XFi XtremeGamer Fatalty Pro under XP64 and 4gB RAM, and it REALLY pisses me off that I accidenetally helped the OP and I'm stuck with the same issue LOL.

I am using duel thunderbolt displays with a MacBook Pro. I only have the option to have sound come from one or the other. Has anyone thought of making the left channel come from both speakers on the left Monitor and the same of the right? If yes, how is that done? The MacBook Pro could even be a center channel if configured in that order.

  • 2 ZS Platinum with Logitech 5300e- No sound comes from rear speake

I just bought a new 2 ZS Platinum sound card and I use fairly new Logitech 5300e 5. speakers but no matter what I am playing, no sound comes from the rear speakers. However everythingh sounds fine in the front left, center and front right. As most posts on this board would suggest....yes, all speakers are securely connected and the switch on the back of the subwoofer is set to 5.. Windows control panel is set to 5., and so is everything else that asks. Im pretty sure I installed it correctly because the card shows up and I can hear good sound but only from the front. I read somewhere that I still needed a codec called ac3 so I downloaded it but there is still no sound. I updated the card with the latest driver which looks like was released in 2005. Is there ANY way to get real 5. sound? Do I need to purchase something else, a new codec? Any help will be appreciated. Thank you!

Does the speaker test work in 5. channel mode? If it doesn't then it would like the X-Fi's lost the centre channel.
In that case you can try unplugging your speakers, changing into 2.0 mode plugging them back in and then changing to 5. channel mode and just fiddling about. 'tis a common problem with the X-Fi on a fresh install to lose or merge channels. There's no fix for it but to fiddle with the speaker/THX console settings and to plug and unplug stuff until the X-Fi decides to route stuff properly.

  • 1st job of the day has to come from local computer

I've bought and installed a Laserjet M125a by usb cable in a windows 7 64 bit computer at my office. I've shared the printer with other computers (XP, 7, 32 and 64 bit) through our LAN (cable and wireless).
Everyday, when we turn everything on in the morning, we can't print from any computer in the LAN. The 1st print job of the day has to come from the computer to which the printer is connected via usb cable. After that 1st print, the other computers in the LAN are able to print.
I have already uninstalled, reinstalled, unshared and reshared it on all computers, but nothing fixed the issue.
    Any ideas?
    (Sorry for the broken english!)

What if she waits another 5 minutes? I suspect some autostart stuff is still loading in the backgrund and slowing the start down.

  • Satellite A200 - crackling sound comes from the HDD

    Hi
I have Satellite A200. When I start my notebook the crackling sound comes from the hard disc.
Does anyone know something about this?
    Thanks
    Vikas

In my opinion its nothing wrong with your HDD.
My HDD clicks everytime while accessing any data on the notebook and everything run ok since 3 years.
But this doesnt mean that there is no hardware problem with your HDD. Generally its not easy to say when an HDD wound starts to malfunction. My first HDD died after 6 years of usage. But the other HDD died after 1.5 years. This damage was covered by warranty.
Finally I would recommend backup your data always on an external HDD to prevent the data from damage.
    Bye
