A second Ipod mini in the house

I just purchased a second Ipod Mini and want to move everything from the first unit the the second. Can't figure out how to make it happen.
Please help.

Assuming that the music is no longer in iTunes (which is a very bad idea), use the options from this link to get it back from the first iPod.

Once it's in iTunes, simply sync the second iPod as normal.

  • Can I use a Ipod Mini with the Nike running chip?!

I'm looking at buying a Ipod Mini, but I was told that it might not work with the chip in my running shoes from Nike! Is there anyone who knows if this is true or not!!

Can I use a Ipod Mini with the Nike running chip?!
No. Only the iPod nanos and the second generation iPod touch are compatible with it.

  • I've lost my ipod touch in the house. How do I track it?

I've lost my ipod touch in the house. How do I track it?

    - If you previously turned on FIndMyiPod on the iPod in Settings>iCloud and wifi is on and connected go to iCloud: Find My iPhone, sign in and go to FIndMyiPhone.
You can also wipe/erase the iPod and have the iPod play a sound via iCloud
    - If connect to wif yo can also activave an app on the iPod that will play a notification sounds.
    - Otherwise you will have to use the old fashioned way, like if you lost a wallet or purse.

No. If it is offline then there is no way to find it on the web. The device must respond in order to be located.

  • I have an old ipod mini and the screen was broken, can it still be repaired?

i have an old ipod mini and the screen was broken, can it still be repaired?

Yes.  You can choose to have it repaired by Apple or a 3rd party repair company.  Here are Apple's repair qutoes.

A simple Google search for iPod Mini screen repair should give you a number of results. Here is one option.

And kudos to still using an iPod Mini.

  • Using iPod Mini in the car!

My boyfriend just got a new car and I want to get him something so he can use his iPod in the car. We used the tape adaptor in his old car, it wouldnt okay but he wants something better.
He is intrested in the iTrip but I have heard that it doesn't work that well. I want to know what you guys think - I am not looking for the cheapest solution. I want good quailty at a fairly reasonable price.
I see there are new iTrips with an LCD however they wont fit 'right' on the mini, they will work but will sit off center. There is another one coming out that uses the dock connector but then you can not charge it and listen at the same time.
I did find this on the apple site
    http://store.apple.com/1-800-MY-APPLE/WebObjects/canadastore.woa/70609/wo/cO2Xen orCQg32EU4hVM1tg9vqQG/2.SLID?mco=EF8F05F6&nplm=TC100LL%2FA
and it will fit nicely on top of the mini.
Anyway, any input would be nice!

b Various Methods to Connect to a Car Stereo System, or Listen to Your iPod in the Vehicle
    b Best:
Direct connection via the dock connector or headphone jack of your iPod, to the mini-jack input (or AUX RCA input jacks) of your car stereo. Not many low/moderate-end cars have this feature yet, but it is becoming more popular. Some aftermarket auto stereo units may have this feature.
There are also some after-market, moderate to fairly expensive direct interfaces, that hook into your existing car stereo to provide a high-quality, direct connection. Most will also power/charge the iPod. Pretty slick, but can be pricey ($80-$300). If money is no object, a clean way to go. Not very portable from car to car – if at all.

    b Better:
Connect your iPod to a cassette adaptor and play your tunes through your car's cassette player. Some new cars no longer come with a cassette player, so it may not be an option. It will provide even better audio quality if you can run the audio feed out of the dock connector (see the SendStation link below). Can be portable between cars that have a cassette player and also be used in your home cassette system.
    b Good:
Attach an FM transmitter to your iPod and play the tunes through an unused FM station. Convenient, but wireless FM transmitter signals are susceptible to static and outside interference, and can vary in strength and quality depending on your location. Some noticeable degradation and distortion, depending on the quality of the transmitter, the sensitivity of your ears and the airwave congestion in your area. Highly portable between cars, and may be used in a home system. FM transmitters that need to be plugged into a DC auto jack may not work in a home environment (without some sort of adaptor).
    b Marginal:
Attach an external speaker system to the iPod and play it in the car. Workable, but not too good - unless you spring for a $300+ Bose (or similar) system. But why? Only if your vehicle has no Stereo system, perhaps.
    b Brave Techno-Geek:
This site gives some direction on adapting your own car stereo by yourself: http://www.whatsmyip.org/ipodrx8/ . Risky, but it has been successful.
Whichever you choose, power the iPod through your car’s DC power -- either from a power adapter, or as part of the combined audio adaptor. Have a method to secure the iPod to the dash/console/etc. See the reviews for all the various accessories at the iLounge
You will also get better audio output if the dock connection plug is used, rather than the headphone jack. See this URL for a novel adaptor: https://www.sendstation.com/us/products/pd_lousb.html. Others types are also available via this site.
I have read positive and negative reviews of each method, and within method there are great variations in performance of different manufacture's systems – and peoples’ opinions of their performance. Some cassette adaptors/FM transmitters work poorly, some better.
FWIW: I have the iTrip Mini & the Newer Technology RoadTrip!+ FM transmitters, a Belkin cassette adaptor (used both with & w/out the PocketDock) and two vehicles with the BlitzSafe direct interface. Using the same song in the same car, I found that the FM transmitters worked, but not as good as the cassette adapter via the headphone jack. Using the PocketDock on the cassette adapter resulted in a significant audio quality improvement. As expected, the Blitzsafe direct connect was exceptionally better than everything else: less tinny, a more warmer/richer sound, and close to true CD quality.

  • Ipod mini and the new itunes

I just downloaded the new itunes 7.0 or whatever it is and it totally messed up my ipod mini. I don't know if it was just the settings or what. Before I downloaded this i had all of my setting set so that i would manually move songs onto my ipod and I used it as a hard drive. After i downloaded it almost most of my songs stopped working. There is just an exclamiation point with a circle to the left of the songs and they will not play at all. Is there a setting i need to changed back because this totally *****.

  • Two ipod minis on the same network

I am trying to sync my ipod mini but it keeps taking me to my brother's library and online setup. We are on the same network. How do I get back to mine?

No. It seems like when I upgraded to the new iPod software it erased my library. He took off sharing so I don't go to his library anymore, but now all my songs are gone. I am on a PC...

  • Linking an ipod mini without the disc....

Hi, I have a 4GB Ipod Mini that I have owned for a couple of years now. I have a new computer and want to link the Ipod to it but I can't find the disc that came with the Ipod. Is there any way to download a driver for the Ipod?
    Any suggestions gratefully received!

You just need to download iTunes from the Apple website. The original discs that came with iPods contained a copy of the version of iTunes available at the time, an iPod Software Updater (which is now integrated with iTunes so is redundant) and a manual.

  • Using Ac Charger from iPOD mini on the Video iPOD would it work??

    It won't damage it.

  • I cant fing my ipod, its in the house,is there anyway i can locate it from cumputor?? lol long shot

ok try again, i cant find my ipod touch, its in my house, is there any way i can locate it using my computor????i know its a long shot, but if i dont ask i wont know...

It might be possible if you had the Find My iPod Touch app installed on it.  If it's a 4G iPod Touch, you could try calling yourself via FaceTime if you had that set up as well.  If the volume is up high enough or you are close enough in proximity, you might be able to hear it.
Otherwise, there really aren't any other ways of using your computer to help locate it.  Sorry.

  • TS3376 I can't find my ipod touch in the house. I don't have the serial number.

Is there a way to locate this ipod touch?

Find My iPod had to be activated on your device before you lost it in order to locate it using Find My iPhone on icloud.com.  But even if you did, the location accuracy isn't going to show you where it is inside your house, it would only show you that it at your home address (at best).
Having the serial number isn't going to help you locate it, but if you've ever backed it up in iTunes you can go to iTunes>Preferences>Devices and hover your mouse over the name of your backup to get a pop-up showing you the serial number.

  • How do I sync a second iPod touch to the same computer?

I just bought a 2nd gen for my son and need to sync it to the computer that has my daughter's 1st gen itouch on it. Last time I tried it wiped her itouch clean and put everything on his.

    Hello Orlosky,
    And welcome to Apple Discussions!
Not sure as to how that happened, because there is no limit to how many devices you can sync to one computer. To sync to the 2nd iPod, simply hook it up, go through the registration and setup process, and then sync away.
There are several ways of managing multiple iPods with one computer. I think your best option would be to check out this Apple support document. Hope it helps.
