A short movie I made with NOKIA 6280 (+edit)

Although I'm devoted to my HV20, this is a short video which i made for a course, in which i dropped my NOKIA 6280 from the roof (5th floor), and made it like someone is gonna jump with the cell-phone.

One of the purpose of the exercise is to get as much views as we can, so I will appreciate if you will click the link (and even vote).
And of course you're all welcome to watch the rest of the channel in youtube or watch the better quality vimeo homepage: http://vimeo.com/user392835/videos

You need to convert the VOB files in the TS-Folder of the DVD back to DV which iMovie is designed to handle. For that you need mpegStreamclip:
http://www.squared5.com/svideo/mpeg-streamclip-mac.html
which is free, but you must also have the  Apple mpeg2 plugin :
http://www.apple.com/quicktime/mpeg2/
(unless you are running Lion in which case see below))
which is a mere $20.
Another possibility is to use DVDxDV:
http://www.dvdxdv.com/NewFolderLookSite/Products/DVDxDV.overview.htm
which costs $25.
For the benefit of others who may read this thread:
Obviously the foregoing only applies to DVDs you have made yourself, or other home-made DVDs that have been given to you. It will NOT work on copy-protected commercial DVDs, which in any case would be illegal.

If you are running Lion:
From the MPEG Streamclip homepage
The installer of the MPEG-2 Playback Component may refuse to install the component in Lion. Apple states the component is unnecessary in Lion, however MPEG Streamclip still needs it.
To install the component in Lion, please download MPEG Streamclip 1.9.3b7 beta above; inside the disk image you will find the Utility MPEG2 Component Lion: use it to install the MPEG-2 Playback Component in Lion. The original installer's disk image (QuickTimeMPEG2.dmg) is required.
The current versions of MPEG Streamclip cannot take advantage of the built-in MPEG-2 functionality of Lion. For MPEG-2 files you still need to install the QuickTime MPEG-2 Playback Component, which is not preinstalled in Lion. You don't have to install QuickTime 7.

Trying to import a .mov file made with gotomeeting - no problems in past doing this. After 3 attempts recording the hour long video and trying to upload it to iMovie, it says No importable files -None of the selected files or folders can be imported. Change the selection and try again. What could the reason be?

After much research and troubleshooting, GoToMeeting replied with the final answer: We do not support the uploading of recordings to editing software. If you are having issues uploading a recording, unfortunately, we do not have tools or steps to resolve this. It is not a supported feature. I am sorry for any inconvenience this may have caused you.
The no longer plan to support editing of recordings made with their software.  So, we are planning to find a new meeting provider.

  • Import movie files made with (pro)consumer camera

As expected there is no way to import and manage those little movies (.mov or .avi) made with a (pro)consumer camera.
For example when you are on holiday and shoot a little movie between making your photos.
Now I use Foto Album Pro to manage 15.000 pics AND movies AND panorama's (bigger then 10.000 pixels) and they support movies and I can see a (selected) thumbnail of the movie so I see that thumbnail (with data and keywords) between all my photos. Perfect!!!
    But.....
Now I am going to switch to LR (because of the editing capabilities and other modules) and beside that I CAN'T import my +/- 300 panoramas and also CAN'T import (just for managing not anything else) my avi's and mov's. Uffffffff.
    But I keep smiling:-)

LR is perfect for me:-).. I mean in 2007 and later:-)..but in the early days I made photos with Powershot G5 and took movies as well..since 2005 I have a Canon EOS350D and good (L) glass.
I just want all my "image based media files" to be managed in one library, in one program. Not more...shouldn't be so difficult?
FotoAlbum Pro is better in managing then LR at this moment and I use it in combination with PSE 3.0. I switch to LR because of the "batch/actions" possibilities in LR wich I dont have in PSE. So i wished LR is the only thing I will need to manage and edit my image based files.

  • How to convert a quick time movie I made with my Nikon D7000 to a mpg file so I can send it out by whatsapp

I am using windows and the program i have is adobe premiere elements 11

    daphne and paul
What still and video formats does Whatsapp support? I ask because I am wondering why you want to convert from .mov to .mpg?
If you need to a file with MPEG2 video compression with the .mpg file extension, in Premiere Elements 11 you would go to Publish+Share/Computer/
MPEG and, for Presets, select one that matches your requirements.
I have gone to Whatsapp web pages and see nothing about formats - - I do see mention of sending as attachments and a 16 MB limit for each video sent.
Is the file size limit what you are trying to address by using a .mpg instead of a .mov file? If this product supports .wmv files, you will get your smaller file size
with the file as .wmv....in Premiere Elements 11, Publish+Share/Computer/Windows Media and then set Presets (regular or Advanced settings) to match
    the file requirements.
We can fine tune the above with more information about the product and your sharing goals.
    Thanks.

  • How can I watch an old .mov file made with adobe in 2002? (on PC)

I can get it to play some video, then it goes blank, and I can hear the audio only.  I think the file might have flash, but my quicktime does not have that option in the advanced settings.  Please help, The file was part of a college project in 2002 and I need to be able to access it ...???
    I already tried VCL

I’m pretty sure Adobe NEVER intended for someone to copy an XMP file from one photo to another outside of LR as a way to replicate settings.   You can make a preset from a photo, as discussed, or if you don’t want to do that, copy-paste the settings from a representative photo that you initially select to one or more new photos.  You could have a special LR folder that holds standard photos to copy/paste from.  Of course creating a Develop preset from the representative photo is the “normal” way to handle such situations, but maybe you have hundreds of different situations to copy settings from and don’t want to create presets for each one, but I’d argue that you could create a complex folder hierarchy for your presets and still have them findable without that much problem.
As far as the mystery about why some photos show Reset and some show From Metadata, is the Process Version (down in Camera Calibration) of the photo before reading the settings the same between the two situations?  And in general, are these virgin photos newly imported into LR or have some been modified in LR, already?  Does an XMP file already exist for any of these, where that XMP is being overwritten by your external-to-LR copying?  Or do you have auto-write-XMP enabled and your hand-copied XMP is getting overwritten by LR, automatically, before you have a chance to read in anything?

  • Move to Aperture with lots of "edited" photos

As I have 60,000+ photos in iPhoto, and I found that there is a "Modified" folder which carries lots of so-called "editied" photos. When I took a portrait photo, iPhoto will automatically keep two copies of photo (one is edited portrait while the other one is landscape). It eats up my HDD space very much.
So if I move to Aperture, the new photo will not be kept for two copies, right? But how about the existing photos? Will those "editied" photos be there as a separate copies? Or just like what Aperture do, keep the variation only?
    Thanks.

That will depend on the way how you import into Aperture and on your current iPhoto version. If import with "File -> Import -> iPhoto Library", not from the iPhot Browser, and if you have the most recent iPhoto version and upgraded your iPhoto Library, then Aperture 3.2.2 will recognize many of the edited versions and create "version - master" pairs, like for new imported images.
The edited images it can not import this way will be imported as two masters and stacked, so you can delete the master you do not want. Also all images will be tagged with keywords.

  • Change name to an app made with DPS Professional Edition

    Hi all,
my customer just told me that they are changing the name of their magazines from "Passion Hub" to "Passionhub Megazine", does this change need some procedures or is just an upgrade in AppStore with iTunes Connect?
The app has been published to the app store already and they do not want to loose the people that have already downloaded the app and folios.
I apologize for my bad english.
Thanks in advance for your reply.
    Best regards.
    Michela

I see the name change has already occurred. It should only be a case of submitting a new version in iTunes Connect.
As long as it's using the same App ID, then the customer won't be affected.

  • Exporting movie made with bitmaps - problem

    Hey mates,
Its REALLY important ill get it done in the next 8 hours, i need to present this somewhere.
so ill really appreciate a quick solution if possible...
i made a scene in a 3d software, and rendered the whole scene to bitmaps frame by frame,
i then imported all these frames to premiere
and when i export it and try to make it a movie,
it plays but when there is motion the frames get stuck and the video keeps playing, as if half the frame of one of the bitmaps got stuck, and the rest is playing or something...
i dont use much premiere and my knowledge in it is really limited.
the movie is made up of 9022 frames, including sound,
the bitmaps are in a resolution of 1024 on 764
so my export res is the same...
is it a problem with the compressor i choose? there are so many, and tbh i have NO idea what each one means, except for divx, and AVI etc
but there are settings for frame rate, and pixel aspect ratio and even bit depth and fields, and i dont know what are the settings best used in my situation of exporting bitmaps... or maybe its not even the settings? no idea...
if anyone can help, PLEASE help me solve this issue, i'm criticaly short on time, i HAVE to present this work today...
    p.s
When i exported to uncompressed AVI it was a file of 24GB and it refused to play, the player(s) said its an unknown or unsupported filetype,
and i have zillion of codecs already, i doubt its the problem.
    thanks in advance
    Avi H

    Hello olemus,
Thanks for using Apple Support Communities.
To add music to your iMovie project please follow the steps below.  Please note that you cannot do this in Theater, as you will need to be back in the Library portion of iMovie to do any editing.

HOW CAN I DOWNLOAD AND VIEW THE MOVIES I HAVE MADE WITH MY SONY CAMCORDER HDR-XR550VE?

Thanks for being so helpful. I chased up the web-link but was not sure it would work with .cpi, so didn't opt to buy it.
Then I went on to the Sony support page and found this - which works fine, and has very clear instructions.

  • How to export a short  film made with still images without loosing quality?

    Hi,
I have been trying everything to make a short film, which is made with still images, to look decent once exported however it is a real challenge. Here are the steps I have undertaken:
1- I prepare the photographs and give them the aspect ration of 720p and whatever height as I try not to crop them too much at 300dpi. They look great in photoshop or capture one. I then save them as.tiff. All the images are RGB.
2- I start a new project in premiere pro cs4 and make it DV Pal 25fps.
3-I import the images and place them on the timeline. If they are a bit too big I rescale them. The images seem to look ok on the timeline although I seem to have lost the deepness of the colours.
    4-I render the work area
5-I export it as quicktime, dv pal, quality 100.
My dilemna is that although exporting with quicktime, dv pal, quality 100 seems to give me the best quality compared to using quicktime animation, mpeg2, cinemak, avi..., the images are still not as sharp as in Photoshop and the colours look a lot paler and washed out. Also, when looking close to the screens you can see tiny squares on the images although from distance it's not too bad. When I view it from the exported file using Nero it's not too bad although definitely not perfect, as soon as I try to make a DVD and import it in Adobe Encore CS4 or send it by Dynamic Link, the quality looks horrible with images that look soft if not blurred and completely washed out.
I have now tried about t bu15 versions to see what 's the best I still have not reached the optimum quality and since these will be shown on big tvs or projected onto screens I need to nail it.
Would anybody have any advice please please please?
    Many Thanks

My overall advice is to do that kind of work in an application that is designed for that.  Give Photodex Proshow Producer trial a crack at it.  I do a lot of work with stills, and that IMO PSP is the best approach.  If you are intermixing the odd still, Pr may get you by.  If you plan on doing a lot of that, try proshow, where the workflow and extensive features are designed for making high quality videos from stills that can be output to a wide number of formats and destinations, including color management with many of them( including avi).  And, no need to resize.  I know this won't solve your present problem.
Obviously, your attempt in Pr has not worked out as you had hoped. Maybe a bit more info would help. How are you rescaling them in Pr? That might well account for some quality loss. What is the original format and size of the images? What color management are you using in PS? Are you using any color correction or effects in Pr? Is your project interlaced or progressive?
From your description,  you are not even getting the quality you should be getting from Pr IMO, though as Jim says, it is video and it will never look as pristine as it does in PS, but it still seems to me that something you are doing has degraded the work more than normally would be expected.

The camera connection kit can only be used to import photo/video files from a camera, SD card or USB flash drive. You can't import other types of files. You can't export any type of files using the camera connection kit.
