A simple document management solution

I am creating an application for Sales where they are entering Customers data. Now they want to be able to attach customer documents: Web links, emailed manuals (PDFs, Excels, Words) and other documents. Is there anything available that can be implemented into Flex?
Thanks

There is not a simple scripting solution because a brush stroke can be scripted directly. I can think of several workarounds, two of which jacobolus has already suggested.
A new suggestion would be to try creating a path and then stoke the path with your brush. If that looks like you want it a script could then move the path 6 pixels and stroke it again. This has the advantage of not needing to create new layers and merge so should be faster. The disadvantage is the stoked path may not look the way you want.
If that doesn't work or you don't like that approach, I agree with the setting the spacing as a percentage of the brush size. All the stokes are made at one time and your done.
If you don't like that one need to do this more that once I would suggest that instead of merging down after each dupe you create an action that dupe the brush layer and moves it six pixels. The create another action that play the dupe'n'move action as many times as you need. You can also add your choice of how to merge to that last action if wanted.

  • I need a new document management solution. Needs to be very simple.

I have been tasked with finding our company a new document management solution. It should be very bare bone so that we can incorporate it into our existing in-house software. It should have a dynamic framework and we would prefer to have the scanned document stored in SQL, but having a pointer record is fine. I have no idea where to go with this. Any thoughts?
    Thanks.

    Welcome to the Apple community.
If you are doing this from your phone (as you mention) then you can use the new iPhoto Photo Journal feature to do this.
Unfortunately, iCloud does not offer equivalents to Mobile Me’s iDisk, Gallery or Web Hosting services. You will need to find a third party solution to replace these services. You might consider DropBox, SugarSync, MediaFire or any other service that offers online storage.

  • Comparision between SAP Easy Document Management and MOSS2007

    Hi,
Could anyone please guide what are the differet features available in SAP EASY DOCUMENT MANAGEMENT solution which are not present in MOSS2007.

    hi,
Acually speeking yes all product have their own advantage and dis advantages also. but alsways but as consultant, we could refeiring Edms, coz,
The types of documents range from "documents" in proprietary SAP format typically stored in the SAP database (such as financial documents, purchase orders, closed master records) to documents usually created, viewed and/or edited by applications other than SAP, though they may have some significance or bearing on business processes within the SAP system
itself (for example, technical drawings referenced from bill of materials stored in the SAP database).
Also, we could use external content server to store enormose data  with out affecting the performance. also her we could extend[scale up] Content server.
this is like similar to Windows, user need not know full SAP. even though can work EDMS.
By using EDMS, we can integrate to Logisic  [SAP] copmonents.
Also by Interfacing with, third party applction software like Acad, UG, Lous note........etc

  • Document Management and Workflow Packages

    Hello SAP Community,
My company is considering a document management solution integrated with a work flow package in regards to automating and providing visibility into our entire account payable process. I was wondering if anyone out there has implemented such a solution, how long it took to implement and what the licensing costs were. I am aware of the many packages out there available from SAP certified partners, and I was just wondering if anyone could give me real world insight into their experience with implementing a document management / work flow solution.
    Best Regards,
    HK

    Hi Husein,
I appreciate your interest in procuring a Document Management/Workflow solution for your AP department...its a very smart move toward streamling that process!
I sent an email today to Richard Braddock about our solutions. I would be happy to discuss them with you.

  • Document management for HR

    Hello,
I have a requirement to attach a couple of documents for each employees at my client. Those document should then be made available on SAP Portal. I know there exists some SAP solutions for document management (DMS, ArchiveLink) but I have no experience with that. Can you please advice what is the best/latest solution? How should I get started?
    Thanks!

    Hi Julien,
One solution I am aware of is SAP Employee File Management by OpenText (don't say it with your mouth full!), or SAP EFM for short.
It's an integrated document management solution that runs from the backend and from the Portal. I've seen a click demo of it but not the real thing. It looks like a good solution, hence why SAP picked up on it.
    Some links below for info:

  • Document Management App that runs on OS X Server?

I need a CMS or EDMS application (for document management) that runs on the mini-mac server.  Others will access via browser.
Thin-client application. Similar to DocuWare or OnBase or IBM Content Manager, but APPLE FRIENDLY!!!!!
    Many thanks - [email protected]

Devonthink Pro Office is a Mac compatible document management solution. Most people would use the full-blown Mac application to access it but it also provides a web-interface which can also be used by PCs as well as Macs.
    See http://www.devontechnologies.com/products/devonthink/devonthink-pro-office.html
Try the demo version and see what you think.

  • Document management plugin available for Reader?

We use PDF documents exclusively in our work setting. In order to manage our work and work-processes more efficiently, we require a document management solution. The best plugins would allow one to categorize, search, retrieve and enforce access controls for files. Is there such a plugin available for Reader?

  • PLM Standalone document management

    Hi,
Has anyone implemented SAP PLM as a standalone document management solution? We are considering migrating from another doc mgmt system, but may not have budget to do a full ERP (ECC6) implementation at the same time.
    Thanks
    Dave

    Hi Jennifer
I'd suggest you try get a DMS consultant in, even if its only for a blueprint confirmation or for some basic help on the implementation, SAP DMS is technically not a difficult module to implement but matching the business processes to the system is a little harder. Its also good because often things don't work quite as well in theory as they do in practice, and with the work required to migrate documents to a DMS, its not the sort of thing you want to do again. There are also a number of standard enhancements you should always add to SAP DMS for specific scenarios and without a history of working with SAP DMS, you wouldn't be aware of without a history with SAP DMS (SAP doesn't automatically supersede old versions of documents for example) so although it may seem like a lot of work to put these enhancements in place, its this exact flexibility that allows SAP DMS to be so good.
In my experience, there are very few bad document management systems, but lots of bad document management implementations.
If you want to play around with it, have a go, there are a number of config guides and blueprints floating around SDN.

  • How to maintain a common document in solution manager

    Gurus ,
we are in the process of configuring service desk . One major type of support message we receive is user creation /modification .
currently we maintain these details in an common  excel sheet .  if a new  requirement is made they take the latest modified excel sheet and mark the changes in them .
But now what we need in , we need to maintain this document is solution manager server .
and the users can access the document , make changes , save it and upload it back to the server .
any of you have any suggestions on implementing the same

    Hello Susin,
User Creation / Deletion / Modification is a Change in the system. It cannot be handled via a standard central document like a Excel on a datshare.
Solution Manager is not a content repository to be used for storing such documents. There is no way that you can acheive it as a standard process.
Probably what you can do is as follows :
    - Create a table structure in Solution Manager and assign it colums as needed.
    - Then write a ABAP Code to access and maintain this table Structure.
    - Assign a transaction code to the ABAP Code so that it can be accessed by different users.
I hope that the reply helps.
    Regards
    Amit

  • Document Management in SAP Solution Manager

    Hi All,
I would like to know If you are using SAP Solution Manager as a central tool for overall Documentation Management?
Could you please share some information about your solution?
    Many thanks.

    Hi Ridouan,
For this i suggest two options:
*Use Template Projects to manage templates:

*Use Solutions to re-use some structures:

  • Download of multiple documents from Solution Manager

Is there a way to download multiple documents from Solution Manager SOLAR01 project documentation tabs from multiple nodes rather than going one by one?

    Hi,
At the application there is no such functionality but I belive if you try to download it directly from knowledge warehouse, you'll be able. You'll just need to pay attention to which folder is stored the documents. For this check the wiki page for documents in solar01 and solar02.
