A Simple Problem Which Just Can't Be Fixed... Please HELP!
Hi,
I have absolutely no problems in designing up DVD's in DVDSP, mine is a very simple one and happens everytime I design a DVD...
Some have said it's to do with the DVD player settings, but i find that hard to believe because it doesn't happen on DVD's I hire...
The problem is this. Whenever "STOP" is pushed while my DVD is sitting on the "Main Menu", no matter how many times stop is pressed if play is pressed again it automatically starts to play the first track... This happens with all the DVD's i create. If the player is turned off and on it goes back to the menu and everything works fine... Surely there must be a way to fix this? It does't happen on DVD's I hire...

The old Stop-Stop-Play technique is a bit of a shortcut to the main content of a DVD depending on how its authored - and it seems to work on some DVD players and not others.
Basically, what ever track is listed as Track 1 in your DVDSP outline view will be the target of this technique. The way to prevent it from happening is to make Track 1 a 1 sec video of black with all the UOPs disabled that end jumps to your main menu. That way if the viewer tries to short cut to your content they are taken straight back to the menu without passing GO.

To many people, this might sound like a Joke when i say Firefox can't play any video on Yahoo News on any Windows 8 Laptop Touchcreen, but trust me, I have tried everything; re-downloading Java, Flash-player, Adobe...etc, I even called Microsoft Support and my Computer company but they all said this is Firefox drama they should be able to fix the issue. Is this the problem where it shows the loading icon (circling, circling) but never starts playing? Other users have reported that as well.
This is some standard guidance that addresses the most common issues with the Flash player plugin. I'm sure you've seen some of it before, but just in case:
(1) Make sure all recorders/downloaders that interact with Flash media are as up-to-date as possible, or disable them.
(2) Disable hardware graphics acceleration in Firefox and in Flash
(A) In Firefox, un-check the box here and restart:
orange Firefox button (or Tools menu) > Options > Advanced > General > "Use hardware acceleration when available"

(3) Disable protected mode (Windows Vista/7/8)

Since you mentioned touch, does it matter whether you interact with the player using the mouse or your finger? -
have a real problem i just can't make a reservation and this is the only way to contact apple . It seams to keep going to the american site .

If this is regarding your information line that says a stolen iPhone, Apple can do nothing to help you. You must track the iPhone yourself using iCloud and must have turned on Settings > iCloud > Find My Phone before it was stolen. If that was not done, there is no way to track the iPhone.
Report the theft to the police and the cell service provider and ask if they can blacklist the iPhone so it cannot be used. Change all passwords associated with acconts on the iPhone. -
Hello MacHeads: I downloaded Handbrake 0.9.1 for Tiger, so I can upload a homemade DVD for editing in imovie. Problem is I can't even access Handbrake Help book, because I think my firewall settings are preventing me. I tried turning off all my firewall settings.? IDK if I'm even doing that right. Can anyone help out here?
You don't need Handbrake for that if it is your own DVD.
You need to convert the VOB files in the TS-Folder of the DVD back to DV which iMovie is designed to handle.
a DVD is in a compresed format called mpeg2, which is standard across all DVDs. This is what is known as a 'final delivery format' and is not suitable for editing. Because is is compressed, a 4.7GB DVD can hold a two hour movie (dual layer DVDs twice that), whereas the DV stream from a video camera, which runs at about 13GB per hour, is not compressed and IS intended for editing.
In other words you have to 'reverse engineer' the DVD back to an uncompressed format in ordfer to edit it. There is a penalty for doing this in terms of slight quality loss, but it is one you can live with.
When you have your DVD as an icon on your desktop, double-click it, and it will open to reveal a TS-Folder containing a number of various files, some called VOB. These are the constituent parts of any video DVD.
When you have downloaded and installed mpegStreamclip, and purchased and installed the Apple mpeg2 plugin, open mpegStreamclip and drag the entire TS Folder into its window. Then using the various menus available to you (just explore them and you will get the hang of it) ask it to convert to DV.
That DV file, which will be many times larger than the original TS Folder, and which can a while to create (be patient - make coffee or prune the roses!) is what you can now import into iMovie for editing etc.
When you have finished doing that, you then have to turn the project back into a DVD.

For the benefit of others who may read this thread:
Obviously the foregoing only applies to DVDs you have made yourself, or other home-made DVDs that have been given to you. It will NOT work on copy-protected commercial DVDs, which in any case would be illegal. -
I am trying to sync my songs in iTunes to my iphone4S, its running on IOS 7.3( the recent update) it just does not sync. I can see the songs in my library but they just don't transfer. Please help!

Try to reset it. just press hold the on/off botton (ignore the red slider) just hold it then the ipad is automatically reset. dont worry about your file, there nothing happen to it. Godbless.

Logging into itunes Store - Failed
Logging into iTunes Genius - SUCCESS I woulnd't have thought it would make a difference but it does Then just log into the 'other' services with iTunes.

Im having major problems syncing my iphone 4 to itunes, this problem started after upgrading to ios 5. I have upgraded my itunes, turned sync by wifi on and off but still nothing. Everytime I try to sync my iphone it just says sync cancelled. Please help.....

Hi, when you say you have tried everything... I presume you have gone into Settings > Store and logged out and back in with your account details?
You could try purchasing an app via iTunes to see if its an issue with the device or the account you're using.

The iphone is not a storage/backup device. The sync is one way - computer to iphone. The only exception is itunes purchases. File>Devices>Transfer Purchases

Close all open apps by double-tapping the home button, then swiping up and off the screen with the app window (not the smaller icon).
Reset your device: hold down the home button along with the sleep/wake button until the screen goes black and you see the Apple, then let go. (No data loss) -
I just opened up my MacBook Pro after a few days of not using it and it was frozen. I turned it off and back on and all I see is a white screen, there was a file with a question mark flashing for a bit but I can't do anything, please help me!!

you have a 13-inch Mid 2012 MacBook Pro. It’s modern enough that it supports booting into Recovery mode. To do so, hold down a Command key and the R key as you start up. It should eventually show a Mac OS X Utilities menu. Select Disk Utility from that menu; when the Disk Utility window appears, select the bootable volume from the left-hand side of the window. (It’s typically called “Macintosh HD”.) When the volume is selected, some buttons will appear on the right-hand side. If it’s not greyed out, press the Verify Disk button; if it is greyed out, or if it reports on errors that it found, press the Repair Disk button. Once the verification/repair is completed, exit Disk Utility and select Restart from the Apple menu; that will restart your MacBook Pro in its normal mode. With luck, that will be enough to get you to your normal login screen, rather than the white screen. -

- Try on another computer/network
- Wait if it is an Apple problem
