    Hi,
Some "movies' are actually Flash files.
This means the Flash App will play them (possibly in a browser in some cases).
Depending where this item is and how it is playing it may be effected by other things
A web page can include javascript.
Apple uses javascript here to help with creating the posting box, the Edit options, Adding pics/smilies and the like.
Sometimes the javascript can be what is called a runaway process and gets sort of stuck in an endless loop.
If it is a free standing item then it might be triggered by AppleScript on the Mac. (or be modified in some way)
Again if the Script (normally written with a upper case S) is not perfect it can cause problems.

  • Receive error: "A script in this movie is causing Adobe Flash Player to run slowly..." Firefox problem? Adobe problem? Malware?

While browsing a variety of site, while running no movies at all, I receive the following message:"A script in this movie is causing Adobe Flash Player to run slowly. If it continues to run, your computer may become unresponsive. Do you want to abort the script?" I click "ok", error message disappears. minutes later, error message re-appears.
I've removed Adobe Flash, cleaned registry, rebooted, all to no avail.

Start Firefox in <u>[[Safe Mode|Safe Mode]]</u> to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance).

  • A script in this movie is causing Macromedia Flash Player to run slowly

    Hello,
I am creating a Flash application with Flash 8 and testing it
in FP8. The application hanldes a lot of XML data and it is about
sending and receiving a lot of http messages or socket messages
(SocketXML). All of these data do not exceed 5-10 KB in size.
When testing the application from the Flash IDE or debugging
    it, there is no problem.
On the other hand, when I try to play the .swf or the .exe
file, the application hangs when I try to load a new movie into my
    screen.
Why this problem doesn't arise when testing in Flash IDE? Can
we make any assumption out of this?
Any help would really appreciated as the deadline for the
    project is on Wednesday.
    Thank you

Well I think that I found something.
There is a main movie in which many external movies are
loaded (once at a time). The player was hanging when the user was
pressing the button to load the external .swf.
After many trials and erros I figured out that probably what
stops player from responding is the combo box the external movies
have. I have to mention that I'm using skinned combos. But I tried
to delete the skinned files and drop a new standard combo into
these external movies. In both situations I was getting the pop
    message about "...running slowly..."
On the other hand, when I deleted completeley the combo box
and any skinned movie clips everything was ok.
So, is this is a bug? Is there any hack?

  • Script on page causing flash player to run slow

I am trying to use webmaker( magix) and as I get to the load
page I get this message... script on this page is making flash
player run slow and may cause computer to be unresponsive do you
want to abort after 4 days of trying could anyone tell me what the
    problem could be please

I don't understand why I would use onEnterFrame(). The entire
program only needs one frame to exist on, but maybe I don't
understand how Flash needs to manage these things. I am a C++/Cocoa
programmer rewriting a program that my boss made years ago in
Visual BASIC. What made it work for him was to call DoEvents every
600 itterations, which pauses the execution so that the system can
catch up with it's own stuff. Are you saying that onEnterFrame will
do this too? How will this work if the calculation only starts when
a button is pressed. Does the entire calculation routine need to
take place on a different frame?
    Could you explain these things?

  • Error: Adobe Flash Player 9 run slowly!

    Hi folks,
I am working since a long time on a big model. Now I am nearly complete but something is going wrong after deploying into the portal.
Compiling and deploying works fine. But when I start to run my application, the program is getting aborted with following error pop-up: "A script in this movie is causing Adobe Flash Player 9 to run slowly. If it continues to run, your computer may become unresponsive. Do you want to abort the script?". After this error message, I have to click yes, since nothing responses anymore when I don't do so.
I am calling a huge number of Bapis in my model. When I delete one of the last called Bapi in the model sequence the above described problem doesn't occur anymore. But I need all Bapis in the model!
Do I have the chance to attach my model somewhere to give you the chance to have a look at it? Maybe it would be much easier then to solve the problem.
I am looking forward to here from you.
    Thank you very much.
    Aylin.

    Hi Marcel, hi Benni,
first of all thank you for your answers.
I have uploaded the exported model, which you can download following this link:
Maybe, to answer the question of Benni, some description of my model:
I am working with 3 layers, which are parts of a wizard.
In the first layer you can select between 3 entries in a drop-down-box and jump to the next layer with pushing the button "next". Depending on which entry you have choosen from the drop down box, you will be shown one of the 3 form views in the second layer (I worked here with a store element and visibility condition).
In the second layer now, you can choose several entries clicking the clickboxes. Clicking the button "next" you will jump to the next layer.
Here is a value help to search for customers (ERP-Customer Table). After you have choosen a customer, Project Number and Project Description for 2 projects will be entered.
After clicking the submit button the main process starts in the backend:
A cprojects template will be copied and changed regarding to the entered project data. This will be done for 2 projects in parallel. Next step ist to read out of a table the corresponding internal order from the first project and use it as input to create an Sales Order. In parallel also the Internal Order of the second project will be searched. After the Sales Order is created with the Internal Order of the first project, the second Internal Order will be used as input to change the existing Sales Order. Depending on if the "Data Conversion" component in the second layer is clicked, als an Purchase Order will be created (worked with a condition here).
The 2 form views are the output of the steps described (2 projects, Internal Orders and Purchase Order).
Since I have to create the project structure depending on which components have been checked in the second layer, I am working that way, that I am using a project structure where all components are in it. Depending on which components have been selected, I am deleting the ones, which have been not selected from the existing Project (I am doing this only for the first Project). Therefore I have to load the Project Definition of the Project (condition), I have to load the Project Phases which contain tasks to delete (i.e. when "Data Conversion" is not clicked, Project Phase 3 has to be loaded, since this component as a task under Project Phase 3. I worked also with conditions here). Then I have to delete the appropriate task (condition). Since the Bapis do not have a commit part in them, I have also to run commit Bapis to submit the changes into the backend (cProjects Commit Work).
To come back to Benni's question, if the last Bapis are working: Yes, they do. The same model worked on Thursday evening. And now, I always get the same error message. I do not really know, how to work with this timer. Can you give me advice?
I don't know, if you have access to our systems. But if you need test data to run the model, let me know.
    Thank you very much.
    Aylin.

  • Flash Player 9 Running Slowly

My browsers (Macintosh Safari and Firefox) have been stalling
at certain favorite sites, eventually sending up this message: "A
script in this movie is causing Adobe Flash Player 9 to run slowly.
If it continues to run, your computer may become unresponsive. Do
you want to abort the script?" I have uninstalled Flash Player 9,
reinstalled, and fixed permissions, but this does not correct the
problem. Colleagues visiting these sites with their own Mac
    browsers surf smoothly.
Would be grateful for helpful suggestions.

I started experiencing the problem when I upgrade Adobe
Reader 8.1.1. Has anyone been able to find a resolution to this
problem. I have tried downloaded Flash Player fromt the adobe
website, and nothing happend when I click on the download button.
Please let me know if anyone has been able to fix this problem.
    Thanks, Jesse

  • Flash Player 10 runs slowly

A recent update to Adobe Flash Player, version 10,1,12,36 has
been giving problems to loading certain web site pages. The most
irritating site is the initial page at AccuWeather.com. While I
await the page to fully load, I get this error message: "A script
in this movie is causing Adobe Flash Player 10 to run slowly. If it
continues to run your computer may become unresponsive. Do you wand
to abort the script? Yes No" The movie is actually a video player
that contains viewer-selectable recent weather news items.
Can someone please tell me what to do so that I can go back
    to using AccuWeather?
Apple iMac with Intel Processor & OS 10.5.6

I have the same player, but on Win XP SP3
The page loads fine for me in both IE7 and Chrome.
Regardless, this message typically comes up because there is
an error in the script of the SWF that bogs things down. The only
way to get by this is for the creators of the flash (the people at
    AccuWeather.com) to fix the problem.

  • Adobe Flash Player 11 runs slowly in FF 14

Currently using FF 14 (release channel) with Flash Player 11 (updated today, 7/21/12). Flash objects, such as Facebook games, run slow/choppy to the point where it looks like a collection of tiles updating over the course of a few seconds.
I have deleted temp files, compacted databases, uninstalled and reinstalled FF, updated display drivers, ran the flash objects in full-screen mode, and tested the same flash objects in other browsers.
Running in full-screen mode alleviates the slowness, but there is a delay when loading content that is normally not noticed when viewing on a normal page; however, the action plays as it should. Viewing the flash content from other browsers, such as IE, allows the content to play fluidly as it should. Flash hardware acceleration (Settings) toggle does not seem to alter performance, and the Global Settings are allowing websites to store sufficient data. Rebooting also does not resolve the issue.
The PC in question is running Win 7 32bit; 2 GB RAM; Dual Core 1.8 GHz processor; ATI Radeon HD 2400 graphics @ 1280x1024 resolution.
Task Manager shows that the Flash Player uses up to 60% of the CPU time, Firefox uses less than 15% at peak, and the plugin container typically runs below 10% when viewing the flash object on a page normally. Full-screen viewing of the flash object can have Flash Player take up to 70% of the CPU time, but playback is fluid.

Hi RichardVV, what I recommend is the following:
    * Disable hardware graphics acceleration in Firefox. You usually need to restart Firefox in order for this to take effect, so save all work first (e.g., mail you are composing, online documents you're editing, etc.).
orange Firefox button ''or'' classic Tools menu > Options > Advanced
On the "General" mini-tab, uncheck the box for "Use hardware acceleration when available"
    * Install Flash 11.4 (the current version)
    * If there are problems with Flash, disable the Flash player's use of hardware graphics acceleration. See the steps in this article: http://helpx.adobe.com/flash-player/kb/video-playback-issues.html#main_Solve_video_playback_issues
    * If there are still problems with Flash, disable the Flash player's protected mode. See this support article from Adobe under the heading "Last Resort": [http://forums.adobe.com/message/4468493#TemporaryWorkaround Adobe Forums: How do I troubleshoot Flash Player's protected mode for Firefox?]

  • Screen freeze: warning:Script in movie is causing Adobe Flash player to run slowly, on any page

It freezes the screen for a minute then disappears, until later it repeats.

Please check if all your plugins are up-to-date. To do this, go to the [http://mozilla.com/plugincheck Mozilla Plugin Check site].
Once you're there, the site will check if all your plugins have the latest versions.
If you see plugins in the list that have a yellow ''Update'' button or a red ''Update now'' button, please update these immediately.
To do so, please click each red or yellow button. Then you should see a site that allows you to download the latest version. Double-click the downloaded file to start the installation and follow the steps mentioned in the installation procedure.
