A strange fluid is leeching out of my monitor

I have an imac 24 inch. for about a month now the screen has been behaving strangely (portions of it flickering slightly, poor color definition and contrast), but a couple of days ago things got even worse. a transparent liquid seems to be oozing out of the screen - its actually coming out from the seal where the plastic meets the metal.
Any advice would be most appreciated on this strange problem

All Agents Greyed Out or Not Monitored

I am running SCOM 2012 R2. All of my clients were re-imaged (Over 500) during the summer. Each image that was created had the SCOM 2012 R2 Agent installed. The images were installed on all of my clients. Now, most of the clients are
listed as greyed out or not monitored. The server has Event Log entries of the following:
Operations Manager has received a connection from a system running an older version of Operations Manager
None of my clients are running an older version of the agent. What's also new is that I cannot tell if my clients are turned on or not. The clients that are green are always green. Even when they are powered off, they are never grey
in the console. Even after I ping them or refresh. They always stay green. Any help would be appreciated.

I deleted the Health Service State folder and I modified the DB so they are remotely manageable. Now I am trying a repair. But what I dont understand is why the healthy clients do not show when they are turned off? They normally go from
green to grey. I've tried a ping and a refresh and I cannot get them to go grey.

My question is that what kind of data is the monitor monitoring? The monitor is in the cloud service.
And what are network in/out in the monitor stand for? The network in/out are in the monitor.
The monitor had monitored a huge amount of data in my cloud, but I have no ides what are they.

From the concepts side, By default, minimal monitoring is provided for a new cloud service using performance counters gathered from the host operating system for the roles instances (virtual machines). The minimal metrics are limited to
CPU Percentage, Data In, Data Out, Disk Read Throughput, and Disk Write Throughput.
If you want to monitor other metrics, you could use the azure Diagnostic to custom
performance counter in your cloud service or set
Verbose setting on the azure portal. For this issue, I suggest you could refer to the concepts part of this page (http://azure.microsoft.com/en-us/documentation/articles/cloud-services-how-to-monitor/

Base on my understanding, Network in/out include the
performance counter "Bytes receive" and "Bytes send". Maybe it seems that your data size of network in/out is huge amount. But only your outbound data
can be charged. Of course, if you have some doubt about data or data billing, you could contact Azure Billing support for more details.

I have checked the UNIX server and the admin.xml is not located in advised location.
The only two file that are in the advised location are:
- ContentTypes.xml
- PythonAPI.xml
I have another install of data service (default installation) on a windows environment, and I checked the advised location and the file is there.
Is it possible to copy the windows admin.xml to the Unix server.

If you use Lion, go to Applications/ Mission Control and, if you have more Desktops, as attached, it means you have more, and you must select the one you need for a certain app. If default settings has not changed, this is Control with left / right arrow
If in Snow Leopard and earlier, you have these settings in System Preferences only. In Lion, you also have some settings in Sys Prefs.

Looking at the error message "The Network Adapter could not establish the connection" , It appears hostname and port may be incorrect. Review the targets.xml under E:\oracle\product\10.2.0\db_1\SAP_solman_SDB\emd and
emoms.properties under E:\oracle\product\10.2.0\db_1\SAP_solman_SDB\config folder to make sure host ( sap_solman) and port (1527) are correct.
As far as setting the environment variables goes, you can go to control panel -> system -> advanced -> environment variables and set the ORACLE_HOME and ORACLE_SID

Mod: m7 j020dx-TouchSreen is acting strange and activates with out me touching it

Running Win 8.1
This is the very first computer that I have owned that has "touch screen" capability so not quite sure what may be causing this; a hardware setting, needed software update or a virus.
Over the past week I have noticed something very odd happening with this laptop screen. At first did not give it much thought because i had thought that maybe i may have done something to cause this but realized now it does it on its very own.
I could be doing absolutely nothing on the computer and all of a sudden the cursor moves to a new point on the screen. Like i said at first was not quite sure what the heck was going on. Did not give it much thought at first but have noticed this is happening more and more now. So I started paying far more attention to his and have seen that while looking at my screen I see that a "blotch" would appear (as if i had touched the screen with my finger causing the impression on the screen) out of no where and the cursor would then fly across the screen to the point of the blotch. I would move the cursor to a new point on the screen and after a while (could be one second or one minute) the blotch reappears as if i actually applied pressure to the screen with my finger) the blotch would reappaer and the cursor flies to that part of the screen again. Sometimes it gets so bad where the moment i move the cursor it flies right back to that same spot over and over even to the point where if i attempt to restart the computer i can't even select the menu steps to restart because the cursor keeps flying across the screen as if it had a mid of its own.
I first started to shut off the computer by shutting it down by using the "power button" which i know is not the right way to do it but at these times the only way i can shut it down or restart it because the cursor makes it impossible to even use the windows key to restart it.
Yesterday i had to restart the system at least 4 different times to get it to stop.
Is anyone else experiencing this problem. Is it a virus or does this tend to happen with a touchscreen computer.
Any information will be appreciated.

Hi,
This could be an issue if you were using Safari 5.1+ in 64bit mode. This should go away if you run Safari 5.1+ in 32 bit mode. You can change this by
1. Go to /Applications
2. Find Safari->RightClick->Get Info->Check 'Open in 32-bit mode' check box.
3. Relaunch Safari 5.1 again.

I was working with the following code:

if you print "buf", it really works; however if you change line 10 by :
System.out.println("--->" + buf );
The method "println()" doesn't write "--->abcde". The functionality doesn't the same. It will appear "----> [C@3e25a5"

buf's an array and thus is an object. object's don't inherently know how to represent themselves as Strings, so you have to do other things to make sure that they print out ok. To get a char array to print well, you could use the String method valueOf(...):

Photoshop performing strangely (menu options greyed out and Save As not working)

Just recently routine tasks have become not so routine.
When I use File/Open everything is greyed out because the Enable field is blank. I can't find any place to set this field permanently to All Readable Documents.
Secondly, when I use Save As, Photoshop wants to save my image in a .eps format unless I save it as JPEG Stereo.
PLEASE HELP!

Your on a mac using photoshop cs6?
The most common cause is having either moved/copied plugins from a previous photoshop version into photoshop cs6
or pointing the Additional Plug-Ins Folder under Plug-ins in the photoshop preferences to a previous version of photoshop.
If you did either of the above, then undo that (remove the copied plugins or uncheck the additional plugins folder)

Strange iPhone simulator slides out on right side of dual monitor

I'm reviewing all the processes and completely stumped! Towards the VERY right side of my left monitor, I can drag leftwards and an simulated iPhone will appear for a second and snap back. I have no idea what I installed recently or way back, but can't figure out how to quit it (or uninstall)

I think you're right-- however, I always thought that mono recordings played through both ears--always worked that way on my old stereo system!
This podcast does that, too, but only if one pulls the plug out a bit! That's what's confusing to me. Why does it change from both ears to only one ear depending on far the plug is pushed in? (And especially as it behaves opposite what one would expect-- both ears when not plugged in all the way-- only 1 when fully embedded!)

Ac3 audio strange dipping in and out

Audio sounds/looks great in FCP 4.5, exoprt it into aif file, drop aif into Apack using 2 channel stereo, -31 dbfs, 256 kbps, compressoin preset = NONE...when aif plyed back, sounds great, when ac3 played back in DVD SP 2simulator AND on burned DVD-R (whether TV or laptop or G5), certain areas of audio are raised and dipped, such as when nat sound comes up, the music dips way down and back up after nat sound, but this was not edited this way, or when narrator is talking - some times he dips down then comes up in certain areas. Are settings wrong? Why not -27 instead of -31? Is the 256 kbps a problem?

What Mark said is largely right, but regarding the DNV setting of -31... this ensures that there is no attenuation of the audio as you convert it to AC3. It isn't a 'safety' setting as such, although I can see how it could be described that way. When you convert audio to AC3 there are a lot of factors to consider. The mix in your NLE is just one of these, and the final output destination is another. When you convert to AC3 you have the option of attenuating your audio so that the powerful disco beat in one scene doesn't blast the speakers after the quietly spoken scene just before it. Getting this setting right is essential to stop your viewer reaching for the volume control every few minutes. If you set the levels exactly as you want them in your NLE or audio editing app, then you shouldn't need to worry about setting up a DNV of anything other than -31. If you do, the amount of attenuation is calculated accoding to a formula:
Attenuation (db) = 31+DNV
So, if you set the DNV to be -31 there will be zero attenuation - the audio should come out exactly the same as it went in (31 + -31 = 0)
In A.Pack, there was a small irritation when setting DNV. If you type in -31 and didn't press the 'return' key, your setting reverts back to -27. Be sure to check that your setting has 'stuck'! It's caught me out more than once.

Woh, when I received my Leopard and upgraded, I did a Archive Intall thinking in case something goes wrong with the Leopard installation I would be able to go back to Tiger. Well I had gotten to the point to where I was comfortable with the way Leopard was running and went to delete the "Previous" Archived install, and it simply was not there. No more Previous Install directory...very strange, but since I was ready to delete it anyway, then no big deal. Hopefully this won't happen to somebody else that really needs the Archived Install. Just a HEADS UP message to anyone interested.

Here's the Apple Knowledge Base article that gives the command for removing the Hidden attribute on the Home directory for folks who did a Leopard upgrade and had their Home directory vanish:

Obviously you would need to know the correct name for the "hidden" folder you are trying to unhide.
In a Finder window, type Command-f to bring up the search panel. In the "kind" drop down box at the top of the right panel, select Other. In the panel that opens up, scroll down to File invisible and check the check box to the right of it. Then click on OK. Now again in that "kind" drop down, you will find file visibility in the list. Select it and also select "Visible or invisible" in the drop down just to its right.
Now you should be able to put in the name of the missing folder in the search field and have it show up.

Strange Issue When Logging Out

Hello,
I noticed the other night when I was shuttingdown, the little popup that asks if I want to reopen windows seemed to change and show blue "Shutdown" rather than the graphite color which I've chosen as a general color scheme. It seems ok now, but was wondering if anyone had ever notcied this with their MBP running Lion 10.7.3?
