  • Here is a suggestion for APPLE.

I have been conflicting with a problem that I think you can solve. (if you ARE really into that thing of making your costumer's experience EVEN better)
My iPhone's battery isn't going to last forever, my iPhone at some point will shut off for insufficient power.
Now, my suggestion is, well, as I register myself to get an Apple ID, I put my phone number in, right?
So my suggestion is, make the ability to send SMS messages through the iDevices,
So that I will be able to send SMS through the iMessage app.
Once that I'll write an SMS, YOU will contact my currier and they will charge me for a SMS.
That way for me (spesificly, but there are users with more apple devices), if my iPhone's battery will die again, and I'll have to send someone an SMS, I could do it over Wi-Fi THROUGH my iPad / iPod touch / any Mac to any phone!...
I think that this idea is brilliant and can help lots of people.
Thank you for reading this :)
    Sincerely,
    Yarin Suissa.

This is a user-to-user technical help forum. Apple isn't reading these forums for suggestions. We are all just users here.

  • Is there a way to make suggestions to Apple?

With the iPhone being so popular and many reports of it being stolen, the Find My iPhone can be a great feature.    Except that the perp can turn it off!!!  What good is the feature then?
How can I suggest to Apple that they put a pass code lock or restricive lock on that particular feature so it can't be turned off so easily?    It seems they could easily fix this in an update.

I wouldn't hold your breath since there is an option that prevents this along with preventing anything on your iPhone from being accessed, prevents a backup from being created on another computer, prevents the iPhone from being synced with iTunes on another computer, and from being restored with iTunes on another computer without having to place the iPhone into recovery mode first.
All someone has to do is power a CDMA iPhone off or turn Cellular Data off which prevents Find My iPhone from working. The Passcode lock prevents Cellular Data from being turned off and from accessing anything on the iPhone.

  • Can anyone tell me if anyone from Apple reads these forums

*Can anyone tell me if anyone from Apple reads these forums and does anything about the issues experienced?* I still have a faulty proximity sensor, even after the latest download. I went to the Apple Store and they told me to stop using it with the leather pouch, but it doesn't make any difference. I even tested the test models in the store and they did the same thing.
*Has anyone been able to fix the proximity sensor fault on their phone so that it doesn't come on whilst your talking?*
Someone please help. I loved my iphone 3G, but the iphone 4 has caused me to become so disappointed with Apple. I'm even thinking of moving to the Samsung Galaxy, which has Google Android capability, moving background wallpapers, bluetooth capability, video capability that is compatible the a variety of media players (not just Quicktime), the ability to send business cards to non-apple phones and the ability to be used as a USB drive without needing wifi or itunes.

These Forums are mostly users talking with users, now and then you may see the grey Apple icon of an employee/genius posting and the purple Apple of a Forum host but they aren't here to pass on feedback.
The best way to make your point is to send feedback here:

  • Does anyone from Apple read these forums?

If a representative from Apple would read these posts, doesn't it seem like all of us who are having the same problem (the iPod Mini not being recognized by iTunes 6.0.1) would have been fixed already? Check out the number of posts that ALL have to do with this same issue - going back at least a month. This HAS to be related to the most recent software version. Does anyone know of a way (other than calling customer support and being charged for the call) to contact Apple and let them know there is a widespread problem with the iPod Mini and the most recent version of iTunes?

I can't seem to get iTunes up and running on my PC and am not getting any reply - I get the strange message "The folder iTunes can not be found or created and is required. The default location for this folder is inside the My Music folder. From what I can tell it is there but am unable to get things connected and running even after a de-install / re-install of the software. Getting frustated now - anybody out there with a suggestion?

  • Does anyone from apple read these?

I'm just wondering if any tech people from apple read these threads.... wouldn't it be nice if they would chime in when questions could be easily answered by the authors of this great software?

We know more about how to solve issues than the guys Apple hires. Better than their programmers, better than their tech support lines, better than the "Apple Geniuses."

  • DOES ANYBODY FROM APPLE ACTUALLY READ THESE POSTS?????

I'm beginning to wonder if anybody who works at Apple actually reads these posts. I've never seen so many posts with zero replies before... Where are all the supposed "gurus" that have been on this software since the beginning? Makes me think there must not be that many people using it, if it takes this long to get a response from the "knowledge base" that sold me the software.
    Hello... is there anybody home?

Apple doesn't provide technical assistance here. It's possible they read some of the posts, but I am sure that they always go first to the feedback channel before wading through thousands of irrelevant messages in the forums, which are for user to user help.

  • Does anyone from Apple actually read these pages?

I have browsed this forum and hardly anyone has their questions answered. Does anyone in Apple read these pages? Come on Apple, listen to your customers and answer their questions.

Google "Apple phone number". Choose the correct number and call it.
If you have purchased an iPod you get one free support call - unless you buy the Apple Care extended plan, in which case you get calls for 2 years.
If you have not purchased an ipod, they will bill you, since iTunes is a free program, and they are not in the business of troubleshooting Windows systems.
Hope that makes sense. The Firefox browser is free and there's no phone number to call on that either, to make a comparison.

  • Does anyone from Apple read these threads?

I've had a problem with iTunes for over a week now. Apparently, it's a very common problem: "iTunes has encountered a problem..." at which point it never launches. I've tried all of the fixes suggested by Apple and even some from some of the other posters; all to no avail. *** is going on here?!?! Does apple really want people to defect and try other products? I've had my mini for just over a year now and due to crappy battery life, I was contemplating getting a nano. Not anymore. Not until Apple fixes this issue. Apple, are you listening?

Hi Katrina, After browsing the Discussions forum for an answer to a question, I read with interest your replies to several people. I am a Mac owner and I, like many others, find it difficult to contact Apple directly... but that's another issue. So I'm turning to you (and/or the forum).
I see you are using PC & Windows XP - &, if I remember correctly, I think you responded to some iTunes questions. Basically, I want to set up my Mum's old PC (Windows ME) with iTunes. I know there are compatability issues.
I am working remotely from Mum's PC at the moment because it's in the shop getting an upgrade. The only specs I can remember are: Pentium II; 300mhz for something or other; 128mb ram; a good Sound Card; and 2GB (I think) for overall memory. Sorry, I just can't remember. Suffice to say, it's no super computer, but by all accounts should be reliable and capable.
The old PC is incompatable with the newer versions of iTunes software , so my questions are, "Would an older version of iTunes work, & if so, do you know if I can download it from Apple?"
I've only used this forum once before, and am not familiar with the etiquette. Hope I haven't done anything wrong in trying to contact you directly (I tried to email you but didn't know how or where to send it.) If I could have worked out how to contact Apple, I would have done so. It seemed that every link I tried would tell me that they were not there to answer specific questions of the type I have just asked of you??? Hope you can help,
    Myles

  • Where are my photos on the PC after sync with an iphone?  I know nobody out there is stupid enough to suggest to me that they are encrypted and inaccessible, right?  Seriously?  How stupid would Apple corporation have to be to do something like this?

Where are my photos on the PC after synching with an iphone?  I know nobody out there is stupid enough to suggest to me that they are encrypted and inaccessible, right?  Seriously?  How stupid would Apple corporation have to be to do something like this? That would be just as foolish as making my music unusable on the PC...
Okay, Let's assume that Apple is indeed THAT foolish.......How does one get the photos from the phone to the PC and still use them?

The photos are still on your phone, and if enabled in your Photo Stream. They are not automatically transferred to your computer when syncing.

  • SUGGESTION FOR APPLE, APPLE PLEASE READ THIS!!!

Okay ive been thinking and i believe apple can do some upgrades to the trackpad in a software update to do even more amazing stuff for example:
-how about you touch the four corners of your trackpad to turn off your laptop
    -or three corners for restart
    -two corners for log out
    any comments?
is there any way i can send this info to apple?

If you wish to provide a feature request do so here: Feedback. No one at Apple reads these Discussions.

  • Can you operate the mac book pro 15 inch with out the battery?  I read somewhere in a post that it lowers the power to about 1 gig.  I asked apple and they said it is not true because you can use it with or without both together without affecting op pw

can you operate the mac book pro 15 inch with out the battery?  I read somewhere in a post that it lowers the power to about 1 gig with out the battery.  I asked apple and they said it is not true because you can use the comp with the power adapter and battery together or either by itself and it will not effect the 2.16 gig.  Thank you.

If you remove the battery the CPU power will be cut by 50% (whatever they told you) so that there's no lack of power or overheating issues. It's best to always keep the battery in.
