A TrueType Font Doesn't Show Up in Classic

I downloaded a TrueType font and put it in the Fonts folder, inside the System Folder for Classic. The font shows up in Fontbook, as do the other TrueType fonts in the Classic Fonts folder. But unlike those fonts, the one I just downloaded does not show up in Photoshop, where I'm trying to use it.
Any ideas?
Thanks.

Hi, Mike -
Not all TrueType formats are usable by OS 9/Classic, even though OSX may be able to use them.
In particular, PC (Windows) formats are not usable by Classic. However, try using the utility TTConverter which is designed to convert PC-TrueType fonts into a Mac-TrueType font usable by OS 9/Classic.
Test it with a duplicate of the font.

  • Font doesn't show up for Flash

I have a font located in my System/Library/Fonts folder that shows up in my Font Book. I can also see the font in my font list while in Adobe PhotoShop and Illustrator...but not in Flash. I am using CS3. Does anyone have an idea why this may be happening?
I wasn't sure if this would be an Apple issue or Flash.

    Try the Adobe forums.

  • DVD burn has SATURATED reds, yellow font doesn't show well as iMovie file

hello all. I am burning a DVD for a film festival submission and I am running across a color problem. I am on a PowerMac G5 last version running 10.4.11 using Toast to burn a DV or MOV file of the movie. the result is a DVD where all the reds come out in the picture. The actors faces have visibly more red in them. Yellow fonts for the credits do not show well. The iMovie project and DV and QT files all look great. Can anyone help on something I may be doing wrong? This is for a film festival submission, the film has a great chance to make it, and this burn makes it look terrible. HELP!

Typically this forum supports the color grade application "COLOR", part of the Final Cut Studio suite.
What you have appears to be a compression problem.
Try exporting your Quicktime as an explicit m2v file for use with either Toast or DVD Studio Pro.

  • Newly purchased Gujarati font doesn't show Hindi characters, only English.

I bought Gujarati and Devangari. Devangari works great in my InDesign CS6; Gujarati shows copy in English characters, not Hindi. I am using a Macintosh. The top part of the image is the Devangari type.

Disregard. The text I import has to be in unicode in order for Gujarati to work.

  • I installed a TrueType font that I've created and it doesn't show up in Photoshop, but it does show

Can anybody help me? Why Photoshop is doing that?
I even reboot my computer. I'm working with Windows XP and Photoshop CS3. Thanks.

    Isa,
    >The font is one that I've created to make a website
Then you need to review and validate this font. No idea how you created it, or if the software you used to create it is good or used correctly.
If your font doesn't appear in all applications, yet it is installed and activated the same way as the other fonts recognized by Photoshop, would tend to indicate font corruption or duplicate activated fonts.
But, if you have a gazillion fonts activated in Photoshop, know that Photoshop has a limit on how many fonts can be active simultaneously (at least on the Mac side). But if you have that many fonts activated, you need a good font manager. That many activated fonts creates excessively long font menus and slows down system performance.

  • Firefox doesn't show headers on websites or mail options such as fonts, etc

Firefox is the only browser that I'm having these problems with. They are as follows:
In the compose e-mail block of my yahoo, it doesn't show the options for fonts, size of fonts, backgrounds, etc. It also won't let me change the color of the fonts. It just shows blank boxes. Not only can't I change things in individual e-mails that I compose, I can't change my e-mail options.
In the customize backgrounds and colors for my yahoo page, it doesn't let me change colors or themes.
In websites, it doesn't show the headers of the website, including name of website and selections. It's blank. The body of the website shows up. Just not the header.
Is there a way restore Firefox to it's original state? If so, how do I do this? Or do I need to uninstall it and reinstall it? I didn't do this when I first started using Firefox.

Make sure that you allow pages to choose their colors and that you haven't enabled High Contrast in the Windows Accessibility settings.

  • Installed fonts (mac Default font) in my Font Book doesn't show up in photoshop  CC

Hello, I'm in trouble with fonts.
    I'm using mac OS X 10.9.4 mavericks.
I want to use 'HanziPen SC' which is already installed in my Font book but it doesn't show up in photoshop CC.
It has been default font since mavericks, maybe.
And I have same situation in AI as well.
I've already tried to clear cache and reboot photoshop but it didn't work to me.
    Does anyone help me?

    Thank you for your kindness!
    It was solved!
But in my case, the reason why it didn't show up was veeeery stupid...
    I checked out Adobe/Adobe Photoshop CC/CT Font Cache/Adobe_Fnt_OSFont.lst
Then, there was 'HanziPen SC' and I found out surprising fact!
    Its Writing script was 'Chinese'!!
So I couldn't find 'HanziPen' even though I typed 'HanziPen'.
It has been shown up in Chinese...
What I did is to over write WritingScript,FamilyNameNative,StyleNameNative,FullNameNative to Japanese.
I don't know why it happened to me at all. but anyway, finally I was able to  see the one in photoshop CC.
Again, Thank you for your kindness. If you didn't suggested about cache files, I might have not found out the answer.
    Thank you!!!!

  • Font installed on Windows but doesn't show in Photoshop

  • Font Agent Pro 4.0.3 font library doesn't show up in Fireworks CS4

My extensive Font Age Pro 4.0.3 library of fonts does not show up in Fireworks CS4. Does anyone know why? The only fonts
Fireworks sees are those controlled by Font Manager. I do not recall this problem with Tiger and Fireworks CS3.
Photoshop CS4 has no problem (yes there is an Auto-Activation Plug-in for Font Agent Pro 4), however did not have a problem not having it when was
    running CS3 Fireworks.
    Fireworks Version: 10.0.3.11

    Font Agent Pro: 4.0.3

Actually, the need to use 3D isn't very apparent in this comp.  I wouldn't use 3D unless there was a reason to do so.

Indeed there is!  You've mistakenly made guide layers, not text layers.  Here's a description of them:

  • Flash CS3 doesn't show some fonts.

Some fonts that I'm trying to use in Flash CS3 aren't showing
up. Specifically, these fonts are Peter Saville's New Order line of
different typefaces. Font Book only shows errors for one of the
fonts (N.O.– Movement). This is the specific font I want to
use in CS3, but there are other N.O. fonts that I could substitute
with, if I could get Flash CS3 to recognize them.
Does Flash inspect fonts in loading to determine their
usability? If someone has a solution, I'd really like to hear it.
    Thank you.

I asked about this once. Some newsgroup user told me the
fonts wouldn't display within flash because the font package did
    not include font outlines.
    Hope this helps,
    Joe

  • CS4: Font not missing, but glyph doesn't show

I have a Word 2003 document that I am trying to import as a test file. It has 2 sets of symbols: greater than or equal to and less than or equal to, one set in Times New Roman and the other in Symbol (PostScript).
I have InDesign CS2 and CS4 on my computer (PC, Win XP). When I place this file in CS2, all symbols are fine.
When I place it in CS4, the Times New Roman symbols are fine, but the Symbol font symbols appear as pink boxes. Find Font does not show any missing fonts, and selecting the box reveals that CS4 knows it is in Symbol font.
When I look at the Glyphs palette in both CS2 and CS4, I see both symbols are there and both have the same codes (GID:98/Unicode:2264 and GID:114/Unicode:2265).
I've pored over the import settings in CS2 and I don't see anything different.
So what is going on? How can I get this font to appear correctly in CS4?

The other option that springs immediately to mind is to pre-process the Word files with VBA. Characters in Symbol font in Word are sometimes just like any other character, but occasionally Word likes to make them into, dang it I can't remember what it's called. It basically surrounds them with field codes which are invisible to the end user. (Wordperfect -> Word conversions are particularly troublesome in this regard.) Changes to InDesign's Word/RTF file importer have caused a wide variety of Word dirty tricks to import with varying degrees of success over the years, so I'm unsurprised to learn that CS4 is failing to import your symbols where CS2 was successful.
Unless you're far more comfortable with VBA in Word than with JS in ID, I'd say: use Jongware's script. Or (as he mentioned in his linked thread) try saving as RTF before placing, before you start trying to automate the find/replace process in one of the two apps.
