A url to point to db

hi,
At present we have upgraded to oracle 9i and we connect to our application via a url. however we have some bespoke software for e.g we have some software that runs a few reports. Basically it consists of one form and a few reports. The form is like a menu and it lets you enter the application and then there is a selection of reports that you click on to run. When you double click on the form to enter the application you put in the username/password and database like you would in our usual application.
However now since we've upgraded we connect via the web. How can i set up a url that will point to our bespoke software to run (but on the same database)? Has anyone done this ?
Thanks.

does anyone have any idea how to do this ??

  • Opening a URL that points to a PDF.

    Helllo,
    I use command start /MIN acrobat xxx.pdf  and I have no problem to open a PDF.  Now I want to replace xxx.pdf with a URL link that points to PDF file... So I use this command: C:\>start /MIN acrobat "https://www2.sea.accessline.com/tw2/GVXS:7a050-c2e6b-3a46560850102f-108943411"  This later command opens the Acrobat window but also a dialog stating:
    When I directly click on the URL that points to the PDF it opens it in the PDF window not browser which I want... Off course I have turned on some of my i.e. Internet Options.  I think this has to do with security set inside of Acrobat application.
    Regards
    Jeff P.

    What do you mean by "determined by the local preferences of the user"?  This URL coming to me inside of email I receive via Outlook I am not in a Browser when I open this URL...  If that is how can change the local preference to it opens in Acrobat Windows rather Browser?

  • ITunes U video URL must point to a static file?

    Hi,
    I'm the administrator of Cinémathèque française's iTunes U account.
    Until now, we hosted our videos on a server where they could be accessed directly as a static file (i.e. the .mp4 file). We recently decided to host our videos on Vimeo Pro. Vimeo offers the possibility to download the files, but the URLs don't point to the static file but to a script (e g: vimeo.com/95951401/download?t=1400671865&v=255635975&s=687ebc6dbe9614509bb857c2b 588d64f) that redirects to the video file with an authorization token.
    The item's enclosure element in the RSS feed is thus: <enclosure type="video/mp4" url="http://vimeo.com/95951401/download?t=1400671865&v=255635975&s=687ebc6dbe9614509b b857c2b588d64f" length="713717774"/>
    This doesn't seem to be valid with iTunes U. I get this error message when I try to refresh the feed for my collection:
    MXPodcastPublishSubmit.IndigoFeedError [...] iTunes U could not update the content because iTunes U could not connect to the server hosting the specified feed or resources (http://vimeo.com/95951401/download?t=1400671865&v=255635975&s=687ebc6dbe9614509b b857c2b588d64f). Until the issue is resolved ... etc.
    Has anybody run into this problem? Do you confirm that iTunes U won't accept an URL that's not a directly accessible video file? Any idea how this issue can be solved?
    Thanks,
    Nicolas

    It occurred to me that you are creating a "Collection" not a "Course". Have you tried creating a small course with Course Manager? It has no restrictions on links, and the final course can still be made public.

  • WLC Web Auth Redirect URL point to an ISE Policy NODE only?

    Hi all,
    I was wondering if the Web Auth Redirect URL configured in the WLC can only point to an ISE Policy Persona Node so the Web Portal feature (see below) in the ISE is only active when the ISE device has that Policy Persona activated.

    Thanks Peter for your clarification regarding the semantic I used and the question I made.
    Curiously, I tested it (configure the WLC Web Auth URL Redirect pointing to an ADM Node) and it did not work until I added the Policy Services persona into that ADM Node. I just wanted to verify that my test was correct because we want to make some changes in our deployment. Let me see if I can open a TAC Case in order to confirm this and add it to this post.

  • How to change the privacy statement link url

    I looked into the previous threads , could not find the answer to "Changing the privacy statement url to clients privacy statement url".
    I am talking about the privacy statement URL in the page that user see it as soon as user logs into the e-business suite.
    I have read the previous theads and developers guide regading how to show or hide this autofooter thing. but could not find any thing about how to change the one in the login page.I even looked ino personalization but could not find a place to change this url. please HELP.
    Another question is " is it ok to show privacy statement in just the first page and hide it in rest of the application pages?"
    Thanks
    karan

    Extract from Personalization Guide - Page Footer - Personalization Considerations
    * If you wish to personalize the URL that points to the Privacy Statement for a page that displays a standard Copyright and Privacy (that is, its Auto Footer property is set to true), set the Scope to OA Footer, in the Choose Personalization Context page of the Personalization UI.
    * If you wish to personalize the URL that points to the Privacy Statement for a page that displays a custom Copyright and Privacy (that is, its Auto Footer property is set to false), set the Scope to Page in the Choose Personalization Context page of the Personalization UI. In the following Page Hierarchy Personalization page , identify and personalize the Privacy page element.

  • Need to convert MP3 in URL to play it in myspace

    Hello
    Help ! I need to convert MP3 into URL? (I have a flashfetish player on Myspace they only read url for a dj mix)
    which sites or witch converter?
    Hope to speak soon !

    there is no such thing as "converting an mp3 to a URL." a URL is a pointer to where the file resides online. iow, you have to "upload" the mp3 somewhere (typically a web site that you own), and then use that URL to point to the file.
    for example this:
    http://www.bulletsandbones.com/BBPages/History/BBMp3s/01Real%20World.mp3
    points to a file located on the bulletsandbones web site

  • Get all classes from jar on url

    Hello,
    Im trying to adapt my class loading system to Java Web Start. And I need to get names of all classes in application JARs.
    I have already managed to get URL locations of application JARs via:
    URLClassLoader ucl=(URLClassLoader)Thread.currentThread().getContextClassLoader();
    URL[] urls=ucl.getURLs();     All urls are pointing to web (contains "http://").
    And now I need these names to call ucl.loadClass() on some of them.
    Any suggestions ?

    Actually that doesn't work. The /lib/ directory is inside the jar so I have a jar inside a jar and it seems Javawon't load from an embedded jar unless you manually code the class load.
    Thanks though. It would be nice if it worked that way.

  • Open URL in a new window

    I have a project slide with buttons that open a URL that points to the .htm project file for another project in a new window with the current project to stay running.  This causes the course to close completely in the LMS?

    Hi,
    try setting the button to open the url in a new window, that way the students will not have to "start over" when they need to go back to the module.
    Just go into your button properties and next to your url, click the down arrow and select new.  This will open the url in a new window.  You can uncheck the continue playing move choice also to stop the movie so it doesnt continue to play when the user is visiting the webpage.

  • URL retrieval from a JSP

    Hi,
              I've gotten everything working in our cluster except this. We have some
              JSP's that retrieve resources via a URL that points back to the cluster.
              i.e. the JSP retrieves an xml template from the server and then populates
              the nodes before returning it to the client. Here is a sample JSP
              <%@ page import="java.io.*" %>
              <%@ page import="java.net.*" %>
              <html>
              <head></head>
              <body>
              <%
              String fileURL = "http://"+request.getServerName() + ":" +
              request.getServerPort()+request.getContextPath()+
              "/xml_dataisland/posse_permissions.xml";
              java.net.URL defaultURL = new URL(fileURL);
              URLConnection connection = defaultURL.openConnection();
              if(connection == null){
              System.out.println("null connection in posse_menu.jsp");
              InputStream reply = connection.getInputStream();
              if(reply == null){
              System.out.println("null reply connection in posse_menu.jsp");
              BufferedReader from_server = new BufferedReader(new
              InputStreamReader(reply));
              String line = "";
              StringBuffer results = new StringBuffer();
              while(line != null)
              line = from_server.readLine();
              if(line != null)
              results.append(line);
              out.println(results);
              %>
              </body>

    If I understand, "SELECT count(*) ..." always returns one row.
    So, just do
    String count="SELECT count(*) c from anticles";
    ResultSet rscount=stmt.executeQuery(count);
    int countInt = 0;
    if(rscount.next()){
      //get the count, an integer
    countInt = rscount.getInt("c");
    //print out the count. If there were errors, countInt is already set to 0.
    out.println(countInt);
    Hope this helps.

  • "Browser is not supported" message accessing a URL to an Image

    Hi.
    I have a dynamically generated URL, which points to an image (GIF) created based on a BusinessGraphics chart.
    When I access this URL with Internet Explorer (6.0.2900), no problem at all. The image loads and is displayed on IE. But, when I set this URL to be called from other sources (like an Adobe Interactive Form image field, or creating a inputstream based on this URL), the below message is displayed:
    Sorry, your browser is not supported by Web Dynpro!
    Is there a way to solve it? I need to display the image associated to this URL in Adobe Interactive Form.
    Regards,
    Douglas Frankenberger

    Hi,
    What SP do you use?
    You have two options:
    1) Upgrade your portal to Support Package
    2) Implement note 991449

  • What is the correct firmware update check URL for a Westell VersaLink 327W?

    Hi, I was wondering what the correct URL is for the modem to check for updated firmware on the Westell VersaLink 327w. My model is the  D90-327W15-06 and its current firmware is 04.04.03
    To clarify, I'm looking for the URL that goes in the box at the top of the upgrade page in the router's advanced settings. That link is a screenshot of what my page currently looks like.
    Since I first got this modem 2 or 3 years ago, it has never been able to properly check for updates. I've tried changing the URL to point to the Verizon support page for manually downloading the firmware but that doesn't seem to work either. I'm guessing the URL should point to a specific file, possibly an xml or something? I don't remember what the original address in the box was but it didn't work anyway.
    I'm pretty sure I am running the latest version (04.04.03) and manually upgrading isn't a problem if a new version comes out but its always bugged me that the built-in check has never worked right for me so I figured I'd ask on here for the heck of it. At the very least I'd like it to be able to check version information even if it can't upgrade automatically.
    Does the built-in firmware check work for anyone else using the 327w or similar model? If so, could you kindly copy/paste the URL on your modem's firmware page? Even if you have a different modem, it might help me figure out the right address for my own. Thanks!

    #1 Go to http://www.verizon.net/central/vzc.portal?_nfpb=true&_pageLabel=vzc_help_contentDisplay&linkflag=use...
    #2 Make sure that use save as.
    #3 After you save the file, go into your router's upgrade screen.
    #4 Then use the file that you downloaded earlier to upgrade the router..
    If you have any questions as how to do this..
    #1 Be sure to take screen shots.
    #2 And be sure that you use tinypic.com as your image host.

  • Please help with the URL class

    Hello,
    I am trying to write a Java app that will take a url and download it.
    I believe you can do this with the URL class but I don't understand how to. For example, if the http url location points to a picture file, how would I code the app to retrieve this picture and save it to a specified directory?
    Also, is there a way that my java app could open another program, let's say Microsoft Internet Explorer?
    Please be as specific as possible, thanks!

    You'll see below an example to download a file
    private static String copyFile (String url, String nomFichier){
         // construction du fichier de sortie
         File outputFile = new File(repertoire + "\\fichiers\\" + nomFichier);
         // si le fichier existe dj, il ne sert rien de le tlcharger !
    if (outputFile.exists())
         return "fichiers/" + nomFichier;
              try {
         HttpURLConnection connect = (HttpURLConnection)new URL(url).openConnection();
    boolean connected = false;
    while (!connected){
    try {
    connect.connect();
    connected = true;
         catch (java.io.IOException e1) { System.out.print("...Tentative de connection"); }
    DataInputStream reader = new DataInputStream(
    connect.getInputStream());
         FileOutputStream out = new FileOutputStream(outputFile);
         int length = 1024;
         byte[] buf = new byte[length];
         int offset = 0;
         long offsetCourant = 0;
         int nb=0;
         while ((nb=reader.read(buf,offset,length))!= -1) {
              out.write(buf,0,nb);
         out.close();
