  • I've recently purchased an iPhone after years of using a Blackberry.  Is there a way for me to transfer all my contacts directly from my Bberry to my iPhone?

Your wireless provider should be able to do that at one
    of their retail locations.
If not, you need to get the information from the blackberry to the
appropriate program in your computer (for example Outlook on
a PC, Contact on a Mac) and then when you connect your iPhone
to that computer and open iTunes, you will be given a choice to
sync that data from the computer to your iPhone.
If you can get the information from your blackberry to google contacts,
you can sync to iPhone from there.

  • Is there a market for a WireFusion Xlet player?

    Hello,
We are considering creating a WireFusion Xlet player and are wondering if there is any market for such a player. With WireFusion, one can create fast and compact Web3D presentations that are fully Java 1.1/Personal Java compatible and we can probably have an Xlet player ready in a few weeks if the market is interresting.
Any feedback about this is appreciated.

    Yuh think ! ? !
That was 75% of the reason. It was waaaaay overpriced.
The ports being on the bottom, where no one could get at them, was another big reason it was not accepted by the public.
I am among those who have been pushing for a desktop system with a mini-like footprint, but imac-like performance -- but I've been advocating this since before the Mini existed.
One idea I put forward in my Mac User Group's newsletter was for a machine just slightly taller than a mini that docks into a cinema display-type monitor. This would allow apple to sell them together for an imac experience, or separately.
Regardless of whether or not they did the docking thing, this is the computer system that could really bring about great Mac acceptance in the corporate world. But of course Apple ignores that space and seem deaf to the needs of industry.

  • Is There a Market for Spreadsheets?

I've built a Numbers spreadsheet that might be worth 99¢ to someone who trades securities. I've searched the Mac App store and didn't find any Numbers spreadsheets there, except collections of templates. Is there a market for useful spreadsheets? Is there an exchange where spreadsheets can be uploaded and downloaded for free?

This is the email I sent to [email protected]:
Before I become a paid-up Apple Developer, I'd like to have the answer to this question.
I've developed a specialized Numbers 09 spreadsheet that might be worth 99¢ to people who trade securities. In the App Stores, I see collections of general Numbers and other iWorks templates, but I don't see any individual, specialized templates or finished spreadsheets. Are these allowed to be sold in the App Stores?
By and by I got this more-or-less boilerplate reply:
    Dear Wayne,
Thank you for contacting the App Review team. Apple is not able to provide pre-approval for proposed application submissions or to review and comment on application concepts or code. That said, all submissions to the App Store must be fully functional apps, as stated in the App Store Review Guidelines:
2.12: Apps that are not very useful. are simply web sites bundled as apps, or do not provide any lasting entertainment value may be rejected
Please review the App Store Review Guidelines against the specific application you wish to develop. The App Store Review Guidelines can be found at <https://developer.apple.com/appstore/resources/approval/guidelines.html>.
In addition, we strongly recommend reviewing the “iOS Developer Program License Agreement,” “iOS Human Interface Guidelines,” and “In App Purchase Programming Guidelines” to ensure that your application is in compliance with all documentation.
For tips on preparing your application for submission and other information about App Store approval process, visit:http://developer.apple.com/iphone/appstore/approval.html.
We look forward to reviewing your app.
    John
So I don't know much more now than I did before. Is a Numbers template an "app?" Is it worth the $99 Developer fee to submit my spreadsheet for review? What's the probability I'll sell enough (142 copies) to recoup the $99? I'll think about it.

  • HT201251 I want to use 30  ipads to run kiosk software in my restaurant. Can I use one Apple ID (and one credit card) for all devices

I want to use 30  ipads to run kiosk software in my restaurant. Can I use one Apple ID (and one credit card) for all devices?

Alternatively you can always manage your iPads (does not matter how many) with a single apple id and all reporting to your account under "find my device" service. Keeping an eye on all your units. Additionally as you mentioned these are for your Restaurant you may find the solutions offered by this company who creates apps and hardware for this purpose: http://www.spartakioskpro.com
Additionally if you expand beyond those 30 iPads to say 300 you will want to enable or plan on MDM as your best option to automate every ipad to use the same profile and app and ios configuration while also keeping a close eye on all of them via online MDM services like: https://meraki.cisco.com/products/systems-manager

  • When I first bought it, it was meant to use all the services provided by Great Apple including the new LTE service as a main service for such device. Now I just realize that such service does not match with the model I have ... Pease advise ..

    Greetings,
I hope this email finds you well. I bought my iPhone on December 1st, 2012 with a track order W459517623. When I first bought it, it was meant to use all the services provided by Great Apple including the new LTE service as a main service for such device. Now I just realize that such service does not match with the model I have, as per this link:
    http://www.apple.com/iphone/LTE/
    Model A1429
    (GSM model)
                                                                  Saudi Arabia - Mobily
The model Apple sent is A1428
I believe that such service should be provided to my devices too. Also, Apple always find best ways to solve such queries.
    Please advise me
    Thank you and Regards,
    Abdulrahman

I'm assuming you bought it via the Apple Online store. Contact them. Use the Contact Us link at the bottom of the page. Did you buy the phone from the store in the country you intend to USE the iPhone? If you bought the phone in the US store and intend to use it OUTSIDE the US, you only have yourself to blame, as they shipped the CORRECT phone for use in the US.

  • Using AppleScript to click menu items without access for assistive devices?

    Hi all,
Is it possible to have AppleScript 'click' menu items without having 'Enable access for assistive devices' enabled?
My script works fine with it on but with it off I just get this:
'System Events got an error: Access for assistive devices is disabled.'
Pretty clear and easy to fix. I don't really want assistive devices enabled, though ...
Any ideas or is this just not possible?
Sorry if this is a n00b question - I'm kinda new to the world of Mac and OS X ...
    Thanks!

Ok cool - thanks for the reply.
I've figured out how to set the bounds of the window I'm talking about:
    tell application "Transmit" to set bounds of window "Transcript" to {61, 1166, 2559, 1421}
I'll have a hack and see if I can figure out how to open the Transcript window without needing assistive devices enabled.
    Thanks again!

  • Is there any binding for USB devices?

I am looking for a Java library for USB joysticks.
    Does anyone know any?

You want an API to communicate with gaming devices; a joystick, regardless of the method of connection, is just a specific subset of that. There are some options. If you are creating a game or a simulation then you might want to look into the LWJGL API set which is a complete package for graphics, sound and gaming devices and it has a nice community; an alternative is JogAmp which delivers basically the same. High level than that there is LibGDX which builds on top of LWJGL but also allows you to deploy to Android, "html 5" and pretty soon iOS.
If all you want is to communicate with gaming devices you may want to look at the JxInput API.

  • How can i transfer my 2 8830 world edition verizon phones to another US provider? is this possible?

I have 2 bb world editions that I paid cash for, and i live near the ocean and verizon stinks here due to a small hill that blocks the local phone tower, other services work fine here, ATT is really good, sprint isnt great, etc... but I am tired of having to go stand 3 feet into the surf to get calls threw, and cant tether at all... and verizon wants me to pay them a lot for the last month of no service... ssoooooo is there any way to transfer to another carrier? Help...!!! thanks for any info
    william

Ok, the devices are yours< and what happens with the contract, can you get out of contract?
If you can change the service to Sprint, ATT is GSM and the devices are CDMA.

  • Using Apple World Travel Power Adapter with Airport Extreme

Hi, I was wondering if anyone knows if you can use Apples World Travel power adapters they sell for Powerbooks and ipods on an airport express. I'm looking to use it in Switzerland.
    Thanks

    1) use some sort of USB to Ethernet converter to plug the USB device into the AE
A "normal" USB-to-Ethernet adapter/converter merely makes the computer network capable. Useful if an Ethernet port is not provided originally. This is not what you want in this case. Instead, if you wish to connect an existing Wi-Fi base station (router), you should look for a special adapter (maybe something like this) with an Ethernet output and support for the very USB mobile broadband modem that you are using.
An alternative solution could be a dedicated mobile broadband router (with support for said USB modem), where you choose to or not choose to use its Wi-Fi capabilities.

cannot get itunes to update to 10.5 using xp media edition?

  • Is there any apps for vibrate on call connect?

Before this I'm using android phone, change to Iphone 5, and get use without seeing the phone when make a call, and when call connect the phone is vibrate. I found this useful when driving. Is there any apps for this? instead of downloading it from cydia (phone buzzer), it's meant we need to jailbreak our Iphone, and i don't want to do this.

    https://itunes.apple.com/eg/app/call-vibration-free/id565089253?mt=8
it's a trial version i beleive it will expire within 2 weeks & you have to call via the application it self however you can pay 0.99 U$D then you will be able to use it for life & even through the phone icon/app on your iPhone and No need for Jailbreak
