A/V Output: None Found

I'm running FCPX on a 2 year old Mac Pro with two graphics cards feeding two HDMI monitors and a Sharp HD TV. In FCP7 I was able to monitor my output on the TV, (connected to an ATI Radeon HD 5770 graphics card), via an HDMI cable. Now that I've switched to FCPX, I get the "None Found" option in the A/V Output space in Preferences. Is there a way to make this work?

AV Output for for hardware output like a Black Magic or AJA box. With HDMI out you set up the monitor as a second monitor is displays in system preferences.

This problem came for the first time after i made an update in Avid Protools...
After that i tryed everything and still got no sound... Next step i FORMAT my Mac Pro.. Back everything UP and reinstall Lion and still '' NO OUTPUT DEVICES FOUND'', i performed a clean install.. Thats why i am afraid it can be a Hardware problem.. So, if anyone of you guys know something about it, please share your knowledge with me..

After installing Mountain Lion. Under sound, where it says select an output device, it say no output devices found and there is no sound. How do I fix this? I have reinstalled the os twice and still the same. I have also repaired permissions.

Adobe Encore CS3 Recorder: None Found?

I'm using Encore CS3. I have burned DVDs with it many times before, but today it tells me in the "Build --> Destination" box: "Recorder: None Found." I click refresh but nothing happens. I know I have two working DVD writers connected to the computer, but Encore refuses to recognize them. I tried re-installing, but I still have the same problem. I have also tried running the program as administrator. What can be causing this problem?

When a program works one day, but not the next, then something has changed.
The trick is finding out what has changed.
Did you add any new software (maybe Nero, or Roxio)?
Do you use Quicken and its Backup Up to Disc, where you burn to a CD?
Did you add any new hardware?
Have you run any Windows OS updates, or hot-fixes? [usually results in broken/obsolete video or audio drivers.]
Do you have a Restore Point from when things did work?

Output not found

I try to get the value of a probe into LabVIEW, I use the LabVIEW Multisim connectivity toolkit.
However the output does not exist, here is the code I use:
I check the cuurent outputs with the ActiveX method EnumOutputs, if I verify that the output I want is actually I have no issue.
However the method 'GetOutputData' returns error -2147467259. And if I look up the last error message from multisim I get 'Output not found'.

First check the output of "Multisim_EnumOutputs" and verify that there are assigned/enumerated probes listed.   If so, my guess is that based on your sample size / simulation settings, the output may not be ready.   Usually you will want to use "Multisim_OutputReady" - put this in a loop and if TRUE, then read the output samples.
Remember if you are waiting for ms or seconds, you may have to wait for multiple seconds or minutes even for the simulation to complete.   By the way, the settings from the menu, under: Simulate -> Analyses -> Transient Analysis... dictate the transient analysis settings from the Multisim API (not the Interactive Simulation Settings).
Also I find that the best method to read data during a continuous simulation is to use "Multisim_SetOutputRequest" together with "Multisim_RunSimulationUntilNextOutput" and wait for a paused condition. When paused, the outputs will be ready to be read, and then you can use "Multisim_RunSimulationUntilNextOutput" again.   This will allow you to run other things in a state machine, loop, etc.. and occassionally check the simulation status using "Multisim_SimulationState" to see if data is available.

Tascam US-600 Device none found. On PC it works perfectly, WHY???

Hi, I received a USB Interface/MIDI Tascam US-600 for christmas and I want to use it on my MacBook Pro 13" (OSX Lion 10.7.5) BUT, after installed the driver, reboot... I opened the panel control and showed this message : DEVICE NONE FOUND.
And when I tested it on my PC, it perfectly works, WHY?
Microsoft better than Apple for professional? HAHA joke.
Please give me an answer...

Tascam provide Mac drivers for all versions of OSX up to 10.8.2 (current) why don't you read the manual and download the correct drivers.

TS1574 I have no sound on my iMac.    When I select the upper key on the keyboard or select 'output devices' in the System Preferences file, it says "no output devices found".     Any ideas as to I can turn on the sound?

Thank you for your responses.    I found the 'sound' icon in the menu bar and found it was turned down low.   I adjusted the sound there and this worked; however, I'm not sure why this didn't show in my System Preferences or why I couldn't adjust the sound from the keyboard.    Those function keys basically became un-usable for me.   Thank you again!

How can I get sound on my MacBook Air after installation of Lion? "No output devices found" on the system preferences pane of my MacBook Air.

Since installing Lion on my MacBook Air, I get no sound and ITunes playback doesn't move. The Sound Preference pane states "No output devices found." The Bluetooth connection to a WiFi speaker works, so it must be a software problem. Anyone?

For sound, try the audio output port and connecting to the RCA audio input ports on your Pioneer receiver. Use something like this:

No Output Devices Found and Track Pad Issues

I bought my Macbook Pro in mid-November 2011. Yesterday I noticed that my Macbook did not have any sound and when I checked System Preferences it gave me the dreaded "No output devices found" message. I could hear a start up sound but nothing after I have already logged in to any of my accounts. This is the first time I encountered it and I did some research so I have already done a PRAM reset, permission repair and I even created a new user account to see if I will encounter the same problem. Same thing on the other user account, still no sound. I also found out that the sound would only come out with a USB headset. Headsets with jacks won't work either.
I brought the unit to a service center and they advised me to reinstall OS X Lion and I did. There was sound right after I reinstalled the OS. However, it was gone again when I did a reboot. I also noticed that my track pad won't respond on certain occasions and I have to do a force shutdown by pressing the power button. What could be the problem? I am fearing that this is a hardware issue. I prefer not to have to bring the unit to a service center, wait for a week to get it back then only to encounter the same problem in the future.

Cipher transformation that outputs non-padded plaintext final partial block

I have written some Java code to read from and write to an existing data format that encrypts its data using a known symmetric key. It appears to be using the "AES/ECB/NoPadding" transformation / algorithm for all blocks, except for the final block, if the final block is a partial block. Any partial final block is just written out plaintext. When I use an "AES/ECB/NoPadding" Cipher in a CipherInputStream or a CipherOutputStream to read from or write to such a byte stream, respectively, everything works fine, except that any partial final block is omitted, as is expected from what I know of the behavior of "AES/ECB/NoPadding".
(FYI, all of these questions relate to the Oracle JDK 7u2. For classes whose source is not included with this JDK, e.g., com.sun.crypto.provider.AESCipher, I looked at the source from the OpenJDK 7u2. I only looked at the default crypto provider included in the JDK, which I assume is the SunJCE, but I may be wrong.)
1) Is there any other transformation that will properly decrypt / encrypt all the full blocks, but read / write, respectively, a partial final block as plaintext? (I assume not, but I also assume that it won't hurt to ask)
2) Is there any way to obtain the buffered partial final block's data from Cipher? I can get the length of the leftover data from getOutputSize(0), but I haven't found a way to get the content. (I assume that this is done intentionally, to keep the Cipher-related classes as secure as possible)
If I knew the length of the input, I could just determine the index of the end of the last full block, but I'd like this code to work with any arbitrary InputStream, and there's no way to know the length of an InputStream (without reading until you receive a -1, of course).
I will probably wind up using a wrapping InputStream / OutputStream that always buffers the last partial block read from / written to it, respectively, until it's received a -1 from a read, or a flush call, respectively, but I wanted to avoid this if I could possibly use the crypto API more effectively.
As an aside, I investigated exposing a partial final block's data by creating a wrapper class for one or more of the crypto classes. This appears difficult since many of these classes are final. Some other non-final crypto classes have final methods that use non-exposed private members, so those might be difficult, if not impossible, to wrap properly. The best plan that I devised is to create a CipherSpi subclass that wraps around a Cipher, and then use a Cipher subclass that wraps around both the wrapping CipherSpi subclass and the original Cipher. This appears convoluted, so I haven't yet thoroughly investigated its feasibility.
I don't think that I can plug in a new mode or padding implementation to the existing SunJCE classes, since com.sun.crypto.provider.CipherCore seems to limit the potential implementations to those of which it is already aware.
Please let me know if I've overlooked or misunderstood anything (this is the first time that I've used the crypto API).

I understand why the crypto API would want to make it difficult to obtain partial final block info, but was just wondering if there is any easy way to obtain it anyway. You could use one of the stream ciphers or one of the techniques that turns a block cipher into a stream cipher resulting in one byte per byte. To make it secure you will still need to use a random IV (or something similar) so there will still be an inflation. You can normally get away with just 8 bytes for the IV. The output is still binary bytes and will need to be encoded (Base64, Hex or ASCII85) if you are going to try to store it in a 'char' or 'varchar' which will result in further inflation.
I just wrote the cyclic buffer & associated input & output streams, so I'll probably just use those since I probably won't be able to extricate the partial final block from the crypto classes.I don't understand this.
Note - pretty much every time one encrypts data one ends up with ciphertext longer than the cleartext. This is fundamental to encryption and is nothing particularly to do with Java. One can often use compression of the original cleartext prior to encryption but this does not guarantee to result in smaller ciphertext than cleartext.
Note 1 - it seems to me that all you are trying to do is obfuscate the data so why not just use a simple insecure substitution cipher? This way you end up with ciphertext of the same length as the cleartext and using the same character set so nothing in the database structure has to change.

Bridge Output non existent

Hi,
Just got Photoshop CS5 and when I went to try to make a photo gallery I found that my Output window (where all the photogallery options are) is not there just a grey box where the options should be. I know what it should look like after watching a youtube video.
I have tried loading the plugins, but that has not solved the problem.

Serious RAW artifacts in Aperture. None found in ACR. Photo comparison..

Here's some photos of a recent shot. It looks like Aperture's RAW engine is not playing nice with my image. Terrible artifacts appear kinda like a chroma - high sharpening thing going on in the hair. It's obvious in the links of the screen captures. I tried Adobe's ACR and it's not there. What gives? This is baaaad. I can't possibly use Aperture like this. Version 1.5.2 by the way...and the RAW setting are displayed there...base settings with everything off. Even with the settings at default it looks the same. Version 1.0 RAW settings is actually a little better but still apparent. Exporting has the artifacts on the image. The original RAW file doesn't have it.
Really excited about Aperture but can't have this going on and call it a pro photo...baadd. And I was looking at the photo and print output and could detect a little muddyness...terrible RAW conversion. Needs to be fixed.

Your video card is fine.
If ACR give you good output, and Aperture does not, it is the application.
I have found that Aperture has a tough time with the fine line details like hair, thin necklaces, and even denim.
I see the same clean output with Lightroom, which has ACR4 in it.
The following is a Nikon D2x NEF, lit with a monolight bounced into an umbrella camera left.
This was imported into both applications, no adjustments, then exported as level 10 JPGS.
Look at the moire type pattern in the denim skirt.
Lightroom left, Aperture on right.

My macbook's sound won't work - no output devices found in settings?

I've been having a lot of issues with my Macbook. It has a 2.4 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo processor and is running on version 10.6.8 Mac OS X. It asks for certification whenever surfing the web or loading websites, and always redirects to a different page. Now, the sound won't work at all - regardless of mute on/ off or sound turning up and down. I went to settings to check out the problem, and there is no output or input device listed or found on that page. I have no idea what's going on, and now, even though it's plugged in it won't charge.

First thing I would try for your sound output issue would be to reset the parameter RAM.

No Sound and "No Output Devices Found" in System Preferences/Sound

Sound was intermittent for awhile and now there is no Sound/Output found. Tried the Command-P-R reset but it does not fix problem.

Click the Built-in Output.
Under Mute any box checked?
If Intenal speakers are visible, try to adjust volume slider.
Make sure that Source: Internal Speakers
Format is set at 44100.0 Hz

Choose the method for:
"Resetting SMC on portables with a battery you should not remove on your own".
If these steps do not help, you may have to take the computer to the Apple store.
