Hello irohitgupta,
Thank you for posting on the HP Forums!
I understand your computer display is experiencing issues with a red line. I will do my best to assist you! To troubleshoot the issue, please refer to the relevant sections of this HP document: Display Quality Issues
The sections I would like you to refer to are "several colored vertical lines in the display", "screen is discolored" and "general troubleshooting tips for display quality issues". Please try all of the troubleshooting and let me know the results.
If the issue persists, please provide the following information:
1. The computer's model number. If you require assistance locating this information, please reference this website: Guide to finding your notebook product number
2. The computer's operating system. If you require assistance locating this information, please reference this website to determine your Windows operating system.
3. Does this occur on certain programs, or all programs?
4. Have you installed any new software or drivers on this computer, before the issue appeared?
Additionally, if the issue just began occurring, I would perform a system restore. I want you to bring the computer back to the earliest restore point possible, in an attempt to dodge whatever caused the issue. Here is a document on how to perform a System Restore: System Restore

Have you tried this?
Reset the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons. -

For you to have the best experience in the HP forum I would like to direct your attention to the HP Forums Guide. Learn How to Post and More I understand that your display has vertical red lines, sometimes it will work fine sometimes for 2-3 hours. If you connect an external display and the same lines appear on it. Have you ran the Windows troubleshooter? Have you ran the HP Support Assistant ? Have you looked for a HP driver update for the graphic card? As the lines appear on the external also I would run a hardware test on the computer. HP Notebook PCs - Testing for Hardware Failures (Windows 7, Vista) Have you checked for viruses and malware? If you start your notebook in Safe Mode do you have the same issue? To say thanks for replying please click the thumbs up icon below. The screen resolution in 1920x1200 dropped on my MacBook Pro 17". Seems like I have not the same pixels. There are also vertical, thin lines on the screen. Makes the screen look milky. Anybody knows what's going on and how to fix it?
Take it to an Apple Store or other service provider for testing.

Red Lines Across the screen?!
I did a search but didn't find anything similar to what I'm experiencing. I watch DVDs and movies on my iBook and noticed lately that the screen will have a reddish hue. I can adjust the screen and it will go away, but I've noticed it's happening more and more, and also getting harder to adjust the screen where the red lines are not showing up. I'm trying to figure out if it is a connection cable or the LCD. I can still get a clear picture with the LCD, but if I move it just a little, they come back.

My blackberry Z30 is displaying a vertical pink line frn top to bottom of screen, what should I do to clear it, secondly the head phone need to be supported by hand before it can funtion.
That sounds like a display hardware problem. You should get the device replaced under warranty through your carrier.

My ipad has red lines on the screen
My ipad has red lines running across the screen, this does not happen all the time, but seems to affect the black colour on screen, is there a solution to this please
You can try to reset your iPad:
Press and hold the Home button and the Sleep/Wake button (also known as power button) simultaneously.
Continue holding both buttons until the iPad shuts down and begins to restart, this might take up to 20 seconds.
You may stop holding the buttons when you see the Apple logo.
You completed the reset successful, you can now try if your iPad works again.
If it won't work, it means you have a hardware problem. If you have warranty, you can repair it for free, visit your local Apple Store or Premium Reseller to let them repair your phone. -
I'm currently living in Saudi Arabia but I bought my iPad 3 from Dubai around 6 days ago, my device is still under warranty but none of the apple stores are fixing it over here in Saudi Arabia... Please help me with my situation!
Hi Eric Ferguson,
Thanks for using Apple Support Communities.
For troubleshooting on this, take a look at this article:
iTunes: Specific update-and-restore error messages and advanced troubleshooting
http://support.apple.com/kb/ts3694
Error 13, 14, 35 and 50 (or -50)
These errors are typically resolved by performing one or more of the steps listed below:
Perform USB isolation troubleshooting, including trying a different USB port directly on the computer. See the advanced steps below for USB troubleshooting.
Put a USB 2.0 hub between the device and the computer.
Try a different USB 30-pin dock-connector cable.
Eliminate third-party security software conflicts.
There may be third-party software installed that modifies your default packet size in Windows by inserting one or more TcpWindowSize entries into your registry. Your default packet size being set incorrectly can cause this error. Contact the manufacturer of the software that installed the packet-size modification for assistance. Or, follow this article by Microsoft: How to reset Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) to reset the packet size back to the default for Windows.
Connect your computer directly to your Internet source, bypassing any routers, hubs, or switches. You may need to restart your computer and modem to get online.
Try to restore from another known-good computer and network.
Best of luck,

My iMac G5 is two years old and now have a thin vertical red line on the screen.
Is it a hardware problem? It may be that youre having the screen problem described in those posts:

http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=974094&tstart=0
If it is this, the line would normally multiply... if you have Applecare plan send it for repair I would say; without applecare the european law gives you 2 years warranty.
Good luck -
Does anyone know what causes a thin vertical red line on the display?
There is a problem with the display or the connection to the display. Take it to an Apple store genius bar for a definitive diagnosis. The diagnosis will be free, any repairs will not be free.

I would just like to understand why there a two thin red vertical lines on the screen
I suspect I need to bring into an apple store for diagnostics but is anyone aware of the likely cause?
thanks v much!It could be a GPU issue, a display issue or a display connection issue. The genius bar technician will offer you a definitive answer and should fix it under the warranty provisions.

Vertical red line on my iMac computer screen.
I have a vertical red line on my 2009 21.5 inch all-in-one iMac. I can see it on the desktop and it's also there regardless of what window or application I'm running. I'm not sure what caused it but I sure would like to know if I can get rid of it. Thanks!
Having read some related discussions after I posted (my apologies), it appears there's no solution but that I need a new display. Can I get a ballpark estimate on the cost please? BTW, the line goes only about 3/4 of the distance from the bottom of the screen to the top of the screen.

I have an irritating line on the screen of my 4th gen ipod touch going left to right. It starts out as a blue line (with bright backgroung) or red line (with dark background). Switching backrounds will also switch the color of the line. Sometimes it stops halfway the screen. Sometimes the blue/red line becomes white somewhere halfway the screen and continuing as a white line to the other side of the screen. It mostly starts out as a normal screen and when using the blue/red line appears and when using some more the white part appears.Mostly in the beginning the line starts flickering and becomes more steady after a while.
I have searched on the internet but can only find info on some pixels acting weird (stuck/frozen/dead pixels). This is a whole line of pixels not doing what they are supposed to do.
Anyone an idea what this could be and how to solve it?
Thanks,Did you ever fix this? My daughters is the same. Treated with tender loving care, we reset to factory and it disappeared but was back again after 2 or 3 days. Still in warranty so going to take to the genius bar, however a bit concerned that because it belongs to an 11 year old they are going to assume she's damaged it.

Hi all,
Please help, I repaired an iphone 5c and have now tried two different lcd screens on it but all I get is a black screen or a black screen with a vertical blue line on the left hand side of the screen. I definitely have the cables connected properly etc and before I repaired it the phone had a cracked screen and there was a picture on it.
I have tried hard reset and nothing. I have tried connecting to iTunes but it asks me to confirm on the iPhone which I can't do as there is nothing on the display. I have tried randomly pressing all over the screen but it doesn't work. So I can't even try restoring it on iTunes.
Please help any advice will be appreciated! I successfully have repaired iphone 4's and iphone 5 before but this is the first iphone 5c.
Thanks.purplesunshine3 wrote:
