hi i understand your frustration as i have been there myself, to be honest i would avoid the whole converting the file to 3gp as i feel this dramatically lowers the quality and i would recommend installing an aditional medial player to the handset.
try installing one of the following files as they have worked for me in the past:

you can download these straight to your pc or use your handsets data connection but be wary of data charges while doing this.

If you have a mini DV camcorder with A/V ports you can connect the output of a Standalone DVD player to your camcorder (instead of the TV). You'll record the output from the DVD player to tape in your mini DV camcorder and import the tape into iMovie (excellent quality).

  • How do i get my dvds onto my (30GB) ipod

i cant figure out how to get my DVDs onto my ipod can someone help me?

I purchased a program called the Cucosoft DVd to iPod converter. It was 29.95 (I think) and it's great. You pop in your DVD, open the program, open the DVD file and then choose what you want on your iPod (you may not want all the special features, commentaries, trailers, etc, so you can just select the movir itself) and then click 'convert' and let it do the work. Once it's done it asks if you want to open iTunes to load the movie. You then click file>add file to library and it takes you right to where the movie is stored. You load it on itunes (takes about 3 minutes and you don't have to convert it again) and you're set,. Then sync as you normally would. I have 10 full length movies, a bunch of music videos and about 900 songs and I've only used about 35% of the 60g. Hope this is helpful

  • Very frustrating problem with mousepad, clicker, and cursor.

Hi, guys. Anyone who could help me with this would have my sincere appreciation.
Recently (in the last week), my three-year old MBP has been giving me ****. Sometimes the problem is around, sometimes it isn't, but tonight was the last straw. I can hardly use MS Word to type anything, which is very frustrating since I'm a writer.
When I move the cursor over something, sometimes it will select whatever it's over even though I didn't click. For example, in Word, it will click some random space in the middle of the page and automatically put the typer there. Another example- when I use iTunes and I want to select a specific spot in a track I'm listening to, it won't "click out". So when I move the cursor, even though I've clicked out, the cursor will still drag the music backwards or forwards. Another thing that happens, is I will unintentionally open a document or program, even though I did not click, but the cursor was over it. One other thing- if I'm on the Finder and there's nothing on the desktop, sometimes the cursor will start making those gray selection squares and even though I keep clicking out, it keeps making new ones.
Is this a virus? Is it a hardware problem? Any ideas?
Thanks for the help. My MBP is up to 10.5.something.

Couldn't find an edit button, so I'm double-posting, sorry. Anyway, recently, I've been restarting when the problem gets too unmanageable and every time I've restarted, it automatically ejects my disc somewhere between blacking out and the log-in screen.

  • How do i get my dvds onto my ipad 2 for free and easy i just can get it atall any help would be great.

does anyone know how i put my dvds onto my ipad for free. i have tried a few things but cant get them to work any help would be great.

If the digital copies are compatible with iTunes and iOS devices, there will be some sort of redemption code or other link that will obtain the movie from the iTunes Store, at which point it will automatically be in iTunes.
Note, though, that there are digital copies that are not compatible with iTunes (ones that use the Ultraviolet protection scheme, for instance). Also, many DVDs and Blu-Ray disks offer digital copies only for a limited time after the movie is first released, so the offer may have expired by now.

  • Very Frustrating Problems

I've been reading through this forum and noticed SEVERAL people having the same problem as I have been. I purchased my IBOOK G4 in late July/Early August 2005 and had nothing but success with it. Battery life was around 3-4 hours, and it charged in no time.
However, in the past month, the time the battery holds a charge has dropped significantly to about 30 minutes at best.
Another increasingly frustrating problem is that, even when plugged in, the battery will not charge. Many times, the battery icon at the top of the desktop screen will indicate that the adapter is plugged in and charging, yet the battery does not charge. I have to twist and turn and pull and push on the adapter plug to get it to charge, and once I get it into a position where it works, I have to hold it there in order to achieve even a moderate charge (20-30%).
No one either here nor through my dealings with Apple support via phone have been able to offer me a solid answer and it's becoming incredibly frustrating.
I really need to know if I need a new adapter, or battery, or if my computer is just shot.
My AppleCare just ran out not but a month or two ago, and once I recieved the notice that the coverage was up is about the same time I started experiencing tons of problems.
Even now I'm sitting her with my laptop plugged up to the ac adapter, and the indicator keeps bouncing between charging and draining.
Can someone please give me a solid answer as to what I should do.
    Thank you in advance.
    -Anthony

I have the same problem with my Feb 2005 iBookG4, that started about a month or two ago. I read in some forum (no longer sure where, try Googling for that) that the skilled poster opened their (out of warranty) iBook, found a crack in the receptacle into which the power plug goes, and soldered it. Way more skills than I have!
If you bought Applecare for yours, should be good for 3 years - thus, covered by Apple until same month you bought it, in 2008.
I called Applecare myself, after trying (unsuccessfully) a service center that replaced the PMU. They wanted to exchange the power brick first, which we just did, without solving the problem. They implied that they WILL take the iBook back to look at and fix, now that we tried that first step of replacing the power brick.
As a temporary workaround, my wife got a piece of foam to position under the plug to put sideways pressure; until we found a position where the AC power maintained continuous contact with the iBook. This allows us to bring the charge all the way to 100%, so we can backup the hard drive before I have it sent back to Apple for service.
Call Apple, let us know how it works out for you!

    Michael,
You already asked this question Re: Oracle EM 10g - Running an OS Command and you were given a (in my opinion) correct answer. If you don't agree with the answer, or if you have tested it and it did not work, then post a reply to that message.
It is very frustrating for people who put in their time and effort to answer questions, to see the same question just being asked again by the same person, without receiving any feedback from the poster why his / her answer was neglected.
Maybe I am reacting to strong, but then again it still early in the morning and I haven't had my coffee yet.

  • Problem getting blank DVDs to show up on desktop or in iTunes

    Hello,
I have been trying to burn playlists in itunes onto a blank dvd. I can burn CDs, but when I try to insert a blank DVD, it checks media and spits it back out. Neither will my MAC show the blank dvd on my desktop when I insert it outside of iTunes. I have an internal DVD drive and an external one....same story!!??
The very last time I tried to burn a DVD in iTunes, it started, but then I got some strange message about the spool running out?? I've never seen it before.
    My DVD drives are a Yamaha CRW2100E and a Pioneer DVD-RW DVR-1600D
Also, the drive keeps opening and closing...with or without a DVD in it. Again...it works for CDS!!!
I have verified and repaired my preferences. Any ideas as to what could be wrong?
    Thanks,
    John

Most likely your external DVD burner is causing a problem, disconnect it and reboot.
Try a different brand of media, handle only the edges.

  • Ongoing, very frustrating problems with Snow Leopard

I've really been struggling to get my machine to work optimally with Snow Leopard. I recently upgraded to 4GB RAM thinking my problem was insufficient memory, but several seemingly intractable problems are persisting.
    1) Still having font issues. I am apparently missing a couple fonts, but cannot figure out which ones. The font that Apple uses during the installation of software is bitmapped, as are several fonts in my widgets (Stocks, for example). I've tried manually going through one by one in Font Book, but still can't get the right set, apparently.
    2) Firefox and Safari are now hanging like crazy on certain websites, and web browsing is generally sluggish. I recently upgraded by broadband to 6.0mps, so it's not the connection that's the problem. Some sites will not even load, and others are painfully slow.
    3) General system sluggishness. I have tried cleaning the cache with Snow Leopard Cache Cleaner, I've tried repairing permissions. Performance is still slow relative to Leopard -- despite my RAM upgrade. For example, it takes forever for the widgets to load. They used to be lighting fast in Leopard.
    HELP!

Here is a solution to having a sluggish internet experience that has worked for some.
    1. Go Library/Preferences/SystemConfiguration
    2. Move the the SystemConfiguration folder to your desktop:
    3. Reboot
The folder moved should be recreated upon reboot. You may have to reconnect to your wireless network if applicable. And, you may need to go System Preferences > Sharing and re-enter your computer's name. Check what name is given in sharing before following the instructions. If problems develop, then your can move the original folder back where they it started—overwriting anything recreated.
    3) General system sluggishness. I have tried cleaning the cache with Snow Leopard Cache Cleaner, I've tried repairing permissions. Performance is still slow relative to Leopard -- despite my RAM upgrade. For example, it takes forever >for the widgets to load. They used to be lighting fast in Leopard.
There are a variety of possible fixes for general slowness, in addition, to maintenance that is not performed automatically in Sno. Here are some nonmaintenance-related possibilities:
    1. If you are running iAntivirus, then uninstall it.
    2. Look in Library > StartupItems and in System > Library > StartupItems. Move whatever you find in them to the desktop to see if your problem is resolved. You can move whatever you want back one at a time to test which, if any, is your problem.
    3. I Go > System > Library > LaunchDaemons/com.apple.audio.coreaudiod.plist and delete this file. I caution you here that all possible solutions one tries are at his or her own risk.
You'll lose all system sounds in Finder with this possible fix, but restoring the plist and stopping then starting the service seems to put all back in order.
    4.
    1. Create a new user
    2. Test apps to see that they work with no crashing.
    3. Drag your data (not your whole home folder) into their proper places in your new user home folder
    4. Re-enter your app preferences if you are going to keep using the new user.
    5. If you want to use the old user name, then delete the old account; recreate it; and move everything back to the original locations.
    6. You will need to fix the permissions, app settings, etc.
    5. Go back to 10.6.

  • How to get a dvd onto a video iPod

i have downloaded a couple of softwares, but when i ty to open them, it says there is nothing to open to. Help!!!

    Hello,
what I can say is, that Handbrake workes absolutely fantastic, whether with self-made DVD's or standard ones.
Very simple, the only thing which went wrong the first time I used it is the picture size.
Ipod only accepts 320 times whatever the program says.
320 is the issue, you have to stick with that.
there is a good documentation at:
    http://www.methodshop.com/mp3/tutorials/dvd-to-ipod/index.shtml
After I've read that, it worked like a charm.

  • Getting a DVD onto my iPad

I am using Handbrake to convert some DVD's to put onto my iPad. Roughly how long does it take to convert it into a useable file? As I have been looking at an unchanged screen for a good hour plus. Also, once it has converted how do I then put it into iTunes?
    Thanks

The Time it takes will be dependant on the length of the video, and your computers resources. . Longer videos will take longer. low Ram and low cpu speed will also contribute to length of time.
But handbrake should show you a progress bar.
Once converted you can import the file to iTunes from the File menu Add to Library option.

  • Problem getting G5 PowerBook onto wireless network

've given an oldish (G4) Apple laptop to a friend, but she is unable to get it onto her wireless network.
The OS 10.4.11 on it and it works perfectly well on my network.
My friend's network is hidden, so I've typed in the name and the password and set the security to WAP Personal - these settings definitely work on my friend's own Windows laptop. and I'm sure I've not mis-typed anything. The machine is finding the network OK but can't connect to it - error message says the password or security setting is wrong.
    Any ideas?

First, title of my message is wrong - it's definitely a G4, not G5.
Not sure how old it is, as I bought it second hand.
As my friend now has the machine, I can't immediately answer which version of Airport is on it. However, the laptop does work on my network which has WAP security, and surely the machine wouldn't offer WAP as an option if it couldn't handle it?
    Thanks

  • How do I get my DVD onto iDVD? Help pls

    Hi,
I want to create a compliation of all of my video clips. Some are in iMovie, which are easy enough to use iDVD to create a compilation DVD, but the rest have been burnt to disk from my old computer.
How can I transfer the videos from disc onto my Mac so I can then move them into iDVD and create my compliltion?
ANy tips greatly apprecaited (particularly as it was intended to be my last minute XMas present!)

A dvd is normally considered a finished product and is highly compressed into Mpeg-2. However you may still be able to meet your objective with a third party app like DVDXDV but you'll likely notice some loss in quality. What you'll have to do is convert those existing dvd's back into QT files for use within iMovie or iDVD (your choice).
