A very tough test for the ADF gurus...

one of these code chunks works and one doesn't, can you tell which???
CODE EXAMPLE ONE:
  protected void prepareModel(DataActionContext ctx) throws Exception
    String periodName = "May-05";
    ViewObject vo = ctx.getBindingContainer().getApplicationModule().findViewObject("CalendarView1");
    vo.setWhereClause("period_name = ?");
    vo.setWhereClauseParam(0, periodName);
    vo.executeQuery();
    super.prepareModel(ctx);
  }CODE EXAMPLE TWO:

  }It's a non-Oracle db, hence the ? style parameters... One of these returns a UIX table with your selected criteria and the other will return a no data found. I think some exception is thrown and handled somewhere in the lifecycle, but not propagated anywhere useful. If you get the answer right, you may save yourself hours of debuging, coding and frustration one day...

code example two works, but example one doesn't. I don't know if the 'bug' is in ADF or the JDBC vendors code.
