A way to get purchased songs

Over quite some time I have made extensive purchases from I-tunes some of which my computer tells me can no longer be found. Is there a way to get purchased songs back from iTunes without having to buy them again?

Restore them from a backup, or use these instructions to redownload them through the iCloud if doing so is free in your country.

  • Getting purchased songs from itunes store onto new computer

I have a brand new computer and ipod, and I'm wondering if there is a way to get previously purchased songs from the itunes store into my library and onto my ipod. My computer is already authorized and I know there is a way to get purchased songs from an ipod into itunes, but I can't figure out store into library. Any help would be greatly appreciated

I know there is a way to get purchased songs from an ipod into itunes, but I can't figure out store into library.
I am confused. Purchased items are from the store.
    iTunes is the library.
So if you know how to get purchased > iTunes, then you already are moving store > library.
The easiest way to get everything from old computer to new computer is...
Copy the entire \Music\iTunes folder from the old computer to \Music\ on the new computer.
    You can use your iPod.
See this -> <How to use your iPod to move your music to a new computer/a>

  • While deleting an album, I hit select all, instead of deleting just that album the entire genre was deleted. I was able to get back all the purchased songs , but none of the cds that were in my collection. Any way to get those songs back?

Assume you were in itunes?  Also assuming windows?  Two paths I can think of.....
    1) Normally anything deleted from itunes goes to recycle bin.  If you did not pick remove from computer probably still in itunes music directory.  Just add back.  Note to speed things up you can use add directory.
    2) Use restore previous version of music directory.  To be safe I'd back up current directory, do a restore, then swap back original directory and use restored directory off line.
I do not know of nice solution, I like to hack my way through.

  • Is there a way of getting your songs off your ipod?

Okay, so i have my ipod synced with a computer that i'll never see again. It was my ex boyfriends...is there a way of getting my songs off my ipod and on to my new computer or am i basically screwed if i want to add new songs?

Connect your iPod to your computer. If it is set to update automatically you'll get a message that it is linked to a different library and asking if you want to link to this one and replace all your songs etc, press "Cancel". Pressing "Erase and Sync" will irretrievably remove all the songs from your iPod. Your iPod should appear in the iTunes source list from where you can change the update setting to manual and use your iPod without the risk of accidentally erasing it. Also when using most of the utilities listed below your iPod needs to be enabled for disc use, changing to manual update will do this by default. Check the "manually manage music and videos" box in Summary then press the Apply button: Managing content manually on iPod
Once you are safely connected there are a few things you can do to restore your iTunes from the iPod. If you have any iTunes Music Store purchases the transfer of purchased content from the iPod to authorised computers was introduced with iTunes 7. You'll find details in this article: Copying iTunes Store purchases from your iPod to a computer
The transfer of content from other sources such as songs imported from CD is designed by default to be one way from iTunes to iPod. However there are a number of third party utilities that you can use to retrieve the music files and playlists from your iPod. You'll find that they have varying degrees of functionality and some will transfer movies, videos, photos, podcasts and games as well. Have a look at the web pages and documentation, this is just a small selection of what's available, they are generally quite straightforward. You can read reviews of some of them here: Wired News - Rescue Your Stranded Tunes

    iRepo Mac and Windows
    iPodRip Mac & Windows
    YamiPod Mac and Windows

There is also a manual method of accessing the iPod's hard drive and copying songs back to iTunes on Windows or a Mac. The procedure is a bit involved and won't recover playlists but if you're interested it's available at this link: Two-way Street: Moving Music Off the iPod
Whichever of these retrieval methods you choose, keep your iPod in manual mode until you have reloaded your iTunes and you are happy with your playlists etc then it will be safe to return it auto-sync. I would also advise that you get yourself an external hard drive and back your stuff up, relying on an iPod as your sole backup is not a good idea and external drives are comparatively inexpensive these days, you can get loads of storage for a reasonable outlay.

    You can re-download from iTunes.
Go to the iTunes Store and select "Purchased" from the Quick Links side bar on the right. Go through all the tabs to download again for free

  • Is there a way to get my songs from my old ipod to my new one?

i was just wondering if there is a way to get my songs from my old ipod nano to my new ipod nano because some of the songs i have are not in my itunes... so if there is a way to get my songs from my old ipod to my new one can someone tell me how please

You can't copy directly from one iPod to another. If the songs on the old one aren't in iTunes you need to copy them back and update the new one from there. • Is there a way to get the songs back after you do a sync and erase? I no longer have them stored on my harddrive.

Thanks to a wonderful geeksquad agent all my songs have been deleted from my ipod. They had to restore my computer so the ones I downloaded are no longer on my harddrive or in itunes. Is there a way to get the songs back after you do a sync and erase?

If they are on the iPod there are third-party programs that will transfer then to  a computer. See:

If they ae not on either the iPOd or the computer they are gone.

Yes, I got that. My question was "are you using the same iTunes account to access music purchased from the Store?" I think your answer is "yes".
    matthewfrommerseyside wrote:
But they are all on my ipod - can i not sync back to itunes?
iTunes is not designed to do that. However, this user tip from tt2 may help you recover your music from your iPod, although it's not a simple process: Recover your iTunes library from your iPod or iOS device
Ignore any references in the tip to iOS devices, the Classic does not use iOS. The tip has a list of software, including the TouchCopy referred to by tbirdvet that may assist you in recovering your music.

  • Is there a way to get previous songs purchased on iTunes re-downloaded?

Confusing, but when my ipod was first purchased my husband used his work computer to download songs...he changed jobs and computer was taken before these songs could be saved elsewhere. All these songs were on my iPod until today when it got a little wet! I'm hoping it may come back to life, but not sure. I was never able to really understand how to get these other songs onto my new iTunes library since I no longer had the computer. I see the purchases on my history...is there anyway to get these songs downloaded again without purchasing? If my iPod never comes back to life-is there a way to get songs off of it?

Thank you for the great advice! Unfortunately, I went crazy at first and tried getting it on. But after I calmed down, did some research, I tried different things I read from hair dryer, to hot place and now cool place. I have a feeling it's DACB (dead as can be)! I will continue to pray. But thank you, I am going to follow through with your advice and hope that it will work. I'm so impatient! I didn't know to do the charging/reset part so maybe this might also help. Right now I will just hope for a miracle. And if not I will try to contact iTunes!! Which is hard to do, but through the website you gave...I will hopefully get them! I should have already tried to figure out the process of getting these songs from my iPod to my library but was too scared to hit the wrong button and lose them forever....but now I may have already done that! Oh did I mention it was a little bit of water but from a salt system pool? Yep probably dead. Which is okay that just means I can upgrade to better one...just want songs!:-( Thanks again!

  • Transfering Purchases To Itunes - Any Way to Recover Purchased Songs/Apps?

    I. Am. So. Angry.
This is why I hate itunes!!!! Everything is so confusing!!! Someone, please help?
I have Itunes v10, and an updated Ipod. But nearly every time I transfer purchases to my computer, it doesn't transfer something, yet no error comes up to warn me! And then I sync my Ipod, thinking everythings good, and all the purchased apps and such will still be there... BUT THEY ARE MISSING. I did not delete them! And they are gone! WHYYYYYYY
This has happened with countless apps and music files. Is there any way to recover purchased things? I DO NOT WANT TO BUY THEM AGAIN.
    OK.... Calm down, Uo.... sigh
I have divorced parents, so I have to sync my Ipod with both computers... I have not found out how to do this. Can someone explain how? I think homesharing might work. Also, I want to be able to recover my lost PURCHASED apps/songs. I am very displeased and may never buy another itunes card or product. Every. That's how upset this is making me. PLEASE HELP. And explain in detail, I am stupid.

    OH MY GOD.
Itunes, I take it all back. You are the best. I don't care if you will take over the world someday. You are amazing. As long as I can get my apps again, for free, I love you and will never complain.
I just went to buy it again (sourly) and clicked purchase, but then it said I already bought it, and to clikc 'ok' to download it for free! I LOVE YOU. I LOVE THE WORLD. THANK YOU!!!! ♥♥♥
-Happy, and now promising to buy more itunes cards, Uoneko
