A way to put stuff on ipod without also having it on my computer?

Hi all,
I'm eating up my computer's memory with albums and pictures and such that I only need on my ipod. I realize that I need to put it on my computer to get it onto my ipod but is there a way that, once I have sync-ed everything from my harddrive to my ipod, that it could stay on my ipod and be removed from my computer? Can I just transfer it or move it to my ipod from my computer instead of synching it?

You can certainly erase your iTunes library or your photos or whatever else after you sync your iPod. Just realize that when, not if, you lose everything on your iPod, you'll need to get everything back on your Mac in order to get it back on your iPod. If they don't exist on your Mac, you can't put them back on your iPod. Also, if you add music or photos after erasing the other stuff, and you sync your iPod again, you'll only get the new stuff - the old stuff that you've erased will be gone. You simply need more storage space if you have a lot of stuff to store.
One possibility I can think of would be to get an external firewire HD. You can store all the stuff in your iPhoto Library and your iTunes Library on that. To do this, go to your home folder. Open the Music folder and locate the iTunes Library folder. Drag it to the external HD. Wait for it to copy. Then, after your sure it copied correctly, delete the iTunes library form your Macbook. Next, create an alias (File-Make Alias) of the iTunes Library of the iTunes Library folder on your external HD. You can then move the alias to the Music folder in your Home folder on the Macbook's HD. Remove the "alias" part form the name on your Macbook HD. When iTunes launches, the alias on the HD will point it to the actual folder on the external HD. You can repeat the process with your iPhoto Library and any other folders you need.

I think that the majority of users, like me, don't know that there is even a way to find a lost iPod/iPhone until AFTER they lose it. Appl should find some other way to find a lost/stolen iPod without using apps/iCloud. Personalley, I find the FindMyiPhone app useless because it can only be used in wifi locations and through iCloud. I don't even HAVE an iCloud account because I didnt think i needed it. I had 16 gb to use so i assumed i didn't need the extra space iCloud offered.

If the WMA files are "unprotected", iTunes can convert them when you add them to your library. It should do this automatically.

If not, see: How to convert a song to a different format using iTunes.
However, iTunes cannot convert "protected" WMA files.
The only way to convert these files would be to burn them to an "audio" cd and import that into iTunes as you would any other cd.

Ok, my problem is that I have not got any trace of music on my computer and my music is on my ipod Classic. It is an 80GB one. I want to know if you can still put new music on it without deleting what is already on it. Or, if there is a way to get the music off it and into the computer. Copy from iPod to PC
It is important not to allow your iPod to sync with an empty library. If it is set to synchronise automatically you will get a message saying your iPod is linked to a different library and asking if you want to sync – it is important to press cancel as syncing with an empty library erases all music from your iPod.
You can also prevent auto sync by holding down shift & ctrl as you plug in your iPod and keeping the keys held down until the iPod appears in iTunes.
Once you are connected, you need to set your iPod to manage music manually.

Any way to repair a corrupt ipod without losing data?

I've only had my ipod nano a few months and apparently for some reason it has now corrupted, meaning that I have to restore it and thereby lose all my songs. Does anyone know of any way that I can fix this problem without losing the data? Or can anyone recommend a service provider that can help?

You don't say which OS your iPod was formatted on. It may not be a hopeless situation if the iPod is recognized as a removeable drive in (say) Windows Explorer.

Is there a way to print an e-mail without also printing a long list of addresses?

I am a recipient of some newsletters whose authors include recipient e-mail addresses in the To and CC fields. Occasionally I want to forward the newsletter to friends who are not on-line. (Yes, there are still some around.) I do this by printing the newsletter and forwarding it via snail mail. I could reduce the number of pages if I could avoid printing the address list.
I have not found any discussion of this topic in Thunderbird help or Mozilla support.

Unfortunately, there is no built-in way to easily modify the Subject/From/Date/To section of the print layout.
Thunderbird can be customized with style rules, but since you only want to omit the To on a case by case basis, that would not be a convenient approach. (Unless one of the rules could limit To to no more than one line. Maybe that would be a reasonable workaround?)

However, when I synch my iPhone to to my iMac all of the movies try to synch to the iPhone and this exceeds the available capacity (32) of the iPhone. So the question is, how do I make the movies available on Apple TV but not synch to my iPhone?
