A way to set Preferences to automatically get email alerts?

Is there a way to set the Preferences in Yosemite Calendar so that email is the default alert for events coming up? Thank you for any help.

I'm actually looking for an automatic setting or Preference so that email is the default alert whenever an event is setup. I'm hoping I don't have to click 4 times to make this happen for each event.

I would start by creating a filter that looks like the one in the picture, but if you were run the filter automatically when getting new mail, it might behave oddly if new mail arrives while you're reading a message.

Are you really using an earlier OS than Mac OS 8.6? That would be either 8.1, or 8.5 if I recall correctly.

Any way to set iTunes for automatic updates?

For example, if I have a "My Music" folder, and I copy over some MP3 files from wherever, is there a way to set iTunes to automatically "watch" that folder for new files and add them to the library when it finds them? I haven't been able to find a feature that does this.
If not, why not? "Watch folders" have been in use for years on my other music players.

No it's not stealing. They have an allowance that you can share with so many computers/devices. You'll have to authorize her computer to play/use anything bought on your acct. You can do this under the Store menu at top when iTunes is open on her computer.
As far as getting it all on her computer....I think but I am not sure (because I don't use the feature) but I think if you turn on Home Sharing in iTunes it may copy the music to her computer. I don't know maybe it just streams it. If nothing else you can sign into your acct on her computer and download it all to her computer from the cloud. Not sure exactly how to go about that, I haven't had to do that yet. I wonder if once you authorize her computer and then set it up for automatic downloads (under Edit>Preferences>Store) if everything would download. Sorry I'm not much help on that.

Not getting email alerts- iPhone 4 with latest IOS 6 and Yahoo

I noticed recently that I have not been getting email alerts when I receive emails on my iphone/iPad. I have a yahoo account. I checked the settings. The notification shows that alerts for mail are on. Push is on as well. I am wondering if there is a server issue with Yahoo?
The only time I know if I have new emails is if I go into the app itself. But the app icon will not show me alerts. I tried deleting the account and reinstalling it. No luck..... Any ideas?

I have watched the video and followed instructions to the letter. I turned notifications off in a number of places, I don't follow the forum, I turned "receive email notifications" off. There are six threads in "my stuff", email notifications preferences are all set to "no".
I am getting emails for pretty much everything. This is sad becuse there are so many I can't keep up with conversation and provide any help - too busy cleaning up the email. Please help.

Not getting email alerts on new meetings

I have recently installed a new Mail Account as an MS Exchange sever account. I have an ICAL exchange account as well. The issue is I am not getting emails when someone sets an appointment - but I do get notifications in ICAL. I have set a card as "my card" in address book. Any help on what else to do would be greatly appreciated.

Are you using Mac Mail?
If so, you also have to have the account set up in MM that the ical events are being sent to. You also need to go into your mail preferences and set the ical invites to automatically dump invites into your ical to "never" if you want an actual email invitation.
Though, I'm not seeing an issue with just viewing your notifications in iCal only, you know, to bypass duplicate invites...

I have my work email account in Office 365, I have configured the account in my iPhone 4 running 7.1.1 & it's working fine.
But i have a problem here, i use outlook at Work & i have created folders & folder rules for different people working in my office the folders have been synced to my iPhone but when i receive a mail from a specific person for whom the folder is created i don't get an alert & if the mail comes directly to my inbox everything works fine.
I have to manually go to the folder & update it for syncing the emails. I am missing some of the important emails which i shouldn't have missed.
Please, some body from the forum help me with this.

Go into Setting>Mail, Contacts, Calendars and select Fetch New Data. Select the account you want to Push. From there, you should get a selection box for you to chose which folders you want pushed. Try that to see if this improves your experience.

Not getting email alert after shutting phone off

I have a LG Alley. Ususally leave the phone on 24/7 but I've noticed that when I do shut it off and then turn back on my email alert sound doesn't work. I double check the settings and they are there. Eventually, after some time, the alert sounds do work. Anyone know why the alert sound doesn't just kick back in when the phone is turned on?

I have a similar issue, except with a few quirks.
My alert settings are set to make a noise and vibrate when I get a text. My silent switch is set to 'normal'. Sometimes, randomly, when I get a text, it will not make a noise; the screen lights up and shows the message, and then after a short delay it will vibrate.
Similarly, I think I've noticed in silent mode, it sometimes just lights up and doesn't vibrate (which it is set to)
Any ideas?

SCOM 2012 SP1 Can't get email alerts for Heartbeat Failure or Computer Unreachable when combined with Group.

I have SCOM 2012 SP1 RTM POC lab. I have created a dynamic group that picks up my system center servers based on some simple criteria and this works fine.
I have set up a subscription for critical and high severity alerts originating from this dynamic group called SCOM Servers to send emails to a distribution. This also worked well for any critical alert that was NOT Heartbeat Failure or Computer Unreachable.
I see those in the console but no email.
So I set up a new subscription by right clicking on the alerts and here's the kicker. If add no other conditions to these subscriptions, they will send emails to the DL I provided, but if add the condition initiating from group, and specify my dynamic
group SCOM servers, no email alert. But the alert still appears in the console.
Any ideas on this? I would like the appropriate support groups to get these types of alerts for the servers that they support (i.e. SCOM will get SCOM servers, Exchange Admin will get Exchange and never the two roads shall meet.).
I even tried some internet posted custom management pack, but I couldn't import it after adding the code that he listed.
I mean, isn't this a basic requirement for any mid-sized company?

Like Dan says you need to add the "Health Service Watcher" objects to the groups as wel. Unfortunately this cannot be done in the Dynamic group Editor but has to be done in the XML. Export the XML and add the following piece of code between the

WVC210 - Cannot get email alerts

I successfully set up my WVC210 wirelesss camera, but I couldn't get get the email alerts to work. I understand it will not work with some emails systems like gmail. Does anybody know which type of email will work or how I can get gmail to work?

In the mail settings the default Outgoing Mail Server for GMail is smtp.gmail.com
Did you have gmail in your iPhone before? Or are you trying to set one up?

Setting/preferences do not get copied over

I have recently copied my library to a external hardrive. I noticed that any preferences and or settings (equalizer etc etc ) I had previously in place do not get copied over when I copied this library back ont another computers iTunes. How can I save all the settings when I'm backing up the library.
