A website "http: // supportfirefox .perl .sh/" designed just like Mozilla Firefox site, is driving users to download fake browser. Please check.
I was browsing for image of "Miss Universe" in Google images in Firefox and somehow got a prompt to download firefox_update.exe. As I know that this is not the way Firefox prompts the user for upgradation, I checked the website. It has been designed to fake Mozilla Firefox website and driving users to download their own executable resembling with Mozilla Firefox setup.
http: // supportfirefox .perl .sh
''Edited to de-activate the links - TonyE''
What I'd really like to do is block them with "Adblock Plus" extension. I made up filters for them as follows but while it seems to work for .co.cc they do not work for .perl.sh as in the one in this thread. Reporting them is fine but they spring up so fast that I'd like to just tell people how they can block them even at the expense of some legitimate sites since they are so out of control.
<br> ||dnsever.com
<br> |*.perl.sh^
<br> |*.co.cc^
I also block these in the hosts file
<br> 127.0.0.1 www.dnsever.com #cc.co, perl.sh,
<br> 127.0.0.1 dnsever.com #cc.co, perl.sh,

Why don't restored tabs show titles in Firefox 4? They just say "mozilla firefox."
In Firefox 3.6 when I restored tabs, all of the headings of the tabs immediately loaded. Now in Firefox 4 the tabs are restored but at least have of the headings don't load. They just say "Mozilla Firefox." I then have to go to the sites to get the heading names to appear. I'm wondering what is going on and if this can be fixed.
App (pinned) tabs and Tab Groups (Panorama) are stored as part of the session data in the file sessionstore.js in the Firefox profile folder.
* http://kb.mozillazine.org/Profile_folder_-_Firefox Firefox
* http://kb.mozillazine.org/sessionstore.js
* http://kb.mozillazine.org/Session_Restore
Make sure that you do not use [[Clear Recent History]] to clear the "Browsing History" when Firefox is closed because that prevails and prevents Firefox from opening tabs from the previous session.
* https://support.mozilla.com/kb/Clear+Recent+History
It is also possible to use:

Hey Miramo, Ive got it sorted now. :-)
Thanks for all ya help. -
When I click on the Mozilla icon on my desktop, a mozilla firefox startpage come up that has NO mozilla button to click and access print, history, options etc. Also the whole page automatically shifts down slightly to show only google question box and no address bar. Also, there used to be a place where I could click on most accessed pages, but that disappeared a couple of weeks ago. I have an HP computer and never know what the start page will look like.
Hey plainmad,
Did you recently upgrade Firefox? I would be willing to be that everything is still there, it's just hidden. Take a look [https://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/common-questions-after-upgrading-firefox-36 this article]. It will give you some tips on how to bring back any of the options you might not see.
Hopefully this helps! -

When I went to the website suggested in the forum to download the older 3.6 version of Firefox, there was nowhere I could click to download this older version. Firefox recommends and had a place to click on downloading 4.0. How can I get the best of both without having to upgrade my Mac OSX? Please send me a reply ASAP! Thanks!
Firefox 4 requires at least OS X 10.5. You can get the latest version of Firefox 3.6 from http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/all-older.html
Mozilla are working to prevent Mac users with non-compatible systems from getting the notification about Firefox 4, and also not displaying the "Download Firefox 4" button on http://www.mozilla.com -
When I signed into a user-name-required website, I made a mistake, but didn't realize my mistake until after I asked firefox to save the sign-in information. Now, all I want to do is edit the username sign-in, but firefox won't allow the edit. What do I do?

I'm scared i have a virus. safari keeps opening windows/tabs without my permission. these are normally ads. i have removed website data various times which hasn't worked.
There is no need to download anything to solve this problem.
You may have installed one or more of the common types of ad-injection malware. Follow the instructions on this Apple Support page to remove it. It's been reported that some variants of the "VSearch" malware block access to the page. If that happens, start in safe mode by holding down the shift key at the startup chime, then try again.
Back up all data before making any changes.
One of the steps in the article is to remove malicious Safari extensions. Do the equivalent in the Chrome and Firefox browsers, if you use either of those. If Safari crashes on launch, skip that step and come back to it after you've done everything else.
If you don't find any of the files or extensions listed, or if removing them doesn't stop the ad injection, ask for further instructions.
Make sure you don't repeat the mistake that led you to install the malware. It may have come from an Internet cesspit such as "Softonic" or "CNET Download." Never visit either of those sites again. You might also have downloaded it from an ad in a page on some other site. The ad would probably have included a large green button labeled "Download" or "Download Now" in white letters. The button is designed to confuse people who intend to download something else on the same page. If you ever download a file that isn't obviously what you expected, delete it immediately.
Malware is also found on websites that traffic in pirated content such as video. If you, or anyone else who uses the computer, visit such sites and follow prompts to install software, you can expect more of the same, and worse, to follow. Never install any software that you downloaded from a bittorrent, or that was downloaded by someone else from an unknown source.
In the Security & Privacy pane of System Preferences, select the General tab. The radio button marked Anywhere should not be selected. If it is, click the lock icon to unlock the settings, then select one of the other buttons. After that, don't ignore a warning that you are about to run or install an application from an unknown developer.
Still in System Preferences, open the App Store or Software Update pane and check the box marked
Install system data files and security updates (OS X 10.10 or later)
or
Download updates automatically (OS X 10.9 or earlier)
if it's not already checked. -
After installation it told me to update or research several plugins. I updated Silverlight and JAVA. I was instructed to shut down and restart my computer to test the JAVA installation. I did this and the installation is fine. At this point I no longer had the screen with the list of plugins that need updating or researching.
THis is probably the page you saw.
http://www.mozilla.com/plugincheck/
You can also access it from the Firefox menu by clicking "Tools -> Add-ons -> Plugins" and then clicking the Find Updates button at the bottom. -

I'm working on my homework problem which is:
Design and code a new method to be exported from ArrayStringLog (the file is given to me) called isEmpty with the following signature public boolean isEmpty()
I created a new class and named it homework2, here is the method:
public class homework2
public boolean isEmpty()
// Returns true if this StringLog is empty, otherwise returns false.
if (lastIndex == (- 1))
return true;
else
return false;
}now how can i get it exported from ArrayStringLog? that's the part that I didn't understand
Edited by: memee4eva on Sep 30, 2009 11:53 PMI think your isEmpty() method should go into the ArrayStringLog class. That way the method will be exposed by the altered ArrayStringLog class.
Am I right in thinking that an ArrayStringLog instance has a lastIndex member?
You might like to compare what you have with this:
/** Returns true iff this StringLog is empty. */
public boolean isEmpty()
return lastIndex == -1;

There is no aurora button,just like the orange one in firefox
Yesterday I installed Aurora ( 29.0a2).I saw in the pictures here ( https://blog.mozilla.org/futurereleases/2012/03/19/the-latest-firefox-aurora-is-now-available-for-download-and-testing/ ) that there is an "Aurora" button just like in firefox.In my browser there is no such button.What should I do to get it?
Current Nightly and Aurora builds have the Australis interface that looks different than the user interface in the current Firefox releases.

You can install the Classic Theme Restorer extension to restore some lost functionality.

i downloaded firefox a long time ago but havent used it extensively because i liked chrome. but recently chrome is just too difficult and if there is an issue i cant speak to anyone. so i am trying firefox. i went to take the user interface tour and there is suppose to be a button on the right hand side to help with bookmarks but my 'version' doesnt have that. was wondering how i get that and if i may have the wrong version.
also....i cant seem to find where to turn autofill on and right now its not working except with the occasional email address.
and one more thing....all streaming videos...tv, utube, art instruction..trailers...all get chunked up. nothing ever runs smoothly. and i am paying to get good download speed.
i would appreciate any help on these three issues.

Try disabling graphics hardware acceleration. Since this feature was added to Firefox, it has gradually improved, but there still are a few glitches.
You might need to restart Firefox in order for this to take effect, so save all work first (e.g., mail you are composing, online documents you're editing, etc.).
Then perform these steps:
*Click the orange Firefox button at the top left, then select the "Options" button, or, if there is no Firefox button at the top, go to Tools > Options.
*In the Firefox options window click the ''Advanced'' tab, then select "General".
*In the settings list, you should find the ''Use hardware acceleration when available'' checkbox. Uncheck this checkbox.
*Now, restart Firefox and see if the problems persist.
Additionally, please check for updates for your graphics driver by following the steps mentioned in the following Knowledge base articles:
* [[Troubleshoot extensions, themes and hardware acceleration issues to solve common Firefox problems]]
* [[Upgrade your graphics drivers to use hardware acceleration and WebGL]]
Did this fix your problems? Please report back to us!
